[0073] Group II-VI compounds are diatomic compounds selected from the group consisting of CdSe, CdTe, CdS, ZnS, ZnSe, ZnTe, ZnO, HgS, HgSe, HgTe, MgSe, MgS, and mixtures thereof; ternary compounds selected from the group consisting of CdSeS, CdSeTe, CdSTe, ZnSeS, ZnSeTe, ZnSTe, HgSeS, HgSeTe, HgSTe, CdZnS, CdZnSe, CdZnTe, CdHgS, CdHgSe, CdHgTe, HgZnS, HgZnSe, HgZnTe, MgZnSe, MgZnS, and mixtures thereof; and may be selected from the group consisting of four-element compounds selected from the group consisting of HgZnTeS, CdZnSeS, CdZnSeTe, CdZnSTe, CdHgSeS, CdHgSeTe, CdHgSTe, HgZnSeS, HgZnSeTe, HgZnSTe and mixtures thereof.

[0074] Group III-VI compounds include binary compounds such as In2S3 and In2Se3, and InGaS 3 It may include ternary compounds such as InGaSe3, or any combination thereof.

[0075] Group I-III-VI compounds are ternary compounds selected from the group consisting of AgInS, AgInS2, CuInS, CuInS2, AgGaS2, CuGaS2CuGaO2, AgGaO2, AgAlO2, and mixtures thereof, or AgInGaS2, It can be selected from four-element compounds such as CuInGaS2.

[0076] III-V group compounds may be selected from the group consisting of diatomic compounds selected from the group consisting of GaN, GaP, GaAs, GaSb, AlN, AlP, AlAs, AlSb, InN, InP, InAs, InSb, and mixtures thereof; ternary compounds selected from the group consisting of GaNP, GaNAs, GaNSb, GaPAs, GaPSb, AlNP, AlNAs, AlNSb, AlPAs, AlPSb, InGaP, InAlP, InNP, InNAs, InNSb, InPAs, InPSb, and mixtures thereof; and quaternary compounds selected from the group consisting of GaAlNP, GaAlNAs, GaAlNSb, GaAlPAs, GaAlPSb, GaInNP, GaInNAs, GaInNSb, GaInPAs, GaInPSb, InAlNP, InAlNAs, InAlNSb, InAlPAs, InAlPSb, and mixtures thereof. Meanwhile, III-V group compounds may further include a group II metal. For example, InZnP, etc., can be selected as a Group III-II-V compound.

[0077] Group IV-VI compounds may be selected from the group consisting of SnS, SnSe, SnTe, PbS, PbSe, PbTe, and mixtures thereof; ternary compounds selected from the group consisting of SnSeS, SnSeTe, SnSTe, PbSeS, PbSeTe, PbSTe, SnPbS, SnPbSe, SnPbTe, and mixtures thereof; and quaternary compounds selected from the group consisting of SnPbSSe, SnPbSeTe, SnPbSTe, and mixtures thereof. Group IV elements may be selected from the group consisting of Si, Ge, and mixtures thereof. Group IV compounds may be ternary compounds selected from the group consisting of SiC, SiGe, and mixtures thereof.

[0078] In this case, the binary, ternary, or quaternary compounds may exist within the particle at a uniform concentration, or they may exist within the same particle with their concentration distributions partially divided into different states. Additionally, they may have a core-shell structure in which one quantum dot surrounds another. In a core-shell structure, the concentration of the element in the shell may have a concentration gradient, decreasing as it approaches the core.

[0079] In some embodiments, the quantum dot may have a core-shell structure comprising a core containing the aforementioned nanocrystal and a shell surrounding the core. The shell of the quantum dot may serve as a protective layer to maintain semiconductor properties by preventing chemical degradation of the core and / or as a charging layer to impart electrophoretic properties to the quantum dot. The shell may be a single layer or a multilayer. Examples of the shell of the quantum dot include oxides of metals or non-metals, semiconductor compounds, or combinations thereof.

[0080] For example, the oxide of the metal or nonmetal mentioned above may be exemplified as a binary compound such as SiO2, Al2O3, TiO2, ZnO, MnO, Mn2O3, Mn3O4, CuO, FeO, Fe2O3, Fe3O4, CoO, Co3O4, NiO, or a ternary compound such as MgAl2O4, CoFe2O4, NiFe2O4, CoMn2O4, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0081] In addition, the above semiconductor compounds may be examples of CdS, CdSe, CdTe, ZnS, ZnSe, ZnTe, ZnSeS, ZnTeS, GaAs, GaP, GaSb, HgS, HgSe, HgTe, InAs, InP, InGaP, InSb, AlAs, AlP, AlSb, etc., but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0082] Quantum dots can have a full width of half maximum (FWHM) of the emission wavelength spectrum of about 45 nm or less, preferably about 40 nm or less, and more preferably about 30 nm or less, and color purity or color reproducibility can be improved in this range. In addition, since the light emitted through these quantum dots is emitted in all directions, the viewing angle can be improved.

