[0053] <Connector missing (300)>
[0054] FIGS. 9 and 10 are drawings showing the structure of a connector member (300) of a test socket (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0055] The connector member (300) may include a connector body (310) and a plurality of connector arms (320) connected to the connector body (310).
[0056] The connector body (310) may be configured as an upright plate. Specifically, the connector body (310) may be a plate-shaped portion that extends along a first direction and has a predetermined thickness and height.
[0057] The connector arm (320) may be formed in continuity with the connector body (310) and may be formed with a predetermined protruding line that protrudes to the side of the connector body (310). There may be multiple connector arms (320), and multiple connector arms (320) may be spaced apart by a predetermined distance in the front-rear direction.
[0058] Each of the above connector arms (320) may be configured with a line inclined upward and having a predetermined angle of inclination. The connector arms (320) may have a configuration that can elastically restore to maintain their shape.
[0059] Meanwhile, according to an embodiment, a short arm (330) extending with a shorter length than the connector arm (320) may be provided between the connector arms (320). The short arm (330) is a component distinct from the connector arm (320) and is a part having an extension length smaller than the extension length of the connector arm (320).
[0060] For example, as shown in FIG. 10, the connector arm (320) in the left-right direction may have an extension width of L1, and the short arm (330) may have an extension width of L2. L1 > L2.
[0061] The short arm (330) is not an essential component and may not be provided depending on the embodiment. For example, according to an embodiment, during the manufacturing process of the connector member (300), the connector member (300) may have a configuration without the short arm (330) from the beginning. According to another example, during the manufacturing process, the connector member (300) may have only the connector arm (320), and it is possible for some of the connector arms (320) to be processed into the short arm (330). That is, the position and number of connector arms (320) can be appropriately selected during the manufacturing process.
[0063] <Inter-absence Combination Relationship and Effects>
[0064] The following describes the connection relationships of each component and the resulting effects. However, the order of connection of each component is not limited by the order of the following description.
[0065] FIG. 11 is a drawing showing a connector member (300) mounted on a base member (100). For convenience of verification, FIG. 11 and 12 are shown in cross-section.
[0066] The connector member (300) can be mounted within the connector mounting slot (150) of the base member (100). Specifically, the connector mounting slot (150) of the base member (100) is open downward, and the connector member (300) can be mounted upward from the bottom of the base member (100) as shown by arrow A.
[0067] Figure 12 (a) shows the mounting form of the connector arm (320), and Figure 12 (b) shows the mounting form of the short arm (330).
[0068] The connector body (310) of the connector member (300) is inserted into the first mounting line (152), and the connector arm (320) is inserted into the second mounting line (154). Additionally, the short arm (330) is also inserted into the second mounting line (154).
[0069] The connector arm (320) may be located within the second mounting line (154), and according to the embodiment, at least one part may protrude into the contact mounting slot (130).
[0070] Meanwhile, the short arm (330) is located within the second mounting line (154), but can be located at a position spaced apart from the contact mounting slot (130) by a predetermined distance.
[0071] FIG. 13 is a drawing showing a contact member (200) being mounted on a base member (100), where (a) shows the mounting process and (b) shows the mounted state. Additionally, FIG. 14 shows contact between the contact member (200) and the connector arm (320) of the connector member (300), where FIG. 14 (b) is an enlarged view of part A of FIG. 14 (a).
[0072] The contact member (200) can be mounted within the contact mounting slot (130) of the base member (100). Specifically, the contact mounting slot (130) of the base member (100) is open downward, and the contact member (200) can be mounted upward from the bottom of the base member (100) as indicated by arrow A in FIG. 13. At this time, the support projection (224) of the contact member (200) is inserted into the contact support groove (142), and the contact member (200) can be fitted into the base member (100).
[0073] The device contact portion (212) of the top line (210) of the contact member (200) protrudes into the device mounting slot (120). Therefore, when the device to be tested is mounted into the device mounting slot (120), the terminal of the device to be tested can come into contact with the contact member (200) through the device contact portion (212).
