Background Technology
[0002] Tissues generally used as wet wipes or dry wipes are made by thinly structuring synthetic fibers, viscose fibers, cotton fibers, cellulose fibers, natural plant fibers, etc., into tissue, adding a chemical solution to it, and sterilizing it so that the user's hands and face, etc., can be wiped regardless of location.
[0003] In addition, tissues are manufactured by impregnating a non-woven fabric with purified water or a functional chemical solution, and the thickness, strength, and absorbency of the non-woven fabric are adjusted according to the intended use.
[0004] Recently, there has been an increasing demand for high-end tissues with a high basis weight in the range of 80 to 100 GSM (Gram per Square Metre) to improve user convenience and usability.
[0005] Generally, tissues are disposable products designed to remove contaminants from skin or various surfaces, requiring a soft touch, excellent absorbency, and sufficient mechanical strength. To meet these requirements, various types of nonwoven fabrics have been used as tissue materials.
[0006] Conventional nonwoven fabrics for tissues are mainly manufactured using fibers such as rayon, polyester, and polypropylene, and manufacturing methods such as the spunlace method, needle punch method, and heat bonding method have been applied. Among these, the spunlace method, which entangles fibers using a high-pressure water jet, is widely used in the manufacture of nonwoven fabrics for tissues because it can achieve a soft feel and excellent absorbency without using adhesives.
[0007] In particular, rayon fibers have been widely used in tissue fabrics due to their excellent hydrophilicity and superior moisture absorption and retention capabilities.
[0008] For reference, a technology for using a tissue material that is manufactured by mixing at least one of the pulp materials recovered by a wet method from waste toilet paper, waste crushed pulp, waste cotton pulp, waste wood pulp, waste recycled pulp, and waste synthetic resin fiber with a plant protein separated and extracted from soybeans, cottonseed, and rapeseed, and using pulp with a basis weight of 30 to 100 g / m² and a tensile strength of 70 to 200 N in the longitudinal direction and 10 to 60 N in the transverse direction has been disclosed by the applicant in the "Eco-friendly Aroma Wet Wipe and Method of Manufacturing the Same" in Korean Registered Patent Publication No. 10-1911667 (Registration Date: October 18, 2018). [0038] FIG. 1 is a process flowchart of a method for manufacturing a spunlace nonwoven fabric using cottonseed down-derived rayon fibers according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0039] As illustrated in FIG. 1, a method for manufacturing a spunlace nonwoven fabric using cottonseed down-derived rayon fibers according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: preparing a pretreatment solution in which HPC (Hydroxypropyl Cellulose), CMC (Carboxymethyl Cellulose), and sucrose fatty acid ester (Sucrose ester, Sucrose-(O-CO-R)n (n = 1~8))) are dissolved in a water-soluble medium, and then performing surface functionalization pretreatment by finely spraying the pretreatment solution onto the cottonseed down-derived rayon fibers; forming a nonwoven web with a double structure of a strong bond inner layer and a loose surface layer by uniformly arranging the pretreated cottonseed down-derived rayon fibers using a carding process (S12); and spraying high-pressure water at a rate of 8~9 MJ / kg onto the double-structured nonwoven web to entangle the fibers and thereby hydroentangle the fabric. A manufacturing step (S13), and compressing the fabric at a pressure of 0.5 to 3.0 MPa to maintain a loose structure and low crystallinity, with a density of 0.15 to 0.35 g / cm³ 3The method comprises the following steps: a step (S14) of maintaining the spacing between fibers and improving moisture permeability by adjusting the temperature; a step (S15) of drying the fabric in multiple stages from a low temperature of 80 to 100°C to a high temperature of 120 to 130°C to maintain the porous structure and increase moisture retention and surface flexibility; a step (S16) of improving hydrophilicity and adhesion by introducing polar groups to the surface through plasma treatment of the fabric surface; a step (S17) of softening the fabric by finely spraying a softening agent onto the fabric surface at 80 to 100 GSM (Gram per Square Metre); a step (S18) of forming an embossing pattern on the fabric at a low temperature of 50 to 70°C; and a step (S19) of cutting the manufactured fabric to fit tissue specifications and packaging it.
[0040] The operation of the spunlace nonwoven fabric utilizing cottonseed down-derived rayon fiber according to one embodiment of the present invention and the method for manufacturing the same, based on the above-described composition, is as follows.
