Abstract

To provide an inkjet printer including a first piping path connecting a sub-tank to a pump arranged between a buffer tank and the sub-tank, and a second piping path connecting the first piping path to a main tank, wherein when a piping side joint part on the second piping path side is not normally connected to a tank side joint part on the main tank side, an ink circulation operation can be prevented from being performed between the main tank and the buffer tank.SOLUTION: When a pipe side joint 35 and a tank side joint 36 are normally connected to each other, if a pump 14 is driven in a state in which on-off valves 24 and 25 are open, a larger amount of ink flows from a buffer tank 12 to a main tank 13 than to a sub tank 11. A controller opens the on-off valves 24 and 25 and drives the pump 14 for a first time in a state where an amount of ink in the sub-tank 11 is constant, and executes a confirmation operation of determining whether or not the amount of ink in the sub-tank 11 exceeds a reference amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
