Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a detachable secondary battery pack, and more specifically, to a detachable secondary battery pack that solves the problem that, when the battery pack is small, it is difficult to seal the terminal portion due to thickness limitations and the bending process of the stacking electrode plates is cumbersome and difficult. Background Technology

[0003] The mainstream approach for existing mobile phones was to incorporate polymer batteries to achieve a thinner body and higher battery capacity.

[0004] However, new EU regulations on battery lifecycle management came into effect in August 2023, and the main point is to mandate that users replace the batteries of their mobile devices.

[0005] In order to enable battery replacement in this manner, if the outer casing of the polymer battery is a pouch, the strength is weak and there is a risk of damaging the inside of the battery during handling; therefore, a new high-capacity battery that can be made thin and has external strength is required.

[0006] Looking at the prior art that aligns with this trend, U.S. Publication No. 20210074958, as can be seen in FIG. 11, is composed of a housing (310), an electrode (320), a flange (312), a base (314), a cover (316), etc., and adopts a structure in which a terminal is installed on the side of the CAN (310) using a thin metal.

[0007] However, if a riveting structure is used for these terminal parts (332), the battery can (CAN) thickness is thinner than that of a rectangular shape, so there is a problem in that sealing by gasket compression in the inner diameter of the CAN is almost impossible to expect.

[0008] This is because there is a limitation on the thickness of the battery cell itself, which has a certain power generation capacity.

[0009] Conventional polymer secondary batteries (polymer cells) have a pressure resistance of 5 kgf / cm² 2 If the temperature rises even slightly, the pouch swells and becomes unusable; even if the material is changed to a SUS can, it is difficult to use because it swells due to its thin thickness.

[0010] In addition, while the stacking plates (322, 324) are outside the CAN, the plates must be inserted into the CAN after welding the plates and the rivet plate (332). At this time, it is necessary to perform bending processing so that the plates (positive electrodes) do not come into contact with the CAN or the Cover Plate (negative electrode), but since the thickness is limited to an extremely narrow area, the process is cumbersome and difficult (since the plates are long and must be bent multiple times to be inserted). Prior art literature

[0012] United States Application No. 16883959 Filing Date: May 26, 2020 (Publication No.: 20210074958, Publication Date: March 11, 2021, Applicant: Apple Inc.) The problem to be solved

[0013] Therefore, the technical problem that the present invention aims to solve is to provide a detachable secondary battery pack that resolves the issues of difficulty in sealing the terminal portion due to thickness limitations when the battery pack is small, and the cumbersome and difficult bending process of the stacking electrode plates. means of solving the problem

[0015] To solve the aforementioned technical problem, the present invention provides a detachable secondary battery pack characterized by comprising: a container portion having one side open to accommodate a power generation element; a cover portion that covers and seals one side of the container portion; and a recessed installation portion having an electrode hole in which an electrode terminal portion is installed so that one side of the container portion is recessed to form an electrode.

[0016] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the recessed installation part may be provided such that one side has a lower height than the other three sides when the planar shape is rectangular.

[0017] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the recessed installation portion may be configured to stack components connected to an external circuit or components that manage and control a charge state, voltage, internal resistance, or temperature variation.

[0018] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the height at which the parts are stacked may be less than or equal to the height of the recessed installation part.

[0019] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the recessed installation portion may include another electrode.

[0020] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the recessed installation portion may include an electrolyte injection hole.

[0021] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the recessed installation part may be provided only on a part of one side.

[0022] According to another embodiment of the present invention, the cover portion may be extended to reach the recessed installation portion. Effects of the invention

[0024] According to the detachable secondary battery pack of the present invention, when the battery pack is small, the problem of difficulty in sealing the terminal portion due to thickness limitations and the cumbersome and difficult bending process of the stacking electrode plates can be solved. [0036] A detachable secondary battery pack (100) according to the present invention is characterized by comprising a container portion (110) with one side open to accommodate a power generation element (JR), a cover portion (120) that covers and seals one side of the container portion, and a recessed installation portion (200) having an electrode hole (212) in which an electrode terminal portion (130) is installed so that one side of the container portion is recessed to form an electrode.

[0037] Here, the above-mentioned power generation element (JR) is a power generation electrode assembly for producing power in a secondary battery, and typically, a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate are stacked with a separator in between to form a terminal tab (stacking electrode plate) having a positive and a negative electrode, so that the negative electrode can be connected to a container part (110) or a cover part (120), and the positive electrode can be connected to an electrode terminal part (130).

[0038] Additionally, the container part (110) is provided in a low-height cuboid shape with one side open, into which an electrode assembly, which is a power generation element, can be embedded. After the process of embedding the electrode assembly and electrically connecting the terminal tabs of the electrode assembly through welding or heat fusion, the container part can be sealed by covering it with a cover part (120) corresponding to the shape with one side open.

[0039] The sealing of the container part (110) and the cover part (120) can be achieved through various means such as welding, heat fusion, or adhesive.

[0040] Meanwhile, a recessed installation part (200) may be included, which has an electrode hole (112) in which an electrode terminal part (130) is installed so that one side of the container part is recessed to form an electrode.

