Abstract

The present invention relates to a detergent tablet, in particular, it relates to a detergent tablet for providing a liquid detergent composition upon dissolution in water. The present invention discloses a unit dose tablet comprising a surfactant, 0.1 to 10 % by weight of a hydrogel and a water-soluble inorganic salt, wherein the hydrogel has a swelling ratio of at least 50, wherein the swelling ratio is determined by the formula: SR (Swelling ratio) = (WS-WD) / WD, wherein WS is the weight of the hydrogel after swelling, and WD is the weight of the dried hydrogel.
