Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for estimating product volume using agricultural product sales data, and more specifically, to an apparatus and method for estimating the volume of a product group for which volume information does not exist by combining product sales data and product master data, and using a standard unit price per reference unit and a representative unit price per analysis unit calculated from a product group for which volume information exists. Background Technology
[0002] Recently, the distribution industry has seen an increasing use of product sales data for purposes such as analyzing sales trends, managing inventory, forecasting demand, and establishing pricing policies. Furthermore, attempts are being made to analyze sales and distribution trends by product in greater detail by utilizing standard product information—such as product names, specifications, unit sizes, and quantities—in conjunction with sales data.
[0003] However, for example, even if products such as agricultural products belong to the same category, there may be various specifications, weights, packaging units, or sales units; therefore, it is sometimes difficult to accurately calculate the actual quantity of products sold based solely on the sales quantities included in the product sales data. Furthermore, not all product quantity information is included in the standard information regarding products, and there are cases where quantity information is omitted or managed inconsistently. Consequently, for products for which quantity information does not exist, workers must estimate the quantity by verifying product names or specification information or manually matching similar products, which consumes a significant amount of time and manpower and presents a problem in that it is difficult to apply this uniformly to a large volume of product sales data. [0018] Hereinafter, an apparatus and method for estimating product volume using product sales data according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.
[0019] FIG. 1 is a configuration diagram of a product quantity estimation device using product sales data according to one embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a flowchart of a product quantity estimation method using product sales data according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0020] Referring to FIG. 1, a product quantity estimation device (100) using product sales data according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a data combining unit (110), a product group classification unit (120), a unit price calculation unit (130), a quantity estimation unit (140), etc.
[0021] The data combining unit (110) combines sales data for a product and reference information regarding a product based on a product identifier to generate combined data including the sales quantity and sales amount of the product (see step S210 of FIG. 2).
[0022] In the present invention, a product may refer to a product in a sales unit identified by a product identifier, and may include, for example, agricultural products, livestock products, fishery products, processed foods, household goods, manufactured goods, etc. In addition, even if they belong to the same item, they may be classified as different products if their specifications, weight, packaging unit, or sales unit differs. For example, if the product is an agricultural product, even if the same item is an apple, a 1kg packaged product, a 3kg packaged product, and a 5kg boxed product may be classified as different products.
[0023] Here, sales data for a product may refer to data regarding the sales history or transaction history of the product. For example, sales data for a product may include POS (Point of Sale) sales data, online sales data, distributor sales data, store sales data, etc. Additionally, sales data for a product may include information regarding product identifiers, sales quantity, sales amount, sales date, sales store, distribution channel, distributor, etc. However, it is not limited thereto, and sales data for a product may include various forms of data representing the sales results of the product.
[0024] Standard information regarding a product may refer to product-related information that can be used for product identification or quantity calculation. For example, standard information regarding a product may include product name, item, specification information, unit information, quantity information, etc. Here, quantity information may include information regarding the weight, capacity, number, packaging unit, sales unit, etc. of the product.
[0025] A product identifier may refer to identification information used to correlate sales data and standard information regarding a product. For example, a product identifier may include barcodes, product codes, SKUs (Stock Keeping Units), internal management codes, distributor-specific product codes, etc.
[0026] The data combining unit (110) can generate combined data by matching sales data for a product with data having corresponding product identifiers among standard information regarding the product. Accordingly, the combined data may include sales quantity and sales amount per product, and if quantity information exists in the standard information regarding the product, it may further include quantity information of the product.
[0027] Meanwhile, the product group classification unit (120) classifies each product into a first product group or a second product group depending on whether quantity information for each product included in the combined data is included (see step S220 of FIG. 2).
[0028] Specifically, the product group classification unit (120) may classify products included in the combined data that include quantity information into a first product group and products that do not include quantity information into a second product group. Here, the first product group may refer to a product group for which the actual quantity can be calculated based on sales quantity and quantity information, and the second product group may refer to a product group for which it is difficult to calculate the actual quantity based only on sales quantity because quantity information is not included.
[0029] For example, if the combined data includes sales quantity, sales amount, and quantity information of a specific product, the product group classification unit (120) can classify the product as a first product group. On the other hand, if the combined data includes sales quantity and sales amount of a specific product but does not include quantity information of the product, the product group classification unit (120) can classify the product as a second product group.
[0030] Accordingly, the product quantity estimation device (100) can obtain data that serves as a standard for calculating unit prices by using products of a first product group that include quantity information, and for products of a second product group that do not include quantity information, it can calculate the estimated quantity using the representative unit price per analysis unit described later. Here, for products that do not include quantity information, the estimated quantity may refer to the sales quantity estimated based on the sales amount of the product and the representative unit price per analysis unit corresponding to the analysis unit to which the product belongs.
[0031] Meanwhile, the unit price calculation unit (130) calculates a standard unit price per standard unit based on the sales quantity, sales amount, and volume information of each product included in the first product group (see step S230 of FIG. 2). Here, the standard unit may be a unit set for comparing unit prices between products, and may be set, for example, as a weight standard unit, a capacity standard unit, a quantity standard unit, etc. For convenience of explanation, the following description focuses on the case where the standard unit is a weight standard unit.
