Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an earring, and more specifically, to an earring comprising a structure designed to facilitate locking and unlocking. Background Technology
[0002] Earrings are a representative fashion accessory that plays an important role in expressing the wearer's individuality and completing their style. Generally, earrings include a fixing part that penetrates the earlobe and are secured in the desired position using a fastening mechanism. The fastening method of earrings is directly related not only to the product's design but also to the user's convenience and safety; if the fastening is incomplete, there is a high risk that the earring will fall off and be lost while worn. Accordingly, the fastening structure of earrings has continuously evolved to satisfy both stability and convenience simultaneously.
[0003] Conventional earring fastening methods include hook, clip-on, screw-back, and hinge types. The hook type involves inserting a hook-shaped post into the earlobe for wearing; while its simple structure makes it easy to wear, the earring may easily fall out if the fastening is incomplete. The clip type secures the earring by pressing it against the earlobe without piercing the ear; while it offers the advantage of painless wear, prolonged use can cause pressure on the ear, and the fastening force may decrease if the clip's elasticity weakens due to repeated use.
[0004] To address these issues, a screw-type fastening method was developed. While screw-type earrings can provide strong fixation by securing them with a screw, they have the disadvantage of being cumbersome to wear and requiring precise adjustment of the tightening degree. Additionally, if the user overtightens the screw, it can compress the ear and cause discomfort, whereas if tightened too loosely, there is a risk of the earrings coming undone during wear.
[0005] The hinge method utilizes a structure similar to a hinge to interlock the two ends of the earring, offering the advantage of being relatively convenient to wear. However, wear on the hinge area may weaken the fastening force, and there is a possibility that the earring may come loose due to movement or external impact even after fastening. In particular, if the precision of the fastening part is low or its durability is insufficient, the earring may become loose after prolonged use.
[0006] As such, while existing earring fastening methods each have their own advantages, they often fail to satisfy both user convenience and fastening stability. Hook and clip types are easy to fasten but are highly prone to coming undone during wear; screw types offer strong fastening power but are inconvenient to operate; and hinge types are relatively convenient but may face durability issues. In particular, most existing fastening methods require the user to operate them manually, and since precise adjustments are necessary during the fastening process, operability is often poor.
[0007] In addition, since small fastening parts often need to be manipulated by hand, this can cause inconvenience to users with slippery hands or those who have difficulty with precise movements. Furthermore, if the fastening force is too strong, the earring may be uncomfortable to wear, while if it is too weak, it may easily come undone and be lost. Therefore, the fastening method of the earring must consider both user convenience and safety, and a structure is required that is simple to fasten and unfasten while possessing sufficient fixing force to prevent it from coming loose during wear.
[0008] Accordingly, there is a need for an earring fastening structure that compensates for the shortcomings of existing fastening methods, allows for easy one-handed wear, and maintains fastening strength to prevent loosening even under external impact after wearing. To meet these requirements, a new fastening method is needed that is easy to fasten while providing strong fixation. The problem to be solved

[0034] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of an earring according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a front view of the earring of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is a rear view of the earring of FIG. 1, FIG. 4 is a left side view of the earring of FIG. 1, FIG. 5 is a right side view of the earring of FIG. 1, FIG. 6 is a top view of the earring of FIG. 1, and FIG. 7 is a bottom view of the earring of FIG. 1.
[0035] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 7, the earring (10) of the present invention is an ornament that includes a fastening structure designed with consideration for the user's convenience and safety. The earring (10) of the present invention is characterized by providing a stable fit and a simple locking and unlocking function.
[0036] The body (100) forms the basic structure of the earring (10). The body (100) provides a basic framework to allow the earring (10) to be worn securely on the earlobe. Additionally, the body (100) determines the overall shape of the earring (10) and includes functional elements necessary for the fastening and unfastening process.
[0037] The body (100) includes a main body (110), a rotating body (120), and a locking body (130). The main body (110), the rotating body (120), and the locking body (130) can be combined with a rocker (200) described later to form a ring shape. For example, the main body (110), the rotating body (120), and the locking body (130) can be combined with a rocker (200) to form a circular ring shape. The main body (110), the rotating body (120), and the locking body (130) can each have an arc shape that forms part of a virtual circle having the same center and radius.
