Description
PROTECTION DEVICE DESCRIPTION This disclosure refers generally to the field of data protection. using airbags to protect a user from impacts, following falls or slips, 5 when on board a means of transport, such as a vehicle, preferably a two-wheeled vehicle, or any other means of transport like a horse or other animal, a piece of sports equipment, such as a pair of skis or a bobsleigh, or similar means of transport, or to protect a user when performing a any activity even without transport. 10 In the field of user protection, the use of security devices is well known. protection including an inflatable element, i.e. an airbag, which is inflated in the event of an impact from an inflator in fluid communication with the airbag itself. Typically, the inflator includes a source of gas, such as a compressed gas canister, which can expand 15 in contact with an explosive charge. The activation methods, although being a aspect of particular relevance for the effective functioning of the device, are essentially already known to a technician in the field of protection of an individual from unexpected impacts. The inflator is connected by wiring to an electronic unit 20 and preferably these two elements are positioned in proximity to each other, in order to to reduce wiring. The electronic unit is configured to control an activation of the inflator, which is in a specific position on the inflator personal protection, preferably having a wearable configuration, or of a garment that includes personal protective equipment. 25 In particular, a personal protective device is known, preferably wearable, which, in order to speed up inflation, includes two gas generators to inflate the inflatable element. To reduce the wiring of the electronic unit, the gas generators are placed as close as possible to the electronic unit and preferably they are placed on a stable support structure. More precisely, 30 known inflation devices comprise a support structure, consisting of plates or other rigid mechanical components, generally arranged in correspondence of the user's spinal part. This arrangement, although advantageous in many points of view, it presents some drawbacks mainly due to the fact of having to provide a support for the three components, and this support must be placed in 35 a suitable area, for example in the back portion of a device personal protection, thus creating a constraint on the positioning of the components in the device. Furthermore, this provision is not able to always guarantee satisfactory comfort for a user. It follows that the placement of electronic unit and more gas generators is 5 often constrained by the need to provide support and at the same time reduce wiring, as well as resulting in poor comfort for a user of the protection device. In fact, excessive wiring is inconvenient from a from a safety point of view, as electrically conductive wires should be hidden from view, so as not to risk them being placed under tension, or 10 damaged. This disclosure starts from the position of the technical problem of providing a personal protective equipment that allows you to meet the needs mentioned above with reference to the prior art, and to overcome the aforementioned inconveniences and / or which allows for the achievement of further advantages. 15 This is achieved by means of a bushing connection device, a device of protection comprising one or more inflatable elements, a garment which includes said protective apparatus and a method for activating such protective apparatus, according to their respective independent claims. Secondary characteristics of the subject matter of this disclosure are defined in the corresponding 20 dependent claims. In particular, the bushing connection device according to this disclosure is intended to connect at least a first inflatable element with a second inflatable element and / or with a gas generator. The device Bushing connection includes: 25 - a connecting component designed to be connected to the first element inflatable, - and a connecting counter-component suitable for being connected to the second inflatable element and / or a gas generator. The connecting counter-component is capable of being reversibly connected 30 with said connecting component defining a tubular body extending between a first mouthpiece and a second mouthpiece and defining an internal cavity. The tubular body connection component defines the said first mouthpiece and the connecting counter-component of the tubular body defines said second mouthpiece. 35 Said first connecting component comprises a first member of activation intended to determine the generation of an electrical signal, and in where the connecting counter-component includes a second sensitive member intended to cooperate, or interact, with said first activation member for determine the generation of said electrical signal, in which a condition of 5 connection of said connection component and said counter-component of connection corresponds to a tight closure of the said first mouth with respect to at said second mouthpiece, an interaction of said first activation member and said second sensitive member, and a signal generation condition electric. 10 It follows that the bushing connection device allows the possibility of a passage of fluid between one inflatable element and another, or between an element inflatable and a gas generator, only if there is an interaction between the first member and the second member. In this way wiring associated with the gas generator and the inflatable element 15 can pass inside the inflatable element and end with said first and second member, reducing the number of exposed cables. The first activation member can be an electrical terminal, and the second sensitive member may be an electrical terminal intended to create a contact direct electric with said first activation member, in closed condition of 20 said connecting component of the tubular body and said counter-component of the tubular body. Even more preferably the second inflatable element has a respective second pass, and the second exit pass is configured to put in communication between the inside of said second inflatable