Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to an electronic terminal device that supports voice recognition-based slide movement when executing a slide show for a presentation document, and a method of operation thereof. Background Technology

[0002] Recently, with the widespread adoption of computers, smartphones, and tablet PCs, various types of electronic document-related programs are being released that enable users to view, create, and edit electronic documents using these electronic terminal devices.

[0003] These electronic document-related programs include word processors that support the creation and editing of basic documents, spreadsheets that assist with data input, arithmetic operations, and data management, and presentation programs that assist the presenter's presentation.

[0004] Among the aforementioned electronic document-related programs, the presentation program is a program that assists a user in creating a presentation document suitable for presentation on an electronic terminal device, and provides a document creation function that allows various objects such as shapes and tables to be inserted into the editing screen of the presentation document, and a slide show function that displays the completed document across the entire screen.

[0005] Typically, presenters often need to navigate between slides when performing a presentation using a slideshow. Previously, when navigating between slides during a presentation, presenters had to repeatedly press keyboard keys or click the mouse to move to the previous or next slide containing the desired content, which resulted in reduced efficiency during the presentation.

[0006] In this regard, it is necessary to introduce technology that supports users in navigating between slides more easily when performing a presentation via a slideshow.

[0007] Specifically, if a technology is introduced that allows for easy transition between slides—from a specific slide's slideshow screen to another slideshow screen—when a user inputs a specific voice command instructing a slide transition while performing a presentation involving the execution of a slideshow document, the user will be able to deliver a presentation efficiently by further increasing the audience's concentration on the presentation. [0016] FIG. 1 is a diagram illustrating the structure of an electronic terminal device that supports voice recognition-based slide movement when executing a slide show for a presentation document, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0017] Referring to FIG. 1, an electronic terminal device (110) according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a display unit (111), a search unit (112), a selection unit (113), and a switching display unit (114).

[0018] The display unit (111) displays a slideshow screen for the first slide among the plurality of slides through the display of the electronic terminal device (110) when a slideshow execution command for the presentation document is issued by the user (10) of the electronic terminal device (110) while the presentation document is open and a document file for a presentation document consisting of a plurality of slides is executed by the user (10).

[0019] For example, let us assume that a document file for a presentation document consisting of multiple slides, ‘Slide 1, Slide 2, Slide 3, ..., Slide 10’, is executed by a user (10) of an electronic terminal device (110), and that the presentation document is in an open state.

[0020] At this time, when a slide show execution command for the presentation document is applied to the electronic terminal device (110) of the present invention from the user (10), the display unit (111) can display a slide show screen for the first slide, ‘Slide 1’, among the plurality of slides, ‘Slide 1, Slide 2, Slide 3, ..., Slide 10’, through the display of the electronic terminal device (110).

[0021] The search unit (112), while the slideshow screen for the first slide is displayed, searches for a slide containing the first keyword among the plurality of slides when a pre-set first voice command instructing a slide movement is input from the user (10) through a microphone connected to the electronic terminal device (110) and a first keyword is input as voice within a pre-set waiting time.

[0022] In this regard, let us assume that, as in the example described above, a slideshow screen for the first slide, ‘Slide 1’, among the plurality of slides, ‘Slide 1, Slide 2, Slide 3, ..., Slide 10’, is displayed through the display unit (111).

[0023] At this time, if a first voice command, "slide move," instructing a slide move is input from the user (10) through a microphone connected to an electronic terminal device (110), and a first keyword, "type test," is input by voice within a preset waiting time (e.g., "2 seconds"), the search unit (112) can search for the slide containing the first keyword, "type test," among the plurality of slides, "slide 1, slide 2, slide 3, ..., slide 10."

[0024] The selection unit (113) selects one of the second slides to perform slide movement among the at least one first slide when at least one first slide is found as a result of the search of the search unit (112).

[0025] At this time, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the selection unit (113) may include a page score calculation unit (115), an object score calculation unit (116), a ranking assignment unit (117), and a selection processing unit (118).

[0026] When the search result of the search unit (112) finds at least one first slide, the page score calculation unit (115) calculates the page score for each of the at least one first slide by subtracting the page number of each slide from the total number of the plurality of slides.

