To provide a digestion system and a heating control method that readily control the temperature within a tank.SOLUTION: A digestion system comprises: a tank for digesting sludge; a first pipe for supplying excess sludge to the tank; a first heater for heating the excess sludge in the first pipe using a first fluid; a first bypass pipe provided in the first pipe and bypassing the first heater; a second pipe for supplying the first fluid to the first heater; a second bypass pipe provided in the second pipe and bypassing the first heater; and a control device that controls at least one of supplying the excess sludge to the first bypass pipe and supplying the first fluid to the second bypass pipe based on the temperature relating to digestion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