[0038] A rotating body (120) may be connected to one side of the main body (110), and a locking body (130) may be connected to the other side. The rotating body (120) may be rotatably connected to the main body (110). The main body (110) and the rotating body (120) may be joined by a body hinge (140). The rotating body (120) may be rotatably connected to the main body (110) based on the body hinge (140). The locking body (130) may be fixedly connected to the main body (110). The locking body (130) may be a body that is inserted into the user's earlobe. Therefore, based on a cross-section viewed from a plane perpendicular to the direction in which the locking body (130) is inserted into the earlobe, the locking body (130) may have the smallest diameter (or cross-sectional area) among the main body (110), the rotating body (120), and the rocker (200).
[0039] The rocker (200) can be connected to the rotating body (120). The rocker (200) can optionally implement locking and unlocking with the locking body (130). The rocker (200) is rotatably connected to the rotating body (120), but can be connected to the rotating body (120) in a form that is elastically restoreable to the elastic member (230) described later.
[0040] Below, the structure of the earring (10) is described in more detail. FIG. 8 is a cross-sectional view of the earring of FIG. 1, and FIG. 9 is an enlarged view of a part of the cross-sectional view of the earring of FIG. 8. FIG. 8 corresponds to a standard cross-sectional view of the earring (10).
[0041] Referring to FIGS. 8 and 9, as described above, the earring (10) includes a main body (110), a rotating body (120), a locking body (130), and a rocker (200).
[0042] The main body (110) provides the basic framework of the earring (10). The main body (110) has an arc shape. The inner surface of the main body (110) has a smooth surface. Since the inner surface of the main body (110) is the part that faces the user's earlobe, it is configured to have a smooth surface. Grip protrusions (111) are formed on the outer surface of the main body (110). The outer surface of the main body (110) is the part where the user grips the earring (10) using a finger, such as a thumb. Therefore, a plurality of grip protrusions (111) are formed on the outer surface of the main body (110) to prevent the thumb from slipping. The grip protrusions (111) formed on the outer surface of the main body (110) can be formed by extending in a direction away from the center of the earring (10) when viewed from the front.
[0043] The rotating body (120) is connected to one end of the main body (110). The rotating body (120) can be rotatably connected to the main body (110) around a body hinge (140). The rotating body (120) has an arc shape. The rotating body (120) and the main body (110) may have an arc shape that forms part of a virtual circle having generally the same center and radius. The rotating body (120) can be connected to the main body (110) so that it can rotate freely within a certain angle range according to user operation.
[0044] The locking body (130) is connected to the other end of the main body (110). The locking body (130) can be fixedly connected to the main body (110). The locking body (130) has an arc shape. The locking body (130), the main body (110), and the rotating body (120) may have an arc shape that forms part of a virtual circle having generally the same center and radius. The locking body (130) is connected in a fixed state relative to the main body (110). The locking body (130) can be connected to the main body (110) by means such as snap-fit, adhesive, welding, or integral molding.
[0045] A locking groove (131) may be formed at the end of the locking body (130). A locking projection (223) of the rocker (200), which will be described later, may be selectively inserted into the locking groove (131) according to the user's operation.
[0046] The locker (200) can be locked with the locking body (130) so that the earring (10) does not detach from the user's earlobe when the locking body (130) is inserted into the user's earlobe. Additionally, if the user wishes to detach the earring (10) from the earlobe, the user can operate the locker (200) to release the locking with the locking body (130).
[0047] The rocker (200) is connected to the body (100). Specifically, the rocker (200) can be connected to the rotating body (120) of the body (100). The rocker (200) can be fixedly connected to the rotating body (120) as a whole. Accordingly, when the rotating body (120) is rotated, the rocker (200) can rotate together with the rotating body (120).
[0048] The rocker (200) includes a fixed part (210) and a rotating part (220). The fixed part (210) can be fixedly connected to the rotating body (120). The rotating part (220) can be rotatably coupled relative to the fixed part (210).
[0049] The fixed part (210) is connected to one end of the rotating body (120). An insertion opening is formed in the fixed part (210) so that a rotating part (220) can be inserted and installed. The rotating part (220) is inserted into the insertion opening. Then, the rotating part (220) inserted into the insertion opening can be rotatably coupled to the fixed part (210) within a set angle range through a locking hinge (240).
[0050] The fixed part (210) and the rotating part (220) can be combined to define an insertion groove (222). Specifically, an insertion groove (222) into which the end of the locking body (130) described above is inserted can be defined on one side relative to the locking hinge (240). When the end of the locking body (130) is inserted into the insertion groove (222), the locking projection (223) formed on the rocker (200) can be inserted into the catch groove (131) formed on the locking body (130). Accordingly, the rocker (200) can be locked to the locking body (130).