[0083] In addition, the shape of the quantum dots is not specifically limited to shapes commonly used in the field, but more specifically, shapes such as spherical, pyramidal, multi-arm, or cubic nanoparticles, nanotubes, nanowires, nanofibers, and nanoplate particles may be used.

[0084] Quantum dots can control the color of the light they emit depending on their particle size, and accordingly, they can have various emission colors such as blue, red, and green. In one embodiment, quantum dots included in a light control pattern (CCP-R) superimposed on a first pixel area (PXA-R) may have a red emission color. The smaller the particle size of the quantum dots, the more likely they are to emit light in the short wavelength region. For example, among quantum dots with the same core, the particle size of a quantum dot emitting green light may be smaller than the particle size of a quantum dot emitting red light. Additionally, among quantum dots with the same core, the particle size of a quantum dot emitting blue light may be smaller than the particle size of a quantum dot emitting green light. However, the embodiments are not limited thereto, and even among quantum dots with the same core, the particle size may be controlled depending on the shell forming material and shell thickness, etc.

[0085] Meanwhile, if quantum dots have various emission colors such as blue, red, and green, the quantum dots with different emission colors may have different core materials.

[0086] The light control pattern (CCP-R) may further include a scatterer. The light control pattern (CCP-R) may include a quantum dot that converts source light into red light and a scatterer that scatters light.

[0087] The scattering material may be an inorganic particle. For example, the scattering material may comprise at least one of TiO2, ZnO, Al2O3, SiO2, and hollow silica. The scattering material may comprise any one of TiO2, ZnO, Al2O3, SiO2, and hollow silica, or it may be a mixture of two or more materials selected from TiO2, ZnO, Al2O3, SiO2, and hollow silica.

[0088] The light control pattern (CCP-R) may include a base resin that disperses quantum dots and scatterers. The base resin serves as a medium in which quantum dots and scatterers are dispersed and may consist of various resin compositions that can generally be referred to as binders. For example, the base resin may be an acrylic resin, a urethane resin, a silicone resin, an epoxy resin, etc. The base resin may be a transparent resin.

[0089] In this embodiment, the light control pattern (CCP-R) can be formed by an inkjet process. A liquid composition is provided within the bank opening (BW-OH). The composition, polymerized by a thermal curing process or a photocuring process, has a reduced volume after curing.

[0090] A step difference may occur between the upper surface of the bank (BMP) and the upper surface of the light control pattern (CCP-R). That is, the upper surface of the bank (BMP) may be defined as higher than the upper surface of the light control pattern (CCP-R). The height difference between the upper surface of the bank (BMP) and the upper surface of the light control pattern (CCP-R) may be, for example, about 2 μm to about 3 μm.

[0091] The light control layer (CCL) may further include a barrier layer (CAP, CAP-T) disposed on at least one of the upper and lower portions of the light control pattern (CCP-R). The barrier layer (CAP, CAP-T) may serve to prevent the penetration of moisture and / or oxygen (hereinafter referred to as 'moisture / oxygen'). The barrier layer (CAP, CAP-T) may be disposed on the upper and lower portions of the light control pattern (CCP-R) to block the light control patterns (CCP-R, CCP-B, CCP-G) from being exposed to moisture / oxygen.

[0092] The barrier layer may include a first barrier layer (CAP) adjacent to the display element layer (DP-LED) and a second barrier layer (CAP-T) spaced apart from the display element layer (DP-LED) with the light control pattern (CCP-R) in between. The first barrier layer (CAP) may cover one side of the light control pattern (CCP-R) adjacent to the display element layer (DP-LED), and the second barrier layer (CAP-T) may cover the other side of the light control pattern (CCP-R) adjacent to the color filter layer (CFL). Additionally, the barrier layers (CAP, CAP-T) may cover not only the light control pattern (CCP-R) but also the bank (BMP).

[0093] The first barrier layer (CAP) may be positioned to follow the step difference between the bank (BMP) and the light control pattern (CCP-R). The second barrier layer (CAP-T) may cover one side of the bank (BMP) and the light control pattern (CCP-R) adjacent to the color filter layer (CFL). The second barrier layer (CAP-T) may be positioned directly below the low-refractive index layer (LR).

