Description

Technology Field

[0001] The present invention relates to a safety touch display device for vehicles, and more specifically, to a safety touch display device for vehicles that can significantly reduce the risk of accidents caused by miss touches and the occurrence of interference and errors from key touches compared to conventional devices, and above all, can ensure driver safety through the expanded application of touch technology in automotive electronics. Background Technology

[0002] As computers utilizing digital technology develop, auxiliary devices for computers are also being developed; personal computers, portable transmission devices, and other personal information processing devices perform text and graphics processing using various input devices such as keyboards and mice.

[0003] However, interest in input device technology is shifting beyond simply satisfying general functions to include high reliability, durability, innovation, and technologies related to design and manufacturing; to achieve these objectives, touch panels have been developed as input devices capable of inputting information such as text and graphics.

[0004] In general, touch panels (or touchscreens) are widely utilized as a means of information input for electronic devices. Recently, touch panels have become widely used in most consumer electronics, including mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 players, PMPs, PSPs, portable game consoles, and navigation systems.

[0005] Touch panels or touchscreens known to date (hereinafter referred to as touch panels) are broadly classified into resistive and capacitive types (capacitive, resistive, infrared, etc.) depending on their operating method. In the case of capacitive touch panels, which are currently widely used, the method involves detecting changes in current on the panel when a finger comes into contact with the touch panel to receive position information of the finger.

[0006] Meanwhile, there has recently been a trend toward larger display touch screens and the digitalization of button keys. Consequently, physical button keys used in vehicles are also being replaced by touch keys.

[0007] Although touch keys are superior to physical button keys in terms of appearance and operation, they cause several problems as follows.

[0008] First, the risk of accidents may increase due to the driver's distraction from touch operation.

[0009] Second, the risk of accidents may increase due to mis-touches caused by body vibrations while driving.

[0010] Third, there is a high possibility of interference and errors in key touch when operating the dial knob. Prior art literature

[0016] The above safety doubling type cover lens module may further include a touch pattern part provided on one side of the cover lens and having a touch pattern that transmits a touch input signal to the touch sensor film module when the menu pattern is touched.

[0017] The above safety doubling type cover lens module may further include a force pattern portion having a force pattern provided on one side of the cover lens adjacent to the touch pattern portion and transmitting a force input signal to the touch sensor film module when a predetermined force is applied to a menu pattern on the cover lens.

[0018] The force pattern can be arranged along the outer perimeter of the touch pattern.

[0019] The above force pattern can form a loop shape with one side open.

[0020] A gap may be formed between the touch pattern and the force pattern so that the touch pattern and the force pattern are not connected.

[0021] The touch pattern and the force pattern can be integrally formed as a single layer on one surface of the cover lens.

[0022] The above safety doubling type cover lens module may further include a common FPCB (Flexible Printed Circuit Board) that is commonly connected to the touch pattern of the touch pattern part and the force pattern of the force pattern part, and selectively transmits the touch input signal and the force input signal in common.

[0035] In order to fully understand the present invention, the operational advantages of the present invention, and the objectives achieved by the implementation of the present invention, reference must be made to the accompanying drawings illustrating preferred embodiments of the present invention and the contents described therein.

[0036] The present invention will be described in detail below by explaining preferred embodiments of the invention with reference to the accompanying drawings. Identical reference numerals in each drawing indicate identical components.

[0037] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a vehicle safety touch display device according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is an exploded perspective view of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 is an enlarged perspective view of a safety doubling cover lens module shown in FIG. 2, FIG. 4 is a rear perspective view of FIG. 3, FIG. 5 is a plan view of FIG. 4, FIG. 6 is a schematic cross-sectional structural diagram according to the assembly state of FIG. 2, FIG. 7 is a schematic connection structural diagram of a common FPCB, FIG. 8 is a control block diagram of a vehicle safety touch display device according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 9 is a control flow diagram of a vehicle safety touch display device according to an embodiment of the present invention.

