Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a press device for a secondary battery. Background Technology
[0002] Secondary batteries can be recharged and discharged, allowing for repeated use. The electrodes used in secondary batteries consist of a positive electrode and a negative electrode. To solve quality issues with the electrodes caused by pores generated during the process of coating the active material onto the electrodes and reduced adhesion between electrodes due to the expansion and contraction of the electrode material during charging and discharging, technology is required to improve adhesion between electrodes or between electrode active materials.
[0003] The press device for secondary batteries is a new concept press device used to enhance the adhesion of active materials and the adhesion between electrodes. Conventional press methods have utilized roll presses and isostatic presses. However, in the roll press method, while it is advantageous to increase the contact surface between the roll press and the active material to prevent the active material from being pushed to one side of the electrode when the active material coated on the electrode is pressed by the roll press, making the roll press larger results in excessive weight and causes problems with precise control. The isostatic press method has limitations in that it requires many cumbersome processes and takes a long time to produce, making it unsuitable for mass production.
[0004] FIG. 20 is a conceptual diagram of a conventional press device.
[0005] A press device (1600) for a secondary battery may include a roll section (1650) that presses an electrode (1630). The roll section (1650) may include an upper roll (1610) and a lower roll (1620) positioned above and below the electrode (1630) with the electrode (1630) in between. The upper roll (1610) and the lower roll (1620) can press the electrode (1630) by rotating around the axis (1670, 1680) of the roll section (1650) above and below the electrode (1630) when the electrode (1630) moves in the direction of travel. The upper roll (1610) and the lower roll (1620) may be cylindrical in shape. However, in the case of a large cylindrical upper roll (1610) and lower roll (1620) with a diameter of about 1 to 2 meters, the weight is very heavy and it is not easy to precisely control the movement.
[0006] In a press device (1600) in which an electrode (1630) in a long, continuous shape that is unwound from one side (1630R) and wound from the other side (1630L) passes between an upper roll (1610) and a lower roll (1620), the cylindrical upper roll (1610) and lower roll (1620) can rotate to press the electrode (1630). However, when a unit material (hereinafter, electrodes that are cut into sheets and stacked in small quantities, rather than being long continuous electrodes) is supplied to a press device by a conveyor belt, there is a problem in that the size of the press device (1600) inevitably increases because the unit material must enter the roll section (1650) at a considerable distance (at least a distance greater than the radius of the roll section (1650)) from the roll section (1650) in order for the roll section (1650) to rotate and press the unit material. If the size of the press device (1600) increases, it is difficult to maintain the device and difficult to control the movement of the roll section (1650).
[0007] Therefore, in actual field applications, when a unit material consisting of multiple stacked electrodes cut into sheet units is supplied to a press device (1600), it is very difficult to apply a cylindrical roll part (1650) to the press device (1600) to press the unit material.
[0008] Fig. 21 is a conceptual diagram explaining the pressurization of a conventional press device.
[0009] The roller section (1650) has a complex structure, such as being provided with a flow path structure through which heating oil flows to apply heat to the pressured electrode (1630), and may include an inlet for the inflow of heating oil and an outlet for the outflow of heating oil, and an oil cap (not shown) that prevents the heating oil from leaking must not interfere with the shaft (SFT) penetrating the central axis (1670, 1680) of the roller section (1650). Additionally, if the pressure of the roller section (1650) alone is insufficient to pressure the electrode (1630), a separate pressure device may be used to press the roller section (1650) to increase the pressure applied to the electrode (163). At this time, since the rotating roller section (1650) cannot be directly pressured in the up-and-down direction, the shaft (SFT) portion of the roller section (1650) is pressured (sometimes pressed with a force of about 5 to 10 tons). However, when the shaft (SFT) of the roller part (1650) is pressed, deformation occurs in the roller part (1650) due to the pressing force of the pressing device (not shown) as illustrated in FIG. 21, and there is a problem that uniform pressure is not applied to the electrode (1630).
[0010] FIG. 22 is a conceptual diagram illustrating another example of a conventional press device.