[0094] The barrier layer (CAP, CAP-T) may comprise at least one inorganic layer. That is, the barrier layer (CAP, CAP-T) may be formed by including an inorganic material. For example, the barrier layer (CAP, CAP-T) may comprise silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, zirconium nitride, titanium nitride, hafnium nitride, tantalum nitride, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, cerium oxide, silicon oxynitride, or a metal thin film having secured light transmittance. For example, the first barrier layer (CAP) disposed below the light control pattern (CCP-R) may comprise silicon oxynitride, and the second barrier layer (CAP-T) disposed above the light control pattern (CCP-R) may comprise silicon oxide. However, the embodiments are not limited thereto. Meanwhile, the barrier layer (CAP, CAP-T) may further comprise an organic film. The barrier layer (CAP, CAP-T) may be composed of a single layer or multiple layers. In the barrier layer (CAP, CAP-T), the inorganic film protects the light control pattern (CCP-R) from external moisture, and the organic film may be for removing steps defined by the bank (BMP) and the light control pattern (CCP-R) and for providing a flat base surface to the member to be placed on the upper side.

[0095] A color filter layer (CFL) is disposed on the light control layer (CCL). The color filter layer (CFL) includes at least one color filter (CF1). The color filter (CF1) transmits light within a specific wavelength range and blocks light outside that wavelength range. The color filter (CF1) of the first pixel area (PXA-R) can transmit red light and block green and blue light.

[0096] The color filter (CF1) comprises a base resin and a dye and / or pigment dispersed in the base resin. The base resin serves as a medium in which the dye and / or pigment are dispersed and may consist of various resin compositions that can generally be referred to as a binder. A detailed description of the color filter (CF1) will be provided below.

[0097] The color filter (CF1) may have a uniform thickness within the first pixel area (PXA-R). Light converted from source light containing blue light into red light through the light control pattern (CCP-R) may be provided externally with uniform brightness within the first pixel area (PXA-R).

[0098] The color filter layer (CFL) may include a low-refractive index layer (LR). The low-refractive index layer (LR) may be positioned between the light control layer (CCL) and the color filter (CF1). The low-refractive index layer (LR) may be positioned above the light control layer (CCL) to block the light control pattern (CCP-R) from being exposed to moisture / oxygen. Additionally, the low-refractive index layer (LR) may be positioned between the light control pattern (CCP-R) and the color filter (CF1) to function as an optical functional layer, such as by increasing light extraction efficiency or preventing reflected light from entering the light control layer (CCL). The low-refractive index layer (LR) may be a layer with a lower refractive index compared to adjacent layers.

[0099] The low refractive index layer (LR) is a layer having a low refractive index and may be a mixed layer of organic and inorganic materials. In one embodiment, the low refractive index layer (LR) may include a polymer resin, and may be a polymer resin in which inorganic particles are dispersed. The polymer resin included in the low refractive index layer (LR) may be, for example, silicone resin and / or acrylic silicone resin. The inorganic particles included in the low refractive index layer (LR) may be, for example, hollow sphere silica and / or porogen. However, not limited thereto, the low refractive index layer (LR) may be composed of silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, zirconium nitride, titanium nitride, hafnium nitride, tantalum nitride, silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, titanium oxide, tin oxide, cerium oxide, silicon oxynitride, or a metal thin film having secured light transmittance. The low refractive index layer (LR) may be composed of a single layer or multiple layers.

[0100] The low refractive index layer (LR) may have a low refractive index of 1.3 or less. In one embodiment, the refractive index of the low refractive index layer (LR) may be 1.2. The low refractive index layer (LR) may have a refractive index of 1.3 or less in the wavelength range of 400 nm to 700 nm, which is the visible light range.

[0101] Meanwhile, in a display device (DD) of one embodiment, the color filter (CF1) of the color filter layer (CFL) can be placed directly on the light control layer (CCL). In this case, the low refractive index layer (LR) can be omitted.

[0102] In one embodiment, the display panel (DP) may further include a base layer (BL) disposed on a color filter layer (CFL). The base layer (BL) may be a member that provides a reference surface on which the color filter layer (CFL) and the light control layer (CCL), etc., are disposed. The base layer (BL) may be a glass substrate, a metal substrate, a plastic substrate, etc. However, the embodiment is not limited thereto, and the base layer (BL) may be an inorganic layer, an organic layer, or a composite material layer. In addition, unlike what is illustrated, the base layer (BL) may be omitted in one embodiment.

