[Solution] The passive Q-switched laser device of the present disclosure includes an excitation light source that outputs excitation light of a first wavelength by a drive current, a laser medium that is excited by the excitation light and outputs oscillation light of a second wavelength, a saturable absorber that absorbs the oscillation light from the laser medium and increases its transmittance, and emits the oscillation light, a photodetector that detects the spontaneous emission intensity of the second wavelength, a delay time calculation unit that calculates a predicted delay time ΔT' until the emission of the oscillation light based on the emission intensity detected by the photodetector, and a control unit that adjusts the value of the drive current according to the predicted delay time ΔT'.
