Ballistic armour vests

Abstract

The invention relates to a ballistic armour vest comprising an outer carrier formed from high-strength, water- and abrasion- resistant fabric and configured to accommodate front and back ballistic panels within its internal pockets for secure positioning. The vest includes adjustable fastening elements configured to enable fit adjustment and facilitate donning and removal. A modular attachment system is also provided for integration of external accessories. Soft amour panels comprise aramid and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers configured to provide handgun threat protection, while hard armour panels comprise metallic and composite materials configured to provide rifle threat protection. The vest is arranged to support multiple protection levels through interchangeable configurations. Testing conducted in accordance with National Institute of Justice standards demonstrates resistance to specified projectiles and deformation within prescribed limits.
