The battery management device disclosed in this document includes a communication unit that receives battery data of a battery cell and a control unit that derives a voltage average value for each of the multiple intervals included in the battery data, inputs some of the voltage average values for the multiple intervals into a self-supervised learning-based learning model, and detects whether the battery cell is defective using a voltage prediction value output by the learning model.