[0074] In addition, the bottom line (230) of the contact member (200) extends to the lower part of the base member (100). Accordingly, when the test socket (1) is mounted on a predetermined test board, the contact member (200) can contact the board terminal of the test board through the bottom line (230).
[0075] Accordingly, the device terminal of the device under test and the substrate terminal of the test substrate can be energized through the contact member (200).
[0076] At this time, among the contact members (200), the contact member (200) mounted within the contact mounting slot (130) corresponding to the position of the connector arm (320) can have at least one part in contact with the connector arm (320). Specifically, a current-conducting point (T) can be formed by the connector contact portion (222) of the contact member (200) and the end of the connector arm (320) coming into close contact with each other. Accordingly, current conduction can be achieved between the contact member (200) and the connector member (300). At this time, the connector arm (320) has a configuration that allows it to elastically restore its shape so as to maintain its shape, thereby allowing the contact member (200) and the connector member (300) to come into close contact with each other.
[0077] FIG. 15 is a drawing showing a contact member (200) being mounted on a base member (100), where (a) shows the mounting process and (b) shows the mounted state. Additionally, FIG. 16 shows the spacing between the contact member (200) and the short arm (330) of the connector member (300), where FIG. 16 (b) is an enlarged view of part A of FIG. 16 (a).
[0078] As previously explained, the contact member (200) can be mounted within the contact mounting slot (130) of the base member (100).
[0079] At this time, among the contact members (200), the contact member (200) mounted in the contact mounting slot (130) that does not correspond to the position of the connector arm (320) (i.e., the contact member (200) mounted in the contact mounting slot (130) corresponding to the position of the short arm (330)) is spaced apart without at least one part contacting the connector arm (320). That is, the current point (T) formed by the connector contact portion (222) of the contact member (200) and the end of the connector arm (320) coming into close contact with each other, as previously described, is not formed. Therefore, current flow between the contact member (200) and the connector member (300) does not occur.
[0080] FIG. 17 shows the contact relationship between the contact member (200) and the connector member (300).
[0081] Referring to FIG. 17, the contact and current flow between the contact member (200) and the connector member (300) are described as follows.
[0082] The connector member (300) includes two or more connector arms (320). Some of the contact members (200A, 200C) among the multiple contact members (200) can come into contact with the connector member (300) and conduct electricity by facing each other with the connector arms (320) of the connector member (300). In addition, some of the contact members (200B) do not come into contact with the connector member (300) by facing each other with the short arm (330) of the connector member (300). Therefore, a conduction path mediated by the connector arm (320) can be formed between some of the contact members (200A, 200C) that come into contact with the connector member (300) through the connector arm (320). Meanwhile, other contact members (200B) that do not come into contact with the connector member (300) do not have electrical current with the connector arm (320).
[0083] The contact members (200A, 200C) that are connected to the connector member (300) can function as ground contacts that perform grounding. Meanwhile, the contact member (200B) that is not connected to the connector member (300) can function as a signal contact that transmits a signal.
[0084] Figure 18 (a) shows the insertion loss of a comparative example (a test socket (1) without a connector member (300)), and Figure 18 (b) shows the experimental results of the insertion loss of an embodiment (a test socket (1) with a connector member (300)).
[0085] In the case of the comparative example, the ground contacts are configured to be individually energized. The test socket (1) according to the embodiment is configured such that, in addition to the signal contact for signal transmission, the ground contacts are all connected through the connector member (300).
[0086] As shown in Fig. 18, it was confirmed that when ground contacts are connected to each other, insertion loss is reduced and signal transmission performance is improved.
[0087] In the test socket (1) according to an embodiment of the present invention, the ground contacts are connected to each other through the connector member (300), thereby reducing insertion loss and improving signal transmission performance.
[0089] Although preferred embodiments have been illustrated and described above, the present invention is not limited to the specific embodiments described above. It is understood that various modifications can be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the essence of the invention as claimed in the claims, and such modifications should not be understood individually from the technical spirit or perspective of the present invention.