[0011] To prevent problems caused by the large size of the roll section (1650), the size of the cylindrical roll section can be reduced. For example, the diameter of the roll section (1650A) can be made 0.5 meters or less. Then, even when cut sheet-unit electrodes (1640) that were difficult to press in the actual field with a roll section (1650) having a large diameter are introduced, the possibility of individually pressing the sheet-unit electrodes (1640) increases. However, if the size of the cylindrical roller part (1650A) is small, when the roller part (1650A) rotates and presses from the edge of the electrode (1640), since the diameter of the roller part (1650A) is small, if the pressure applied to the electrode (1630) by the roller part (1650) having a large diameter is a linear pressure that produces the same effect as surface pressure (pressure pressing the electrode in a surface shape), then the pressure applied to the electrode (1640) by the roller part (1650A) having a small diameter acts as a linear pressure (pressure pressing the electrode in a line shape) that does not produce the effect of surface pressure compared to the roller part (1650) having a large diameter, which can cause cracks in the electrode (1640) or cause the electrode coating layer to be pushed and wrinkles to form. The problem to be solved
[0012] The objective of the present invention is to resolve the aforementioned conventional problems by reducing the size of the rollers of the press device to reduce weight and control, while also ensuring that the contact surface of the press that contacts the unit material has an arc shape of a size not different from that of a press with a large diameter, thereby implementing linear pressure that can provide a surface pressure effect to the unit material, preventing cracks from occurring or wrinkles from forming on the electrode coating layer, and also providing a press device for a secondary battery that can continuously press electrodes supplied individually. means of solving the problem

[0050] The press device for a secondary battery according to the present invention is a device for automatically and continuously producing electrodes used in secondary batteries. A secondary battery refers to a battery capable of charging and discharging, and includes, for example, lithium-ion batteries or all-solid-state batteries.
[0051] Below. Based on the x-axis direction of the drawing, the direction from right to left (half x-axis direction) represents the conveying direction (movement direction) of the unit material and indicates the width direction of the unit material, and the y-axis direction of the drawing represents the length direction of the unit material and also indicates the axial direction of the press part of the press device for secondary batteries. In addition, the z-axis direction of the drawing represents the up-down direction of the press device for secondary batteries.
[0052] The unit material described below is a material for forming a secondary battery, and is formed by stacking a positive electrode material and a negative electrode material that have been notched to a certain size. That is, electrodes cut into sheet units are stacked in a certain number. After such a unit material is pressed through a press device, the unit materials can be stacked in multiple units and used in other processes.
[0053] In addition, the unit material is not limited to electrodes for secondary batteries, but may also be applicable to other types of batteries using positive and negative materials, and may also be applied to a structure in which very thin metal plates are stacked in a predetermined number.
[0054] A press device for a secondary battery according to an embodiment sequentially presses a plurality of unit materials supplied in sheet units in the direction of travel of the unit materials. The unit materials supplied continuously in sheet units are pressed while moving, and to reduce the size of the press device, a press unit is included in which the contact surface with the unit material is arc-shaped and the total volume is smaller than that of the roll unit (1650 in FIG. 20), replacing the conventional cylindrical roll unit (1650 in FIG. 20). A detailed explanation thereof is as follows.
[0055] FIG. 1 is a drawing illustrating a press device for a secondary battery according to an embodiment.
[0056] A press device for a secondary battery according to an embodiment of FIG. 1 may include a press unit (100) and a control unit (200).
[0057] The press section (100) may include an upper press section (100A) and a lower press section (100B). The upper press section (100A) and the lower press section (100B) are arranged in the vertical direction with a unit material (10) in between.
[0058] The press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) can move along the second slot (ST2) while rotating around the shaft (142 in FIG. 2). The press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) is arranged along the longitudinal direction of the unit material (10). The press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) oscillates within a certain angle range in the forward and reverse directions around the shaft (142). Specifically, the press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) can oscillate in the left and right directions in the drawing around the shaft (142).
[0059] Here, the forward direction is the same direction as the unit material is moving, and the reverse direction may mean the opposite direction to the direction in which the unit material is moving.
[0060] The lower end of the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) may come into contact with the unit material (10). The contact surface (CT) of the lower end of the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) that comes into contact with the unit material (10) may be a convex curved surface.
[0061] The press (120) of the lower press section (100B) can move along the second slot (ST2) while rotating around the shaft (142). The press (120) of the lower press section (100B) is arranged along the longitudinal direction of the unit material (10). The press (120) of the lower press section (100B) oscillates in the forward and reverse directions within a certain angle range around the shaft (142). Specifically, the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) can oscillate in the left and right directions on the drawing around the shaft (142).
[0062] The upper part of the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) may come into contact with a conveyor belt (B) that transports the unit material (10). The contact surface (CT) of the upper part of the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) that comes into contact with the conveyor belt (B) may be a convex curved surface.
[0063] The control unit (200) is connected to the upper press unit (100A) and the lower press unit (100B), respectively, and controls the oscillating motion of the upper press unit (100A) and the lower press unit (100B). The press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) and the press (120) of the lower press unit (100B) each rotate along the second slot (ST1), thereby pressing the unit material (10) and moving the unit material (10) in the direction of travel.
