Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present specification discloses a compressed powder cosmetic composition and a cosmetic product comprising the same. Background Technology
[0002] Cosmetic compositions in the form of compressed powder formulations, which are molded products in the shape of compressed powder, have always faced limitations arising from the process of forming powder into a molded product. One of these problems is that powder scattering occurs due to the inherent oil-absorbing properties of powders, causing dryness when applied to the skin and making it prone to flaking. Typically, this has been compensated for by adding oil as a binder. However, unlike compositions in liquid formulations, compositions in the form of powder formulations do not form a continuous phase, which limits the uniform dispersion of oil. Furthermore, when oil is added in amounts exceeding a certain level, the cohesive force between the powders becomes too strong, leading to caking where the powders clump together on the surface of the composition and difficulties such as poor payoff. Prior art literature
[0003] (Patent Document 0001) KR 10-2018-0029480 A The problem to be solved
[0004] The problem that the present disclosure aims to solve is to provide a compressed powder cosmetic composition that contains pigments of a general size and does not exhibit phenomena such as caking or payoff even when a high amount of oil is added for adhesion. means of solving the problem
[0005] In order to solve the above problem, one embodiment of the present disclosure is,
[0006] As a compressed powder cosmetic composition,
[0007] Powder having a particle size distribution D90 of 10 to 25 μm;
[0008] Non-volatile oil; and
[0009] One or more nonionic surfactants selected from polyethylene glycol-based and polyglyceryl ester-based surfactants;
[0010] A composition comprising Effects of the invention
[0011] One embodiment of the present disclosure can provide a compressed powder cosmetic composition that improves dryness and enhances adhesion to the skin by including a combination of a pigment of a standard size, a high content of oil, and a nonionic surfactant, while simultaneously solving problems such as caking or payoff caused by oil. Brief explanation of the drawing
[0012] Figure 1 is a figure showing the change in moisture absorption rate according to the type of nonionic surfactant included as an embodiment of the present disclosure. Specific details for implementing the invention
[0013] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.
[0014] The embodiments of the present disclosure disclosed herein are illustrative for illustrative purposes only, and the embodiments of the present disclosure may be practiced in various forms and should not be interpreted as being limited to the embodiments described herein. As the present disclosure is subject to various modifications and may take various forms, the embodiments are not intended to limit the present disclosure to a specific disclosed form and should be understood to include all modifications, equivalents, and substitutions that fall within the spirit and scope of the present disclosure. The singular expression includes the plural expression unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. In this application, terms such as “comprising” or “having” are intended to indicate the presence of the features, numbers, steps, actions, components, parts, or combinations thereof described in the specification, and do not exclude the existence or addition of one or more other features, numbers, steps, actions, components, parts, or combinations thereof.
[0015] In the present disclosure, the term "caking" refers to the phenomenon in which powder, i.e., powder or particles, aggregate on the surface of a powder molded article and form a hard lump.
[0016] In the present disclosure, the term "pay off" refers to the property of powder particles adhering well to the hand or applicator when using a cosmetic product.
[0017] One embodiment of the present disclosure may provide a compressed powder cosmetic composition comprising: a powder having a particle size distribution D90 of 10 to 25 μm; a non-volatile oil; and one or more nonionic surfactants selected from polyethylene glycol-based and polyglyceryl ester-based.
[0018] In the present disclosure, the term 'powder' is used with the same meaning as 'powder'. In one embodiment, the powder may be in the form of a powder and may be an inorganic powder, an organic powder, or an inorganic / organic composite powder. In one embodiment, the powder may be applied to the skin to provide functions such as shielding, covering unevenness, UV protection, color expression, pearlescent effect, radiance, three-dimensional effect, moisturizing effect, whitening improvement, wrinkle coverage, and maintenance of the makeup film. For example, the organic powder may include nylon, PMMA, polystyrene powder, polyethylene powder, cellulose powder, etc. For example, the inorganic powder may include muscovite, synthetic mica, sericite, kaolin, titanium dioxide, titanium oxide-coated mica, aluminum powder, iron sulfate, black iron oxide, carbon black, barium sulfate, silica, zeolite, etc.
