Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for automatically evaluating the CAN communication function of an ECU for vehicles. Background Technology

[0002] Generally, vehicles contain multiple Electronic Control Units (ECUs), and each ECU controls its corresponding function.

[0003] At this time, each electronic control unit (ECU) communicates with each other using a designated communication method (e.g., CAN communication method) or controls the driving device of the corresponding function using a designated communication method (e.g., CAN communication method).

[0004] Therefore, each electronic control unit (ECU) must always have a designated communication function (e.g., CAN communication function) operating normally.

[0005] Accordingly, the manufacturer evaluates whether the communication function of each electronic control unit (ECU) operates normally by the power supplied in the corresponding key switching state according to the key switching of the vehicle key box (e.g., LOCK, ACC, ON, START).

[0006] At this time, there are dozens of communication functions (e.g., CAN communication functions) that need to be evaluated for each electronic control unit (ECU), and if these are evaluated (tested) manually, not only is a lot of time and cost required, but there is also a problem of numerous human errors occurring due to environmental configuration and test deviations depending on the tester.

[0007] Therefore, there is a need for a device that can automatically evaluate (test) dozens of communication functions (e.g., CAN communication functions) that need to be evaluated for each electronic control unit (ECU).

[0008] The background technology of the present invention is disclosed in Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2004-0102802 (published Dec. 08, 2004, Vehicle Evaluation Device). The problem to be solved

[0009] The present invention aims to solve the above-mentioned problems and provides an automatic evaluation device and method for CAN communication functions of a vehicle ECU that can automatically evaluate (test) dozens of communication functions (e.g., CAN communication functions) that need to be evaluated for each electronic control unit (ECU). means of solving the problem

[0014] In the present invention, the processor is characterized by applying power specified according to the test evaluation environment setting item to the vehicle ECU for the test evaluation of the CAN communication function, transmitting a normal signal or an abnormal signal specified according to the test evaluation environment setting item to the vehicle ECU, and then analyzing whether a response CAN signal, which is a response signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU to the processor in response thereto, is normal or abnormal.

[0015] In the present invention, the processor is characterized by converting a response CAN signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU through a CAN interface module into an analyzable form in order to analyze whether the response signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU is normal or abnormal.

[0016] In the present invention, the processor is characterized by automatically generating a test evaluation result report based on the result of analyzing a response CAN signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU to the processor according to the test evaluation environment setting item.

[0017] A method for automatically evaluating a CAN communication function of a vehicle ECU according to another aspect of the present invention comprises: a step in which a processor automatically performs a test evaluation of a CAN communication function for a vehicle ECU subject to test evaluation according to a designated test evaluation environment setting item; a step in which, for the test evaluation of the CAN communication function, the level and waveform of a CAN signal transmitted by the processor to the vehicle ECU is monitored through a CAN scope module; and a step in which, for the test evaluation of the CAN communication function, the level and waveform of a CAN signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU to the processor is monitored through a CAN scope module.

[0018] The present invention is characterized by further including the step of the processor applying power designated to the vehicle ECU through a power distribution module according to the test evaluation environment setting item.

[0019] In the present invention, the power supplied through the power distribution module is characterized as being a power corresponding to the power supplied in the corresponding key switching state according to the key switching of the vehicle key box.

[0020] In the present invention, according to the test evaluation environment setting item, the processor transmits a normal signal to the vehicle ECU or transmits an abnormal signal containing noise to the vehicle ECU through a CAN stress module for the test evaluation of the CAN communication function.

[0021] In the present invention, for the test evaluation of the CAN communication function, the processor applies power specified according to the test evaluation environment setting item to the vehicle ECU, transmits a normal signal or an abnormal signal specified according to the test evaluation environment setting item to the vehicle ECU, and then analyzes whether the response CAN signal, which is a response signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU to the processor in response thereto, is normal or abnormal.

[0026] Hereinafter, an embodiment according to the present invention will be described with reference to the attached drawings.

[0027] In this process, the thickness of lines or the size of components depicted in the drawings may be exaggerated for the sake of clarity and convenience of explanation. Furthermore, the terms described below are defined considering their functions in the present invention, and these may vary depending on the intent or convention of the user or operator. Therefore, the definitions of these terms should be based on the content throughout this specification.

[0028] FIG. 1 is an exemplary diagram showing the schematic configuration of an automatic CAN communication function evaluation device for a vehicle ECU according to one embodiment of the present invention.

[0029] As illustrated in FIG. 1, the automatic evaluation device for the CAN communication function of a vehicle ECU according to the present embodiment may include a CAN scope module (120), a processor (130), a CAN stress module (140), a CAN interface module (150), and a power distribution module (160).

[0030] The automatic evaluation device for the CAN communication function of a vehicle ECU according to the present embodiment can test evaluate at least one vehicle ECU (110) that is the subject of the test evaluation.

[0031] At this time, a number of vehicle ECUs (110) that are subject to test evaluation may receive power specified according to the test evaluation environment setting item through a bus switch and a power distribution module (160), and may each receive or transmit a signal specified according to the test evaluation environment setting item (e.g., a normal signal or an abnormal signal) and receive a corresponding response signal.

[0032] The CAN scope module (120) can monitor the level and waveform of the signal that the processor (130) transmits to the vehicle ECU (110) that is the subject of the test evaluation.

[0033] Additionally, the CAN scope module (120) can monitor the level and waveform of the signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU (110) to the processor (130).

[0034] The processor (130) includes a processing device including a computer, a microprocessor, an integrated circuit, or a programmable logic device.

[0035] The processor (130) automatically performs a test evaluation on a vehicle ECU (110) that is the subject of the test evaluation, according to a pre-specified test evaluation environment setting item (see FIG. 4).

