The implant comprises a core comprising at least one drug distributed uniformly in a polymer matrix of a first non-erodible polymer. The implant further comprises a means for adjusting the length of the implant to provide a predetermined dosage of the at least one drug. The exterior of the implant may comprise graduated markings. The polymer may be selected from ethylene-vinyl acetate and poly(ethylmethacrylate) / n-butylmethacrylate. In one embodiment, the implant comprises of one or more discrete units, each including a drug-loaded core, a surrounding sheath made of a second non-erodible polymer, and a central coaxial conduit. These discrete units are mountable on a rod,and the total dosage is determined by the number of units assembled on the rod. Another embodiment allows for cutting the implant to adjust the length and therefore the drug dose. Also disclosed is a method for the production of the implant, a kit of parts comprising said implant and a method of producing said implant using the aforementioned kit of parts. The implant includes a core containing at least one drug uniformly distributed in a polymer matrix of a first insoluble polymer. The implant also includes means for adjusting the length of the implant to provide a predetermined dose of at least one drug. The exterior of the implant may include graduation markings. The polymer may be selected from ethylene-vinyl acetate and poly(ethyl methacrylate) / n-butyl methacrylate. In one embodiment, the implant includes one or more discrete units, each discrete unit including a drug-loaded core, a surrounding sheath made of a second non-erodible polymer, and a central coaxial conduit. These discrete units may be mounted on a rod, and the total dose is determined by the number of units assembled on the rod. Another embodiment allows the implant to be cut to adjust the length and thus adjust the drug dose. The invention also discloses a method for manufacturing an implant, comprising a component kit for the implant and a method for manufacturing the implant using the component kit.