element and an external area to it, where said connecting counter-component is positioned in 15 correspondence of said second passage and fixed to said second element inflatable. The second inflatable element can be understood as an envelope body which acts as a container for the gas generator, or alternatively it is called first inflatable element is called second inflatable element are elements 20 inflatables with user protection function. The apparatus may, as mentioned, include electrical cables. An electrical cable may be connected at least to said second sensitive member. The electric cable can be a first cable connected with said gas generator, and where in a closed condition of the connection component with said 25 connection counter-component, said first activation member is capable of generate an active state of the gas generator via said first cable. The apparatus may also comprise a second cable connected to said first activation member and configured to be in current communication electrical respectively with said first cable. The second cable is preferably 30 arranged in said first inflatable element. Even more preferably, the apparatus may comprise a control unit configured to activate the said gas generator. To further reduce the exposed cables, the control unit can be housed in said first element inflatable and / or configured to send a wireless activation signal to said 35 gas generator. It can further be noted that the proposed apparatus may comprise a single inflation device shared, or rather operationally associated with all the one or more inflatable elements included in the apparatus. According to a preferred aspect of the apparatus, when there are a plurality of inflatable elements, can 5 at least two inflation devices must be provided which include a respective gas generator, each associated with at least one of the protection assemblies present. This configuration can therefore include, included in the device, at least two or more inflation devices, made in accordance with what is already known at the state of art. 10 In practice according to the present disclosure, each inflatable element is activated by electronic control means, which include at least one unit or control unit in communication respectively with the aforementioned devices inflation, and with one or more sensors for the detection of indicator parameters impacts and / or falls, such as acceleration and / or speed. These sensors can be 15 included in the protection apparatus itself, and be willing and able to operate according to already known methods. The proposed apparatus provides that the power supply of the fluid for inflating an inflatable element occurs through a device socket connection, arranged in correspondence with an opening for the entry of the fluid obtained in the inflatable element itself. The connection device to 20 bushing implements a channel for the fluid-tight passage of the gas inflation. This bushing connection device includes two components of connection, of which a first component is fixed to the inflatable element, configured in such a way as to allow the passage of electric current only when their mechanical coupling is correctly established. 25 According to one aspect of the proposed apparatus, only if the passage of electric current between the two connecting components, the gas can pass, for for example the gas generator can be activated by the control unit. In case On the contrary, the activation of the gas generator is inhibited, even if the control unit recognizes an impact and / or fall condition based on the data detected by the 30 sensors. When no electrical current is detected between the two components of connection, the sending of an alarm signal by the unit can be foreseen control, which can command appropriate interface means, for example the reproduction of an acoustic or luminous signal, or the display of a 35 text message. Such interface means may include in the device itself, or in an electronic device external to it, for example for example a smartphone connected wirelessly (e.g. via Bluetooth) to the unit of control. According to a further aspect of the apparatus, the second of the two components of connection can be attached to an inflation device, in particular to a 5 casing or bag containing the gas generator. In accordance with this configuration, the coupling between the first and second components of connection also ensures a fluid communication, sealed, between the inflation device and the inflatable element. It will be included as the coupling between the first and second connection component creates a 10 connection not only electrical, but also mechanical, between the inflation device and the inflatable element. To obtain the establishment of the electrical connection, it is it is sufficient to correctly establish the mechanical connection. The coupling between the first and second connection component is reversible, for example is a male-female threaded connection. Therefore, 15 also the connection between the inflation device and the inflatable element is reversible. This allows for quicker and easier operation maintenance and inspection of the equipment, as well as replacement of components defective or already used. For example, the inflator, after its activation, it can be replaced with a new one with extreme simplicity. 20 Furthermore, the presence of the aforementioned reversible connection means confers the device has a modularity that allows it to be adapted to the specific purpose of use, simply by adding or removing inflatable elements and / or devices of inflation, thanks to the aforementioned mechanical (and electrical) connection method. With the apparatus thus described, a method can be made available which includes the 25 steps of: - make available said first inflatable element and one and / or the other between said second inflatable element and said gas generator, - mechanically connect said connection component with the counter- connection component to define said socket connection device 30 configured so as to: • create a fluid-tight conduit to allow entry at least within said first inflatable element of a gas, • allow the generation of a signal between the first activation member of said connection component and the second sensitive member of said counter- 35 connection component, • in which the gas is allowed to be released only if an interaction between the first activation member of said connection component and the second sensitive member of said connecting counter-component. 