AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing waste heat recovery systems consume excessive reheating fuel due to the need to heat the entire exhaust gas stream, leading to inefficiencies in energy recovery and increased fuel consumption.

Method used

The system divides the duct into two spaces with a partition, placing the auxiliary burner and superheater in one space and adjusting the exhaust gas flow rate using a damper, allowing targeted heating and reducing fuel consumption.

Benefits of technology

This configuration enhances heat exchange efficiency, reduces fuel consumption, and enables more efficient recovery of exhaust heat as energy by heating only the necessary amount of exhaust gas to the required temperature.

Abstract

To provide an exhaust heat recovery system capable of more efficiently recovering exhaust heat as energy.SOLUTION: An exhaust heat recovery system includes: a duct configured to cause an exhaust gas to flow therein; a partitioning section extending in an extending direction of the duct and configured to partition an inner space of the duct into a first space and a second space; an evaporator disposed in the duct to be located on a downstream side in an exhaust gas flowing direction of the partitioning section; a superheater disposed in the first space and on an upstream side in the exhaust gas flowing direction of the evaporator; an economizer disposed in the duct so as to be located on the downstream side in the exhaust gas flowing direction of the evaporator; an auxiliary burner disposed in the first space and on the upstream side in the exhaust gas flowing direction of the superheater; a flow rate adjustment section configured to enable adjustment of a flow rate of the exhaust gas in the first space; and a control section configured to control the adjustment amount of the flow rate of the exhaust gas in the first space by using the flow rate adjustment section.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
