Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a method for automating or supporting the process of selecting optimal values for network-related configuration values by utilizing network analysis information in a mobile communication system. Network analysis information relates to an apparatus and method in which an NWDAF located in a core network or a corresponding entity collects information from devices located inside or outside the network, processes the analysis, and transmits the results. This analysis information may include analysis information related to terminals, wired and wireless network status information, and analysis information related to services used by each terminal, and may include statistical analysis information regarding past and present situations along with predictive information related to future points in time. Background Technology
[0002] Efforts are being made to develop improved 5G (5th generation) communication systems or pre-5G communication systems to meet the increasing demand for wireless data traffic following the commercialization of 4G (4th generation) communication systems. For this reason, 5G communication systems or pre-5G communication systems are referred to as Beyond 4G Network communication systems or Post-LTE systems.
[0003] To achieve high data transmission rates, 5G communication systems are being considered for implementation in the mmWave band (e.g., the 60 GHz band). To mitigate path loss and increase the transmission distance of radio waves in the mmWave band, beamforming, massive MIMO, full Dimensional MIMO (FD-MIMO), array antenna, analog beamforming, and large-scale antenna technologies are being discussed for 5G communication systems.
[0004] In addition, to improve the network of the system, technologies such as advanced small cell, advanced small cell, cloud radio access network (cloud RAN), ultra-dense network, Device to Device communication (D2D), wireless backhaul, moving network, cooperative communication, Coordinated Multi-Points (CoMP), and interference cancellation are being developed in 5G communication systems.
[0005] In addition, advanced coding modulation (ACM) methods such as FQAM (Hybrid Frequency Shift Keying and Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) and SWSC (Sliding Window Superposition Coding), as well as advanced access technologies such as FBMC (Filter Bank Multi Carrier), NOMA (Non Orthogonal Multiple Access), and SCMA (Sparse Code Multiple Access) are being developed in 5G systems.
[0006] Meanwhile, the Internet is evolving from a human-centered network where humans generate and consume information into an IoT (Internet of Things) network where distributed components, such as objects, exchange and process information. IoE (Internet of Everything) technology, which combines IoT with Big Data processing technologies through connections with cloud servers, is also emerging. To implement IoT, technological elements such as sensing technology, wired and wireless communication and network infrastructure, service interface technology, and security technology are required; consequently, technologies such as sensor networks, Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication, and Machine-Type Communication (MTC) are currently being researched to facilitate the connection of objects. In an IoT environment, intelligent IT services that create new value for human life by collecting and analyzing data generated from connected objects can be provided. Through the convergence and integration of existing IT technologies with various industries, IoT can be applied to fields such as smart homes, smart buildings, smart cities, smart or connected cars, smart grids, healthcare, smart home appliances, and advanced medical services.
[0007] Accordingly, various attempts are being made to apply 5G communication systems to IoT networks. For example, 5G communication such as sensor networks, Machine to Machine (M2M), and Machine Type Communication (MTC) is being implemented through techniques such as beamforming, MIMO, and array antennas. The application of cloud RAN as a big data processing technology, as described earlier, can also be considered an example of the convergence of 5G technology and IoT technology.
[0008] Meanwhile, with the rollout of 5G mobile communication, various wireless access technologies coexist, similar to existing 3G or 4G (LTE) networks. Furthermore, the introduction of high frequencies has expanded available frequency bands, and it is expected that a greater number of base stations than before will be installed to meet high communication requirements. Under these circumstances, research is needed on methods to efficiently manage wireless resources and devices to reduce network management costs or power consumption, or to minimize interference. The problem to be solved
[0009] Various embodiments of the present disclosure include a method to support a terminal or base station in selecting a radio access technology or selecting a frequency band for radio access, or in making an optimized decision, by utilizing analysis information provided by an NWDAF within a mobile communication system. In this case, the NWDAF includes a method of collecting and processing information from various sources of information located inside or outside the mobile communication system to generate such network analysis information.
[0010] The technical problems to be solved by the present invention are not limited to those mentioned above, and other technical problems not mentioned will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art to which the present invention belongs from the description below. means of solving the problem
[0011] To solve the problem described above, the present disclosure may have the following means of solution. The present invention, for solving the problem described above, is characterized in that it comprises a method for processing a control signal in a wireless communication system, the step of receiving a first control signal transmitted from a base station; the step of processing the received first control signal; and the step of transmitting a second control signal generated based on the processing to the base station. Effects of the invention
[0012] Currently, the number of terminals utilizing mobile communication networks and the number of services and applications supporting them are increasing exponentially. Furthermore, to improve the quality of mobile communication networks, the design and operation of wireless and core networks are becoming increasingly sophisticated. In this context, new types of terminals are emerging, extending beyond those simply used for voice calls and data services to include factories, unmanned aerial vehicles, robots, automobiles, and airplanes. As these new types of terminals are expected to continue increasing, mobile communication networks are also anticipated to undergo continuous service evolution to effectively support their purposes.
