Abstract

This invention concerns a method for making cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmannii) extract gel as a wound healing agent in the oral mucosa. The preparation of cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmannii) extract gel is carried out in two stages, namely: the extraction stage and the gel preparation stage. First, cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmannii) is extracted using the maceration method with 96% ethanol, with a ratio of fine powder weight to ethanol volume of 1:10. The mixture is stirred for 3 days at room temperature at a speed of 600 rpm, then filtered to obtain the filtrate. The filtrate is dissolved again with 96% ethanol in a ratio of filtrate weight to ethanol volume of 1:5 and stirred for 2 days. After filtering, the filtrate is heated at 60°C until the ethanol evaporates, leaving a concentrated extract. 1. dry the bark of cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmannii) as in (1.d) by using oven at 60°C for 24 hours for drying more even and not affected by the weather, J7. Smoothing cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmannii) which has been dried as (1l.e) using a cutter mill for 1 minute until it becomes a coarse powder, k. sift the coarse powder as (1.£) using a sieve (mesh) with a size of 500 up to 53 microns to obtain fine powder.