[0027] For example, as in the example above, let the plurality of slides be called 'slide 1, slide 2, slide 3, ..., slide 10', and let the page numbers of each of the plurality of slides, 'slide 1, slide 2, slide 3, ..., slide 10', be '1, 2, 3, ..., 10'.

[0028] At this time, if the search result of the search unit (112) finds at least one first slide such as ‘slide 3, slide 5, slide 9’, the page score calculation unit (115) can calculate the page score for ‘slide 3’ as ‘7 points’ by subtracting the page number of ‘slide 3’, which is ‘3’, from the total number of the plurality of slides, which is ‘10’.

[0029] In this way, the page score calculation unit (115) can calculate the page score for each of ‘slide 5, slide 9’ as ‘5 points, 1 point’ and for each of ‘slide 5, slide 9’ as ‘7 points, 5 points, 1 point’.

[0030] The object score calculation unit (116) calculates an object score for each of the at least one first slide by summing the value obtained by multiplying the number of image objects existing on each slide by a preset first score, the value obtained by multiplying the number of table objects existing on each slide by a preset second score, and the value obtained by multiplying the number of chart objects existing on each slide by a preset third score.

[0031] For example, as in the example above, let's call the at least one first slide 'slide 3, slide 5, slide 9'.

[0032] At this time, if the number of image objects existing on 'Slide 3' is '0', the number of table objects is '2', and the number of chart objects is '1', and the preset first score, second score, and third score are '1 point, 2 points, and 3 points', respectively, the object score calculation unit (116) can calculate the object score for 'Slide 3' as '7 points' by adding the value '0', which is the value obtained by multiplying the number of image objects existing on 'Slide 3', '0', by the first score '1 point', the value '4', which is the value obtained by multiplying the number of table objects existing on 'Slide 3', '2', by the second score '2 points', and the value '3', which is the value obtained by multiplying the number of chart objects existing on 'Slide 3', '1', by the third score '3 points'.

[0033] In this way, the object score calculation unit (116) can calculate the object score for each slide, even for ‘slide 5, slide 9’.

[0034] The ranking assignment unit (117) assigns a ranking to each of the at least one first slide in order of highest sum of the sum of the page score and object score for each slide.

[0035] In this regard, as in the example above, let's call the at least one first slide 'slide 3, slide 5, slide 9'.

[0036] At this time, let us assume that the page scores for each of the at least one first slide, ‘slide 3, slide 5, slide 9’, calculated through the page score calculation unit (115), are ‘7 points, 5 points, 1 point’, and the object scores for each of the at least one first slide, ‘slide 3, slide 5, slide 9’, calculated through the object score calculation unit (116), are ‘7 points, 1 point, 9 points’.

[0037] Then, the ranking assignment unit (117) can assign a ranking to each of the at least one first slide, 'slide 3, slide 5, slide 9', in order of highest sum of the sum of the page score and object score for each slide.

[0038] In this regard, since the sum of the scores of each of the at least one first slide, ‘slide 3, slide 5, slide 9’, is ‘14 points, 6 points, 10 points’, the ranking assignment unit (117) can assign ranks such as ‘1st place, 3rd place, 2nd place’ to each of the at least one first slide, ‘slide 3, slide 5, slide 9’ by assigning ranks in the order of ‘slide 3, slide 9, slide 5’.

[0039] The selection processing unit (118) selects the slide with the highest rank assigned among the at least one first slide as the second slide.

[0040] In this regard, as in the example above, if a rank such as ‘1st, 3rd, and 2nd’ is assigned to each of the at least one first slide, ‘slide 3, slide 5, slide 9’ through the rank assignment unit (117), the selection processing unit (118) can select ‘slide 3’, which has the highest rank assigned among the at least one first slide, ‘slide 3, slide 5, slide 9’, as the second slide.

[0041] Thus, when the second slide is selected by the selection unit (113), the switching display unit (114) switches the slideshow screen for the first slide, which is being displayed through the display, to the slideshow screen for the second slide.

[0042] In this regard, as in the example above, when the second slide called 'Slide 3' is selected by the selection unit (113), the switching display unit (114) can switch the slideshow screen for the first slide, 'Slide 1', which is being displayed through the display, to the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3'.

