Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a multi-axis seedling cultivation technology, and more specifically, to a cultivation method capable of simultaneously forming and cultivating multiple stems or branches and supplying them, and to a multi-axis seedling cultivated thereby. Background Technology
[0002] In the fruit and horticulture industries, the quality of seedlings is a critical factor directly linked to productivity and fruit quality. In particular, multi-axis seedlings, which are cultivated by simultaneously forming multiple stems or branches, offer many advantages in terms of tree vigor management and space utilization, and are therefore being actively researched in the cultivation of various crops (grapes, apples, pears, peaches, plums, persimmons, cherries, apricots, jujubes, Japanese plums, etc.). During the process of manufacturing and breeding multi-axis seedlings, management is required to ensure that each axis grows in a balanced manner, and for this purpose, appropriate branch induction, support, and pruning techniques are essential.
[0003] The Guyot System, traditionally well-known in apple cultivation, is a technique that involves growing the main branch as an extension and controlling the position of lateral branches formed on it. While this system has been successfully utilized in single-axis cultivation, it has several limitations in more efficiently producing multi-axis seedlings.
[0004] The existing multi-axis seedling manufacturing method requires high labor and facility investment during the seedling cultivation process, and may lead to problems such as significant fluctuations in fruit yield and quality during the subsequent growth process. Specifically, the existing multi-axis seedling manufacturing method involves planting the seedling at a 45-degree angle to the ground and growing it for about 2 to 3 months, increasing the angle to approach approximately 90 degrees so that the main branch becomes nearly parallel to the ground, thereby inducing the lateral branches to grow upward.
[0005] However, in this case, not only is the time required for lateral branches to form long, but there is also a high risk of the seedling breaking. Furthermore, the harvest time is significantly delayed compared to standard seedlings, and because the length of the main branch from the root to the first lateral branch increases, the position of the fruit formed on the lateral branch is generally higher, resulting in significantly reduced work efficiency during fruit harvesting. Additionally, due to the characteristic that lateral branches do not form up to the midpoint of the seedling, the length of the main branch where lateral branches can form becomes shorter proportionally to the increased length of the main branch from the root to the first lateral branch. This leads to a decrease in the number of lateral branches per seedling and increases the risk of breakage, causing a problem of significantly reduced yield.
[0006] Accordingly, research is required on cultivation techniques for multi-axis seedlings that enable the formation of as many lateral branches as possible and their formation at the lowest possible position, thereby allowing for the mass production of multi-axis seedlings with controlled lateral branch positions and consistent quality. [0052] Unless otherwise specified, the unit '%' used in this specification means 'weight%'.
[0054] Since the ultimate goal of sapling cultivation is the harvesting of fruit, it is important to increase the number of lateral branches and facilitate the harvesting of fruit from them, thereby enhancing work efficiency—such as reducing labor costs—and increasing yield. Here, lateral branches are small twigs formed on the main stem, and since fruit grows on these branches, they are a crucial factor in fruit production and harvesting.
[0055] Figure 1 is a prior art in the field of this technology, and the conventional method of cultivating multi-axis seedlings involves planting the seedlings at an angle of about 45 degrees in a planting site, and then performing a process of raising the angle slightly after about 2 to 3 months. When planted in this manner, root growth is inhibited, which becomes an obstacle to the growth of the seedlings and increases the completion time. Furthermore, the second region (S) where lateral branches are formed is reduced, and there is a risk that the bending part itself may be damaged, as well as the lateral branches themselves.
[0056] In this specification, the multi-axial seedling is divided into a first region (M) and a second region (S) along the longitudinal direction of the seedling. Here, the second region (S) refers to a lateral branch region where lateral branches are formed from the main branch, and the first region (M) refers to a non-lateral branch region where lateral branches are not formed from the main branch, extending from the root to the region immediately preceding the second region (S).
[0057] The present invention provides a multi-axis seedling and a method for cultivating the same, wherein, as illustrated in FIG. 2, a groove is formed at a specific point of a seedling planted at a vertical or near-vertical angle in a planting site, and the seedling is bent based on this groove at an angle parallel to or near-parallel to the planting site, thereby increasing the second area (S) to increase the number of lateral branches and ensuring that the lateral branches are formed at a low position as much as possible, thereby increasing workability. Furthermore, it has the effect of minimizing facility costs, facilitating mass production with the same quality, and being applicable to various varieties.