[0064] A press (120) of this type can be significantly reduced in size compared to a conventional cylindrical roll section. By reducing the size of the press (120) in this way, it is easier to control the movement of the press (120) and easier to maintain, and there is an advantage that the unit material (10) can be continuously pressed in sheet units without stopping the transfer of the unit material (10).
[0065] The press (120) can oscillate within a certain angle range relative to the shaft (142). Oscillating motion means that the press (120) rotates left and right relative to the shaft (142) in the drawing. Rotating clockwise and counterclockwise also has the same meaning.
[0066] The press (120) can oscillate at a constant frequency in the left-right direction on the drawing. Specifically, the press (120) can rotate to the left (clockwise) on the drawing, and then, while the press (120) is rotated to the left, the press (120) can rotate to the right (counterclockwise) on the drawing. The speed of this oscillating motion of the press (120) can be set in correspondence with the movement speed of the unit material (10). Such oscillating motion of the press (120) is guided by the second slot (ST2). The press (120) includes a contact surface (CT) that contacts the unit material (10). The contact surface (CT) may have an arc shape.
[0067] The control unit (200) can control the speed of the oscillating motion of the press unit (100) in correspondence with the moving speed of the unit material (10). During the oscillating motion, the control unit (200) controls the rotational speed of the press unit (100) so that the center of the width of the unit material (10) is positioned on a vertical reference line (CL) passing through the center of the press unit (100) with respect to the direction of travel. The length of the width (W) of the unit material (10) may be smaller than the length of the arc of the contact surface (CT) of the press (120).
[0068] FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the press unit (100) viewed from above, and FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the press unit (100) viewed from below.
[0069] Referring to FIGS. 2 and 3, the press unit (100) may include a press body (110), a press (120), a roller unit (130), and a driving unit (140).
[0070] The press body (110) may be a “T”-shaped block with a horizontal section and a vertical section combined. A press (120) is movably coupled to the press body (110). The press body (110) is a fixed member, and the press (120) may oscillate along the press body (110). Such a press (120) may include a lower section (121), side sections (122) coupled to each of the lower section (121), and a hinge section (123) coupled to the side sections (122). The lower surface of the lower section (121) corresponds to a contact surface (CT) that contacts the unit material (10). The lower section (121) and the side sections (122) are each slidably coupled to the press body (110). The hinge section (123) may be fixed to each of the side sections (122).
[0071] The driving unit (140) may be connected to the hinge unit (123). The driving unit (140) may be formed to cause the rod (141) to reciprocate in a straight line. The driving unit (140) reciprocates the rod (141) in a straight line in a horizontal direction. The driving unit (140) may include any one of a pneumatic unit, a hydraulic unit, or an electric unit that moves the rod (141). The rod (141) of the driving unit (140) is rotatably coupled to the hinge unit (123). The rod (141) may include an axle unit (142). The axle unit (142) may be located at the end of the rod (141). The axle unit (142) is rotatably coupled to the hinge unit (123). Two driving units (140) are provided, and each of the two driving units (140) can be connected to a hinge unit (123) located on both sides of the lower part (121) of the press (120).
[0072] FIG. 4 is an exploded view showing a press (120) including a roller section (130), and FIG. 5 is a drawing showing the lower part (121) of the press (120) where the first roller is installed.
[0073] Referring to FIGS. 4 and 5, the lower portion (121) is positioned such that the upper surface of the lower portion (121) faces the lower surface of the press body (110). The upper surface of the lower portion (121) is formed as a concave curved surface. The lower surface of the lower portion (121) is formed as a convex curved surface, forming a contact surface (CT) that contacts the unit material. The upper surface of the lower portion (121) may include a first slot (ST1). The first slot (ST1) is formed concavely on the upper surface of the lower portion (121). The first slot (ST1) may be formed in an arc shape when viewed from the axial direction of the shaft portion (142). The press body (110) may include a second slot (ST2). The second slot (ST2) may be formed on both sides of the press body (110). The second slot (ST2) can be formed in an arc shape when the shaft portion (142) is viewed from the axial direction.