[0041] The above-mentioned recessed installation part may be provided such that, in the case where one side of the container part has a rectangular shape, one side has a lower height than the other three sides.

[0042] For example, if the height of the other three sides is the container height (H), the height of the recessed installation part can be the height (Hh) obtained by subtracting the floor height (h) from the container height (H).

[0043] The floor portion (210) above refers to the recessed floor portion of the recessed installation portion, and the height of the recessed wall (220) extending from this floor portion to the three sides of the container can be the height (Hh) obtained by subtracting the height of the floor portion (h) from the height of the container.

[0044] In particular, the height of the above-mentioned recessed wall (220) is preferably sufficient to provide space for installing the electrode terminal section (130), and furthermore, it may also provide space for stacking components such as a component that connects the electrode terminal section to an external circuit (e.g., a connector module), or a component such as a Battery Management System (BMS) that manages and controls the battery status, such as the charge state, voltage, internal resistance, temperature, etc.

[0045] Here, when the above parts are stacked in the recessed installation part, it is preferable that their height be less than or equal to the height of the recessed installation part.

[0046] In addition, this recessed bottom portion (210) may be provided with an electrode hole (212).

[0047] The electrode hole may be provided with an electrode terminal portion (130).

[0048] The above electrode terminal part (130) can be provided by a rivet method or a heat fusion method.

[0049] First, regarding the riveting method, the other end of the rivet (132) is inserted into the electrode hole (212) with the gasket (134) in between and passes through it sequentially, passing through the insulating layer (136) and the rivet plate (hole, 138). When the rivet is pressed, the other end of the rivet pulls the rivet plate (hole) toward the end, and the other end is spread out, allowing riveting to be performed.

[0050] Since a gasket, an insulating layer, and a rivet plate are provided between one end and the other end of the rivet (132), sealing can be ensured. In particular, since the width of the bottom portion (210) can be secured in various sizes as desired, smooth and sufficient work can be performed during riveting, thereby strengthening sealing.

[0051] Next, regarding the heat fusion method, the other end of the cap-up portion (132') is inserted into the electrode hole (212) with the gasket (134) in between and penetrates, passes through the insulating layer (136), and then comes into contact with the opposing plate (138'), and then heat is applied to fuse the other end of the cap-up portion and the opposing plate.

[0052] Since the cap-up portion (132') is fused with a gasket and an insulating layer between one end and the other end and the opposing plate, it is possible to ensure airtightness. In particular, since the width of the bottom portion (210) can be secured in various sizes as desired, smooth and sufficient work can be performed during heat fusion, thereby strengthening airtightness.

[0053] In this way, a terminal tab (not shown) corresponding to the positive terminal can be connected to the aforementioned rivet (132) or cap-up part (132'), and the terminal tab can be welded or heat-fused to the rivet plate (138) or the opposing plate (138').

[0054] Meanwhile, the above-mentioned recessed installation part (200) may include another electrode (140).

[0055] The above-mentioned other electrode (140) may be an electrode connected to the negative electrode when the previously described rivet (132) or cap-up part (132') is used as the positive electrode.

[0056] The above-mentioned other electrode (140) can be connected by welding or heat-fusion to the terminal tab (142) corresponding to the negative electrode in the buried power generation element (JR).

[0057] Here, the above-mentioned negative terminal tab can be connected to a container or cover so that the entire thing can be used as a negative electrode, but when connected to another electrode, insulation between the container (110) and the cover (120) becomes important. It is preferable to cover the cover after welding the negative terminal tab and then covering it by extending the insulating layer (136) sufficiently large so that the welded part can be sufficiently covered.

[0058] In addition, the above-mentioned recessed installation part (200) may include an electrolyte injection hole (150).

[0059] In the bottom portion of the above-mentioned recessed installation part, an electrolyte injection hole (150) is drilled and the electrolyte is injected, then the injection port is sealed with an injection port plug (152), and then the plug and the hole can be welded or heat-fused.

[0060] Here, instead of the injection port plug, a hole cover plate (152') that can cover the area around the electrolyte injection hole (150) may be covered, and a heat fusion agent (154) may be interposed to attach it by heat fusion.

[0061] In addition, the above-mentioned recessed installation part (200) may be provided such that, in the case where the flat surface of one side of the container part is rectangular, one side has a lower height than the other three sides, and may be provided only on a part of one side.

[0062] Since the above-mentioned recessed installation part (200) is lower in height than other container parts, the internal space of the entire container is essentially reduced, and accordingly, the capacity of the buried power generation element is reduced. Therefore, by limiting the recessed installation part to only a part of one side, the reduction in the power generation element can be reduced, and sufficient power generation capacity can be secured.

[0063] In addition, the above cover portion (120) may be extended to reach the recessed installation portion (200).

[0064] The above cover portion (120) can be extended to reach the recessed installation portion (200) to cover or protect components such as an electrolyte injection portion, a connector module, and a BMS provided in the recessed installation portion. Explanation of the symbols

[0066] Secondary battery pack (100), power generation element (JR), container part (110), cover part (120), electrode terminal part (130), electrode hole (212), recessed installation part (200).
