2 Abstract Apparatus and method for post-processing and cooling of calcined gypsum The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for cooling and recovering calcined gypsum particles. The method comprises introducing gypsum particles into the upper part of a chamber and introducing a gas containing air and water into the lower part of the chamber, where the gas cools and substantially completely encapsulates the gypsum particles. The apparatus comprises a chamber with a rotating distributor for homogenizing the gypsum particles for use in the described method.