[0058] Specifically, the multi-axis seedling cultivation method according to the present invention comprises a planting step of planting a seedling in a planting site, a groove forming step of forming a groove in a first region (M) of the planted seedling, and a bending step of bending the seedling based on the groove.
[0059] The above planting step is a step of planting saplings in the planting site, which is a process of digging a hole in the planting site and planting the roots of the sapling in the hole.
[0060] In the above planting step, the sapling is planted at an angle perpendicular to or close to perpendicular to the planting site. As a preferred example, the sapling is preferably planted such that the angle with the planting site is 70 to 110 degrees, specifically 75 to 105 degrees, and more specifically 80 to 100 degrees. If this is satisfied, the sapling is bent at a specific angle in the subsequent bending step, so that the main branch, which forms the lateral branch, can be formed at an angle parallel to or close to parallel to the planting site. That is, in one embodiment, the first area (M) and the second area (S) can be formed in a straight line so that they are perpendicular to each other. Therefore, compared to the conventional method, the second area (S) is relatively increased and the position of the lateral branch is relatively lowered, which not only improves work efficiency (such as reducing labor) for fruit harvesting, but also minimizes inhibition of sapling growth due to the multi-axis system, thereby maximizing the formation of lateral branches and enabling mass harvesting.
[0061] The above groove forming step is a step of forming a groove in the first area (M) of the planted seedling, and the groove can be formed in the first area (M) of the seedling using a knife, a saw, etc. By forming the groove, the seedling can be easily bent in the subsequent bending step at an angle parallel to or close to parallel with the planting site in the direction of the groove.
[0062] The first region (M) is an area extending from the root of the seedling to a position where the first lateral branch is formed, based on the longitudinal direction of the seedling, and is composed of a lower region corresponding to half the length of the entire length of the first region (M) from the root; and an upper region corresponding to the remaining half length. FIG. 2 shows a multi-axial seedling according to the present invention, wherein, preferably, in the groove forming step, the groove portion may be formed in the upper region of the first region (M). More preferably, when the upper region of the first region (M) is divided into three parts—upper, middle, and lower—the groove portion may be formed in the upper region.
[0063] The above-mentioned groove may include a plurality of grooves formed spaced apart from each other in the longitudinal direction of the seedling so that the seedling can be bent well at a large angle with respect to the groove, and the specific configuration of a preferred groove is described below.
[0064] The spacing between the grooves may be, for example, 0.3 to 3 cm, and the number of grooves may be, for example, 3 to 15, specifically 3 to 10, more specifically 3 to 6. If this is satisfied, it can be bent well at large angles while minimizing problems caused by damage.
[0065] The shape of the above groove may be, for example, a V-shape that widens from the inside to the outside of the sapling. If this is satisfied, it can be bent well at a large angle while minimizing problems caused by damage.
[0066] The depth of the above groove (L G1 ) is, for example, the seedling diameter (L D It may be 50% or less, 5 to 50%, specifically 45% or less, or 15 to 40%. If this is satisfied, excellent flexibility can be achieved while simultaneously preventing the problem of dying due to injury.
[0067] The width of the above groove (L G2) can be, for example, 0.1 to 2 cm based on the outermost edge of the seedling, specifically 0.2 to 1.5 cm, and more specifically 0.2 to 1 cm. If this is satisfied, it can be bent well at a large angle while minimizing problems caused by injury.
[0068] The position of the above-mentioned groove can be appropriately adjusted as the size of the first area (M) varies depending on the variety of the seedling, and, for general example, it can be formed at a position spaced 0.2 to 0.1 m, specifically 0.2 to 0.7 m from the planting site.
[0069] The above bending step is a step of bending a seedling with a groove formed therein at an angle parallel to or close to parallel with the planting site, wherein the bending point is formed in the direction of the groove based on the groove. Unlike the prior art, since the groove is formed, it is not difficult to bend the seedling at an angle close to 90 degrees in a short time, and the inhibition of the seedling's growth due to the bending can be minimized.
