Description
DESCRIPTION of the patent for Industrial Invention from the title: “ WCOMPOSITIONCONCENT TEDIOORIGIN VEGETABLES ARRIVE LL AFA BB BACKGROUND MATERIAL ” of DERMACOLORS . R . L . of Italian nationality gives : VIADELFRA SS INO , 5 - 5 6 0 22 CASTELFRANCODISO TT O (PI) The inventors : MEU CC IA ndrea 10 IF YOU HEAR LL TECHNICAL The present invention relates to a composition tanning of plant origin derived from bean husks decaostate , waste materials of the production of cocoa. 15 STATE OF ART As you know, tanning is the treatment to which I am subjected to the skins in order to preserve and process them. After the riviera operations the skin is still putrescible and must therefore be subjected to tanning. 20 Tanning is the chemical operation that transforms the skin putrescible into a rot-proof material. The tanning activity is very ancient and has been in existence for many centuries. the technology has remained practically unchanged, with the use here only water, lime, vegetable tannins and fats 25 animalietantaa tt ivitamanual . Today there are mainly two types of tanning: chrome tanning and vegetable tanning. Chrome tanning involves the use of chromium salts which, reacting with the protein chains of the skin, they give it stability over time. Tannin tanning involves the fixing of tannin vegetable by the collagen present in the skin which is thus stabilized. Vegetable tannins are complex substances, with a 10 phenolic, contained in all vegetables. Naturally some Some vegetables contain larger quantities, others smaller. Tannins take their name from the plant from which they come and are will therefore speak of chestnut tannins, of smoke tree, of so mm a cc o, diquebracho, dimimosa, diquercia, and cc. Harm 15 all tanned leather in shades of brown, more or less intense but with a different flame depending on the plant of origin. The inventors of the present invention have created an alternative vegetable tanning composition 20 to the tannin tanning solutions used up to now. In particular, the tanning composition of the present invention compared to those of the art tannin note, use a waste product instead of using compounds obtained from specific production processes, the 25 which brings important advantages in terms of both production both environmental. Furthermore, the tanning composition of this invention compared to those of the known art with tannin, requires a smaller number of additives, increasing further 1 advantages in terms of both production and environmental. In fact, generally the quantity of used in the tanning solutions of the prior art is extremely high and therefore it is necessary to add further ingredients useful for diluting the 10 disadvantages that a massive presence of tannins entails. Finally, the tanning composition of this invention has the advantage of giving the treated leather a particular and extremely appreciable aroma. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION 15 The subject of this invention is a composition vegetable tanning agent to be used in a tanning phase of the leather; said tanning composition being characterised from the fact that it comprises 55 to 65% of peel by weight roasted and ground cocoa beans into equal sizes or 20 min ori of 25um; 5 to 10% by weight of a dispersant of naphthalene nature; 10 to 15% by weight of a tannin natural; from 5 to 15% by weight of adjuvant salts. The present invention uses the hulls of broad beans roasted cocoa, as a waste from chocolate factories, for 25 convert it into a vegetable tanning agent to be used in the process of tanning and retanning leather. In this way, without compromising the effectiveness of the tanning phase, the use of non-renewable raw materials is reduced while imparting an undoubtedly appreciable aroma to the skin. In practice, the present invention realizes a fine grinding of the roasted cocoa bean husks and the mix it with natural and chemical additives in such a way as to to make a tanning product based on broad bean husks 10 roasted cocoas that in themselves do not possess any capacity tanning agents. Preferably, called a natural dispersant naphthalene is included in the group composed of naphthalene sodium sulfonate, naphthalene sulfonatea mmonic. 15 Preferably, said natural tannin is included in the group composed of quebraco, tara, mimosa, chestnut. more preferably, the natural tannin is TARA tannin. The use of tannin d① TARA implies that there is no felling of the plant for the production of tannin. 20 Preferably, said adjuvant salts are chosen in the group composed of sodium sulfate, sodium chloride, acid oxalic, edta; more preferably called adjuvant salts they consist of a mixture of sodium sulfate and acid EDTA; even more preferably, said adjuvant salts are 25 consisting of a mixture of 6 to 10% by weight of sodium sulfate and 1 to 3% by weight of acid EDTA. A further object of the present invention is the use of roasted and chopped cocoa bean husks into small pieces equal to or less than 25um in a tanning composition and in a weight concentration between 55 and 65. Preferably, said tanning composition comprises 5 to 10% by weight of a naphthalene-based dispersant; 10 to 15% by weight of a natural tannin; 5 to 15% by weight of① Adjuvant salts. 10 EXAMPLES OF REAL ACTION A tanning composition has been created according to 1 ' invention ( COMPINV ) , which has been tested in a tanning phase. The same tanning phase was repeated with only 15 changes to have used, as an alternative to the tanning composition according to the invention (COMP IN V), a product of the known art generally used with effectiveness and comprising a synthetic tannin derived from oil. 20 In Table I the composition is reported in % by weight. of the tanning composition used in the examples. Table I % by weight Cocoa bean husks 60 toasted and ground Dispersant* 10 T a nn inodi T ara 1 0 Cellulose sulfite 10 S odiosulfate 8 EDTA acid 2 * Sodium naphthalene sulfonate Below is reported in table form (Table II) the procedure used in the tanning phase. In the table The tanning phase is divided into a plurality of subphases defined in terms of time, temperature and adding ingredients. In particular, the weight % indicated in Table II are refer to the weight of the treated skin and all the sub-phases reported provide that the treatment mixture is 10 kept under agitation. (mechanical operations) Following the above procedure, 1the two respective treated skins (with the use variant alternative of COMP INV and Dermalene WG conc) are were compared to each other in terms of fullness and roundness. As anyone skilled in the art knows, these two Skin characteristics are relevant to define the quality of the treated leather. The comparison proved that the leather obtained from the treatment with the composition of the invention (COMP INV) 10 is comparable in fullness and plumpness to skin obtained from treatment with the product of the known art Dermalene WG conc. The composition of Dermalene WG conc includes tannins in a quantity significantly greater than the composition 15 of the invention. Furthermore, the tannins present in Dermalene WG conc are derived from petroleum. In the composition Dermalene WG conc the presence of a greater quantity of tannins also requires the presence of a greater quantity of additives than the composition 20 of the invention. From what has been reported above, it is clear how tanning composition of the present invention 1''important advantage of using a waste product (such as cocoa bean husks) which would otherwise be had to be subjected to a disposal process, with the related costs that this would have entailed. In other words, the cocoa bean husks from the product of waste, which represents a cost for the company that produces that is, they have become one with the present invention economic resource. The above translates into a significant 10 advantages in economic and environmental terms. An additional advantage in economic terms and environmental comes from the fact that the tanning composition according to the present invention comprises a smaller number of tannins and, consequently, fewer additives. 15 In fact, it should be considered that the ingredients used in the tanning compositions constitute waste and that, as such, will have to be treated with 1 consequent costs in economic and environmental terms. Another interesting advantage of this 20 invention stems from the fact that the tank composition according to the present invention imparts to the skin between tt ataunaromaparticle , which has been considered particularly pleasant and that constitutes a value added to the finished product. 25 To the inventors it was surprising how the use of of the ebu cc of the efavedicacao , chedipers is not tanning power, has been able to ensure an effective skin tanning treatment by 1''employment of① a significantly lower tannin quantity compared to that used in the tanning stages of the procedure of the known art.