[0074] The roller section (130) may include a first roller (131) and a second roller (132). The first roller (131) is installed in the first slot (ST1) of the lower section (121) and rolls into contact with the lower surface of the press body (110), thereby guiding the press (120) to oscillate along the lower surface of the press body (110). The first slot (ST1) may include a first slot contact surface (ST1a) that contacts the first roller (131). The first roller (131) rotates in contact with the first slot contact surface (ST1a) together with the lower surface of the press body (110). A plurality of first rollers (131) may be positioned between the press body (110) and the first slot (ST1). A support structure that rotatably supports the first rollers (131) may be provided between the plurality of first rollers (131). Meanwhile, multiple first rollers (131) may be arranged in double rows. The lower part (121) may include a cover (121a) that blocks the front and rear of the first slot (ST1), respectively. The cover (121a) prevents the first roller (131) from coming out of the first slot (ST1). The second roller (132) is rotatably coupled to the side wall (122) of the press (120). The second roller (132) is positioned in the second slot (ST2).
[0075] FIG. 6 is a drawing showing the side wall of the second roller (132) and the press (120).
[0076] Referring to FIGS. 4 and 6, the second roller (132) can be rotatably coupled to the side of the side (122) facing the press body (110). Multiple second rollers (132) may be provided. Multiple second rollers (132) may be arranged to form an arc shape when viewed from the axial direction of the shaft portion (142). These second rollers (132) are located above the first roller (131).
[0077] FIG. 7 is a front view of the press (120) section, and FIG. 8 is a drawing showing the press section (100).
[0078] Referring to FIGS. 7 and 8, the first slot (ST1) may include a first slot contact surface (ST1a) that contacts the first roller (131). The second slot (ST2) may include a second slot contact surface (ST2a) that contacts the second roller (132). The center of curvature (C2) of the first slot contact surface (ST1a) and the center of curvature (C2) of the second slot contact surface (ST2a) may be the same. The center of curvature (C2) of the first slot contact surface (ST1a) may be the same as the center of curvature (C2) of the lower surface (110a) of the press body (110). The center of curvature (C2) of the first slot contact surface (ST1a) may be located on the same line as the reference line (CL) passing through the center of the press body (110). The press (120) moves along the lower surface (110a) of the press body (110) as the first roller (131) rotates, and the second roller (132) moves along the second slot (ST2) to guide the movement of the press (120).
[0079] FIG. 9 is a drawing showing a press (120) moving to a starting point (S), FIG. 10 is a drawing showing a press (120) moving to an ending point (T), FIG. 11 is a drawing showing the state in which the press (120) starts applying pressure to a unit material (10), FIG. 12 is a drawing showing the state in which the pressure applied by the press (120) to the unit material (10) is released, and FIG. 13 is a drawing showing the state in which the press unit (100) starts applying pressure to the next unit material (10).
[0080] Hereinafter, any one of the plurality of unit materials (10) is referred to as the first unit material (10A), and the unit material (10) that enters the press (120) immediately after the first unit material (10A) is referred to as the second unit material (10B).
[0081] Referring to FIGS. 9 and 11, when the rod (141) of the upper press part (100A) is retracted and moves backward in the horizontal direction, the press (120) rotates in the reverse direction (e.g., counterclockwise) around the shaft part (142), and the first roller (131) rotates while contacting the lower surface (110a) of the press body (110). Then, the second roller (132) rotates while moving along the second slot (ST2).
[0082] The press (120) moves backward along the second slot (ST2) (in a direction opposite to the direction of travel of the unit material (10)) to a starting point (S) where it begins to contact the first unit material (10A). During the process of the press (120) moving to the starting point (S), the press (120) rotates around the shaft (142), and due to the second slot (ST2) which moves gently upward backward, the contact surface (CT) comes into contact with the first unit material (10A).
[0083] At the same time, as the rod (141) of the lower press section (100B) extends and moves forward in a horizontal direction (opposite to the direction of movement of the unit material), the press (120) rotates in a forward direction (e.g., clockwise) around the shaft section (142), and the press (120) moves backward along the second slot (ST2) to the starting point (S) where it begins to contact the first unit material (10A). During the process of the press (120) moving to the starting point (S), the press (120) rotates around the shaft section (142), and due to the second slot (ST2) that slopes gently downward backward, the contact surface (CT) comes into contact with the conveyor belt (B).
[0084] Subsequently, at the starting point (S), while the press (120) is in contact with the unit material (10A), the rod (141) of the upper press section (100A) is extended and moves forward in a horizontal direction. Then, the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) rotates in a forward direction (e.g., clockwise) and moves forward along the second slot (ST2) (in the same direction as the direction of travel of the unit material (10A)) to press the first unit material (10A) and transport the first unit material (10A) to the end point (T). At the end point (T), the pressing of the first unit material (10A) ends, and the movement of the press (120) ends.
