[0019] Referring to FIGS. 1 and 2, a handpiece (100) having a polishing member combined with a radial brush according to the present invention comprises: a handpiece body (110); and a polishing member unit (120) coupled to a handpiece bar (111) of the handpiece body (110) and rotating to polish a surface to be polished, wherein the polishing member unit (120) comprises: a ring-shaped polishing member (121) coupled with a radial brush; a fixed shaft (122) for coupling the polishing member (121) to the end portion of the handpiece bar (111); a nut (123) formed at one end portion of the fixed shaft (122) for screw-couple the polishing member (121) to the end portion of the fixed shaft (122); and a bolt (124) that penetrates the center of the polishing member (121) and is coupled to the nut (123).
[0020] The handpiece having a polishing member combined with a radial brush of the present invention configured as described above will be explained in detail with reference to FIGS. 3 and FIGS. 4.
[0021] The handpiece body (110) includes a handpiece bar (111) that is extended and connected to a grinding member unit (120) at one end and a motor (not shown in the drawing) installed inside to rotate the handpiece bar (111).
[0022] The polishing member unit (120) is rotated while coupled to the handpiece bar (111), and a polishing member is rotatably coupled to the polishing member unit (120). Therefore, metal parts, crafts, furniture, etc. can be polished using the polishing member unit (120).
[0023] To this end, the grinding member unit (120) includes a grinding member (121), a fixed shaft (122), a nut (123), and a bolt (124).
[0024] The above grinding member (121) includes a radial brush (121A), a tube rivet (121B), and a connecting nut (121C).
[0025] The above radial brush (121A) is made by using the user’s thumb and index finger to spread the upper and lower parts of the hair bundle (121-1) radially with respect to the bundle (121-2), as shown in FIG. 3 (a), while the hair bundle (121-1) is tied with a ring-shaped binding loop (121-2).
[0026] As another embodiment, a radial brush machine with a simple structure can be used. In this case, a bundle of hair (121-1) tied with the ring-shaped bundle (121-2) can be inserted into the radial brush machine, and a radial brush (121A) can be made by applying pressure with a conical part at the upper and lower parts.
[0027] Here, the type of hair is not specifically limited, and artificial hair made from animal hair possessing elasticity greater than a certain value may be used. In this embodiment, horsehair is described as an example of a preferred type of hair. Experimental results confirmed that horsehair has excellent polishing and glossing effects on metals.
[0028] As shown in FIG. 4a, a hollow portion is formed in the tube rivet (121B) that penetrates in the longitudinal direction. The tube portion of the tube rivet (121B), excluding the head portion, penetrates the center of the radial brush (121A), and the end portion is exposed to a certain extent.
[0029] A connecting nut (121C) is connected to the exposed end of the pipe rivet (121B). There may be various methods for connecting the connecting nut (121C) and the exposed end of the pipe rivet (121B). For example, pressure may be applied to the exposed end of the pipe rivet (121B) using a press machine so that the exposed end spreads outward toward the connecting nut (121C) to be connected.
[0030] One end of the fixed shaft (122) is connected to the end of the handpiece bar (111), and the grinding member (121) is screw-connected to the other end. To this end, a step is formed on the other end of the fixed shaft (122), and a nut (123) is formed on the inner diameter of the step.
[0031] The bolt (124) penetrates the hollow portion of the grinding member (121) and is coupled with a nut (123) formed at the other end of the fixed shaft (122).
[0032] Accordingly, a polishing unit (120) combined with a polishing member (121) equipped with a radial brush (121A) is coupled to the end of the handpiece bar (111) to enable polishing work on metal parts, crafts, furniture, etc.
[0033] When polishing a metal material (e.g., 14K metal) using a ring-shaped polishing member (121) equipped with a radial brush (121A) made of horsehair material, a polishing effect can be obtained.
[0034] Meanwhile, FIG. 5 is a flowchart of a method for manufacturing a grinding member unit according to the present invention.
[0035] Referring to FIG. 5, the method for manufacturing a polishing member unit according to the present invention includes a hair bundling step (S1), a radial brush forming step (S2), a ring-shaped polishing member fastening step (S3), and a polishing member unit fastening step (S4).
[0036] The method for manufacturing the polishing member unit of the present invention as described above is explained with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4 as follows.
[0037] In the hair bundling step (S1), the hair is bundled into a target amount of hair bundles (121-1) using a bundling ring (121-2) as shown in Fig. 3 (a).
[0038] In the radial brush forming step (S2), as shown in Fig. 3 (b), the hair bundle (121-1) is spread out in the upper and lower directions based on the bundle ring (121-2) to form a radial brush (121A).
[0039] In the ring-shaped polishing member fastening step (S3), a ring-shaped polishing member (121) is fastened by combining a tube rivet (121B) and a connecting nut (121C) with the radial brush (121A).
[0040] In the grinding member unit fastening step (S4), one end of the fixed shaft (122) is connected to the end of the handpiece bar (111), and the ring-shaped grinding member (121) is screw-connected to the other end.
[0041] Although preferred embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail above, the scope of the present invention is not limited thereto and may be implemented in various other embodiments based on the basic concept of the present invention as defined in the following claims, and such embodiments are also included within the scope of the present invention.