[0013] While the purposes and forms of various terminals are constantly changing, mobile communication networks currently operate in a manner where all terminals share wireless resources, and the core network is generally shared by all terminals as well. Since each terminal differs in form and purpose, it leads to differences in its interaction with the network depending on the operating format and the services used. Therefore, to effectively support each type of terminal, the mobile communication network must analyze the purpose and service requirements of each terminal and maintain optimized settings. Furthermore, to effectively support each terminal and service, the network must be operated in a way that continuously provides the desired level of service at minimal cost by identifying the characteristics of each terminal and optimizing and automating configuration and management.
[0014] The present invention includes support for operations that enable the automation of network device or resource configurations to satisfy high-level requirements for mobile communication network operation, such as minimizing energy consumption, maximizing service satisfaction, and minimizing interference between resources, in the operation of resources necessary for service provision, including wireless and core network resources. Such resources may include base stations supporting wireless access technology, frequency bandwidths used by base stations, and base station transmission and reception power. Currently, most mobile communication resources are operated as is after installation without dynamic configuration changes, and all resources are activated and operated even when there are no users or service requirements are low. Furthermore, with the advancement of technology, the types and number of such resources are increasing, the costs for managing resource operations are continuously rising, and the methods to support such operations are becoming increasingly complex. To support the automation of such resource configurations, the necessary information involves identifying and predicting the service level required by each terminal or user, and reducing operating costs by operating the network using the minimum resources capable of satisfying that level. In addition, it includes methods to predict in advance and prevent service gaps, interference, and a decline in quality below the required level that may occur during changes to the configuration of these resources.
[0015] The effects obtainable from the present invention are not limited to those mentioned above, and other unmentioned effects will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the description below. Brief explanation of the drawing

[0024] In describing the embodiments of the present disclosure in detail, the focus is primarily on the New RAN (NR) wireless access network and the packet core (5G System, or 5G Core Network, or NG Core: Next Generation Core) of the 5G mobile communication standard specified by 3GPP, a mobile communication standardization organization; however, the main point of the present disclosure is applicable to other communication systems having a similar technical background with slight modifications without significantly departing from the scope of the present disclosure, and this will be possible at the judgment of a person with skilled technical knowledge in the technical field of the present disclosure.
[0025] For convenience of explanation below, some terms and names defined in 3GPP (3rd Generation Partnership Project Long Term Evolution) standards (specifications for 5G, NR, LTE, or similar systems) may be used. However, the present disclosure is not limited by the above terms and names and may be equally applied to systems conforming to other standards.
[0026] Furthermore, terms used in the following description to identify connected nodes, terms referring to network entities, terms referring to messages, terms referring to interfaces between network entities, terms referring to various identification information, etc., are provided as examples for the convenience of explanation. Accordingly, the present disclosure is not limited to the terms used herein, and other terms referring to objects having equivalent technical meanings may be used.
[0027] The present disclosure relates to a method for supporting the operation of an unmanned aerial vehicle in a mobile communication system conforming to 3GPP standard specifications, wherein the devices or objects described below can interact to achieve the purpose of the invention.
[0028] Hereinafter, among the various elements constituting the core network, devices directly related to the present disclosure are described by example. A configuration diagram showing the interaction of each element using a Service Based Interface is illustrated in FIG. 1.
[0029] The Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) is a device for managing the access and mobility of terminals, serving as a terminal-to-core network endpoint through which terminals connect with other devices in the core network via the RAN. Functions provided by the AMF may include, for example, terminal registration, connection, reachability, mobility management, access verification / authentication, and the generation of mobility events.
[0030] The Session Management Function (SMF) performs the management of the terminal's PDU sessions. For example, the SMF can perform functions such as session management through the establishment, modification, and release of sessions and maintaining the necessary tunnel between the UPF and AN, IP address allocation and management functions for the terminal, ARP Proxy functions, User Plane selection and control, traffic processing control in the UPF, and billing data collection control.