[0051] An elastic member (230), described later, may be disposed on the other side relative to the locking hinge (240). An installation groove (211, 221) in which the elastic member (230) is installed may be formed in each of the fixed part (210) and the rotating part (220). Specifically, a fixed part installation groove (211) into which one end of the elastic member (230) is fitted may be formed in the fixed part (210), and a rotating part installation groove (221) into which the other end of the elastic member (230) is fitted may be formed in the rotating part (220).
[0052] The elastic member (230) may be a spring. The elastic member (230) may be a compression spring. The elastic member (230) provides elastic force. When a user presses the locking release button (224) described later, the elastic member (230) may be compressed. When the user removes their finger from the locking release button (224), the compressed elastic member (230) may return to its original shape and generate a restoring force. Due to the restoring force generated by the elastic member (230), the end of the rotating part (220) may move in a direction closer to the end of the fixed part (210).
[0053] Additionally, the length of the elastic member (230) may be provided such that when a user locks the locking body (130) into the locker (200), the locking body (130) can be inserted into the insertion groove (222) without separately operating the unlocking button (224). For example, the length of the uncompressed elastic member (230) may be provided such that the gap between the locking projection (223) and the fixed part (210) is such that the end of the locking body (130) can enter the insertion groove (222). Accordingly, when the end of the locking body (130) is advanced toward the insertion groove (222), the locking body (130) comes into contact with the locking projection (223), and when the locking body (130) is further advanced, the locking body (130) can overcome the restoring force of the elastic member (230). Accordingly, the rotating part (220) can be rotated around the locking hinge (240). When the locking groove (131) formed in the locking body (130) comes into contact with the locking projection (223), the locking projection (223) can be elastically inserted into the locking groove (131).
[0054] Meanwhile, a locking release button (224) may be formed on the rotating part (220). The locking release button (224) may be formed in an area adjacent to the locking projection (223). The locking release button (224) may be formed on the rotating part (220) and may be formed to protrude a certain length away from the center of the ring formed by the body (100) and the rocker (200). This is to facilitate gripping with the user's finger, specifically the index finger. Additionally, at least one grip groove (225) may be formed on the upper surface of the locking release button (224) to prevent the user's index finger from slipping.
[0055] The unlock button (224) and the elastic member (230) are positioned on one side and the other side of the locking hinge (240), respectively. Based on the direction in which the user applies force to the unlock button (224), the unlock button (224), the locking hinge (240), and the body hinge (140) may be arranged sequentially.
[0056] When the user applies force to the unlock button (224), the rotating part (220) can apply force to the elastic member (230) by means of the lever principle. Therefore, the user can compress the elastic member (230) with relatively little force. Thus, the user can more easily unlock the earring (10).
[0057] Additionally, when the user presses the unlocking button (224), the rotating part (220) rotates around the locking hinge (240). At this time, a guide surface (215) is formed on the fixed part (210) to guide the rotation direction of the rotating part (220). The guide surface (215) may be provided in a concave shape. And, a sliding surface (226) is formed on the rotating part (220) facing the guide surface (215). The sliding surface (226) may be provided in a convex shape corresponding to the guide surface (215). Additionally, the guide surface (215) and the sliding surface (226) may have a curvature equal to the rotation radius of the rotating part (220).
[0058] Next, the shape of the locking groove (131) of the locking body (130) and the locking projection (223) of the rocker (200) will be described in more detail.
[0059] When assuming a virtual first line (A) that contacts the locking body, the first angle (a1) formed by the direction extending from the first point (B) where the locking groove (131) begins to be formed with respect to the first line (A) may be an acute angle. The locking groove (131) may have a first groove surface (131a) and a second groove surface (131b). The first groove surface (131a) is a surface formed on the side opposite to the main body (110) that is relatively close to the locking hinge (240) among the surfaces formed by the locking groove (131). The second groove surface (131b) is a surface formed on the side facing the main body (110) that is relatively far from the locking hinge (240) among the surfaces formed by the locking groove (131). The surface of the catch groove (131) forming the first angle (a1) described above may be the first groove surface (131a).
