Abstract

The present invention relates to a foveated image rendering device and method for improving object detection performance by combining the function of an eye-tracking camera with an input image to improve interaction characteristics and response characteristics with a user. The device comprises: an electronic device including at least one processor for foveated image rendering; an eyewear device including a sensor (6DoF) for detecting head movements of an eyewear device wearer and a camera sensor (Eye Tracker) for tracking the gaze of an eyewear device wearer; and a foveated image rendering control unit that captures the movement of the pupil in a scene of an input image, tracks the position of the gaze point, collects information regarding the spatial relationship between objects, and renders at different resolutions for each region.