[0031] The Policy Control Function (PCF) performs the role of determining and enforcing policies regarding access, mobility, and session management applied by the AMF and SMF. For example, the PCF governs the behavior of the entire network and can provide policies to be implemented to the Network Functions (NFs) that constitute the control plane. Additionally, the PCF can access information related to policy decisions by accessing the Unified Data Repository (UDR).
[0032] The Network Exposure Function (NEF) is responsible for transmitting or receiving events and capabilities occurring in the mobile network to or from the outside. For example, the NEF performs functions such as securely provisioning information from external applications to the core network, converting internal / external information, and storing and redistributing capabilities received from other NFs in the UDR.
[0033] UDM (Unified Data Management) and UDR (Unified Data Repository) are independent network functions, but in this embodiment, their functions and roles are used similarly and are described together. UDM can perform, for example, the generation of AKA authentication information for 3GPP security, processing of User IDs, reverse concealment of Subscriber Concealed IDs (SUPI), management of a list of NFs supporting the current UE, subscription management, and SMS management. UDR can perform, for example, the function of storing and providing subscriber information managed by UDM, structured data for exposure, NEFs, or application data associated with services.
[0034] The User Plane Function (UPF) performs the role of processing actual user data and handles packets to transmit packets generated by the terminal to an external data network or to transmit data received from the external data network to the terminal. Key functions provided by the UPF may include, for example, acting as an anchor between Radio Access Technologies, providing connectivity between PDU sessions and external data networks, packet routing and forwarding, packet inspection, application of user plane policies, generation of traffic usage reports, and buffering.
[0035] The Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF) can collect events or information occurring within a network and use tools such as analysis tools or machine learning to deliver statistics, predictions, and recommendations related to specific information to NFs, AFs, and OAMs. For example, the NWDAF can perform functions such as collecting data from NFs, AFs, and OAMs, registering NWDAF services and exposing metadata, and providing network analysis information to NFs and AFs.
[0036] The UCMF (UE Radio Capability Management Function) performs the function of storing and providing mapping information between the ID of a wireless access-related function of a terminal assigned by the PLMN or the manufacturer and the actual function in the form of a dictionary.
[0037] Application Functions (AFs) perform functions that interoperate with the 3GPP core network to provide services. AFs can be broadly classified into trusted and untrusted types; trusted AFs can utilize the services of network functions located within the core network without the need for separate intermediate functions such as Network Efforts (NEFs). Typical functions provided by AFs include application influence on traffic routing, utilization of network information exposure functions, interaction with policy frameworks for policy control, and interactions related to IMS.
[0038] OAM (Operation, Administration, and Maintenance) is a mechanism for managing the entire mobile communication network, including base stations and core networks. For example, OAM can perform functions related to network operation, management, maintenance, provisioning, and troubleshooting. Additionally, OAM can perform monitoring and configuration functions to ensure that the functions of each base station or core network operate smoothly in accordance with design and policies. As a concept encompassing all management-related tools and procedures, OAM does not refer to a specific device but can include all tools, software, and procedures used by network administrators for management purposes.
[0039] A representative parameter provided to support the management of wireless or radio resources in mobile communication networks is the RFSP (Radio / Frequency Selection Priority) index value. This value can be transmitted from the AMF to the RAN via the N2 interface in the core network, and it can be used by the RAN to determine the RRM strategy. The purpose of setting this value is to assign priority between cells when a terminal in Idle mode selects a cell, or to allow terminals in Active or Connected modes to select a Radio Access Technology (RAT) or determine different frequency bands. This value can be configured differently depending on the terminal (UE-specific) or by considering network slice information. A typical method for setting this value is to configure it in the subscriber data managed by the UDM (United Device Manager) that manages subscriber information in the network, and the AMF can obtain the value during the process of creating the terminal context (UE Context). In this case, the value may be one that the network operator has set independently.
[0040] To change or dynamically configure RFSP index values, the AMF establishes a connection related to Access and Mobility (AM) policies during the terminal registration process and transmits the RFSP index values previously received from the UDM to the PCF. Upon receiving the transmitted RFSP values, the PCF can determine a new RFSP index value optimized for the currently requesting registration terminal and network operations using internally collected information, and transmit this value to the AMF. In this process, to determine the terminal's RFSP index value, the PCF may consider the terminal's usage type (voice or data-oriented) transmitted during registration, the terminal's accumulated usage history, and slice load information. The newly generated RFSP index value is internally updated by the AMF and can be transmitted to the RAN.
