Connection of modular floating elements with pretension

Abstract

The present invention relates to a new system, designated as ARGO system, for constructing floating elements from concrete, which allows the construction of large-dimension floating platforms, and in all three dimensions, with high quality, speed, and low cost.Its particularity lies in the standardization of prefabricated high-quality concrete segments, which are interconnected with pretension, and constitute the final intended construct. The interconnection of the segments is effected either on land, whereupon immersion is performed by a crane or launching, or in the sea, as already described. The floating elements that are obtained by connecting the segments either constitute the final floating element, or constitute parts of a larger construct, which is formed by connecting the parts between them.