[0038] Referring to these drawings, a vehicle safety touch display device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention can significantly reduce the risk of accidents caused by the occurrence of a miss touch and the occurrence of interference and errors from a key touch compared to conventional devices, and above all, can ensure the safety of the driver through the expanded application of touch technology for automotive electronics.

[0039] A vehicle safety touch display device (100) according to one embodiment of the present invention capable of providing such effects may have a modular structure, for example, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, and has a structure in which a touch sensor film module (120) and a safety doubling cover lens module (130) are combined in a set case (110) according to their positions. As described above, the vehicle safety touch display device (100) according to this embodiment can be applied to a vehicle. The type of vehicle is irrelevant.

[0040] The set case (110) is an exterior structure of the vehicle safety touch display device (100) according to the present embodiment. It can be installed on the dashboard of a vehicle, etc. For a neat exterior structure, the set case (110) can be installed so as to be embedded in a certain location on the dashboard of a vehicle, etc.

[0041] A unit placement groove (111) is formed within a set case (110) that has been injection-molded in a block structure. A conductive polymer unit (115) can be combined, i.e., placed, in a manner that allows it to be housed in the unit placement groove (111). Accordingly, the overall thickness of the vehicle safety touch display device (100) can be reduced, and the device can be made slimmer. At this time, a portion of the conductive polymer unit (115) is placed so that it is exposed to the outside of the unit placement groove (111). Accordingly, signal transmission failures can be reduced.

[0042] The touch sensor film module (120) is a touch-type operating module and is assembled in a manner that is stored and inserted into the unit placement groove (111) of the set case (110) as described above. A safety-enhancing cover lens module (130) is assembled on the touch sensor film module (120).

[0043] At this time, the touch sensor film module (120) and the safety-enhancing cover lens module (130) can be attached via an optical adhesive film (114, OCA, Optically Clear Adhesive). The optical adhesive film (114) is a film that, in addition to the function of attaching the touch sensor film module (120) and the safety-enhancing cover lens module (130), also performs the function of improving the visibility of light and eliminating light distortion.

[0044] Meanwhile, the safety doubling cover lens module (130) is a modular component placed on one side of the touch sensor film module (120).

[0045] The safety doubling cover lens module (130) protects the touch sensor film module (120) while inputting a touch signal to the touch sensor film module (120). This safety doubling cover lens module (130) may include a cover lens (140), a touch pattern portion (150) and a force pattern portion (160) formed on the cover lens (140).

[0046] The cover lens (140) is an external structure of the safety-enhancing cover lens module (130) and protects the touch sensor film module (120).

[0047] The cover lens (140) may include a transparent window (141, window) that forms the center and is formed transparently, and an opaque window (142) that forms around the transparent window (141) and is formed opaquely.

[0048] A touch pattern (151) of the touch pattern portion (150) may be exposed on a transparent window (141). Additionally, a plurality of menu patterns (143) are formed on an opaque window (142). The opacity of the opaque window (142) may include translucency. The menu patterns (143) include various specific icons for operating the vehicle.

[0049] A plurality of circular holes (H) may be formed on both sides of the cover lens (140). A dial knob required for the vehicle may be placed in the circular holes (H), and in the case of this embodiment, there is no possibility of interference or error of key touch even when such a dial knob is operated.

[0050] Meanwhile, in this embodiment, the menu pattern (143) is applied as a structure that is recessed or protruding from the surface to enhance driver safety. In this embodiment, the menu pattern (143) may be an engraved menu pattern (143) processed in the form of an intaglio on the cover lens (140). At this time, the engraved menu pattern (143) may be arranged in multiple numbers having different functions.

[0051] Of course, for the convenience of processing, it may be advantageous to process the menu pattern (143) in an intaglio form, but depending on the situation, the menu pattern (143) may be in a relief form. Therefore, the scope of the rights of the present invention is not limited to the intaglio or relief form. However, as previously mentioned, the menu pattern (143) will be described below as an intaglio-processed menu pattern (143).