[0070] In the above bending step, it is preferable that the bending angle of the seedling be 70 to 110 degrees, specifically 75 to 105 degrees, and more specifically 80 to 100 degrees. When this is satisfied, the main branch, where the lateral branch is formed, can be formed at an angle parallel to or close to parallel with the planting site. Therefore, compared to the conventional method, the second area (S) is relatively increased and the position of the lateral branch is relatively lowered, which not only improves work efficiency for fruit harvesting but also has a significant effect in establishing a multi-axis system in a short period of time. In addition, it has the effect of minimizing inhibition of seedling growth.
[0071] A multi-axis seedling cultivation method according to one example of the present invention may further include a wound protection step of covering and adhering a protective film to the groove after the bending step.
[0072] As described above, in the present invention, an artificial wound is induced by forming a groove in a specific area of a seedling, and thus, adverse effects caused by the wound can be prevented by covering this wound area with a protective film. In this case, it may be preferable for the protective film to be in the form of a tape for work efficiency, and the wound can be protected by wrapping and adhering the tape-shaped protective film around the circumference of the seedling corresponding to the groove.
[0073] The above protective film may be of various types, but preferably, the protective film described below is used.
[0074] A protective film according to a preferred example may include: a biodegradable porous substrate layer; and an adhesive layer laminated on the substrate layer and formed of a wound-healing adhesive composition.
[0075] It may be preferable that the above substrate layer be a biodegradable film formed of polylactic acid. If this is satisfied, it is not only environmentally friendly but can also minimize the intrusion of insects, microorganisms, etc. and be effective in wound healing. The above biodegradable film may have a weight-average molecular weight of, for example, 50,000 to 300,000 g / mol.
[0076] The above wound healing adhesive composition may be used in various compositions, but it is preferable to include atapulgite particles, cytokinin-based tissue regeneration compounds, quinoline-based antimicrobial organic compounds, starch particles, and a solvent.
[0077] The above-mentioned attapulgite particles are natural clay mineral particles, porous mineral particles composed primarily of magnesium and aluminum silicate. They possess a unique crystal structure and internal pores. The internal pores may include mesoporous and some microporous pores, and the surface area of the internal pores is, for example, 100 to 400 m² 2 / g, specifically 150 to 300 m 2It can be / g. The shape of the internal pores is tubular, and the atapulgite particles may have internal pores with a tubular structure. Through these long, continuous channels, moisture can be adsorbed into the interior of the particles with a large specific surface area. Therefore, appropriate moisture control during healing can be expected.
[0078] In particular, atapulgite particles act as fillers to fill grooves, thereby preventing the intrusion of pests and microorganisms from the outside and maximizing the healing effect of cytokinin-based tissue regenerative compounds and quinoline-based antimicrobial organic compounds.
[0079] The average particle size of the above atapulgite particles may be, for example, 10 to 100 μm, specifically 15 to 70 μm, in order to maximize the role of the filler and the healing effect.
[0080] The above cytokinin-based tissue regeneration compound promotes cell division and helps calluses proliferate more vigorously, and when used together with quinoline-based antimicrobial organic compounds, the wound healing effect can be significantly enhanced. Specific examples of the above cytokinin-based tissue regeneration compound may include one or more selected from 6-benzylaminopurine, 6-furylaminopurine, zeatin, isopentenyl adenine, tidiazuron, meta-topolin, and forchlorofenuron.
[0081] The above-mentioned quinoline-based antimicrobial organic compound can inhibit secondary infection (caused by fungi, bacteria, etc.) of plant wounds, and when used together with cytokinin-based tissue regeneration compounds, the wound healing effect can be significantly enhanced. As an example of the above-mentioned quinoline-based antimicrobial organic compound, hydroxyquinoline with OH groups attached at various positions may be used, and specifically, 8-hydroxyquinoline of Chemical Formula 1 below may be used.
[0082] [Chemical Formula 1]
[0083]
[0084] The above starch particles are a component that provides an adhesive function, and the average particle size of the starch particles can be, for example, 10 to 100 μm, specifically 15 to 70 μm, in terms of maximizing adhesive ability.
[0085] The above solvent may be of various types as long as each component can be dissolved or dispersed, and for example, water may be preferred.
[0086] The composition ratio of the wound healing adhesive composition is such that it can achieve the aforementioned effects. For example, the wound healing adhesive composition may comprise 1 to 5 weight% of the atapulgite particles, 0.01 to 1 weight% of the cytokinin-based tissue regenerative compound, 0.1 to 2 weight% of the quinoline-based antimicrobial organic compound, 10 to 35 weight% of the starch particles, and 60 to 85 weight% of the solvent.