[0103] Although not illustrated, an anti-reflective layer may be disposed on the base layer (BL). The anti-reflective layer may be a layer that reduces the reflectance of external light incident from the outside. The anti-reflective layer may be a layer that selectively transmits light emitted from the display panel (DP). In one embodiment, the anti-reflective layer may be a single layer comprising a dye and / or pigment dispersed in a base resin. The anti-reflective layer may be provided as a continuous single layer that fully overlaps the entire first to third pixel regions (PXA-R, PXA-B, PXA-G, see FIG. 2c).

[0104] The anti-reflection layer may not include a polarization layer. Accordingly, light passing through the anti-reflection layer and incident on the display element layer (DP-LED) may be unpolarized light. The display element layer (DP-LED) can receive unpolarized light from the top of the anti-reflection layer.

[0105] A display panel (DP) of one embodiment includes a lower panel comprising a display element layer (DP-LED) and an upper panel (optical structure layer, OSL) comprising a light control layer (CCL) and a color filter layer (CFL). In one embodiment, a filling layer (FML) may be disposed between the lower panel and the upper panel (OSL). In one embodiment, the filling layer (FML) may fill the space between the display element layer (DP-LED) and the light control layer (CCL). The filling layer (FML) may be placed directly on the encapsulation layer (TFE), and a first barrier layer (CAP) included in the light control layer (CCL) may be placed directly on the filling layer (FML). The lower surface of the filling layer (FML) may be in contact with the upper surface of the encapsulation layer (TFE), and the upper surface of the filling layer (FML) may be in contact with the lower surface of the first barrier layer (CAP).

[0106] The fill layer (FML) can function as a buffer between the display element layer (DP-LED) and the light control layer (CCL). In one embodiment, the fill layer (FML) can perform shock absorption functions and increase the strength of the display panel (DP). The fill layer (FML) can be formed from a filler resin containing a polymer resin. For example, the fill layer (FML) may be formed from a filler resin containing an acrylic resin or an epoxy resin.

[0107] The filling layer (FML) may be formed in a separate process step, distinct from the encapsulating layer (TFE) positioned at the bottom and the first barrier layer (CAP) positioned at the top. Meanwhile, the filling layer (FML) may be formed from a different material from the encapsulating layer (TFE) and the barrier layer (CAP), respectively.

[0108] Referring to FIG. 2c, a display panel (DP) may include a base substrate (BS) and a circuit element layer (DP-CL) disposed on the base substrate (BS). The circuit element layer (DP-CL) may be disposed on the base substrate (BS). The circuit element layer (DP-CL) may include an insulating layer, a semiconductor pattern, a conductive pattern, and a signal line, etc. An insulating layer, a semiconductor layer, and a conductive layer are formed on the base substrate (BS) by means such as coating or deposition, and subsequently, the insulating layer, the semiconductor layer, and the conductive layer may be selectively patterned through a plurality of photolithography processes. Subsequently, the semiconductor pattern, the conductive pattern, and the signal line included in the circuit element layer (DP-CL) may be formed. In one embodiment, the circuit element layer (DP-CL) may include a transistor, a buffer layer, and a plurality of insulating layers.

[0109] A light-emitting element (LED) according to one embodiment may include a first electrode (EL1), a second electrode (EL2) facing the first electrode (EL1), and a light-emitting layer (EML) disposed between the first electrode (EL1) and the second electrode (EL2). The light-emitting layer (EML) included in the light-emitting element (LED) may include an organic light-emitting material or quantum dots as a light-emitting material. The light-emitting element (LED) may further include a hole control layer (HTR) and an electron control layer (ETR). Meanwhile, although not illustrated, the light-emitting element (LED) may further include a capping layer (not illustrated) disposed on top of the second electrode (EL2).

[0110] A pixel defining film (PDL) is disposed on a circuit element layer (DP-CL) and can cover a portion of the first electrode (EL1). A light-emitting opening (OH) is defined in the pixel defining film (PDL). The light-emitting opening (OH) of the pixel defining film (PDL) exposes at least a portion of the first electrode (EL1). In this embodiment, light-emitting regions (EA1, EA2, EA3) are defined to correspond to a portion of the first electrode (EL1) exposed by the light-emitting opening (OH).

[0111] The display element layer (DP-LED) may include a first light-emitting region (EA1), a second light-emitting region (EA2), and a third light-emitting region (EA3). The first light-emitting region (EA1), the second light-emitting region (EA2), and the third light-emitting region (EA3) may be regions separated by a pixel defining film (PDL). The first light-emitting region (EA1), the second light-emitting region (EA2), and the third light-emitting region (EA3) may correspond to a first pixel region (PXA-R), a second pixel region (PXA-B), and a third pixel region (PXA-G), respectively.