[0019] In one embodiment, the powder may have a particle size distribution D90 of 10 to 25 μm. In this disclosure, the term "particle size" is used interchangeably with "particle diameter" or "diameter." The particle size distribution represents the ratio of a group of particles within a given particle size range to the entire particle group as a percentage (cumulative percentage), and a plot illustrating this is a particle size distribution graph. The D90 may also be represented as D(0.9) or D(V, 0.9). The D90 refers to the particle size in which 90% of the particles are distributed in the particle size distribution graph, that is, the particle size in which the cumulative distribution percentage from small to large is 90%. For example, if the D90 is 25 μm, it means that in a specific particle group, the number of particles with a particle size of 25 μm or less accounts for 90% of the total number of particles. As one embodiment, the particle size distribution can be measured using the Mastersizer 2000 from Malvern Panalytical, which is a ray diffraction particle size analyzer, but the method or type is not limited to any particle size analyzer capable of measuring the particle size distribution.
[0020] In one embodiment, the particle size distribution D90 of the powder may specifically be 10 μm or more, 15 μm or more, or 20 μm or more, or 25 μm or less, 20 μm or less, or 15 μm or less. If the particle size distribution of the powder exceeds 25 μm, elasticity increases, resulting in poor moldability even in compressed powder formulations of general composition; however, while caking may be reduced, shielding power decreases and glossiness becomes excessively high, making it difficult to achieve various desired effects as a base makeup cosmetic intended to cover skin imperfections and create a beautiful skin tone. If the particle size distribution of the powder is less than 10 μm, elasticity is low, and generally, oil absorption increases, making it prone to problems such as caking.
[0021] In one embodiment, the powder may have a shape such as a plate, a spherical shape, or a rod shape. In one embodiment, the powder may be a combination of powders having one or more shapes. Specifically, the powder may partially include plate-shaped powder. If only spherical powder is included, molding is not possible due to a lack of cohesiveness, and while spherical powder is often intended for spreadability or spreadability, resulting in poor adhesion, this can be compensated for by including plate-shaped powder as in one embodiment. Additionally, spherical powder may appear excessively matte due to strong diffuse reflection in terms of optical properties and lack of gloss, but if plate-shaped powder is included as in one embodiment, a natural gloss can be expressed through appropriate specular reflection. More specifically, the powder may include plate-shaped powder in an amount of 30 to 80 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the powder. In one embodiment, the powder may include plate-shaped powder in an amount of 30 parts by weight or more, 40 parts by weight or more, 50 parts by weight or more, 60 parts by weight or more, or 80 parts by weight or more, based on 100 parts by weight of the powder, and may include 80 parts by weight or less, 70 parts by weight or less, 60 parts by weight or less, 50 parts by weight or less, 13 parts by weight or less, or 40 parts by weight or less. In one embodiment, the plate-shaped powder may include talc, mica, synthetic mica, alumina, etc. In one embodiment, the spherical powder may include silica, nylon, PMMA, PMSQ, etc. In one embodiment, the powder may further include a coloring agent such as titanium dioxide and iron oxide, a UV-blocking functional ingredient such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, and a molding aid such as zinc stearate and magnesium myristate.
[0022] In one embodiment, the plate-shaped powder may be a composite powder combined with titanium dioxide. In one embodiment, the thickness of the titanium dioxide may be 40 to 60 nm, which is known to emit white light within 50 weight percent of the content in the composite powder, and if it deviates from this, it is unsuitable for emitting blue, green, yellow, or red interference light as the thickness increases.
[0023] More specifically, the composition of the powder includes plate-shaped pigments such as talc, mica, synthetic mica, and alumina, spherical pigments such as silica, nylon, PMMA, and PMSQ, and coloring agents such as titanium dioxide and iron oxide. In addition, it may include titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, which are UV-blocking functional ingredients, and may include molding aids such as zinc stearate and magnesium myristate.