[0087] The average thickness of the above substrate layer may be 20 to 300 μm, and the average thickness of the above adhesive layer may be 100 to 800 μm.
[0088] Since the multi-axis seedling cultivation method according to the present invention can be applied to various varieties, it is not limited to the type of seedling, but may be a seedling selected from, for example, grapes, apples, pears, peaches, plums, persimmons, cherries, Japanese plums, dates, or apricots.
[0090] The present invention will be described in detail below through examples, but these are intended to explain the invention in more detail and the scope of the present invention is not limited by the following examples.
[0092] Multi-axial seedlings were cultivated using the following method, and the differentiation and growth of lateral branches were observed.
[0093] Planting Stage
[0094] As the target seedlings, one-year-old apple tree seedlings with a diameter of approximately 2 cm were prepared as shown in Table 1 below. Here, based on the length direction of the seedling, the area from the root to the location where the first lateral branch is formed is defined as the first area (M), and the area where branches develop thereafter is classified as the second area (S).
[0095] As a planting site, farmland with a pH of 6 to 7 and a slight slope to ensure good drainage was selected. In this embodiment, after leveling the planting site, the planting location (1.5 × 4 m) for the seedlings was marked in advance.
[0096] To minimize damage to the roots of the seedlings, a hole was dug to a depth of about 30 cm in the marked area of the planting site, and the seedlings were planted in the hole at a perpendicular angle to the planting site. Subsequently, the surrounding soil was piled up slightly thick to facilitate drainage, and sufficient water was applied to prevent the formation of air pockets and to ensure initial establishment.
[0097] Home Formation Stage
[0098] Under the conditions shown in Table 1 below, a groove containing five spaced-apart grooves was formed on the surface of the tree corresponding to the first area (M) of the seedling using a V-shaped knife. Subsequently, the remaining debris around the groove was cleanly removed and the wound area was disinfected.
[0099] <Bending Stage>
[0100] The seedling was bent slowly along the direction in which the groove was formed, using the grooved portion as a reference, to prevent micro-cracks from occurring. During the bending process, the grooved area became the principal stress point, allowing the seedling to bend relatively easily. Subsequently, the seedling was fixed together with a support stake to prevent it from straightening out while in the bent state.
[0101] <Protection Level>
[0102] In order to reduce the penetration of pathogens or the occurrence of trauma damage caused by the widening of the wound at the bending area, general adhesive tape was wrapped around the circumference of the seedling corresponding to the groove.
[0103] In addition, during the initial stage of cultivation, watering and nutrient application were carried out at 2-week intervals until the bending condition stabilized, and the grooves and bending parts were observed frequently during the growth period.
[0104] As a result, seedlings in which the first region (M) was bent according to the above method had the tip portion corresponding to the first region (M) lying nearly horizontal, allowing lateral branches (new branches) to differentiate and grow evenly along multiple axes in the future. Specifically, root establishment was good even after groove processing and bending treatment, and it was confirmed that each lateral branch tended to grow in a balanced manner during the first year of growth. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the bent area healed relatively stably (good callus formation), and in the following year, strong new branches dispersed along multiple axes, developing into a multi-axial form.

[0108] Multi-axis seedlings were cultivated in the same manner as in Example 1, except that a protective film prepared in the following step was used instead of general adhesive tape in Example 1.
[0109] <Protective Film Manufacturing Steps>
[0110] A wound healing adhesive composition was prepared by mixing 3 wt% of atapulgite particles with an average particle size of 50 μm, 0.1 wt% of 6-benzylaminopurine as a cytokinin-based tissue regeneration compound, 1 wt% of 8-hydroxyquinoline as a quinoline-based antimicrobial organic compound, 20 wt% of starch particles with an average particle size of 20 μm, and the remaining amount of water for a sufficient amount of time.
[0111] A protective film in the shape of a tape (width: 3 cm) was prepared by applying the wound healing adhesive composition to one side of a film formed of polylactic acid as a biodegradable porous substrate layer with an average thickness of 300 μm.
[0112] As a result of observing the differentiation and growth of lateral branches in the same way as in Example 1, it was confirmed that compared to Example 1, the bending area healed significantly more stably, and the time required for complete healing was significantly shortened by more than 30%.