[0085] At the same time, while the press (120) is in contact with the unit material (10A) at the starting point (S), if the rod (141) of the lower press unit (100B) is retracted and moves backward in the horizontal direction (the direction of movement of the unit material), the press (120) of the lower press unit (100B) rotates in the reverse direction (e.g., counterclockwise) and moves backward along the second slot (ST2) to press the first unit material (10A) and transport the first unit material (10A) to the end point (T). At the end point (T), the pressing of the first unit material (10A) ends, and the movement of the press (120) ends.
[0086] Afterwards, at the end point (T), when the rod (141) of the upper press part (100A) is retracted and moves back in the horizontal direction, the press (120) rotates in the reverse direction (e.g., counterclockwise) around the shaft part (142) and moves backward along the second slot (ST2) to the starting point (S) where it begins contact with the second unit material (10B).
[0087] At the same time, as the rod (141) of the lower press part (100B) is also extended and moves forward in the horizontal direction, the press (120) rotates in the forward direction (e.g., clockwise) around the shaft part (142) and moves backward along the second slot (ST2) to the starting point (S) where it begins to contact the second unit material (10B).
[0088] In this way, the press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) moves back and forth between the starting point (S) and the ending point (T), sequentially pressing the unit material (10) entering the press (120). The press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) presses the unit material (10) while rotating in the direction of transport of the unit material (10), and in the space between the unit material (10), it rotates in the reverse direction to prepare to press the next unit material (10).
[0089] If the space between the unit materials (10) is smaller than the width of the unit materials (10), the control unit (200) will control the reverse rotation speed of the press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) to be faster than the forward rotation speed.
[0090] The press (120) of the lower press section (100B) rotates in the same manner as the press (120) of the upper press section (100A), except that the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) rotates clockwise, whereas the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) rotates counterclockwise.
[0091] Although there was a problem in that a press device having a small roll part (1650A in FIG. 22) applied linear pressure to the upper surface of the unit material when pressing a unit material in sheet units, the press part (100) of the present invention has the advantage of being able to apply sufficient pressure to the unit material (10) as surface pressure rather than linear pressure because it is small in size but has a large arc-shaped contact surface (CT) like a large cylindrical roll part (1650 in FIG. 21) and sufficient curvature is secured.
[0092] FIG. 14 is a drawing illustrating a pressurizing part (300) that presses the press part (100).
[0093] The press device for a secondary battery according to the embodiment of FIG. 14 may further include a press unit (300). The press unit (300) can press the upper surface of the press body (110) to apply pressure in a vertical direction. When the force applied by the press unit (100) to the unit material (10) is insufficient or additional force is required, the press unit (300) applies pressure to the press body (110) to transmit the force that enables the press unit (100) to apply pressure to the unit material (10). Two press units (100) may be provided and each may be coupled to different areas of the press body (110). Since the press unit (300) can directly press the press body (110) vertically, the press force can be stably transmitted to the press unit (100).
[0094] FIG. 15 is a drawing illustrating the pressurization process of the press section (100).
[0095] Referring to (a) in FIG. 15, first, while the press (120) is in contact with the first unit material (10A), it moves in the direction of travel of the unit material (10) to start pressing the first unit material (10A). At this time, the first unit material (10A) and the second unit material (10B) are being transported from right to left in the drawing. While the press (120) rotates in the forward direction, the pressing of the first unit material (10A) proceeds, and at the same time, the first unit material (10A) moves in the direction of travel.
[0096] As illustrated in FIG. 15 (b), while the press (120) is rotating in the forward direction, when the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) reaches the lowest point and the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) simultaneously reaches the highest point, the first unit material (10A) can be positioned at the center of the press (120). Afterward, as illustrated in FIG. 15 (c), the press (120) continues to rotate in the forward direction until contact with the first unit material (10A) is released. When contact between the press section (100) and the first unit material (10A) is released, the press (120) process for the first unit material (10A) is completed. Afterward, as illustrated in FIG. 15 (d), the press (120) rotates in the reverse direction until it comes into contact with the next second unit material (10B). At this time, the position of the press (120) is the same as the position of the press unit (100) shown in FIG. 15 (a). When the distance between the first unit material (10A) and the second unit material (10B) is shorter than the width of the unit material (10), the press unit (100) must have a reverse rotation speed faster than the forward rotation speed, and the rotation speed of the press unit (100) is controlled by the control unit (200).
[0097] Next, as the process following (a) of Fig. 15 is repeated, unit materials (10) entering the press section (100) are sequentially pressed.
[0098] Through such oscillating motion of the press unit (100), the unit material (10) entering in sheet units can be pressed (120) without stopping.
[0099] FIG. 16 is a drawing illustrating a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment.
