Abstract
Invention Title: Method and System for Adaptive Plasma-Resonant Control of Combustion Processes (APRCS) Abstract A method and system for adaptive plasma-resonant control of combustion processes are disclosed. The invention relates to dynamic stabilization and optimization of chemical reactions in combustion chambers through the controlled interaction between plasma excitation and acoustic resonance. The method comprises generating a plasma region in a gaseous medium, exciting acoustic oscillations within the medium, and applying an electromagnetic field with adjustable amplitude, frequency, and phase. Through feedback-based modulation of these parameters, the system synchronizes electromagnetic excitation with acoustic pressure oscillations, establishing deterministic control over combustion dynamics. The system includes a resonant combustion chamber, an electromagnetic excitation module, sensors for acoustic and plasma diagnostics, and a feedback controller providing real-time adaptive synchronization. The invention enables active suppression of thermoacoustic instabilities, improved combustion efficiency, and fuel-agnostic operation across various propulsion and energy systems. The resonant combustion chamber is configured to sustain standing acoustic waves at a frequency of approximately 1500 Hz, determined by the relationship f = c / (2L), where c ≈ 800 m / s (speed of sound in H2 / O2 mixture at 500°C) and L ≈ 0.8 m (chamber length). Microwave emitters operating at a frequency near 60 GHz are positioned in correspondence with the pressure antinodes of the acoustic field, forming zones of enhanced plasma excitation.