[0052] Since the vehicle safety touch display device (100) according to the present embodiment is applied to a vehicle, the engraved menu patterns (143) formed on the opaque window (142) of the cover lens (140) are various engraved vehicle menu patterns (143, car menu pattern) related to the operation, movement, and function of the vehicle (car). That is, they are engraved vehicle menu patterns (143) such as heating element patterns and air conditioning patterns. Therefore, the user can operate the desired pattern (143) among the engraved menu patterns (143) on the cover lens (140) by touching it.

[0053] A touch pattern portion (150) and a force pattern portion (160) are integrally formed on the cover lens (140). The touch pattern portion (150) and the force pattern portion (160) can be integrally formed on the cover lens (140).

[0054] At this time, the method of forming the touch pattern portion (150) and the force pattern portion (160) may be a deposition method (type) or a printing method (type). Of course, other methods other than the deposition method (type) and the printing method (type) may also be used. Therefore, the scope of the rights of the present invention is not limited to these methods (type).

[0055] The touch pattern portion (150) is provided on one side of the cover lens (140) facing the touch sensor film module (120), and has a touch pattern (151, touch pattern) that transmits a touch input signal to the touch sensor film module (120) when the engraved menu pattern (143) on the cover lens (140) is touched.

[0056] And, the force pattern portion (160) is provided on one side of the cover lens (140) adjacent to the touch pattern portion (150), and has a force pattern (161, force pattern) that transmits a force input signal to the touch sensor film module (120) when a predetermined force is applied to the intaglio processing type menu pattern (143) on the cover lens (140).

[0057] When the touch pattern (151) of the touch pattern part (150) and the force pattern (161) of the force pattern part (160) are integrally formed on the cover lens (140) of the vehicle safety touch display device (100) as in this embodiment, it is possible to prevent the vehicle safety touch display device (100) from operating due to unintended touch operation. In other words, the engraved menu pattern (143) on the vehicle safety touch display device (100) can be executed only when a certain amount of force is applied.

[0058] To elaborate, in the present embodiment, the engraved menu pattern (143) is not executed by lightly touching the engraved menu pattern (143). That is, after the engraved menu pattern (143) is touched once, the touch pattern (151) of the touch pattern section (150) is driven once, and then the force pattern (161) of the force pattern section (160) is driven twice, thereby enabling the engraved menu pattern (143) to be executed. In other words, as mentioned above, the engraved menu pattern (143) is not executed by lightly touching the engraved menu pattern (143). Therefore, it is possible to prevent the vehicle safety touch display device (100) from being driven or activated by unintended touch actions.

[0059] In particular, in the case of this embodiment, unlike the prior art, the touch pattern (151) of the touch pattern section (150) and the force pattern (161) of the force pattern section (160) are patterned integrally on the cover lens (140), so there is no need to adopt a separated structure as in the prior art. Therefore, it can contribute to making the device slimmer, and there is an advantage that the force sensitivity is significantly higher than in the prior art. Furthermore, as described below, since a common FPCB (170, Flexible Printed Circuit Boards) can be applied, it can contribute to reducing material and manufacturing costs with a simple structure.

[0060] First, regarding the touch pattern section (150), the touch pattern section (150) is provided on one side of the cover lens (140) facing the touch sensor film module (120) in this embodiment, and is equipped with a touch pattern (151) that transmits a touch input signal to the touch sensor film module (120) when the engraved menu pattern (143) on the cover lens (140) is touched. The touch pattern (151) has a wider range than the force pattern (161) of the force pattern section (160).

[0061] In this embodiment, the touch pattern section (150) adopts an electrostatic touch method. Electrostatic touch is a technology that operates by recognizing a change in capacitance generated on the hand when it makes contact as shown in FIG. 7. In other words, since the human body is a conductor, when the engraved menu pattern (143) of the cover lens (140) is touched with a finger, the electrostatic field of the cover lens (140) changes, and then the processor of the device detects the location of this change.