[0100] Referring to FIG. 16, a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment may include a film (F). The film (F) may be positioned between the press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) and the unit material (10) in the vertical direction (z). The film (F) is positioned along a conveyor belt (B). In the vertical direction (z), one side of the film (F) may come into contact with the press (120) of the upper press unit (100A). In the vertical direction (z), the other side of the film (F) may come into contact with the unit material (10).
[0101] This film (F) can protect the surface of the unit material (10) when the unit material (10) is pressed by the press (120) of the upper press part (100A).
[0102] Meanwhile, the conveyor belt (B) can be made of steel. A conveyor belt (B) made of steel can withstand the pressure of the press (120). Of course, the conveyor belt (B) can also be made of rubber, just like a general conveyor belt.
[0103] FIG. 17 is a drawing illustrating a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment.
[0104] Referring to FIG. 17, in a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment, the conveyor belt (B) may include an upper conveyor belt (B1) and a lower (121) conveyor belt (B2). The upper conveyor belt (B1) may be located above the unit material (10). The lower (121) conveyor belt (B2) may be located below the unit material (10). That is, the unit material (10) may be positioned between the upper conveyor belt (B1) and the lower (121) conveyor belt (B2) in the vertical direction.
[0105] These upper conveyor belts (B1) and lower conveyor belts (B2) (121) may be made of rubber or steel (metal). When the upper conveyor belt (B1) and lower conveyor belts (B2) are made of steel, they can withstand the pressure of the press unit (100) better than rubber. Additionally, the press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) is located on the upper side of the upper conveyor belt (B1), and the press (120) of the lower press unit (100B) is located on the lower side of the lower conveyor belt (B2) (121), so that the unit material (10) can be pressed.
[0106] Alternatively, only the press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) may be positioned on the upper side of the upper conveyor belt (B1) to apply pressure, and a fixed plate (not shown) may be placed on the lower side of the lower conveyor belt (B2) instead of the press (120) of the lower press unit (100B) to apply pressure only on the upper side of the unit material (10), or conversely, only the press (120) of the lower press unit (100B) may be positioned on the lower side of the lower conveyor belt (B2) to apply pressure, and a fixed plate (not shown) may be placed on the lower side instead of the press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) to apply pressure only on the lower side of the unit material (10).
[0107] FIG. 18 is a drawing illustrating a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment.
[0108] Referring to FIG. 18, a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment includes a lower conveyor belt (B) that transports a unit material (10) and a fixed plate (FL) that supports the lower conveyor belt (B). The press (120) of the press unit (100) contacts the unit material (10), and the fixed plate (FL) contacts the lower conveyor belt (B) from below the lower conveyor belt (B). The fixed plate (FL) supports the upper press unit (100A) pressing the unit material (10) in place of the lower press unit (100B). In place of the lower press unit (100B), the fixed plate (FL) can be positioned below the conveyor belt (B) to support the pressure exerted by the upper press unit (100A) pressing the unit material (10).
[0109] A film (F) is placed between the upper press part (100A) and the unit material (10) so as to protect the unit material (10) when the upper press part (100A) presses the unit material (10).
[0110] That is, instead of having an upper press section and a lower press section, the press section (100) may have an upper press section (100A) and a fixed plate (FL). In this case, the conveyor belt (B) may be made of steel or rubber.
[0111] Conversely, the press unit (100) may be equipped with a lower press unit and a fixed plate (FL). That is, a structure is also possible in which the fixed plate (FL) is positioned above the conveyor belt (B), the unit material (10) is positioned between the fixed plate (FL) and the conveyor belt (B), and the lower press unit is positioned below the conveyor belt (B) to apply pressure from below upward.
[0112] FIG. 19 is a drawing illustrating the process of applying pressure to a unit material using a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment.
[0113] The press section (100) may further be equipped with a transfer plate (ST) for transferring the unit material (10) instead of the lower press section (100B). There is also no conveyor belt (B) for transferring the unit material (10).
[0114] When the upper press unit (100A) moves downward and contacts the unit material (10) at the center of the unit material (10), the upper press unit (100A) and the transfer plate (ST) both rotate and move sequentially in the same direction (forward direction) as the direction of travel of the unit material (10) and in the opposite direction, thereby pressing the unit material (10). Then, the press (120) and the transfer plate (ST) rotate and move so that the press (120) of the upper press unit (100A) is positioned again at the center of the unit material (10).
[0115] Referring to FIG. 19, a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment can perform the press (120) process using only the upper press section (100A) without the lower press section. In this case, a transfer plate (ST) may be provided in place of the lower press section and the conveyor belt. The transfer plate (ST) serves to transfer the unit material (10) in the left and right directions.
