Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a means of transporting pets, and more specifically, to a foldable wagon capable of self-boarding for pets, which has a low-profile structure that allows pets to climb on by themselves and can provide psychological stability and comfort to pets. Background Technology

[0003] The term "companion animal" was renamed to reflect respect for the various benefits animals provide to humans, signifying that companion animals are not mere toys. As companion animals come to hold a status as important as that of blood relatives, specialized products ranging from apartments and strollers to robots are emerging, and sales of pet supplies are steadily increasing.

[0004] In particular, pet strollers can facilitate convenient and safe transportation for both pets and their owners. However, conventional strollers require owners to hold their pets while placing them in the stroller, which can cause anxiety for the animal. Furthermore, there is the inconvenience of being unable to easily place large and heavy pets in the stroller. Additionally, existing strollers are bulky, posing difficulties in storage and transport.

[0005] Accordingly, there was a need for technological development to improve the usability of pet strollers. Prior art literature

[0036] Referring to FIGS. 1 to 4, a foldable wagon (100) capable of self-riding a pet is configured to include a main body (110), a seat (130), a handle (150), and a wheel (170).

[0037] The main body (110) is configured with a low-profile body so that a pet can climb on it by itself, and is made of a foldable frame structure that can be folded or unfolded by a hinge structure and has a variable shape. The main body (110) may be made of metal, preferably aluminum, but is not necessarily limited thereto. The main body (110) may include a seat support frame (210) and a folding frame (230).

[0038] The seat support frame (210) is combined with and supports the seat portion (130). The seat support frame (210) forms the bottom of the wagon and consists of a bottom frame (211) that supports the bottom of the seat portion (130), a top frame (213) that supports the top of the seat portion (130), and a canopy support frame (215) that supports the canopy of the seat portion (130).

[0039] The bottom frame (211) forms a square perimeter and includes a plurality of bar-shaped connecting members (211a) that are connected across the interior, thereby supporting the bottom of the seat portion (130) and preventing sagging. A space for storing a sliding board (250) may be formed in the lower part of the bottom frame (211). Here, the sliding board (250) may correspond to a step that connects the wagon and the ground and guides the pet to board the wagon on its own.

[0040] Additionally, the lower frame (211) is supported by connecting the front wheel of the wheel unit (170) to the front and connecting the rear wheel of the wheel unit (170) to the rear.

[0041] The upper frame (213) forms a rectangular perimeter that is not larger in volume than the lower frame (211) and is combined with the upper part of the seat portion (130) to support the upper part of the seat portion (130). The upper frame (213) is configured so that one side can be folded or unfolded by a hinge structure and its shape can be varied. The upper frame (213) includes hinge members (213a) symmetrically on the left and right sides of the rectangular perimeter. The upper frame (213) can be folded and unfolded by rotating one side of the frame portion relative to the hinge members (213a). The upper frame (213) has hinge members (213a) formed symmetrically on the rear side, so that the rear frame portion can be folded into the lower frame (211) relative to the hinge members (213a), thereby lowering the height of the rear frame portion and simultaneously opening the internal space. That is, the upper frame (213) can form a boarding opening through the hinge member (213a) to maintain the height of the front part and lower the height of the rear part so that the pet can board the wagon on its own.

[0042] Support legs (217) of a folding structure are installed on the left and right sides of the lower frame (211) and the upper frame (213) to expand or contract the folding structure, thereby allowing the gap (height) between the lower frame (211) and the upper frame (213) to be adjusted. Here, the support legs (217) can be folded or unfolded by a hinge structure in which a first leg member (217a) and a second leg member (217b) are hinge-connected. One end of the first leg member (217a) is fixedly supported on the left and right sides of the lower frame (211), and one end of the second leg member (217b) is fixedly supported on the left and right sides of the upper frame. The other ends of the first and second leg members (217a, 217b) are connected to each other through a hinge axis to rotate and be fixed.

[0043] The canopy support frame (215) may be formed across the center of both the left and right sides of the upper frame (213) at a certain height and may be composed of a pair of frame members so as to be gathered or spread out toward the center of both the front and rear sides through a hinge member (215a). The hinge member (215a) is included in the center of both the left and right sides of the upper frame (213). The canopy support frame (215) may include canopy rib members (215b) located in the space between the upper frame (213) to reinforce support for the canopy and prevent sagging. The canopy rib members (215b) have their ends connected to the hinge members (215a) included in the center of both the left and right sides of the upper frame (213), and can be folded forward or backward along the canopy support frame (215) to partially or completely open or close the interior.

[0044] A locking member (215c) is attached to one of the pair of frame members of the canopy support frame (215) and locks the canopy through a locking connection to the other frame member, thereby completely sealing the internal space.

[0045] The folding frame (230) is connected to and supported on both the left and right sides of the seat support frame (210), and includes a first folding member (231) with a straight side and a second folding member (233) with a curved side.