[0041] The present disclosure includes a method to support NWDAF in determining an RFSP index value by considering the terminal's service usage history and the current network conditions, in addition to information previously used, when determining the RFSP index value by a PCF or AMF. To support this, the present disclosure includes a method for NWDAF to collect data necessary to generate relevant analysis information, a method for providing analyzed information, and a method for an NF that requested analysis information to utilize the analysis information.
[0042] The exchange of information and control signals between the aforementioned entities uses the procedures, interfaces, and protocols defined in the 3GPP standard specification documents. However, not all terms included in this disclosure are limited by the 3GPP terms and names mentioned above and may be equally applied to systems and devices conforming to other standards. In describing the embodiments of this disclosure specifically, the communication standards defined by 3GPP will be the primary focus; however, the main gist of this disclosure can be applied to other communication systems having a similar technical background with slight modifications, provided that the scope of this disclosure does not deviate significantly from the scope of this disclosure, and this will be possible at the judgment of a person skilled in the art.
[0044] [1st Embodiment] - Method for collecting terminal or network-related information of NWDAF
[0045] As described above, the Network Data Analytics Function (NWDAF) collects various data generated in the network and processes the collected data using various methods, such as statistical techniques or machine learning, to provide statistical or predictive information related to network analysis. Representative analysis information provided by the NWDAF includes slice load information, load information of a specific Network Function (NF), and the movement path of a specific terminal. In this case, the values of the analysis information can be statistical values collected from the past to the present, or predictive values related to a specific future point in time.
[0046] The core analytical information provided in this disclosure can be broadly classified into two categories. The information corresponding to the first category may relate to service usage information and wireless access information of the terminal being analyzed. NWDAF can analyze information such as the types of services generally used by existing terminals, network performance requirements of the terminals, preferred RATs or frequency bandwidths of the terminals, and service utilization patterns. Through this, values regarding network quality or experience perceived by the terminal or user in specific network situations can be derived. The information corresponding to the second category may be the number and expected information of terminals using a specific wireless access technology (EUTRA or NR) or a specific frequency band (low frequency band) in a specific area. NWDAF can collect and analyze the number and expected information of terminals using a specific wireless access technology (EUTRA or NR) or a specific frequency band (low frequency band) in a specific area.
[0047] The additional information provided in conjunction with the aforementioned information can be reprocessed into two forms. The first form is an analysis or predicted value regarding whether a specific terminal can satisfy the terminal's service level when it moves to a specific RAT or a specific frequency band, and the resulting service quality or service experience. In this case, the specific terminal can serve as a predicted value for a specific location and time. The second form is an analysis or predicted value regarding whether terminals located in a specific area can be moved to a specific RAT or frequency band.
[0048] Table 1 includes information collected by NWDAF from NFs within the core network. Table 2 includes information collected through OAM. Table 3 describes information collected through AF. The information collected by NWADF from the core network consists of AM (Access and Mobility management) related information and SM (Session management) related information of a specific terminal. Its purpose is to collect information on the status of network services currently being used by the terminal by collecting functional information, location information, and session-related information regarding the terminal's ability to interact with the core network.

[0052] The information collected through OAM relates to base stations providing wireless access technology, and is gathered to provide analysis information targeting specific terminals or specific regions. This information is correlated and used to generate data for determining the types of RATs provided in a specific region and the quality of the wireless access network under various conditions.

[0056] The AF may provide information related to the provision of a specific service or provide a function that exerts influence by calling an interface to change parameters related to the provision of the service. The present disclosure includes a method for collecting information to generate information for analyzing the type and quality of service for a specific application provided by the AF.
[0058] name provider explanation Application Identifier (application ID) AF Identifier used to identify a specific application Service experience AF The level of quality perceived by a terminal when using a specific application. Representative examples include information such as MoS (Mean of Opinion).
[0060] Figure 1 illustrates a procedure for collecting the three types of information described above from entities located inside and outside the core network.
[0061] The information collected by NWDAF can be classified into three types based on the types of targets, as mentioned above. The methods used to collect information may also differ depending on the type of information being collected. When collecting information from AMF, SMF, UPF, UCMF, and UDM, newly generated or modified information can be collected by receiving relevant events based on the Event Exposure structure provided to the core network. Additionally, UE contexts or subscription information managed within AMF or UDM can be collected through services. These services may take the form of Namf_communication_UEContextTransfer or Nudm_SDM_get. The Nudm_UECM_get service provided by UDM can be used to identify a specific NF instance supporting a particular terminal. The process of collecting information from OAM, which falls under the second category, utilizes interfaces provided by OAM and can be used to collect information or configuration values gathered from the RAN. Typically, information can be collected from the OAM by calling the Subscription service exposed by the OAM to receive related output values, or by transferring a file when a specific file is created. This process may utilize methods specified in 3GPP TS 28.532 or non-standardized methods for transmission or collection. Finally, to collect information from an AF located outside the core network, specific parameters are modified via the NEF to collect the information provided by the AF. Typical parameters used to collect each piece of information include the specific terminal identifier (SUPI) and location information (TAI, TAC, Cell ID).Additionally, to associate information that changes over time, a timestamp representing a specific time zone can be collected along with each piece of information. There is no priority in collecting information for each entity, and it is possible to perform the process simultaneously or collect information in an order different from that of cities.