[0062] In this way, when the touch pattern part (150) is applied in a capacitive manner, a cover lens (140) made of reinforced glass can be used as in this embodiment, which has the advantage of having fewer scratches and a clearer view of the screen. The capacitive method is a method that recognizes and reacts to static electricity flowing through the fingertip, and has the advantage of being very fast.

[0063] Next, the force pattern portion (160) is provided on one side of the cover lens (140) adjacent to the touch pattern portion (150) and has a force pattern (161) that transmits a force input signal to the touch sensor film module (120) when a predetermined force is applied to the intaglio processing menu pattern (143) on the cover lens (140). This force pattern portion (160) transmits a substantial force input signal together with the conductive polymer unit (115).

[0064] In this embodiment, the force pattern (161) is arranged along the outer perimeter of the touch pattern (151). At this time, the force pattern (161) forms a loop shape with one side open. This is because the common FPCB (170) is placed here and the touch pattern (151) and the force pattern (161) must be connected to the common FPCB (170).

[0065] When forming a force pattern (161) on one side of the cover lens (140), the touch pattern (151) and the force pattern (161) must not be connected. To this end, a gap (G) is formed between the touch pattern (151) and the force pattern (161).

[0066] For reference, in the present embodiment, a touch pattern (151) is formed broadly at the center of one side of the cover lens (140), and a force pattern (161) is formed around it. However, unlike the drawing, if an empty space can be formed inside the touch pattern (151), it is acceptable to form the force pattern (161) therein. In other words, the scope of the present invention is not limited to the shape of the drawing.

[0067] As repeatedly explained, in this embodiment, the touch pattern (151) and the force pattern (161) are integrally formed on the cover lens (140). At this time, the touch pattern (151) and the force pattern (161) can be formed as a single layer on one surface of the cover lens (140) by a deposition process and can be connected to a common FPCB (170).

[0068] A conductive polymer unit (115) is placed between the set case (110) and the safety-enhancing cover lens module (130). This conductive polymer unit (115) can be arranged in a strip shape along the outer perimeter of the set case (110) to correspond to a force pattern (161) formed on the cover lens (140), and has a certain elasticity. Accordingly, when the engraved menu pattern (143) of the cover lens (140) is pressed (pressed) as in FIG. 7, the elastic conductive polymer unit (115) is also pressed. At this time, the strength or degree of the force or pressure applied to the cover lens (140) can be detected based on information regarding the change in the area of the conductive polymer unit (115) or the change in distance from the force pattern (161).

[0069] Meanwhile, as described above, in the case of this embodiment, unlike the prior art, the touch pattern (151) of the touch pattern part (150) and the force pattern (161) of the force pattern part (160) are patterned integrally on the cover lens (140), so there is no need to adopt a separated structure as in the prior art. Therefore, it can contribute to making the device slimmer, and there is an advantage that the force sensitivity is significantly higher than in the prior art.

[0070] In addition, unlike conventional methods, a common FPCB (170, Flexible Printed Circuit Boards) can be applied. The common FPCB (170) is connected in common to the touch pattern (151) of the touch pattern section (150) and the force pattern (161) of the force pattern section (160), and serves to select and transmit touch input signals and force input signals in common.

[0071] This common FPCB (170) is configured to extend outward from the cover lens (140) while connected to the touch pattern (151) of the touch pattern section (150) and the force pattern (161) of the force pattern section (160). That is, one end of the common FPCB (170) is connected to the metal layer of the touch pattern (151) and the force pattern (161), and the other end is configured to extend outward from the cover lens (140) and is connected to the controller (190) of the device.

[0072] In addition to this common FPCB (170), the vehicle safety touch display device (100) of the present embodiment is further equipped with a vibration generating module (180) and a controller (190).

[0073] The vibration generating module (180) is coupled to one side of the set case (110) and is a type of actuator that generates vibration when a touch signal is input.