[0043] For example, if the slideshow screen for the first slide, 'Slide 1', is displayed through the display as shown in reference numeral 210 of FIG. 2, the switching display unit (114) can switch the slideshow screen for the first slide, 'Slide 1', to the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3', as shown in the figure changing from reference numeral 210 to reference numeral 220 of FIG. 2.

[0044] That is, the electronic terminal device (110) of the present invention can support the user (10) to perform a presentation more effectively by enabling the user (10) to easily move between slides from a slideshow screen for a specific slide to a slideshow screen for another slide when the user (10) performs a presentation by executing a slideshow of a presentation document, simply by inputting a predetermined voice command through the microphone.

[0045] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the electronic terminal device (110) may further include a switching display processing unit (119).

[0046] When the slideshow screen for the second slide is being displayed, the switching display processing unit (119) receives a preset second voice command from the user (10) through the microphone instructing to move to the next ranking slide, selects the third slide assigned the second highest ranking among the at least one first slide, and then switches the slideshow screen for the second slide to the slideshow screen for the third slide.

[0047] In this regard, as in the example above, let us assume that the second slide is called 'Slide 3' and that ranks such as '1st, 3rd, and 2nd' are assigned to each of the at least one first slide, 'Slide 3, Slide 5, Slide 9', through the rank assignment unit (117).

[0048] At this time, when the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3', is displayed as shown in reference numeral 310 of FIG. 3, if a second voice command, 'Move to next rank slide', which instructs the user (10) to move to the next rank slide through the microphone, is input to the electronic terminal device (110) of the present invention, the switching display processing unit (119) can select 'Slide 9', which is assigned the second highest rank among the at least one first slide, 'Slide 3, Slide 5, Slide 9', as the third slide, and then switch the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3', to the slideshow screen for the third slide, 'Slide 9', as shown in the figure changing from reference numeral 310 to reference numeral 320 of FIG. 3.

[0049] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the electronic terminal device (110) may further include an emphasis processing unit (120).

[0050] When the highlighting processing unit (120) receives a preset third voice command from the user (10) via the microphone to perform highlighting while the slideshow screen for the second slide is being displayed, it creates a rectangular area with a preset size based on the center point of the area where the first keyword is located on the slideshow screen for the second slide, and then blurs the remaining area excluding the rectangular area.

[0051] In this regard, as in the example above, let's call the first keyword 'type test' and the second slide 'slide 3'.

[0052] At this time, while the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3', is being displayed through the display, if a third voice command, 'highlighting', which instructs the user (10) to perform highlighting through the microphone, is input into the electronic terminal device (110) of the present invention, the highlighting processing unit (120) can create a rectangular area having a preset size based on the center point of the area where the first keyword, 'Type Test', is located in the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3', and then blur the remaining area excluding the rectangular area.

[0053] For example, if the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3', is like the figure shown in reference numeral 410 of FIG. 4, the emphasis processing unit (120) can generate a rectangular area (411) having a preset size based on the center point of the area where the first keyword, 'Type Test', is located in the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3', like the figure shown in reference numeral 410.

[0054] Then, the emphasis processing unit (120) can blur the remaining area excluding the square area (411), as shown in the figure changing from reference numeral 410 to 420 in FIG. 4.

[0055] In this way, the highlighting processing unit (120) can perform highlighting for the first keyword by blurring the remaining area excluding the first keyword on the slideshow screen for a specific slide.

[0056] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the electronic terminal device (110) may further include an enlarged display unit (121).

[0057] When the enlargement display unit (121) receives a preset fourth voice command from the user (10) via the microphone, instructing to enlarge and display the highlighted area while the remaining area excluding the rectangular area is blurred in the slideshow screen for the second slide through the emphasis processing unit (120), the size of the rectangular area is enlarged by a preset ratio, and then the enlarged rectangular area is displayed over the upper layer of the slideshow screen for the second slide, such that the center point of the enlarged rectangular area is positioned to match the center point of the area where the first keyword is located.

[0058] In this regard, as in the example above, let's call the second slide 'slide 3' and the first keyword 'type test'.