[0041] First, cotton fibers are separated from cotton seeds and impurities (seed husks, dust, etc.) are removed. Then, pectin, fat, and wax components are removed through alkali treatment (NaOH aqueous solution, 2~10 wt%), and lignin and pigment components are removed by performing a bleaching process (H2O₂ or NaClO), thereby obtaining high-purity cellulose with a cellulose content of 95% or more.
[0042] Next, high-purity cellulose is immersed in a sodium hydroxide (NaOH) solution to form alkali cellulose, which is then pressed and ground.
[0043] Next, after aging the crushed alkali cellulose, it is reacted with carbon disulfide (CS₂) to form cellulose xanthate.
[0044] Next, cellulose xanthate is dissolved in a diluted NaOH solution to prepare a viscose solution, and then this viscose solution is extruded through a spinneret to form cotton linter-derived rayon fibers with a dtex of 0.9 dtex or less. The cotton linter-derived rayon fibers eliminate the foreign sensation upon contact with the skin by providing a soft, fluffy feel characteristic of natural cotton fibers.
[0045] Next, a pretreatment solution is prepared by dissolving HPC (Hydroxypropyl Cellulose), CMC (Carboxymethyl Cellulose), and sucrose fatty acid ester (Sucrose ester, Sucrose-(O-CO-R)n (n = 1~8))) in a water-soluble medium at a concentration of 0.1~2.0 wt%, and then the pretreatment solution is finely sprayed onto cottonseed down-derived rayon fibers to suppress the stickiness and slipperiness characteristic of rayon and to impart a soft yet silky texture and feel (S11).
[0046] Next, the pretreated cottonseed down-derived rayon fibers are uniformly arranged in a carding process, and the lamination density and directionality of the fibers are controlled by adjusting the card roller speed difference and lamination speed, thereby forming a nonwoven web with a double structure of a strongly bonded inner layer and a loose surface layer (S12). Accordingly, a structure is formed in which the high-density inner layer provides mechanical tensile strength and the surface layer provides a fine hair-like texture.
[0047] Next, a fabric is manufactured by spraying high-pressure water of 8 to 9 Mj / kg onto a double-layered nonwoven web to entangle the fibers, thereby causing hydroentanglement (S13). At this time, fibers with a dtex of 0.9 or less are used to lower the cohesive force between fibers, thereby inducing the fibers to become more finely entangled during hydroentanglement, forming a structure with a relatively high air content and volume, so that the user can feel a soft cushioning sensation.
[0048] Subsequently, the fabric is compressed using a soft calender at a pressure of 0.5 to 3.0 MPa to maintain a loose structure and low crystallinity, with a density of 0.15 to 0.35 g / cm³. 3 It is adjusted to maintain the interfiber spacing and improve moisture penetration (S14).
[0049] Next, the fabric is dried in multiple stages from a low temperature of 80 to 100°C to a high temperature of 120 to 130°C to maintain its porous structure and increase its moisture retention and surface flexibility (S15). By maintaining the elasticity of the fabric through such low-pressure compression and multi-stage drying processes, the stiffness of the fabric is prevented, thereby providing the user with a consistent cotton-like quality.
[0050] Next, a low-pressure plasma device is used to apply a weak plasma treatment to the surface of the fabric to introduce polar groups such as -OH and -COOH to the surface, thereby improving hydrophilicity (absorption rate) and adhesion (S16).
[0051] Next, a softening agent is prepared by dissolving 2% by weight of glycerin and 1% by weight of PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) in a water-soluble medium, and then 1 to 3% by weight of the softening agent relative to the weight of the fabric is finely sprayed onto the surface of the fabric at a rate of 80 to 100 GSM (Gram per Square Metre) to soften the fabric (S17). The above PEG (Polyethylene Glycol) is a hydrophilic polymer that reacts easily with moisture and breaks down the fiber network by weakening the hydrogen bonds between fibers in a water state.
[0052] Next, by forming an embossing pattern on the fabric at a low temperature of 50 to 70°C, the fabric is prevented from hardening and maintains a soft texture while visually increasing the volume and expanding the actual absorption area (S18).
[0053] Next, the fabric manufactured in this way is cut to the tissue specifications and packaged to prevent external contamination (S19).
[0054] Meanwhile, after the step of softening the fabric (S17), a fabric texture can be created on the fabric using a molding device.