[0112] The light-emitting regions (EA1, EA2, EA3) may overlap with the pixel regions (PXA-R, PXA-B, PXA-G) and not overlap with the bank well region (BWA). When viewed in a planar view, the area of the pixel regions (PXA-R, PXA-B, PXA-G) separated by banks (BMP) may be larger than the area of the light-emitting regions (EA1, EA2, EA3) separated by pixel defining films (PDL).

[0113] In a light-emitting element (LED), a first electrode (EL1) is disposed on a circuit element layer (DP-CL). The first electrode (EL1) may be an anode or a cathode. Additionally, the first electrode (EL1) may be a pixel electrode. The first electrode (EL1) may be a transmissive electrode, a transmissive electrode, or a reflective electrode.

[0114] A hole control layer (HTR) may be disposed between the first electrode (EL1) and the light-emitting layer (EML). The hole control layer (HTR) may include at least one of a hole injection layer, a hole transport layer, and an electron blocking layer. The hole control layer (HTR) may be disposed as a common layer to overlap with the entire pixel defining film (PDL) separating the light-emitting regions (EA1, EA2, EA3). However, the embodiment is not limited thereto, and the hole control layer (HTR) may be patterned and provided to be disposed separately corresponding to each of the light-emitting regions (EA1, EA2, EA3).

[0115] The light-emitting layer (EML) is disposed on the hole control layer (HTR). In one embodiment, the light-emitting layer (EML) may be provided as a common layer to overlap the entire pixel defining layer (PDL) separating the light-emitting regions (EA1, EA2, EA3) and the light-emitting regions (EA1, EA2, EA3). In one embodiment, the light-emitting layer (EML) may emit blue light. The light-emitting layer (EML) may overlap the entire hole control layer (HTR) and the electron control layer (ETR).

[0116] However, the embodiments are not limited thereto, and in one embodiment, the light-emitting layer (EML) may be disposed within the light-emitting aperture (OH). That is, the light-emitting layer (EML) may be formed separately to correspond to light-emitting regions (EA1, EA2, EA3) separated by a pixel defining film (PDL). The light-emitting layer (EML) formed separately to correspond to the light-emitting regions (EA1, EA2, EA3) may all emit blue light or emit light of different wavelength regions.

[0117] The light-emitting layer (EML) may have a multilayer structure consisting of a single layer made of a single material, a single layer made of multiple different materials, or multiple layers made of multiple different materials. The light-emitting layer (EML) may include a fluorescent or phosphorescent material. In a light-emitting device of one embodiment, the light-emitting layer (EML) may include an organic light-emitting material, a metal-organic complex, or quantum dots as a light-emitting material. Meanwhile, although FIGS. 2b and 2c illustrate an example of a light-emitting device (LED) including a single light-emitting layer (EML), in one embodiment, the light-emitting device (LED) may include a plurality of light-emitting stacks, each comprising at least one light-emitting layer.

[0118] In FIG. 3, unlike the light-emitting element of one embodiment shown in FIG. 2b and 2c, a light-emitting element (LED) including a plurality of light-emitting stacks (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4) is illustrated as an example.

[0119] Referring to FIG. 3, a light-emitting element (LED) of one embodiment may include a first electrode (EL1), a second electrode (EL2) facing the first electrode (EL1), and first to fourth light-emitting stacks (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4) disposed between the first electrode (EL1) and the second electrode (EL2). Meanwhile, FIG. 3 exemplarily illustrates that the light-emitting element (LED) includes four light-emitting stacks, but the number of light-emitting stacks included in the light-emitting element (LED) may be fewer or more than this.

[0120] The light-emitting element (LED) may include first to third charge generating layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) disposed between first to fourth light-emitting stacks (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4).

[0121] Each of the first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) can generate charges (electrons and holes) by forming a complex through an oxidation-reduction reaction when voltage is applied. Subsequently, the first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) can provide the generated charges to adjacent stacks (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4), respectively. The first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) can double the efficiency of the current generated in the adjacent stacks (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4) and can play a role in regulating the balance of charges between the adjacent stacks (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4).

[0122] Each of the first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) may include an n-type layer and a p-type layer. The first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) may have a structure in which the n-type layer and the p-type layer are joined together. However, not limited thereto, the first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) may include only one of the n-type layer and the p-type layer. The n-type layer may be a charge generation layer that provides electrons to an adjacent stack. The n-type layer may be a layer in which an n-dopant is doped into a base material. The p-type layer may be a charge generation layer that provides holes to an adjacent stack.