[0032] FIG. 3 is a flowchart of the process for calculating the standard unit price per reference unit and the representative unit price per analysis unit according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0033] Referring to FIG. 3, the unit price calculation unit (130) can calculate a standard unit price per standard unit by converting the sales price of each product included in the first product group into a price per unit weight based on the weight corresponding to the sales quantity and volume information (see step S310 of FIG. 3) and converting the converted price per unit weight to correspond to a weight standard unit (see step S320 of FIG. 3).
[0034] For example, the unit price calculation unit (130) can calculate the standard unit price per standard unit according to the following formula 1.
[0035] [Formula 1]
[0036] P = A / (Q x W) x B
[0037] Here, P represents the standard unit price per standard unit, A represents the total sales amount of the product, Q represents the sales quantity of the product, W represents the weight per unit of the product confirmed by the quantity information, and B represents the weight corresponding to the standard unit. For example, if the standard unit is 100g, B may correspond to 100g.
[0038] Accordingly, the unit price calculation unit (130) can normalize the unit prices of products that differ in packaging unit, weight, sales unit, or specifications, even if they belong to the same item, into a common standard unit.
[0039] Meanwhile, the unit price calculation unit (130) can generate a distribution of standard unit prices per standard unit calculated for each product included in the first product group (see step S330 of FIG. 3). The distribution of standard unit prices per standard unit can be generated by arranging the standard unit prices per standard unit for multiple products included in the first product group in order of size or by organizing them in the form of frequency by interval.
[0040] The unit price calculation unit (130) can determine that a product satisfying a preset outlier condition is an outlier based on the distribution of the generated standard unit price per standard unit. For example, if the standard unit price per standard unit is included in the upper preset ratio or the lower preset ratio of the distribution, the unit price calculation unit (130) can determine that the product is a product satisfying the outlier condition.
[0041] In one embodiment, the unit price calculation unit (130) may determine that a product included in the top 5% or bottom 5% of the distribution of standard unit prices per standard unit is an outlier. In another embodiment, the unit price calculation unit (130) may determine that a product included in the top 2.5% or bottom 2.5% of the distribution of standard unit prices per standard unit is an outlier. However, the top and bottom ratios are not limited to this and may be set differently depending on the type of product, the number of data, the purpose of analysis, or the distribution environment.
[0042] The unit price calculation unit (130) can use the standard unit price per standard unit of the remaining products, excluding products that satisfy the outlier condition, for subsequent processing (see step S340 of FIG. 3). Accordingly, the impact of products with abnormally high or low unit prices on the calculation of representative unit prices per analysis unit can be reduced.
[0043] And, the unit price calculation unit (130) calculates a representative unit price per analysis unit based on the standard unit price per standard unit (see step S240 of FIG. 2).
[0044] Here, the analysis unit may refer to a unit established to aggregate standard unit prices per reference unit. For example, the analysis unit may be established based on items, distribution channels, periods, etc.
[0045] In one embodiment, the unit price calculation unit (130) can divide combined data into multiple analysis units based on items, distribution channels, periods, etc. (see step S350 of FIG. 3). For example, the unit price calculation unit (130) can divide products belonging to the same item, the same distribution channel, and the same period into one analysis unit.
[0046] In another embodiment, the unit price calculation unit (130) can set the analysis unit by further considering the distributor.
[0047] The unit price calculation unit (130) can calculate an average value for each of the multiple analysis units based on the standard unit price per standard unit of the first product group included in the analysis unit (see step S360 of FIG. 3). In one embodiment, the average value may be calculated by arithmetically averaging the standard unit prices per standard unit of the first product group included in the analysis unit. In another embodiment, the average value may be calculated as a weighted average based on sales quantity, sales amount, product-specific weights, etc.
[0048] Additionally, the unit price calculation unit (130) can calculate the error range for the average value based on the standard deviation of the standard unit price per standard unit of the first product group included in the analysis unit and the number of samples (see step S370 of FIG. 3). Here, the number of samples may refer to the number of products or product identifiers used to calculate the representative unit price in the analysis unit.
[0049] For example, the unit price calculation unit (130) can calculate the error range by multiplying the value obtained by dividing the standard deviation by the square root of the sample size by a preset coefficient. Here, the preset coefficient may be set according to the confidence level, for example, a coefficient corresponding to a 95% confidence level. However, the method of calculating the error range is not limited to this and may be set differently depending on the purpose of analysis, the number of data, the type of product, or the distribution environment.
[0050] The unit price calculation unit (130) can calculate the upper and lower limits of the representative unit price for each analysis unit based on the calculated average value and error range (see step S380 of FIG. 3). For example, the unit price calculation unit (130) can calculate the upper limit by adding the error range to the average value and calculate the lower limit by subtracting the error range from the average value.
[0051] Furthermore, when the unit price calculation unit (130) calculates the upper or lower limit of the representative unit price for each analysis unit, it can correct the value calculated based on the average value and the error range based on the ratio of the average price per analysis unit and the average price per standard unit for each analysis unit.