[0063] [Second Embodiment] - Method for providing network analysis information centered on service utilization information of NWDAF terminals
[0064] The present disclosure includes a method for delivering analysis information related to terminal usage based on collected information to a user (consumer) who has requested network analysis information provided by NWDAF. The purpose of providing this network analysis information is to analyze the terminal's usage patterns to identify the characteristics of network services generally required by the terminal. This information can be utilized to determine whether a service requiring connectivity, such as a telephone, is being used, or whether the bandwidth required for a service request, such as data communication, can be provided. The output of the network analysis information provided in this disclosure is described in detail in Table 4.
[0066] name explanation S-NSSAI Slice information used by the terminal DNN (Data Network Name) Data network information used by the terminal Terminal Identifier (UE Identifier) An identifier used to identify a terminal. SUPI can be commonly used. GPSI and others may be used instead. UE Usage Type Based on the terminal's usage type, usage patterns can be classified as voice-centric or data-centric. Media Type Information on the media type of the service primarily used by the terminal. It can be classified into forms such as text, audio, image, video, message, and phone. Types defined in RFC 6838 may be used, or values arbitrarily set by the network operator may be used. It may also be extended to provide ratio information for each type. For example, it can be provided in the form [Text: 10%, Audio: 70%, Video: 20%]. In this case, audio may be provided as the representative media type. Mobility type Distinguishing information indicating the mobility type of a terminal. It can be represented by classifications such as stationary, light mobility, frequent mobility, and fast mobility. Average Bandwidth The average bandwidth used by the terminal Maximum Bandwidth Maximum bandwidth used by the terminal Application list A list of applications primarily used by the terminal. Applications can be represented by application IDs. Additionally, usage or usage ratios for each application may be provided. 5QI list A list of 5QI values that can satisfy this by considering the terminal's service usage pattern.
[0068] Figure 3 illustrates the above Table 4. Figure 3 illustrates the process of NWDAF providing terminal-specific usage analysis information to the user.
[0069] In the first embodiment described above, the information used to generate this analysis information may be limited to only the information in Table 1 and Table 2.
[0070] Step 1 - The user (Consumer) can request service usage information for a list of specific terminals through a message provided by NWDAF. The message may be Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe. In this case, time-related information may be additionally transmitted to the filter information intended to limit the information used by the terminal within a specific period or at a specific future point in time. If information is required only once during this process, Nnwdaf_AnalyticInfo_Request may be used instead of Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe.
[0071] Step 2 - NWDAF can collect necessary information to provide requested terminal usage analysis information and generate analysis information through this. At this time, if terminal-related information is already being collected, the process of collecting network information may be omitted.
[0072] Step 3 - NWDAF delivers the generated analysis information to the requesting user. If a subscription was made in Step 1, the analysis information can be delivered whenever the conditions for delivering a notification are met. If analysis information is requested as a one-time request using AnalyticInfo_Request, the process can be terminated after sending a notification related to the analysis information once.
[0074] [Third Embodiment] - Method for utilizing network analysis information centered on terminal service utilization information
[0075] The present disclosure includes a method utilizing the second embodiment described above. The present disclosure includes a method in which a PCF generates an RFSP index value by utilizing network analysis information provided by an NWDAF. Although the present disclosure describes the PCF as a user of the NWDAF, the same method may be used through an AMF. A procedure for the present disclosure is illustrated in FIG. 4. FIG. 4 illustrates the process of setting an RFSP index value by utilizing analysis information provided by the NWDAF.
[0077] Step 1 - The AMF may recognize that it is necessary to establish an AM Association with the PCF to receive an Access and Mobility (AM) related policy association with the PCF due to the initial registration of the terminal or the occurrence of an AMF change.
[0078] Step 2 - You can create an AM-related policy association with the PCF by selecting an appropriate PCF based on the PCF selection policy.