[0123] In one embodiment, the thickness of each of the first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) may be 1 angstrom (Å) or more and 300 angstroms (Å) or less. For example, the thickness of each of the first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) may be 165 angstroms. The concentration of the n-dopant doped in the first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) may be 0.1% or more and 3% or less, specifically 1% or less. If the concentration is less than 0.1%, the effect of the first to third charge generation layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) in balancing charges may hardly occur. If the concentration is greater than 3%, it may reduce the light efficiency of the light-emitting device (OLED).

[0124] Each of the first to third charge generating layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) may comprise a charge generating compound composed of an arylamine-based organic compound, a metal, a metal oxide, a carbide, a fluoride, or a mixture thereof. For example, the arylamine-based organic compound may include α-NPD, 2-TNATA, TDATA, MTDATA, sprio-TAD, or sprio-NPB. The metal may include cesium (Cs), molybdenum (Mo), vanadium (V), titanium (Ti), tungsten (W), barium (Ba), or lithium (Li). The metal oxide, carbide, and fluoride may include Re2O7, MoO3, V2O5, WO3, TiO2, Cs2CO3, BaF, LiF, or CsF. However, the materials of the first to third charge generating layers (CGL1, CGL2, CGL3) are not limited to the above examples.

[0125] Each of the first to fourth light-emitting stacks (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4) may include a light-emitting layer. The first light-emitting stack (ST1) may include a first light-emitting layer (BEML-1), the second light-emitting stack (ST2) may include a second light-emitting layer (BEML-2), the third light-emitting stack (ST3) may include a third light-emitting layer (BEML-3), and the fourth light-emitting stack (ST4) may include a fourth light-emitting layer (GEML). Some of the light-emitting layers included in the first to fourth light-emitting stacks (ST1, ST2, ST3, ST4) may emit substantially the same color light, and some may emit different color light.

[0126] In one embodiment, the first to third light-emitting layers (BEML-1, BEML-2, BEML-3) of the first to third light-emitting stacks (ST1, ST2, ST3) may emit substantially the same first color light. For example, the first color light may be blue light, which is the source light described above. The wavelength range of the light emitted by the first to third light-emitting layers (BEML-1, BEML-2, BEML-3) may be about 420 nm or more and 480 nm or less.

[0127] The fourth light-emitting layer (GEML) of the fourth light-emitting stack (ST4) can emit a second color light that is different from the first color light. For example, the second color light may be green light. The wavelength range of the light emitted by the fourth light-emitting layer (GEML) may be approximately 520 nm or more and 600 nm or less.

[0128] At least some of the first to fourth light-emitting layers (BEML-1, BEML-2, BEML-3, GEML) may have a bilayer structure comprising different host materials. For example, one layer of the bilayer structure may comprise a hole-transporting host material, and the other may comprise an electron-transporting host material. The electron-transporting host material may be a material comprising an electron-transporting moiety within its molecular structure.

[0129] The first light-emitting stack (ST1) may include a hole control layer (HTR) that transports holes provided from the first electrode (EL1) to the first light-emitting layer (BEML-1), and a first intermediate electron transport region (METL1) that transports electrons generated from the first charge generation layer (CGL1) to the first light-emitting layer (BEML-1).

[0130] The hole control layer (HTR) may include a hole injection layer (HIL) disposed on the first electrode (EL1) and a hole transport layer (HTL) disposed on the hole injection layer (HIL). However, not limited thereto, the hole control layer (HTR) may further include at least one of a hole buffer layer, a light-emitting auxiliary layer, and an electron blocking layer. The hole transport layer and the hole buffer layer may be layers that increase light emission efficiency by compensating for the resonance distance according to the wavelength of light emitted from the light-emitting layer. The electron blocking layer may be a layer that prevents electron injection from the electron transport region to the hole transport region.

The first color filter (CF1) may include a red pigment or a red dye, the second color filter (CF2) may include a blue pigment or a blue dye, and the third color filter (CF3) may include a green pigment or a green dye.

[0156] Each of the first to third color filters (CF1, CF2, CF3) may be positioned corresponding to each of the first pixel area (PXA-R), the second pixel area (PXA-B), and the third pixel area (PXA-G). Additionally, each of the first to third color filters (CF1, CF2, CF3) may be positioned corresponding to each of the first to third light control patterns (CCP-R, CCP-B, CCP-G).

[0157] Additionally, a plurality of color filters (CF1, CF2, CF3) that transmit different light may be superimposed and arranged in the surrounding area (NPXA) positioned between the pixel areas (PXA-R, PXA-B, PXA-G). The light-blocking portion (not shown) may be formed by a blue filter, or may be formed by including an organic light-blocking material or an inorganic light-blocking material including a black pigment or a black dye.