[0059] Additionally, let us assume that through the emphasis processing unit (120), the remaining area excluding the rectangular area (411) in the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3', is blurred, as shown in the figure 420 of FIG. 4.

[0060] In this situation, if a fourth voice command, "enlarged emphasis display," which instructs the user (10) to enlarge and display the emphasis area through the microphone, is input into the electronic terminal device (110) of the present invention, the enlarged display unit (121) can enlarge the size of the rectangular area (411) by a preset ratio.

[0061] Then, the enlarged display unit (121) may display the enlarged rectangular area (511) overlaid on the upper layer of the slideshow screen for the second slide, 'Slide 3', as shown in the figure in FIG. 5, and position the center point of the enlarged rectangular area (511) so that it matches the center point of the area where the first keyword 'Type Test' is located.

[0062] FIG. 6 is a flowchart illustrating the operation method of an electronic terminal device that supports voice recognition-based slide movement when executing a slide show for a presentation document, according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0063] In step (S610), when a document file for a presentation document consisting of a plurality of slides is executed by a user of the electronic terminal device and the presentation document is open, and a slide show execution command for the presentation document is issued by the user, a slide show screen for the first slide among the plurality of slides is displayed through the display of the electronic terminal device.

[0064] In step (S620), while the slideshow screen for the first slide is displayed, a preset first voice command instructing slide movement is input by the user through a microphone connected to the electronic terminal device, and if a first keyword is input as voice within a preset waiting time, the slide containing the first keyword among the plurality of slides is searched.

[0065] In step (S630), if at least one first slide is found as a result of the search in step (S620), one of the at least one first slides is selected to perform a slide movement.

[0066] In step (S640), when the second slide is selected, the slideshow screen for the first slide displayed through the display is switched to the slideshow screen for the second slide.

[0067] At this time, according to one embodiment of the present invention, step (S630) may include: a step of calculating a page score for each of the at least one first slide by subtracting the page number of each slide from the total number of the plurality of slides when the at least one first slide is found as a result of the search of step (S620); a step of calculating an object score for each of the at least one first slide by summing the value obtained by multiplying the number of image objects existing on each slide by a preset first score, the value obtained by multiplying the number of table objects existing on each slide by a preset second score, and the value obtained by multiplying the number of chart objects existing on each slide by a preset third score for each of the at least one first slide; a step of assigning a rank to each of the at least one first slide in order of highest sum score obtained by summing the page score and object score for each slide for each of the at least one first slide; and a step of selecting the slide to which the highest rank is assigned among the at least one first slide as the second slide.

[0068] At this time, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the method of operation of the electronic terminal device may further include the step of, when a preset second voice command instructing the user to move to the next ranking slide through the microphone is input while the slideshow screen for the second slide is being displayed, selecting the third slide assigned the second highest ranking among the at least one first slide, and then switching the slideshow screen for the second slide to the slideshow screen for the third slide.

[0069] In addition, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the method of operation of the electronic terminal device may further include the step of, when a preset third voice command instructing to perform a highlighting display is input from the user through the microphone while the slideshow screen for the second slide is being displayed, creating a rectangular area having a preset size based on the center point of the area where the first keyword is located on the slideshow screen for the second slide, and then blurring the remaining area excluding the rectangular area.

[0070] At this time, according to one embodiment of the present invention, the method of operation of the electronic terminal device may further include the step of, when a preset fourth voice command instructing the user to enlarge and display an emphasis area through the microphone is input while the remaining area excluding the rectangular area is blurred in the slideshow screen for the second slide through the blur processing step, the size of the rectangular area is enlarged by a preset ratio, and then the enlarged rectangular area is displayed by overlapping it on the upper layer of the slideshow screen for the second slide, wherein the center point of the enlarged rectangular area is positioned to match the center point of the area where the first keyword is located.

[0071] Hereinafter, a method of operation of an electronic terminal device according to an embodiment of the present invention has been described with reference to FIG. 6. Here, since the method of operation of an electronic terminal device according to an embodiment of the present invention may correspond to the configuration of the operation of the electronic terminal device (110) described using FIG. 1 to 5, a more detailed description thereof will be omitted.