[0046] One side of the first folding member (231) is hinged to the left and right inner sides of the front part of the lower frame (211), respectively, and the other side is hinged to one side of the handle part (150).

[0047] One side of the second folding member (233) is hinged to the left and right outer sides of the rear portion of the lower frame (211), and the other side is hinged to the outer side of the handle portion (150) at a position lower than the other side of the first folding member (231).

[0048] Here, the first folding member (231) and the second folding member (233) do not interfere with each other during the folding process, and the first folding member (231) is positioned at the bottom and the second folding member (233) is positioned on the outside with respect to the bottom frame (211).

[0049] The folding frame (230) may further include a fastening member that securely fastens the first folding member (231) and the handle part (150) so that the folding wagon (100) can be fixed without being arbitrarily released when the folding wagon (100) is in a folded state.

[0050] The seat portion (130) has a rectangular perimeter and is in the shape of a frame with a seat formed on the perimeter surface and the bottom surface. It is connected to the seat support frame (210) to form an internal space where a pet can ride or carry luggage, and serves to protect the pet from the external environment. The seat portion (130) may be made of fabric material, but is not limited thereto. The seat portion (130) may have a zipper attached so that it can be connected and fixed to the seat support frame (210) by the zipper, and can be easily detached and washed.

[0051] Additionally, the seat portion (130) may include a ventilation portion (131) on the front or back side. The ventilation portion (131) may be formed in an elliptical shape on the front or back side of the seat portion (130) and may be formed in a mesh shape to provide ventilation functionality inside the wagon. A zipper (133) may be attached to the ventilation portion (131) so that the interior can be opened through the zipper (133) and utilized as a boarding passage for a pet.

[0052] Additionally, a canopy (135) is attached to the upper part of the seat portion (130). The canopy (135) is attached to the upper side of the seat portion (130) and serves to protect the pet riding in the wagon from external environments such as sunlight, rain, and wind. The canopy (135) is attached to the canopy support frame (215) and is a rectangular dome structure having the same shape as the perimeter of the upper frame (213). It is formed to be zipper-connected to the seat portion (130) along the perimeter, and a ventilation fabric is formed on the front and back sides with a mesh structure for ventilation. The canopy (135) is zipper-connected to each frame of the canopy support frame (215) and the canopy rib member (215b), and can be opened and closed 90° in both directions along the canopy support frame (215) to open a total of 180°.

[0053] The handle part (150) is composed of a handle link frame (151) and a handle (153).

[0054] The handle link frame (151) is symmetrically parallel to the left and right and is connected to one side of the folding frame (230). It is a frame with a rear end connected to the handle (153) that supports the rear left and right sides of the seat support frame (210) and is configured to be folded or unfolded by a hinge structure, allowing its shape to be varied. One end of the handle link frame (151) is connected to the folding frame (230) and the other end is connected to the handle (153), so that the height of the handle (153) is adjusted. The handle link frame (151) is configured with a telescopic structure, allowing the handle (153) to be raised or lowered through the expansion or contraction of the telescopic structure. The handle link frame (151) serves to support the seat support frame (210), the folding frame (230), and the handle (153) when the wagon is in use or loaded.

[0055] The handle (153) can be formed in a shape that is easy for the user to grip.

[0056] The wheel assembly (170) is attached to the lower front and rear portions of the seat support frame (210) and serves to move the foldable wagon (100). The wheel assembly (170) consists of a front wheel (171) and a rear wheel (173).

[0057] The front wheels (171) are each symmetrically connected to the front lower part of the lower frame (211) and can be fixed and rotated in a horizontal direction in the shape of a sliding bar, and support the front lower part of the wagon and rotate and stop.

[0058] The rear wheels (173) are symmetrically connected to the left and right ends based on a frame connecting the left and right sides to the rear bottom of the lower frame (211), supporting the rear bottom of the wagon and allowing it to rotate and stop. A brake bar (310) is connected to the rear wheels (173) so that the wagon can be braked quickly and safely even in emergency situations.

[0060] FIG. 5 is a drawing for explaining the operation of self-boarding a pet in a foldable wagon according to an embodiment of the present invention, wherein (a) schematically illustrates the state of self-boarding of a pet and (b) illustrates an actual example.

[0061] Referring to FIG. 5 (a) and (b), the foldable wagon (100) capable of self-boarding a pet is implemented with a low-profile structure that is lower in height than a conventional pet stroller, so that the pet can climb on by itself without being held or carried, thereby providing the pet with a sense of psychological stability and comfort. The foldable wagon (100) is implemented with a low-profile structure in which the lower frame (211) is formed at a lower height than a conventional pet stroller. Additionally, the foldable wagon (100) is implemented with a foldable structure in which one side is folded based on the hinge member (213a) formed on the upper frame (213), thereby opening the boarding space to a height at which the pet can climb on by itself. Furthermore, the foldable wagon (100) can be connected to the ground by pulling out a sliding board (250) stored in the lower part of the lower frame (211), so that the pet can use the sliding board (250) as a footrest.