[0060] Additionally, when assuming a virtual second line (A') that is parallel to the first line (A) and passes through a second point (B') where the locking projection (223) begins to be formed, the second angle (a2) formed by the second line (A') and the direction in which the locking projection (223) extends from the second point (B') may be an acute angle. The locking projection (223) may have a first projection surface (223a) and a second projection surface (223b). Among the surfaces formed by the locking projection (223), the first projection surface (223a) is a surface formed on the opposite side of the main body (110) and is relatively close to the locking hinge (240). The second projection surface (223b) is a surface formed on the side facing the main body (110) that is relatively far from the locking hinge (240) among the surfaces formed by the locking projection (223). The surface of the locking projection (223) forming the second angle (a2) described above may be the first projection surface (223a).
[0061] As the first angle (a1) and the second angle (a2) are formed as acute angles, the fastening stability of the earring (10) can be further improved. Specifically, if the first and second angles (a1, a2) are right angles, locking to the locking body (130) may be possible, but the fastening stability may be relatively low. Accordingly, by forming the first and second angles (a1, a2) as acute angles, the fastening stability described above can be improved.
[0062] Meanwhile, the first angle (a1) may be larger than the second angle (a2). If the first angle (a1) is formed to be smaller than the second angle (a2), repetitive friction and scratching may occur between the rotating part (220) and the locking body (130). This phenomenon may cause fine metal fragments, and if these metal fragments enter the user's earlobe, there is a possibility that inflammation may occur in the user's ear. Accordingly, the present invention forms the first angle (a1) to be larger than the second angle (a2) to minimize the problem of friction and scratching as described above, and to help locking and unlocking be performed more easily.
[0063] Figures 10 and 11 are drawings showing the unlocking of the earring.
[0064] Referring to FIGS. 10 and 11, the earring (10) has two grip areas formed therein that a user can grip with their fingers. The two grip areas include a first grip area (G1) and a second grip area (G2). The first and second grip areas (G1, G2) are positioned on both sides relative to the locking body (130). Among the grip areas, the first grip area (G1) is formed on the outer surface of the main body (110). The user grips the outer surface of the main body (110) using their thumb. At this time, the user's thumb may be prevented from slipping by the grip protrusion (111). Among the grip areas, the second grip area (G2) is formed on the upper surface of the unlock button (224). The user grips the upper surface of the unlock button (224) using their index finger. At this time, the user's index finger may be prevented from slipping by the grip groove (225).
[0065] The user supports the first grip area (G1) with their thumb and presses the second grip area (G2) downward with their index finger. At this time, a first rotational force (RP1) is generated around the locking hinge (240). Due to the first rotational force (RP1), the locking projection (223) is pulled out from the locking groove (131), and the elastic member (230) is compressed. The user does not press the part where the elastic member (230) is installed directly with their finger, but rather releases the lock through a separately provided locking release button (224). The locking release button (224) and the elastic member (230) are positioned on both sides centered around the locking hinge (240). That is, when the user presses the locking release button (224), the elastic member (230) can be compressed with relatively little force due to the lever principle. By this, the user can unlock the earring (10) with relatively little force.
[0066] Meanwhile, as shown in FIG. 10, even if the locking projection (223) is withdrawn from the locking groove (131), the end of the locking body (130) is positioned in the insertion groove (222). Therefore, in order for the user to completely detach the earring (10) from the earlobe, the end of the locking body (130) must be withdrawn from the insertion groove (222).
[0067] To achieve this, additional rotation of the rotating body (120) relative to the main body (110) is required. As described above, the unlocking button (224), the locking hinge (240), and the body hinge (140) are arranged sequentially based on the direction in which the user applies force to the unlocking button (224). The first rotational force (RP1) generated by the user pressing the unlocking button (224) generates a second rotational force (RP2) that rotates the rotating body (120) relative to the main body (110). To generate the second rotational force (RP2), the user does not need to change the direction in which the unlocking button (224) is pressed or apply a different force. That is, the first rotational force (RP1) and the second rotational force (RP2) are generated sequentially simply by the user pressing the unlocking button (224). Accordingly, the unlocking of the earring (10) can be completed with a single touch.
[0068] According to the earring (10) of the present invention, the user can safely maintain the fastening of the earring (10) while implementing locking and unlocking of the earring (10) with one touch, by means of the arrangement of the first and second grip areas (G1, G2), the shape of the locking groove (131) and the locking projection (223), the positional relationship between the elastic member (230) and the locking release button (224), and the length when the elastic member (230) is not compressed.
[0069] It should be understood that exemplary embodiments are disclosed herein and that other variations may be possible.