[0052] Accordingly, the representative unit price for each analysis unit may include an average value, an upper limit, and a lower limit. The average value may be used as the representative standard price per unit of the corresponding analysis unit, and the upper and lower limits may be used to calculate the range of the estimated volume described below.
[0053] Meanwhile, the quantity estimation unit (140) can calculate the estimated quantity of the product based on the sales amount of the second product group and the representative unit price per analysis unit (see step S250 of FIG. 2).
[0054] FIG. 4 is a flowchart of the process for calculating the estimated quantity and the actual quantity of goods according to an embodiment of the present invention. Referring to FIG. 4, the quantity estimation unit (140) can verify the sales amount of each product included in the second product group (see step S410 of FIG. 4). In addition, for each product included in the second product group, the quantity estimation unit (140) can verify the representative unit price per analysis unit corresponding to the analysis unit to which the product belongs (see step S420 of FIG. 4). At this time, the representative unit price per analysis unit may include the average value, upper limit value, and lower limit value calculated by the unit price calculation unit (130) described above.
[0055] The quantity estimation unit (140) can calculate the estimated quantity, the upper limit of the estimated quantity, and the lower limit of the estimated quantity of a product based on the sales amount of each product included in the second product group and the representative unit price per analysis unit corresponding to the analysis unit to which the product belongs (see step S430 of FIG. 4).
[0056] For example, the quantity estimation unit (140) can calculate the estimated quantity of goods included in the second product group according to [Equation 2] below.
[0057] [Equation 2]
[0058] M = S / R
[0059] Here, M represents the estimated quantity of the product included in the second product group, S represents the sales price of the product, and R represents the representative unit price per analysis unit corresponding to the analysis unit to which the product belongs.
[0060] In one embodiment, the volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the estimated volume of a product by dividing the sales amount of a product included in the second product group by the average value of the representative unit price per analysis unit corresponding to the analysis unit to which the product belongs.
[0061] Additionally, the volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the range of the estimated volume using the upper and lower limits of the representative unit price for each analysis unit. Specifically, the volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the upper limit of the estimated volume of a product by dividing the sales amount of a product included in the second product group by the lower limit of the representative unit price for each analysis unit corresponding to the analysis unit to which the product belongs. Additionally, the volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the lower limit of the estimated volume of a product by dividing the sales amount of a product included in the second product group by the upper limit of the representative unit price for each analysis unit corresponding to the analysis unit to which the product belongs.
[0062] That is, for the same sales amount, the lower the representative unit price applied, the larger the output volume, and the higher the representative unit price applied, the smaller the output volume. Accordingly, the volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the upper limit of the estimated volume using the lower limit of the representative unit price for each analysis unit, and calculate the lower limit of the estimated volume using the upper limit of the representative unit price for each analysis unit.
[0063] Meanwhile, in another embodiment, when the volume estimation unit (140) calculates the estimated volume upper limit and the estimated volume lower limit, it may further reflect a correction coefficient based on the sales quantity and sales amount of the products in the first product group included in the analysis unit to which the product belongs.
[0064] Here, the correction factor may refer to the ratio between the sales quantity of the first product group and the value converted into volume based on the standard unit price per reference unit or the representative unit price per analysis unit corresponding to the first product group.
[0065] For example, the quantity estimation unit (140) can calculate the estimated quantity upper limit or estimated quantity lower limit of a product by applying a correction coefficient to the quantity value calculated by dividing the sales amount of a product included in the second product group by the lower limit or upper limit of the representative unit price per analysis unit.
[0066] Accordingly, the volume estimation unit (140) can correct the error in the estimated volume range of the second product group by reflecting the actual transaction sales volume pattern of the first product group containing volume information, in addition to simply dividing the sales amount by the representative unit price for each analysis unit.
[0067] Meanwhile, the volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the actual volume for each product included in the first product group based on the sales quantity and volume information of the product (see step S440 of FIG. 4). For example, the volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the actual volume of the product by multiplying the sales quantity of each product included in the first product group by the volume information of the product.
[0068] Additionally, the volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the estimated volume for each product included in the second product group based on the sales amount of the product and the representative unit price for each analysis unit corresponding to the analysis unit to which the product belongs, as described above.
[0069] The volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the total volume of products for each analysis unit by summing the actual volume calculated for each product included in the first product group and the estimated volume calculated for each product included in the second product group (see step S260 of FIG. 2). For example, the volume estimation unit (140) can calculate the total volume of products for the corresponding analysis unit by summing the actual volume and the estimated volume of products belonging to the same item, the same distribution channel, or the same period.
[0070] Accordingly, the product quantity estimation device (100) reflects the actual quantity for the first product group that includes quantity information and reflects the estimated quantity for the second product group that does not include quantity information, so that even when products with different quantities of quantity information are included together in the combined data, the total product quantity per analysis unit can be calculated in a consistent manner.
[0072] Meanwhile, FIG. 5 is a configuration diagram of a computing system (1000) in which a product quantity estimation device (100) according to another embodiment of the present invention is implemented.