[0116] For example, as shown in FIG. 19 (a), a transfer plate (ST) can transport a unit material (10) and align it with an upper press part (100A). Then, as shown in FIG. 19 (b), the upper press part (100A) descends and contacts the center of the unit material (10).
[0117] Next, as shown in (c) of FIG. 19, the transfer plate (ST) and the upper press unit (100A) can move together to press the unit material (10). For example, the upper press unit (100A) can rotate clockwise and the transfer plate (ST) can move to the left in the drawing to press the unit material (10).
[0118] Next, as shown in (d) of FIG. 19, the upper press part (100A) rotates counterclockwise and the transfer plate (ST) moves to the right in the drawing to press the unit material (10).
[0119] Next, as shown in (e) of FIG. 19, the upper press unit (100A) is rotated clockwise again so that the center of the upper press unit (100A) and the unit material (10) are aligned, and then the pressing of the unit material (10) can be stopped. Next, the upper press unit (100A) can move upward to wait to press the next unit material (10).
[0120] FIG. 23 is a drawing illustrating the process of applying pressure to a unit material using a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment.
[0121] A press device used in a pressurization process according to another embodiment of the present invention has the same structure as the press device of the previously described embodiment. That is, it includes a press unit (100) that contacts the unit material in an up-and-down direction and a control unit (200) that controls the rotation of the press unit. The press unit (100) includes a press body (110), a press (120) that includes a contact surface (CT) that contacts the unit material (10) and is slidably coupled to the press body (110), a roller unit (130) that is disposed between the press body (110) and the press (120) and contacts the press body (110) and the press (120), and a drive unit (140) connected to the press (120).
[0122] The control unit (200) controls the press unit (100) to oscillate in the forward and reverse directions within a certain angle range centered on the shaft (142) of the press unit (100). However, the process of pressing the unit material (10) is different.
[0123] That is, when the center of the unit material (10) is aligned with the center of the press unit (100), the unit material (10) moves forward and backward once each by a certain distance in the conveying direction of the unit material (10), and then moves forward again to be aligned again with the vertical reference line (CL) in the center of the press unit (100). At this time, the press unit (100) presses the unit material (10) while rotating in the same direction as the movement direction of the unit material (10).
[0124] More specifically, when the center of the unit material (10) is aligned with the center of the press unit (100), the press unit (100) moves vertically toward the unit material (10) to press the unit material (10) and rotates in the same direction as the movement direction of the unit material (10). Then, when the center of the unit material (10) is aligned with the center of the press unit (100) again, the press unit (100) moves vertically toward the opposite direction of the unit material (10) to release the pressure.
[0125] When the pressure of the press unit (100) is released, the unit material (10) that was pressurized moves in the direction of transport of the unit material (10), and after the center of the unit material entering next is aligned with the center of the press unit (100), the unit material repeats the motion of moving forward, backward, and forward again in the same manner as described above, and at this time, the pressure of the press unit proceeds simultaneously.
[0126] The operation is explained in more detail with reference to Fig. 23.
[0127] As illustrated in FIG. 23, the press unit (100) includes an upper press unit (100A) and a lower press unit (100B) positioned with the unit material (10) in between in the vertical direction. Additionally, a conveyor belt (B) for transporting the unit material (10) is located on the lower surface of the unit material (10). The unit material (10) moves forward and backward while moving in the transport direction by the conveyor belt (B).
[0128] In the press device for a secondary battery illustrated in FIG. 23, the upper press section (100A) performs forward and reverse oscillating motion at a position close to the unit material (10). Then, the lower press section (100B) moves vertically up and down below the conveyor belt (B) to press or release the unit material (10).
[0129] The upper press section (100A) is positioned close to the unit material (10) above the unit material (10) and does not move up or down, but performs rotational movement in the forward direction (forward) and reverse direction (backward). Specifically, the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) performs oscillating movement in the forward and reverse directions along the second slot (ST2) of the press body (110) around the shaft section (142).
[0130] Then, the lower press part (100B) moves vertically from the bottom to the top of the unit material to press the unit material (10), and when the pressing operation is finished, only the lower press part (100B) moves to the bottom of the unit material (10).