[0024] In one embodiment, the non-volatile oil may be included in an amount of 12 to 22 weight% based on the total weight of the composition as a component functioning as a binder for the powder in a compressed powder formulation. Specifically, the non-volatile oil may be in an amount of 12 weight% or more, 13 weight% or more, 14 weight% or more, 15 weight% or more, 16 weight% or more, 17 weight% or more, 18 weight% or more, 19 weight% or more, 20 weight% or more, or 21 weight% or more based on the total weight of the composition, and may be in an amount of 22 weight% or less, 21 weight% or less, 20 weight% or less, 19 weight% or less, 18 weight% or less, 17 weight% or less, 16 weight% or less, 15 weight% or less, 14 weight% or less, or 13 weight% or less. If the non-volatile oil is included in an amount of less than 12 weight%, it may cause a dry sensation when applied to the skin and may have reduced adhesion to the skin. If the above non-volatile oil exceeds 22 weight percent, caking may occur, and if included in excessive amounts, a jelly-like formulation may be formed. In a jelly-like formulation, the oil coats the powder, resulting in a dominant oil sensation; therefore, the soft finish and matte finish typically intended for powder formulations cannot be achieved.
[0025] In one embodiment, the non-volatile oil may be one or more or two or more selected from ester-based oils, silicone-based oils, and hydrocarbon-based oils. In one embodiment, the ester oil is octyldodecyl stearoyl stearate, coco-caprylate / caprate, hexyl laurate, dicaprylyl carbonate, diisostearyl malate, butylene glycol dicaprylate / dicaprate, cetyl ethylhexanoate, triethylhexanoin, dicetearyl dimer dilinoleate, caprylic / capric triglyceride, polyglyceryl-2 triisostearate Examples include Triisostearate and Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate. In one embodiment, the hydrocarbon-based oil may be an example of Hydrogenated Caster Oil Dimer Dilinoleate, Polybutene, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Phytosqualane, etc. In one embodiment, the silicone-based oil may be an example of Dimethicone, Phenyl Trimethicone, Diphenylsiloxy Phenyl Trimethicone, Diphenyl Dimethicone, etc.
[0026] In one embodiment, the nonionic surfactant may include one or more types selected from polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyglyceryl ester systems. Since such nonionic surfactants exist as a paste or liquid at room temperature, they are easy to mold into a compressed powder formulation without heating. Specifically, the nonionic surfactant may include polysorbate 80, polysorbate 85, polysorbate 60, PEG-10 dimethicone, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, polyglyceryl-10-dioleate, polyglyceryl-6 caprylate, sorbitan isostearate, polyglyceryl-10 stearate, polyglyceryl-6 dicaprate, polyglyceryl-5 oleate, polyglyceryl-10 diisostearate, polyglyceryl-3 distearate, etc.
[0027] In one embodiment, the nonionic surfactant may be included in an amount of 0.5 to 5 weight% based on the total weight of the composition. Specifically, the nonionic surfactant may be 0.5 weight% or more, 1 weight% or more, 1.5 weight% or more, 2 weight% or more, 2.5 weight% or more, 3 weight% or more, 3.5 weight% or more, 4 weight% or more, or 4.5 weight% or more based on the total weight of the composition, and may be 5 weight% or less, 4.5 weight% or less, 4 weight% or less, 3.5 weight% or less, 3 weight% or less, 2.5 weight% or less, 2 weight% or less, 1.5 weight% or less, or 1 weight% or less. If the content of the above surfactant exceeds 5% by weight, it may be impossible to formulate it into a compressed powder formulation, and if it is less than 0.5% by weight, the dispersibility of the powder decreases, which may cause caking between the powder and the oil, and it may be difficult to formulate it into a compressed powder formulation.