[0079] Step 3 - The PCF may recognize that it requires network analysis information from the NWDAF to determine the RFSP Index value. At this time, the PCF may be configured by internal policy to always receive analysis information from the NWDAF, as it needs to set the RFSP Index value. Optionally, if there is no known usage information for the terminal, the PCF may request terminal analysis information from the NWDAF to handle cases where a specific slice is congested. Additionally, the operator may request terminal service usage analysis information from the NWDAF as part of the application of policies such as network energy optimization, network performance maximization, and user service experience maximization, as an internal policy of the PCF.
[0080] Step 4 - PCF can request service usage information for a list of specific terminals through a message provided by NWDAF. The message may be Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe. In this case, time-related information may be additionally transmitted to the filter information to limit the information used by the terminal at a specific interval or at a specific future point in time. If information is required only once during this process, Nnwdaf_AnalyticInfo_Request may be used instead of Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe.
[0081] Step 5 - NWDAF can collect necessary information to provide requested terminal usage analysis information and generate analysis information through this. At this time, if terminal-related information is already being collected, the process of collecting network information may be omitted.
[0082] Step 6 - NWDAF delivers the generated analysis information to the requesting user. If a subscription was made in Step 1, the analysis information can be delivered whenever the conditions for delivering a notification are met. If analysis information is requested as a one-time request using AnalyticInfo_Request, the process can be terminated after sending a notification related to the analysis information once.
[0083] Step 7 - The PCF can generate an RFSP index value based on network analysis information provided by the NWDAF and transmit it to the AMF. Based on the terminal's service usage information transmitted by the NWDAF, the PCF can use it to determine whether the terminal can use the service smoothly in a specific wireless access technology or frequency band, or to determine whether there is a degradation in service quality that may occur if the RFSP value of a specific terminal is changed.
[0084] Step 8 - The AMF can store the received RFSP index value in the terminal context and transmit it to the RAN, etc.

[0091] Disclosures related to Table 5 are illustrated in FIG. 5. FIG. 5 illustrates a procedure in which the NWDAF provides analysis information related to regional wireless access technologies and frequency bands. In the first embodiment described above, the information used to generate this analysis information may be limited to the information in Tables 1 and 2.
[0092] Step 1 - The User (Consumer) may request network analysis information regarding wireless access technologies and frequencies for specific regions through a message provided by NWDAF. The message may be Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe. In this case, time-related information may be additionally transmitted to the filter information intended to limit the information used by the terminal within a specific period or at a specific future point in time. Additionally, if only analysis information regarding a specific RAT or frequency band is required, the filter may include the specific RAT or frequency band. If the information is required only once during this process, Nnwdaf_AnalyticInfo_Request may be used instead of Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe.
[0093] Step 2 - NWDAF can collect necessary information to provide network analysis information regarding requested regional wireless access technologies and frequencies, and generate analysis information through this. At this time, if terminal-related information is already being collected, the process of collecting network information may be omitted.
[0094] Step 3 - NWDAF delivers the generated analysis information to the requesting user. If a subscription was made in Step 1, the analysis information can be delivered whenever the conditions for delivering a notification are met. If analysis information is requested as a one-time request using AnalyticInfo_Request, the process can be terminated after sending a notification related to the analysis information once.
[0096] [5th Embodiment] - Method for utilizing network analysis information on regional wireless access technology and frequency band usage in PCF
[0097] The present disclosure may include a method in which, in the fourth embodiment described above, the PCF changes the RFSP index value by utilizing analysis information regarding local wireless access technology and frequency band usage information of the NWDAF.
[0098] Step 0 - The AMF may use AM_PolicyControl related services to exchange AM-related policy information with the PCF. In this case, the relationship between the AMF and the PCF does not distinguish between a specific terminal that has initially registered and a terminal that is already registered.
[0099] Step 1 - The PCF may recognize that it needs to change the RFSP index values of the terminals it manages. This recognition of change may be based on the PCF's internal policy, the operator's policy, or a policy received from the OSS / BSS. Although making such a decision is outside the scope of the present invention, the purpose of the policy regarding the change of RFSP index values may be to achieve objectives from various operational perspectives, such as saving energy of the terminal, saving energy of the base station, maximizing the terminal's quality of service, maximizing the terminal's mobility, and minimizing the terminal's local time. In this case, the PCF may decide to utilize the NWDAF's regional radio access technology and frequency band usage analysis information to achieve these objectives.