[0158] The color filter layer (CFL) may include a low-refractive index layer (LR). The low-refractive index layer (LR) may be placed between the light control layer (CCL) and the color filters (CF1, CF2, CF3). The low-refractive index layer (LR) may be placed on top of the light control layer (CCL) to block the light control patterns (CCP-R, CCP-B, CCP-G) from being exposed to moisture / oxygen. Additionally, the low-refractive index layer (LR) may be placed between the light control patterns (CCP-R, CCP-B, CCP-G) and the color filters (CF1, CF2, CF3) to function as an optical functional layer, such as increasing light extraction efficiency or preventing reflected light from entering the light control layer (CCL). [0160] Meanwhile, in a display device (DD) of one embodiment, the color filters (CF1, CF2, CF3) of the color filter layer (CFL) can be placed directly on the light control layer (CCL). In this case, the low refractive index layer (LR) can be omitted.

[0161] In one embodiment, the optical structure layer (OSL) may further include a base layer (BL) disposed on a color filter layer (CFL). The base layer (BL) may be a member that provides a base surface on which the color filter layer (CFL) and the light control layer (CCL), etc., are disposed. The base layer (BL) may be a glass substrate, a metal substrate, a plastic substrate, etc. However, the embodiments are not limited thereto, and the base layer (BL) may be an inorganic layer, an organic layer, or a composite material layer. Also, unlike what is illustrated, the base layer (BL) may be omitted in one embodiment.

[0162] Referring again to FIG. 2b and FIG. 2c, the first color filter (CF1) and the second color filter (CF2) can each limit the transmittance to a certain range through the pigment and composition, thickness, etc. included.

[0163] The first color filter (CF1) included in the color filter layer (CFL) of one embodiment may have a light transmittance of 70% or less in a wavelength range of 600 nm or more and 640 nm or less. In one embodiment, the first light has a peak wavelength in a wavelength range of 620 nm or more and 640 nm or less, and the first color filter (CF1) may have a light transmittance of 60% or more and 70% or less in both the range of 620 nm or more and 640 nm or less, which is the peak wavelength range of the first light, and the adjacent range of 600 nm or more and less than 620 nm.

[0164] The first color filter (CF1) may include a point where the light transmittance is 10% in the wavelength range greater than 590 nm and less than or equal to 610 nm. Accordingly, the first color filter (CF1) can block light of wavelengths other than the first light, thereby improving the color reproduction rate of the display panel (DP).

[0166] The second color filter (CF2) included in the color filter layer (CFL) of one embodiment may have a light transmittance of 75% or less in a wavelength range of 430 nm or more and 470 nm or less. In one embodiment, the source light has a peak wavelength in a wavelength range of 440 nm or more and 460 nm or less, and the second color filter (CF2) may have a light transmittance of 65% or more and 75% or less in all of the wavelength range of 440 nm or more and 460 nm or less, which is the peak wavelength range of the source light, the adjacent range of 430 nm or more and less than 440 nm, and the range of 460 nm or more and less than 470 nm.

[0167] The full width at half maximum of the light transmittance spectrum of the second color filter (CF2) may be 95 nm or less. The second color filter (CF2) has a light transmittance spectrum with a full width at half maximum of 95 nm or less, and the light transmittance spectrum of the second color filter (CF2) may have a narrow shape in which the absorption rate increases to be specific to the desired wavelength and decreases significantly as the wavelength changes.

[0168] The first color filter (CF1) includes a red colorant. The first color filter (CF1) may include a red pigment or a red dye. [0173] In the second color filter (CF2), the weight ratio of blue pigment and purple pigment may be 70:30 to 80:20. The second color filter (CF2) may contain 70% to 80% of blue pigment and the remainder of purple pigment. Based on the total weight % of the second color filter (CF2), the total pigment may be included in an amount of 3% or more and 7% or less. The content ratio of pigment included in the second color filter (CF2) may vary depending on the thickness of the second color filter (CF2).

[0174] The thickness of the first color filter (CF1) may be greater than the thickness of the second color filter (CF2). In one embodiment, the first color filter (CF1) has a first thickness (d1), and the second color filter (CF2) has a second thickness (d2), and the first thickness (d1) may be greater than the second thickness (d2). [0175] In a color filter layer (CFL) of one embodiment, the first color filter (CF1) and the second color filter (CF2) each control the transmittance at the peak wavelength of light provided from the light control patterns (CCP-R, CCP-B) placed below, the transmittance at the adjacent wavelength range, the full width at half maximum, etc., to be below a certain range, thereby enabling a high color reproduction rate.