[0028] In one embodiment, the nonionic surfactant may include a surfactant having an HLB of 6 or higher. Specifically, in one embodiment, the nonionic surfactant may consist of a surfactant having an HLB of 6 or higher, or may include a surfactant having an HLB of 6 or higher and a surfactant having an HLB of 3 or higher but less than 6 together. In one embodiment, when a surfactant having an HLB of 6 or higher and a surfactant having an HLB of 3 or higher but less than 6 are included together, the surfactant having an HLB of 3 or higher but less than 6 cannot exceed 50% by weight of the total weight of the surfactant. In one embodiment, by using a mixture of the surfactant having an HLB of 6 or higher and the surfactant having an HLB of 3 or higher but less than 6, the dispersibility of the powder is secured by the surfactant having an HLB of 6 or higher, and at the same time, the problem of makeup smudging due to the strong hydrophilicity of the surfactant having an HLB of 6 or higher attracting sweat generated on the skin can be compensated for.
[0029] Generally, powders used in compressed powder formulations exhibit better moldability as particle size decreases, making molding easier even with low oil content; however, this results in an unsatisfactory user experience due to powder lifting and dryness. Consequently, increasing the oil content improves moldability but also raises the probability of caking. On the other hand, larger particle sizes require a greater amount of oil for stable molding, but there is a limit to increasing particle size when considering the effectiveness of the cosmetic.
[0030] On the other hand, one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a powder having a particle size distribution D90 of 10 to 25 μm suitable for use as a cosmetic, together with a high content of oil, and also incorporates a specific type of nonionic surfactant, thereby enabling molding into a compressed powder formulation without caking while ensuring excellent usability and uniform dispersibility. That is, by including a nonionic surfactant as described above, one embodiment of the present disclosure can stably include a large amount of oil even while including a powder with a D90 of 25 μm or less, which is prone to caking.
[0031] In the above view, a composition according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise, with respect to 100 weight% of the composition, 73 to 87.5 weight% of the powder; 12 to 22 weight% of the non-volatile oil; and 0.5 to 5 weight% of the nonionic surfactant. More specifically, one embodiment may provide a composition comprising, with respect to 100 weight% of the composition, 73 to 87.5 weight% of the powder; 12 to 22 weight% of the non-volatile oil; and 0.5 to 5 weight% of the nonionic surfactant.
[0032] A compressed powder cosmetic composition according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may be a solid composition, specifically having a hardness of 1.5 to 5 N. The hardness may be measured, for example, using a ball hardness meter with the model name Sun Rheometer CR-500DX (Manufacturer: SUN Scientific. co. ltd). If the hardness of the composition is lower than 1.5 N, it may be difficult to formulate as it exhibits a jelly-like or dough-like consistency rather than a compressed powder formulation, even if it is a solid, and if it exceeds 5 N, it may be difficult to pay off.
[0033] In one embodiment, the composition may be formulated, for example, into a makeup base, solid foundation, concealer, powder, eyebrow, eyeshadow, blusher, twin cake, sunscreen, etc., but is not limited thereto. These compositions may be prepared according to conventional methods in the art.
[0034] In addition, the cosmetic composition according to one embodiment of the present disclosure may further include functional additives and ingredients included in general cosmetic compositions. The functional additives may include ingredients selected from the group consisting of water-soluble vitamins, oil-soluble vitamins, high molecular weight peptides, high molecular weight polysaccharides, sphingolipids, and seaweed extracts. Other ingredients included may include oil components, moisturizers, emollients, neutralizing agents, organic and inorganic pigments, organic powders, UV absorbers, preservatives, disinfectants, antioxidants, plant extracts, pH adjusters, alcohols, colorants, fragrances, etc. Other ingredients that may be included in the composition of the present disclosure are not limited thereto, and the amount of the ingredients may be within a range that does not impair the purpose and effect of the present disclosure.