[0100] Step 2 - The PCF may request network analysis information regarding wireless access technologies and frequencies specific to a particular region through a message provided by the NWDAF. The message may be Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe. In this case, time-related information may be additionally transmitted to the filter information to limit the information used by the terminal within a specific interval or at a specific future point in time. Additionally, if only analysis information for a specific RAT or frequency band is required, the filter may include the specific RAT or frequency band. If the information is required only once during this process, Nnwdaf_AnalyticInfo_Request may be used instead of Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe.
[0101] Step 3 - NWDAF can collect necessary information to provide network analysis information regarding requested regional wireless access technologies and frequencies, and generate analysis information through this. At this time, if terminal-related information is already being collected, the process of collecting network information may be omitted.
[0102] Step 4 - NWDAF can deliver the generated analysis information to the requesting PCF. If a subscription was made in Step 1, the analysis information can be delivered whenever the conditions for delivering a notification are met. If analysis information is requested as a one-time request using AnalyticInfo_Request, the process can be terminated after sending a notification related to the analysis information once.
[0103] Step 5 - The PCF may select the most optimized RFSP index value for a specific terminal to achieve its operational objectives. For example, if most service users do not require a high level of network bandwidth, the terminal's RFSP index value may be changed to encourage the use of E-UTRA, thereby inducing a reduction in NR users. Similarly, if a terminal using the high frequency band (mmWave) can be supported by the low frequency band or another RAT, the RFSP index value may be changed to encourage a transition to a different radio access technology or frequency band. The PCF may transmit the newly calculated RFSP index value for each terminal to the AMF supporting that terminal.
[0104] Step 6 - The AMF stores the newly received RFSP index value in the terminal context and can transmit the value to the RAN, etc. according to the procedure.
[0106] [6th Embodiment] - Method for utilizing network analysis information on regional wireless access technology and frequency band usage in OAM
[0107] The present disclosure may include a method for an OAM to manage a specific base station or wireless resource by utilizing wireless access technology and frequency band usage information provided by an NWDAF. The OAM may be responsible for managing and configuring network infrastructure, base stations, and core network equipment. Representative functions managed by the OAM in relation to a base station include power management, frequency management, mode changes, and management of various configuration values. The present disclosure describes operations for the OAM to cut off or power on a specific base station, and for configuring in the event of interference caused by changes in the environment. A procedure for implementing the present disclosure is illustrated in FIG. 7. FIG. 7 illustrates the process of an OAM managing wireless resources by utilizing regional analysis information provided by an NWDAF.
[0109] Step 1 - OAM may decide to subscribe to analysis information regarding regional wireless access technology and frequency band usage provided by NWDAF in order to identify the usage status of wireless resources in a specific area in order to achieve the aforementioned objectives of energy saving, minimization of interference with wireless resources, and maximization of the perceived quality of service of terminals.
[0110] Step 2 - The OAM may request network analysis information regarding specific regional wireless access technologies and frequencies through messages provided by the NWDAF. The aforementioned message may be Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe. In this case, time-related information may be additionally transmitted to the filter information intended to limit the information provided regarding terminal usage within a specific period or at a specific future point in time. Additionally, if only analysis information regarding a specific RAT or frequency band is required, the filter may include the specific RAT or frequency band. If information is required only once during this process, Nnwdaf_AnalyticInfo_Request may be used instead of Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe. The OAM may configure a filter to receive notifications when the number of terminals using a specific wireless access technology or frequency band falls below a certain value or increases above a certain value.
[0111] Step 3 - NWDAF can collect necessary information to provide network analysis information regarding requested regional wireless access technologies and frequencies, and generate analysis information through this. At this time, if terminal-related information is already being collected, the process of collecting network information may be omitted.
[0112] Step 4 - NWDAF delivers the generated analytics information to the requesting OAM. If a subscription was established in Step 1, analytics information can be delivered whenever the conditions for delivering a notification are met. If analytics information was requested as a one-time request using AnalyticInfo_Request, the process can be terminated after sending a notification related to the analytics information once.
[0113] Step 5 - The OAM can determine whether the number of users of a specific radio access technology or frequency band is currently below or above a certain threshold. If future analysis information regarding the number of users is requested from the NWDAF, this information can be utilized to make additional decisions. For example, if there are currently no terminals using NR and no terminals using NR are expected within one hour, power can be saved by shutting off the power to base stations supporting NR. After making decisions regarding such base station-related configuration information, the OAM can transmit the configuration information to the RAN or take specific actions through internal methods.
