Abstract

This product is a crossword puzzle toy that can be used for brain training (commonly known as "brain training"), intellectual development, and stress relief. It consists of a storage box, a drawer that can be inserted into and removed from the storage box, and multiple pieces. The storage box has a drawer opening that opens in one direction (see [Reference Perspective View]). The drawer can be closed by inserting it into the drawer opening of the storage box (see [Plan View, Right Side View, Left Side View, Bottom View, and Reference Perspective View showing the drawer in the closed state]). There are a total of 70 pieces of 14 types (1st to 14th) (see [Reference Diagrams showing the 1st to 6th faces of the 14 types of pieces]). There are 8 pieces in the first row corresponding to the "a" row, 8 pieces in the second row corresponding to the "ka" row, 3 pieces in the third row corresponding to the "ga" row, 7 pieces in the fourth row corresponding to the "sa" row, 4 pieces in the fifth row corresponding to the "za" row, 6 pieces in the sixth row corresponding to the "ta" row, 3 pieces in the seventh row corresponding to the "da" row, 4 pieces in the eighth row corresponding to the "na" row, 4 pieces in the ninth row corresponding to the "ha" row, 4 pieces in the tenth row corresponding to the "ba" row, 2 pieces in the eleventh row corresponding to the "pa" row, 5 pieces in the twelfth row corresponding to the "ma" row, 7 pieces in the thirteenth row corresponding to the "ya" and "wa" rows, and 5 pieces in the fourteenth row corresponding to the "ra" row and the long vowel mark. The total number of pieces and the number of each piece can be increased or decreased depending on the crossword puzzle problem and the number of squares. The first to twelfth pieces include not only characters from the "a" row to the "o" row but also black squares (■), the thirteenth piece includes characters for two rows, and the fourteenth piece includes not only characters from the "a" row to the "o" row but also a long vowel mark (ー), thus suppressing an increase in the number of pieces and arranging the characters in a way that is suitable for a crossword puzzle. In other words, this product was designed with the aim of minimizing and optimizing the number of pieces when playing a crossword puzzle as a "three-dimensional block toy." This is achieved by placing black squares on the sixth face of the pieces for the "a" row to the "ma" row, combining the three characters of the "ya" row and the "wa" row into one piece, and adding a long vowel mark to the sixth face of the piece for the "ra" row. The first, second, fourth, sixth, eighth, ninth, twelfth, thirteenth, and fourteenth pieces are painted in different colors to make it easier to recognize the target character. When using this item, the pieces are removed from the drawer and placed in the recesses formed on the top surface of the storage box (see [Reference Perspective View Showing Usage]). When playing a crossword puzzle with this item, for example, first, using pieces 1 through 12, place the pieces in the recesses on the top surface of the storage box so that their sixth side (■) faces upwards, according to the arrangement of the black squares in the pre-prepared puzzle. After placing the pieces according to the arrangement of all the black squares in the puzzle, think of the answer from the key sentence of the puzzle, and use the remaining pieces to place them in the recesses on the top surface of the storage box so that the letters of the answer face upwards.