[0176] In the color filter layer (CFL) of one embodiment, the first color filter (CF1) and the second color filter (CF2) each control the transmittance at the peak wavelength of light provided from below to a range of 70% or less and 75% or less, respectively, and form a narrow width of the light transmittance spectrum by wavelength. A display panel (DP) according to one embodiment of the present invention has a structure in which a polarization layer is omitted. In order to control the reflectance and transmittance of light, which are in a trade-off relationship with each other, even without a polarization layer, the transmittance at the peak wavelength of light provided from a light source is controlled to a range of 70% or less and 75% or less, respectively, and form a narrow width of the light transmittance spectrum by wavelength. Through this, it is possible to selectively transmit light of a specific range of wavelengths among the light provided from below, while reducing light reflected by external light. Accordingly, a display panel (DP) including the color filter layer (CFL) of one embodiment can have low reflectance and high color reproduction rate.

[0177] FIG. 4a illustrates a graph of light transmittance of a first color filter included in a display panel according to one embodiment of the present invention, a graph of light transmittance of a color filter of a comparative example, and a graph of light transmittance emitted from a light source of one embodiment. FIG. 4b illustrates a graph of light transmittance of a second color filter included in a display panel according to one embodiment of the present invention, and a graph of light transmittance of a color filter of a comparative example. In FIG. 4a, the "light source" graph illustrates the emission spectrum of the first light after the source light provided from the light-emitting element (LED) shown in FIG. 2c passes through the first light control pattern (CCP-R).

[0178] Meanwhile, the transmittance of each of the first color filter and the second color filter was measured by using Otsuka Corporation's LCF-2100QD spectrometer, by forming each of the first color filter and the second color filter on a glass substrate and placing them on a stage, and obtaining spectral values after light provided from the bottom of the glass substrate passed through each of the first color filter and the second color filter.

[0179] The reflectance of each of the first color filter and the second color filter was calculated by using a Konica Minolta CM-2600D spectrophotometer, forming each of the first color filter and the second color filter on a glass substrate, placing them on a stage, irradiating the upper surfaces of the first color filter and the second color filter with light at an oblique angle, and measuring the light that was scattered as it bounced off the sample and reflected within the integrating sphere, and then measuring the light that had become uniform after bouncing.

[0180] Looking at the graph shown in FIG. 4a, the first light has a wavelength range of 620 nm to 640 nm as described above, more specifically at a maximum peak wavelength (λ) at approximately 630 nm. max ) has. [0182] Table 1 below shows the light transmittance, reflectance, and color match rate of a display panel including a color filter layer of an example and a comparative example. In Table 1, the color filter layer of the example is a color filter layer including a first color filter and a second color filter as described above in the description of FIGS. 2b and 2c. That is, the first color filter included in the color filter layer of the example has a light transmittance of 64.32% at 630 nm, and the point where the light transmittance is 10% in the light transmittance spectrum is located at 599 nm. The second color filter included in the color filter layer of the example has a light transmittance of 71.76% at 440 nm, and the wavelength at full width at half maximum of the light transmittance spectrum is 90 nm.

[0183] In the color filter layer of the comparative example, unlike the color filter layer of the embodiment, the red color filter corresponding to the first color filter has a light transmittance of 95.66% at 630 nm, and the point where the light transmittance is 10% in the light transmittance spectrum is located at 587 nm. In the color filter layer of the comparative example, the blue color filter corresponding to the second color filter has a light transmittance of 85.58% at 440 nm, and the wavelength at half maximum of the light transmittance spectrum is 108 nm.

[0184] In Table 1, the color matching rate was evaluated based on the BT2020 color space and the DCI color space.

[0185] Thickness (um) reflectivity(%) Color Match Rate (%) 1st color filter Second color filter BT2020 DCI Examples 4.2 3.0 5.07 91.3 99.7 Comparative example 2.4 2.6 10.3 84.1 -

[0186] Referring to the results in Table 1, it can be seen that the display panel including the color filter layer of the embodiment has a significantly reduced reflectance at the top of the panel and an improved color matching rate compared to the display panel including the color filter layer of the comparative example. Through the results in Table 1, it can be confirmed that the color filter layer of one embodiment can achieve low reflectance and high color reproduction rate when applied to a display panel by controlling the transmittance at the peak wavelength of light provided from a light source, the light transmittance in an adjacent wavelength range, and the full width at half maximum to a certain range or lower, thereby selectively transmitting light of a specific range of wavelengths among the light provided from below while reducing light reflected by external light.