[0115] [7th Embodiment] - Method for reducing base station power usage by utilizing network analysis information
[0116] The present disclosure may include a method for reducing power consumption by utilizing terminal-specific usage analysis information and wireless access technology and frequency band usage analysis information provided by NWADF to change the RFSP index values of terminals using a mobile communication network in a specific area, thereby inducing the use of a specific wireless access technology or frequency band, and cutting off the power to base stations or frequency-related devices that are no longer in use.
[0117] In the present disclosure, radio usage analysis information can be newly defined by integrating the above-described terminal-specific usage analysis information and wireless access technology and frequency band usage information. This analysis information may be provided by NWDAF, which provides information corresponding to Table 5 for a specific area and additionally provides information corresponding to Table 4 for terminals in use in that area. This analysis information may also be generated by separately requesting the two types of analysis information of the above-described embodiment.
[0118] The procedure for the present disclosure is illustrated in FIG. 8. FIG. 8 illustrates the process by which PCF and OAM utilize network analysis information from NWDAF to reduce power required for wireless resource management.
[0120] Step 0-1. The PCF and OAM can determine mobile communication network operation policies. For example, they can determine objectives such as reducing network operation power, minimizing wireless resource interference, and maximizing service quality, as well as internal policies associated with these objectives. Through this, they can internally decide to perform actions such as shutting off power to base stations that are not in use or have low usage, or changing the settings of base stations where interference may occur.
[0121] Step 0-2. The AMF may establish an association with the PCF and AM_PolicyControl to receive Access and Mobility related policies from the registries it manages.
[0122] Step 1 - The OAM may request network analysis information regarding specific regional wireless access technologies and frequencies through messages provided by the NWDAF. The message may be Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe. In this case, time-related information may be additionally transmitted to the filter information intended to limit the information provided regarding terminal usage within a specific period or at a specific future point in time. Additionally, if only analysis information regarding a specific RAT or frequency band is required, the filter may include that specific RAT or frequency band. If information is required only once during this process, Nnwdaf_AnalyticInfo_Request may be used instead of Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe. The OAM may configure a filter to receive notification when the number of terminals using a specific wireless access technology or frequency band falls below a certain value or increases above a certain value.
[0123] Step 2 - The PCF may request network analysis information related to wireless usage by specific region through a message provided by the NWDAF. The message may be Nnwadf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe. In this case, time-related information may be additionally transmitted to the filter information intended to limit and provide information used by the terminal at a specific interval or a specific future point in time. Additionally, if only analysis information for a specific RAT or a specific frequency band is required, the filter may include the specific RAT or frequency band. If information is required only once during this process, Nnwdaf_AnalyticsSubscription_subscribe may be replaced with Nnwdaf_AnalyticInfo_Request. In this case, the requested analysis information may be the aforementioned radio usage analysis information, or terminal-specific usage analysis information included in the above-described embodiment, or regional wireless access technology and frequency band usage information may be requested separately.
[0124] Step 3 - NWDAF collects necessary information to provide the requested network analysis information and can generate analysis information based on this. At this time, if terminal-related information is already being collected, the process of collecting network information may be omitted. The generated analysis information can be transmitted to PCF.
[0125] Step 4 - The PCF may determine the RFSP index values of each terminal based on internal policies. At this time, it may change wireless access technologies or frequency bands with few users to ensure that there are no users of a specific technology or frequency band. Conversely, if the movement of terminals requiring a specific service level or the use of a service is anticipated, it may also be possible to guide the terminals to a wireless access technology or frequency band capable of providing that quality. The determined RFSP index values may be transmitted to the AMF.
[0126] Step 5 - The AMF, having received the RSFP index value of the new terminal from the PCF, can update the value and pass it to necessary entities such as the RAN.
[0127] Step 6 - The RAN can guide the terminal to a specific radio access technology or frequency band by referring to the terminal's RFSP index value.
[0128] Step 7 - The user may change to a specific wireless access technology or frequency band in accordance with the PCF guidelines, and this condition satisfies the conditions set by the OAM.
[0129] Step 8 - NWDAF delivers the generated analytics information to the requesting OAM. If a subscription was established in Step 1, analytics information can be delivered whenever the conditions for delivering a notification are met. If analytics information was requested as a one-time request using AnalyticInfo_Request, the process can be terminated after sending a notification related to the analytics information once.
[0130] Step 9 - OAM may cut off power to a specific base station or change the settings of wireless resources by referring to the usage status of each wireless access base or frequency band.
[0132] Figure 8 is illustrated to describe the reduction of power used in base stations, but operations such as turning on base stations that support specific wireless technologies or allocating new wireless resources can also be applied by changing the order of the above, depending on the increase in the number of terminals or service requirements.