[0062] After attaching the seat portion (130) to the wagon body portion (110), a pet is placed inside. At this time, the rear side of the upper frame (213) of the seat support frame (210) that supports the seat portion (130) of the foldable wagon (100) is lowered via a hinge member (213a), and accordingly, the rear part of the wagon is opened. The pet can board the wagon on its own through the opened rear part of the wagon. In cases where the pet has short legs, a sliding board (250) can be used to assist with self-boarding. One side of the sliding board (250) is fixed to the lower part of the lower frame (211), and the other side touches the ground, connecting the bottom of the wagon to the ground. The pet can step on the sliding board (250) and easily board the wagon through the opened rear part of the wagon. The pet can also get out of the wagon on its own.

[0064] FIG. 6 is a drawing for explaining the opening and closing operation of a canopy of a foldable wagon according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0065] Referring to FIG. 6, a dome-shaped canopy (135) is fixedly supported on the top of the wagon through a canopy support frame (215) of the foldable wagon (100). The canopy (135) can be opened and closed in both directions from the center of the wagon via a hinge member (215a), as shown in FIG. 6 (a), as well as opened and closed on only one side. Additionally, the canopy (135) can be completely sealed, as shown in FIG. 6 (b). A locking member (215c) is located in the middle of the canopy (135) to secure the sealed state. Here, the locking member (215c) can be implemented as a buckle structure. As illustrated in FIG. 6(c), the locking member (215c) may be configured to include a hollow tube formed in a tubular shape by being bent to wrap around the other frame inside the buckle body of a buckle fixed in the middle of one of the pair of canopy support frames (215).

[0066] The canopy (135) can be optionally installed on the top of the seat portion (130) as needed, and the top of the wagon can be opened up to 90° in one direction or 180° in both directions to open it, or it can be completely sealed. At this time, a pair of canopy support frames (215) can be joined together through a locking member (215c) to easily secure the sealed state.

[0068] FIG. 7 is a drawing for explaining the folding operation of a foldable wagon according to an embodiment of the present invention, wherein (a) shows a state with wheels and (b) shows a state with wheels removed.

[0069] Referring to FIG. 7, the foldable wagon (100) expands the gap (height) between the lower frame (211) and the upper frame (213) by implementing a support leg (217) in a foldable structure between the lower frame (211) and the upper frame (213) of the seat support frame (210). The upper frame (213) is formed with a slightly smaller volume than the lower frame (211), so that a step difference is created when the lower frame (211) and the upper frame (213) are folded.

[0070] One side of the first folding member (231) and the second folding member (233) are separated and connected to the left and right inner and outer sides of the lower frame (211) respectively by a hinge structure, and the other side is separated and connected to the left and right side and outer sides of the handle link frame (151) respectively by a hinge structure. By rotating the hinges, the first folding member (231) is positioned at the bottom and the second folding member (233) is positioned at the outside of the handle link frame (151) in the step created between the lower frame (211) and the upper frame (213) by hinge rotation, so that the first folding member (231) is positioned at the bottom and the second folding member (233) is positioned at the outside, overlapping each other. Accordingly, the folding wagon (100) can minimize protrusion to the outside of the lower frame (211) in the folded state.

[0071] The foldable wagon (100) is secured in a folded state through a fastening member (710). As illustrated in enlarged view (a) of FIG. 7, the fastening member (710) consists of a fastening ring (711) protruding from the middle of the handle link frame (151) and a fastening groove (713) formed at the position of the first folding member (231) corresponding to the fastening ring (711) of the handle link frame (151). The fastening member (710) secures the folded state by hooking the fastening ring (711) into the fastening groove (713) in the “A” direction while the handle link frame (151) and the first folding member (231) are folded. In the secured state, if the fastening groove (711) is pushed in the “B” direction, the fastening ring (711) is disengaged and released.

[0072] When loading the foldable wagon (100), the seat portion (130) is detached and the main body portion (110) is folded together with the handle portion (150) to minimize the volume for storage and portability. At this time, the volume can be further minimized by detaching the wheel portion (170) as shown in FIG. 7 (b).

[0074] A foldable wagon capable of self-boarding by a pet according to one embodiment has a low-profile structure that allows the pet to board on its own, thereby providing the pet with a sense of psychological stability and comfort. Additionally, since both the main body and the handle are structured to be foldable, the overall volume can be reduced, which can increase efficiency during loading, transport, and storage.

[0076] Although the present invention has been described above with reference to preferred embodiments, those skilled in the art will understand that various modifications and changes can be made to the invention without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as described in the following claims.