5 Further advantages, features and ways of using the object of the This disclosure will be apparent from the following detailed description of its embodiments, presented for illustrative and non-limiting purposes. Inflatable elements or airbags included in personal protective equipment and protective clothing that includes said airbags is known to a person skilled in the art, and therefore they are not further described in this patent application. The proposed protection apparatus comprises one or more inflatable elements 5 positioned in correspondence with different zones or areas of the apparatus, intended for protect corresponding different body districts of the user when the device is in use. The device can be configured to be worn by a user, in particular it can be shaped like a vest, a jacket or a suit integral. According to further variants which are the subject of this disclosure, the apparatus 10 protection can be associated with a garment, so that it can be worn by a user. This coupling can be reversible or permanent, depending on create a single body. In both cases, the possibility of presence of pockets or seats configured to house the components of the apparatus, in particular one or more inflatable elements, one or more inflation devices and / or the unit 15 of control which will be discussed below, which can be linked therein in a manner permanent or temporary. Referring to Figure 6, a preferred embodiment of the apparatus protection which is the subject of this discussion is denoted by 102. The apparatus 102 comprises an inflatable element 1 configured to be able to assume a condition 20 deflated and an inflated condition, to protect a body district of a user when an impact / fall condition occurs. The element inflatable 1 can implement any type of known airbag, where the inflation is achieved by filling with a fluid, in particular a gas. 25 In accordance with a preferred variant, the apparatus 102 comprises a single inflatable element 1. The apparatus 102 further comprises a gas generator 4 for inflation of the inflatable element 1, which gas generator 4 may have a known type configuration, compatible with the specifications described in the 30 present treatment. The gas generator 4 may be enclosed within an enclosure 3. The enclosure 3 is preferably made in such a way as to be fluid-tight, to avoid the gas leak when gas generator 4 is activated. The gas generator 4 is connected to a control unit 7 configured to 35 command its activation in accordance with a wired mode, or alternatively via wireless, as will be better explained below. Control unit 7 is programmed to control the activation of gas generator 4 when one or more sensors dedicated detect values of parameters indicating an impact condition or fall (e.g. acceleration, velocity) that are above threshold values predetermined, according to methods already known in the state of the art, which will not be further explored. 5 With reference to the example in Figure 7, the inflatable element 1 has a inlet passage 11 for the gas released from the gas generator 4. The passage of input 11 is configured to communicate the inside of the element inflatable 1 with an external area to it. This external area can be a further inflatable element, a bag, a casing, a chamber, but also the 10 space inside a conduit configured for the passage of a fluid. At this input passage 11, a component of connection 5 is fixed to the inflatable element 1. According to a preferred aspect, the connection component 5 is permanently connected to the element inflatable 1, to provide a fluid-tight constraint, or is made of one piece with 15 the inflatable element. The connection component 5 is configured to pair, or rather connect mechanically, with a respective connecting counter-component 6, in a manner reversible. The connecting counter-component 6 is electrically connected to the gas generator 4, as will be detailed below. 20 With reference to Figure 1, the connection component 5 and the contro- connection component 6 both have a main body which carries an opening for the passage of fluid released from the gas generator 4, for example a through hole extending from one end of such main body to the other, according to a longitudinal development direction L. A device is obtained 25 connection 10 shaped like a bushing. The connecting component 5 and the counter-connecting component 6 are preferably configured to make a direct mechanical connection, i.e. that requires no additional components to be applied to, or arranged in position interposed between the connection component 5 and the counter-component of 30 connection 6. According to a preferred aspect, the latter can be configured to implement a quick-release connection or a male-female threaded connection. The connection component 5 is adapted to be reversibly connected with the connection counter-component 6 to define the aforementioned device 35 connection 10. The socket connection device 10 is in turn configured to create a fluid-tight conduit, to allow entry into the inflatable element 1 of a gas which is released from the gas generator 4 in correspondence of the connection counter-component 6. The duct has preferably a rectilinear extension in accordance with the longitudinal direction L, which 5 coincides with the direction of development of the connection component 5 and the counter- connection component 6. According to this implementation, the connection component 5 and the contro- connection component 6 have a tubular or sleeve, to create a fluid-tight conduit with a circular cross-section 10 preferably constant. In the example of implementation shown in Figure 1 and in the subsequent Figures 2 to 4, the connection component 5 and the counter-component of connection 6 have this conformation, and are respectively configured such as a female component and a male component, suitable for creating a threaded connection. 