[0036] For example, the processor (130) can set test evaluation environment setting items by receiving selections from the user for items related to the Physical Layer (e.g., 15 items), items related to the Data Link Layer (e.g., 13 items), items related to the Interaction Layer (e.g., 21 items), items related to Network Management (e.g., 51 items), items related to Diagnostic Reprogramming (e.g., 8 items), and items related to Function Safety (e.g., 4 items). At this time, the above test evaluation environment setting items are exemplary and are not intended to be limited.

[0037] The processor (130) controls the power distribution module (160) according to the pre-specified test evaluation environment setting item to apply the specified power (e.g., power supplied in the corresponding key switching state according to the key switching of the vehicle key box) to the vehicle ECU (110) that is the subject of the test evaluation.

[0038] The processor (130) can transmit a normal signal to the vehicle ECU (110) that is the subject of the test evaluation, according to a pre-specified test evaluation environment setting item, or transmit an abnormal signal containing noise to the vehicle ECU (110) that is the subject of the test evaluation through a CAN stress module (140).

[0039] The processor (130) applies power specified according to the test evaluation environment setting item for the vehicle ECU (110) that is the subject of the test evaluation, transmits a normal signal or an abnormal signal specified according to the test evaluation environment setting item, and then analyzes whether the response signal (i.e., the response CAN signal) transmitted by the vehicle ECU (110) in response to this is normal or abnormal.

[0040] For example, the processor (130) can check logging data, scope measurement data, and test case execution process records to analyze whether the response signal (i.e., response CAN signal) transmitted from the vehicle ECU (110) is normal or abnormal.

[0041] The processor (130) converts the response signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU (110) (i.e., the response CAN signal) through the CAN interface module (150) into an analyzable form (e.g., ASCII code form, etc.) in order to analyze whether the response signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU (110) is normal or abnormal.

[0042] The processor (130) can automatically generate a result report based on the results of analyzing a response signal (i.e., a response CAN signal) transmitted from a vehicle ECU (110) according to the test evaluation environment setting item (see FIG. 6).

[0043] For example, the processor (130) may include test evaluation judgment results, test evaluation judgment conditions, test case (TC) execution process, raw data, and comments on pass / fail / warning in the result report.

[0044] FIG. 2 is an example diagram showing a rack-type (or stand-type) implementation of an automatic evaluation device for the CAN communication function of a vehicle ECU according to the present embodiment in FIG. 1.

[0045] FIG. 3 is a flowchart illustrating a method for automatically evaluating a CAN communication function of a vehicle ECU according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 4 is an example diagram showing a user interface screen for receiving a selection of a test evaluation environment setting item for the CAN communication function of the ECU from a user in FIG. 3, FIG. 5 is an example diagram showing a selection list screen of a test evaluation environment setting item for the CAN communication function of the ECU set through the user interface screen in FIG. 3, FIG. 6 is an example diagram showing a test evaluation result report screen for the CAN communication function of the ECU in FIG. 3.

[0046] At this time, it should be noted that Figures 4 to 6 are examples showing a general display form of the screen and do not illustrate detailed items.

[0047] Referring to FIG. 3, the processor (130) performs a test evaluation environment setting for each vehicle ECU (110) that is the subject of the test evaluation from the user through a user interface screen (S101).

[0048] For example, the processor (130) can set test evaluation environment setting items by receiving selections from the user for items related to the Physical Layer (e.g., 15 items), items related to the Data Link Layer (e.g., 13 items), items related to the Interaction Layer (e.g., 21 items), items related to Network Management (e.g., 51 items), items related to Diagnostic Reprogramming (e.g., 8 items), and items related to Function Safety (e.g., 4 items). At this time, the above test evaluation environment setting items are exemplary and are not intended to be limited.

[0049] The processor (130) controls the power distribution module (160) according to the test evaluation environment setting item for each vehicle ECU (110) set by the user through the user interface screen (see FIG. 4 and FIG. 5), applies a designated power (e.g., power supplied in the corresponding key switching state according to the key switching of the vehicle key box) to each vehicle ECU (110), and also transmits a designated signal (e.g., normal signal, abnormal signal) to perform a test evaluation for each vehicle ECU (110) (S102).

[0050] The processor (130) applies a specified power according to the test evaluation environment setting item for each vehicle ECU (110), transmits a specified signal (e.g., normal signal, abnormal signal), and then analyzes whether the response signal (i.e., response CAN signal) transmitted by the vehicle ECU (110) in response to this is normal or abnormal (S103).

[0051] For example, the processor (130) can analyze logging data, scope measurement data, and test case execution process records, etc., to analyze whether the response signal (i.e., response CAN signal) transmitted from the vehicle ECU (110) is normal or abnormal.

[0052] At this time, the processor (130) can convert the response signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU (110) (i.e., the response CAN signal) through the CAN interface module (150) into an analyzable form (e.g., ASCII code form, etc.) in order to analyze whether the response signal transmitted from the vehicle ECU (110) is normal or abnormal.

[0053] The processor (130) can automatically generate a result report based on the results of analyzing a response signal (i.e., a response CAN signal) transmitted from a vehicle ECU (110) according to the test evaluation environment setting item (see FIG. 6) (S104).

[0054] For example, the processor (130) may include test evaluation judgment results, test evaluation judgment conditions, test case (TC) execution process, raw data, and comments on pass / fail / warning in the result report.

[0055] As described above, the present invention has the effect of improving evaluation stability and work efficiency by enabling automatic evaluation (testing) of dozens of communication functions (e.g., CAN communication functions) that need to be evaluated for each electronic control unit (ECU).