[0131] Specifically, the unit material (10) is aligned at the center (CL) of the lower press section (100B) (a). Assume that the unit material (10) is transported from the right to the left in FIG. 23. Then, the lower press section (100B) rises vertically and presses the unit material (10) while pressing the conveyor belt (B) (b). Then, the unit material (10) that was aligned at the center moves forward in the same direction as the transport direction (forward direction, moving from the right to the left in FIG. 23). At this time, the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) and the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) rotate together in the same direction as the movement direction of the unit material (10) and press the unit material (10) (c). Referring to FIG. 23, the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) rotates clockwise around the shaft (142), and the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) rotates counterclockwise around the shaft (142). The end of the unit material (10) advances to the position (CL) where the center of the unit material (10) is aligned with the center of the lower press section (100B).
[0132] After the forward movement of the unit material (10) is finished, the unit material (10) moves backward in the reverse direction of the transfer direction. The unit material (10) moves backward until the center of the unit material (10) is aligned with the center of the lower press section (100B) at position (CL). At this time, the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) and the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) rotate together while pressing the unit material (10) in the same direction (backward) as the movement direction of the unit material (10) (d). The press (120) of the upper press section (100A) rotates counterclockwise around the shaft section (142), and the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) rotates clockwise around the shaft section (142).
[0133] After the backward movement of the unit material (10) is finished, the unit material (10) advances again to the central position (CL) of the lower press section (100B) and is aligned. The upper press section (100A) and the lower press section (100B) also rotate together while pressing the unit material (10) in the same direction (forward) as the movement direction of the unit material (10) (e).
[0134] When the center of the unit material (10) is aligned with the center (CL) of the lower press section (100B), the lower press section (100B) descends vertically (f). Then, the pressurized unit material (10) moves in the direction of transport of the unit material, and the center of the next unit material entering is aligned with the center of the lower press section (100B). This movement of the unit material is operated by a conveyor belt.
[0135] Through the process disclosed in FIG. 23, after the center of the unit material (10) is aligned with the center of the lower press part (100B), the unit material is pressed and simultaneously moves forward-backward-forward to be aligned with the center again and then transported in the transport direction, and the next unit material entering repeats the same operation.
[0136] FIG. 24 is a drawing illustrating the process of applying pressure to a unit material using a press device for a secondary battery according to another embodiment.
[0137] In contrast to the embodiment of FIG. 23, the lower press part (100B) performs only forward and reverse oscillating motions at a position close to the conveyor belt (B), and the upper press part (100A) moves vertically up and down above the conveyor belt (B) to press or release the unit material (10).
[0138] That is, when the unit material (10) is aligned with the center of the upper press section (100A) (a), the upper press section (100A) descends vertically to press the unit material (b), and the press (120) of the upper press section (100A) and the press (120) of the lower press section (100B) rotate in the same direction as the movement direction of the unit material (10) to press the unit material (10), and when the unit material (10) is aligned again with the center (CL) of the upper press section (100A) (c, d, e), the upper press section (100A) ascends vertically (f), the pressed unit material (10) moves in the direction of transport of the unit material, and the center of the unit material entering next is aligned with the center of the upper press section (100A).
[0139] That is, the only difference between the embodiment of FIG. 24 and the embodiment of FIG. 23 is that the upper press unit (100A) moves vertically upward and downward, while the lower press unit (100B) moves vertically upward and downward. The process of the upper press unit (100A) and the lower press unit (100B) pressing and rotating the unit material and the movement of the unit material is identical. Therefore, a detailed description of the embodiment of FIG. 24 is omitted.
[0140] As another embodiment, a process is also possible in which the upper press unit (100A) and the lower press unit (100B) simultaneously move vertically in the upper and lower directions, respectively, above and below the unit material (10) and the conveyor belt (B) to press or release the unit material (10).
[0141] That is, as in the embodiments of FIGS. 23 and 24, the lower press part (100B) and the upper press part (100A) move vertically at the same time to be positioned close to the center of the unit material, and then the unit material moves in the same manner as in FIGS. 23 and 24.
[0142] In the embodiments of FIGS. 23 and 24, after the center of the unit material is aligned with the center of the upper press section or the lower press section, the distance the unit material moves backward is longer than the distance the unit material moves forward. That is, when moving forward, it moves only half the width of the unit material, and when moving backward, it moves the width of the unit material.
[0143] Although specific embodiments of the press device for a secondary battery according to the present invention have been described above, it is obvious that various modifications are possible within the scope of the present invention.
[0144] Therefore, the scope of the present invention should not be limited to the described embodiments, but should be defined by the claims set forth below as well as equivalents thereof.
[0145] That is, the aforementioned embodiments should be understood as exemplary in all respects and not limiting, and the scope of the invention is defined by the claims set forth below rather than by the detailed description, and all modifications or variations derived from the meaning and scope of the claims and equivalent concepts thereof should be interpreted as being included within the scope of the invention.