15 According to a preferred aspect, the connection component 5 has a internal thread (nut) at least at one end portion longitudinal terminal intended to achieve mechanical coupling with the connection counter-component 6, as visible in Figure 3. The latter has a in turn a corresponding external thread (screw) at least at 20 a longitudinal terminal end portion intended to make the mechanical coupling with the connection component 5, as visible in Figure 5. The proposed apparatus provides that a first activation member, in the case in point for example a terminal portion 51 of the connection component 5 25 and a second sensitive member, in this case for example a counter-portion terminal 61 of the connecting counter-component 6 are configured for allow the passage of electric current when the device is made connection 10. The terminal counter-portion 61 is electrically connected to the gas generator 4, according to methods that will be discussed below. 30 More specifically, the passage of electric current between the terminal portions 51, 61 is only possible when the mechanical coupling between the component of connection 5 and the connection counter-component 6 is correctly implemented. In particular, for this purpose, the terminal portion 51 and the counter- terminal portion 61 are made of electrically conductive material. 35 remaining parts of the connection component 5 and the counter-component of connection 6 are made of electrically non-conductive material, such as example in plastic material. When the connecting component 5 and the connecting counter-component 6 are mechanically connected to each other, the terminal portion 51 and the counter- 5 terminal portion 61 are preferably in direct contact with each other. According to a preferred embodiment, shown in Figures 1 through 5, the portion terminal 51 and terminal counter-portion 61 may each be arranged in correspondence of the internal space to the through hole of the respective component connection 5 and connection counter-component 6. 10 Preferably, the terminal portion 51 and the terminal counter-portion 61 are protruding from an internal lateral surface of the aforementioned through hole, with the protruding part comprising a shaped surface, which may also be a flat surface. The configuration is such that, when the component of connection 5 and the connection counter-component 6 are correctly 15 mechanically connected to each other to create the fluid-tight conduit, the terminal portion 51 and the terminal counter-portion 61 are arranged internally to this duct and they abut one another, in particular in correspondence of their shaped surfaces, to create an electrical connection. According to this treatment, only when a current flow is detected 20 electric between the terminal portion 51 and the terminal counter-portion 61, the generator of gas 4 can be activated to release the gas and cause the element to inflate inflatable 1. Can the control unit 7 detect this necessary condition upon activation or, alternatively – but also further in addition, so that the redundancy ensures greater reliability of the proposed solution – of the means 25 dedicated included in the gas generator 4. According to a further preferred aspect, the electrical connection between the contro- connection component 6, more specifically the terminal counterpart 51, and the gas generator 4 is made by a first cable 66. Also the component of connection 5 may include a second cable 55 configured to be in 30 communication of electric current respectively with the terminal portion 51 and with control unit 7. In the context of this discussion, the term cable refers not only to a single electrical cable, but also a plurality of cables and / or a plurality of electrical connections, arranged to present their terminals free and electrically 35 conductive at the terminal counter-portion 61 and / or the portion terminal 51. Therefore, we can speak indifferently of 'cable' or 'cables' of electrical connection. The terminal counter-portion 61, like the terminal portion 51, integrates a electrical terminal, and may consist of a free terminal end of the cable 5 66, 55. The cable 55, 66 is preferably permanently connected integral with the respective connection component 5 or counter-component of connection 6, for example, can be “drowned” in the latter when they are made of plastic material. Alternatively, the terminal portion 51 and the terminal counter-portion 61 10 can be replaced by a magnet with activator function and a device sensitive as a switch sensitive to a magnetic field, such as for example a Hall sensor or a so-called reed switch. When the magnet approaches the sensor, the generator can be put into an active state, or it can then be gas sent between two inflatable elements connected to each other. 15 In accordance with the above, the connection between the two components of connection 5, 6 is established thanks to a solution that integrates the 'plastic' part (mechanical) connection with the 'electrical' one / proximity sensor. It is also the 'closed circuit' state (circulation of electric current) is guaranteed only in the moment when the mechanical coupling between the two connection components 5, 6 20 is realized. The establishment of the electrical connection therefore involves performing a low-risk operation for the user, since the components of connection 5, 6 to be handled to establish their mechanical coupling, and therefore also the electrical connection between the respective electrical terminals, are made of non-conductive (plastic) material. 