[0035] The present disclosure may provide, as one embodiment, a cosmetic product comprising the compressed powder cosmetic composition. Additionally, the cosmetic product according to the above embodiments may further include an applicator for taking the compressed powder cosmetic composition. For example, the applicator may include a puff, a tip, a brush, etc. Additionally, as one embodiment, the cosmetic product may further include a container comprising a lower portion capable of containing the composition and a mirror, etc., and a top portion of a lid, but is not limited thereto.
[0036] The present disclosure will be explained more specifically through the following examples. However, the following examples are provided for illustrative purposes only to aid in understanding the present disclosure, and the scope and range of the present disclosure are not limited thereto.
[0037] [Test Example 1]
[0038] The following experiment was performed to verify the quality attributes according to the particle size and oil content of the powder included in the composition according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0039] Specifically, after preparing a cosmetic composition in the form of a conventional compressed powder formulation in the industry with the composition shown in the table below, the occurrence of caking (ease of payoff), hardness, and usability (adhesion and moisturizing effect) were analyzed as quality attributes.
[0040] The method for verifying each quality attribute is as follows.
[0041] Analysis of Caking Occurrence (Ease of Payoff)
[0042] We verified whether each compressed powder formulation remained in the same state as the initial state even after repeated payoffs using the hand or an applicator.
[0043] Hardness measurement
[0044] The force (N) received when lowered 2 mm from the surface of each compressed powder formulation was measured using a ball hardness measuring instrument (Manufacturer: Sun Scientific Co. LTD., Product Name: Sun Rheometer CR-500DX). Typically, general formulations are 2 to 5 N, while dough or jelly formulations are 1.5 N or less.
[0045] Evaluation of user experience (adhesion and moisturizing effect)
[0046] Each compressed powder formulation was paid off in a certain amount using a hand or applicator, applied to the forearm, and evaluated by assessing the qualitatively perceived degree of adhesion and moisture.
[0047]
[0048]
[0050] As shown in the table above, when a small amount of non-volatile oil was included (Comparative Example 1), the moisturizing sensation and adhesion were very low. Even when the oil was included at 12-22 weight%, Comparative Examples 2-4, which did not contain the nonionic surfactant according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, showed minimal improvement in moisturizing sensation and adhesion or caking occurred. In addition, Comparative Examples 7-9 contained a large amount of oil, so although the moisturizing sensation and adhesion were improved, they exhibited physical properties similar to jelly with a hardness of 1.5N or less, so they could not be manufactured into a compressed powder formulation. Comparative Example 10 contained an excessive amount of non-volatile oil, making it impossible to mold into a wet formulation. On the other hand, it was confirmed that Examples 1-3 according to one embodiment of the present disclosure all produced a compressed powder formulation in which the moisturizing sensation and adhesion were improved and the caking problem caused by oil was resolved.
[0051] [Test Example 2]
[0052] The following experiment was performed to confirm the difference in effect depending on the type of surfactant included as an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0053] When manufacturing a composition of a compressed powder formulation, at least 60% of the water introduced during the manufacturing process must be removed to determine that the composition has been properly molded as a compressed powder formulation. In this experiment, the moisture absorption rate (water removal rate) according to the type of surfactant was analyzed.
[0054] First, surfactants were broadly classified into five types: polyethylene glycol (PEG), polyglyceryl ester, polyglyceryl glucose, sugar and sucrose, and sorbitan. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyglyceryl ester series exist as pastes or liquids at room temperature, while polyglyceryl glucose, sugar and sucrose, and sorbitan series exist as solids in the form of pellets or powders at room temperature.
[0055] A composition was prepared using the method of Test Example 1 above with the composition of Table 3 below.
[0056] Moisture absorption rate refers to the amount of solvent (water) excluded during the formation of the molded product from the initial amount of mixed solvent (water), and was measured according to the following mathematical formula.
[0057] [Mathematical Formula 1]
[0058] Moisture absorption rate = S2 / S1 (%)
[0059] Here, S1 represents the amount of mixed solvent, and S2 represents the amount of removed solvent.
[0060]
[0062] As a result, as shown in Figure 1, polyethylene glycol (PEG) series polysorbate 85, polysorbate 60, PEG-10 dimethicone, PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate, PEG-60 hydrogenated castor oil, and polyglyceryl ester series polyglyceryl-10-dioleate and polyglyceryl-6 caprylate showed a moisture absorption rate of 60% or more based on the solvent, making it possible to formulate them into compressed powder formulations. On the other hand, other sorbitan series cetearyl oliveate* sorbitan oliveate and sugar & sucrose series sucrose polystearate and sucrose stearate had very low moisture absorption rates, making it impossible to formulate them into compressed powder formulations.
[0063] [Test Example 3]
[0064] The following experiment was performed to confirm the difference in effect according to the content of the surfactant included as an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0065] A composition was prepared using the same composition and method as in Example 4 in Table 3 above, but with polysorbate 85 as the type of surfactant, and the moisture absorption rates were compared by varying the content. At this time, the moisture absorption rate was measured using the same method as in Test Example 2 above.
[0066] Surfactant content Moisture absorption rate (%) 1 weight % 72.33 3 weight % 68.91 5 weight % 62.18
[0067] As a result, when polysorbate 85 was used as a surfactant, it showed a moisture absorption rate of about 62% at a content of 5% by weight, and when used above that, it was difficult to manufacture into a compressed powder formulation. This showed a similar trend when other surfactants were used, which is because when the surfactant content is excessive, the compatibility with the solvent becomes too good, making it impossible to remove the solvent to a moldable level (more than 60%), and thus shrinkage and cracking occur even when the molded product is made.
[0068] [Test Example 4]
[0069] The following experiment was performed to confirm the difference in effect according to the composition of the surfactant included as one embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0070] A composition was prepared according to the composition of Table 5 below by using a surfactant with an HLB of 6 or higher alone (Example 4) or by combining it with a surfactant with a low HLB of 3 to 6 (Examples 3, 8, 9), and the moisture absorption rates were compared in the same manner as in Test Example 3.
[0071] division division Example 4 Example 3 Example 8 Example 9 Surfactant ratio - 4 to 1 3 to 1 1-on-1 Moisture absorption rate (%) 67.15 66.11 65.66 62.97 Formulation feasibility possible possible possible possible INCI powder Talc (D90 30μm) 35.25 35.25 35.25 35.25 Mica, Methicone 20 20 20 20 Silica, Methicone 4 4 4 4 Silica 3 3 3 3 Aluminum starch octenylsuccinate 3 3 3 3 Iron oxide (ci 77492), triethoxycaprylylsilane 1.8 1.8 1.8 1.8 Iron oxide (ci 77491), triethoxycaprylylsilane 0.4 0.4 0.4 0.4 Iron oxide (ci 77499), triethoxycaprylylsilane 0.05 0.05 0.05 0.05 titanium dioxide (ci 77891), aluminum hydroxide, triethoxycaprylylsilane 10 10 10 10 oil Octyldodecyl stearoyl stearate 12 12 12 12 Coco-caprylate / caprate 6.5 6.5 6.5 6.5 Hydrogenated caster oil dimer dilinoleate 1.5 1.5 1.5 1.5 surfactants Polysorbate 80 2.5 2 1.667 1.25 Sorbitan isostearate - 0.5 0.833 1.25 total 100 100 100 100
[0072] Since surfactants with high HLB are highly hydrophilic, their persistence against sweat may be poor; therefore, this can be compensated for by mixing them with surfactants with low HLB of 3 to 6. As shown in the table above, it was confirmed that the embodiments of the present disclosure can be used without formulation problems by mixing up to a 1:1 ratio within a total surfactant content of 5% by weight. Conversely, as the content of the surfactant with low HLB of 3 to 6 increases, persistence improves, whereas dispersibility in water decreases, resulting in a rough surface condition, making it unsuitable for use at a ratio of less than 1:1.