25 According to a preferred embodiment, the proposed apparatus comprises a casing 3 which houses the gas generator 4, acting as its container. The casing 3 is a bag fluid-tight which includes an outlet passage 13 for the gas released from the gas generator 4. The outlet passage 13 is configured to put in communication between the inside of the casing 3 and an area outside it. This area 30 external can be an additional inflatable element, a bag, a casing, a chamber, but also the space inside a duct configured for the passage of a fluid. The outlet passage 13 may be unique, and the casing 3 may not provide additional outlets for fluid exchange with the outside. According to this variant, illustrated 35 in Figures 6 to 9, the connecting counter-component 6 is positioned in correspondence of the exit passage 13. The connection counter-component 6 can be fixed to the casing 3 according to the methods already illustrated for fixing of the connection component 5 to the inflatable element 1. In accordance with this configuration, the (only) connection between the casing 3 containing the generator 5 gas 4 and the inflatable element 1 is made by the connection device 10. According to further variants, the casing 3 can comprise a plurality of passages outlet, to allow the (simultaneous) supply of fluid to a plurality of inflatable elements, of the type already described. 10 According to the present discussion, the casing 3 can be configured to be able to assume a deflated condition and an inflated condition. Preferably, the casing 3 may be adapted to implement an airbag technology, and in fact be configured as an inflatable element containing its own gas generator 4. According to preferred aspects of the invention shown in Figures 8 and 9, the element 15 inflatable 1 further features at least one respective outlet passage 92. The output passage 92 is configured to communicate the interior of the first inflatable element 1 with an external area to it. This external area can be an additional inflatable element, a bag, a casing, a chamber, but also the space inside a conduit configured for the passage of a fluid. 20 The outlet passage 92 is designed to allow the propagation of the incoming gas from the gas generator 4 to a further connected inflatable element 9 to the inflatable element 1 at the same exit passage 92. For this purpose, a further connection counter-component 6, as per already described, is positioned in correspondence with the second exit passage 92 and 25 fixed to the first inflatable element 1. In turn, the further inflatable element 9 shall include a respective gas inlet duct, equipped with a respective connection component 5 as already described, to allow the realization of a connection device for mechanical coupling and electric / proximity, fluid-tight, between the two inflatable elements 1 and 9, arranged in 30 series. In accordance with this aspect, the apparatus 100, 101 allows the activation of a plurality of inflatable elements 1, 9 arranged in series, according to a configuration modular, by activating a single gas generator 4, provided that all mutual connections between the casing and the inflatable elements are 35 correctly established, that is, that the passage of current is verified within the respective connection devices 10. The number of inflatable elements that is possible to arrange in series depends on the capacity of the gas generator, the desired pressure in the inflatable elements when inflated, and by the volume of these last ones. 5 The connection between the inflatable elements, as well as between the casing and one or more of the inflatable elements, it is reversible, therefore the apparatus 100, 101 can be customized by adding / removing inflatable elements. In this case, the any one or more exit passages of the last inflatable element to which no additional inflatable element must be coupled can be closed, 10 ensuring the seal, by means of appropriately fitted cap elements configured. This cap element may also comprise a respective connection component (or counter-component), to create a coupling which inhibits the activation of the gas generator if not correctly implemented, as already described. 15 As for the control unit 7, this can be included in the inflatable element. According to this configuration, the apparatus is particularly compact, and no wiring is arranged externally to the element inflatable 1 or to the casing 3, as visible in Figure 6. Therefore, the apparatus does not has exposed electrical cables / wires. 20 This increases the life and reliability of the device, since the connections electrical are protected and not directly exposed to shocks and impacts. According to this configuration, when the electrical connection is established between the portion terminal 51 and the terminal counter-portion 61, a connection is also established electrical between the control unit 7 and the gas generator 4, in wired mode. 25 Therefore, the control unit 7 cannot send the activation signal to the generator of gas 4 when this electrical connection is interrupted. Alternatively, the central unit 7 can be arranged externally to the element inflatable, as shown in Figures 8 and 9. In this case, there are external cables to it, when the connection of the gas generator 4 with the control unit 7 is 30 made in wired mode, as in the apparatus 100 of Figure 8. Such cables can be conducted by the respective connection component 5 externally to the inflatable element that carries it through appropriate holes or openings, such as shown in Figure 8, configured to ensure fluid tightness of the element connection. 35 According to a further aspect of this discussion, it is noted that the apparatus 101 may include a control unit 7' configured to exchange data in wireless mode, as shown in Figure 9. The 7' control unit is configured for control the activation of the gas generator 4 wirelessly. This does not excludes the additional possibility of exchanging data in a contextual manner 5 wired, as described above. According to this configuration, together with the wireless control for activation of gas generator 4, it is foreseen transmission / reception of a corresponding verification signal to the component connection 5, which confirms the passage of current between the component connection 5 and the connection counter-component 6. In the absence of 10 reception / detection of said verification signal, activation of the gas generator 4 is inhibited. The subject matter of this disclosure has been described so far with reference to its embodiments. It is to be understood that other forms of embodiment may exist. realizations that pertain to the same inventive core, all falling within 15 within the scope of protection of the claims set forth below.