[0074] And, the controller (190) controls the execution of the corresponding menu pattern based on a touch input signal or force input signal transmitted through the common FPCB (170), and automatically controls the operation of the vibration generating module (180) so that vibration feedback is automatically formed when the engraved processing menu pattern (143) is executed. The controller (190) performing this role may include a central processing unit (191, CPU), a memory (192, MEMORY), and a support circuit (193, SUPPORT CIRCUIT).

[0075] The central processing unit (191) may be one of various computer processors that can be industrially applied to control the execution of a menu pattern based on a touch input signal or force input signal transmitted through the common FPCB (170) in this embodiment, and to automatically control the operation of a vibration generating module (180) so that vibration feedback is automatically formed when the engraved processing menu pattern (143) is executed.

[0076] The memory (192, MEMORY) is connected to the central processing unit (191). The memory (192) may be installed locally or remotely as a computer-readable recording medium and may be at least one memory that is readily available, such as random access memory (RAM), ROM, a floppy disk, a hard disk, or any digital storage format.

[0077] A support circuit (193) is coupled with a central processing unit (191) to support typical operation of the processor. This support circuit (193) may include a cache, power supply, clock circuit, input / output circuit, subsystem, etc.

[0078] In this embodiment, the controller (190) controls the execution of a corresponding menu pattern based on a touch input signal or force input signal transmitted through a common FPCB (170), and automatically controls the operation of a vibration generating module (180) so that vibration feedback is automatically formed when an engraved menu pattern (143) is executed, and such a series of control processes can be stored in memory (192). Typically, a software routine can be stored in memory (192). The software routine can also be stored or executed by another central processing unit (not shown).

[0079] Although the process according to the present invention has been described as being executed by software routines, at least some of the processes of the present invention may also be performed by hardware. As such, the processes of the present invention may be implemented by software executed on a computer system, by hardware such as an integrated circuit, or by a combination of software and hardware.

[0080] Hereinafter, the operation of the vehicle safety touch display device (100) according to the present embodiment will be explained with reference to FIGS. 8 and 9.

[0081] First, assuming that you want to execute, for example, an air conditioner menu among the engraved menu patterns (143), check the location of the engraved menu pattern (143) of the air conditioner menu (S11). Since the menu pattern (143) is engraved, there is no difficulty in checking the location.

[0082] Then, UI coordinates are recognized and selected using Cap touch (S12). In other words, the engraved menu pattern (143) corresponding to the air conditioner menu is touched first. Then, detailed pattern patterns below it, such as temperature selection, time, intensity, etc., appear, and in this state, the actual menu can be executed using Force touch (S13). When the actual menu is executed, vibration feedback is automatically generated (S14).

[0083] According to the present embodiment, which operates with the structure described above, the risk of accidents caused by miss touches and the occurrence of interference and errors in key touches can be significantly reduced compared to conventional methods, and above all, driver safety can be ensured through the expanded application of touch for automotive electronics.

[0084] The effects of this embodiment are explained further.

[0085] First, it can provide safety from the user's perspective, that is, the driver's. It is safe because the location of the button can be provided by touch alone while driving.

[0086] Second, it can provide convenience from the user's (driver's) perspective. In other words, unnecessary miss touches can be prevented by applying the force function.

[0087] Third, it can be applied to various applications. That is, it can be applied to HVAC, AVN, window push buttons, etc.

[0088] FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional structural diagram of a safety touch display device for a vehicle according to another embodiment of the present invention.

[0089] Referring to this drawing, the vehicle safety touch display device (200) according to the present embodiment has the same function and effect as the previously described embodiment in terms of structure and configuration. Therefore, redundant description is omitted.

[0090] However, in the case of the present embodiment, an anti-scattering film (240, ASF) may be further attached to the cover lens (140).

[0091] As such, the present invention is not limited to the described embodiments, and it is obvious to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, such modifications or variations should be deemed to fall within the scope of the claims of the present invention. Explanation of the symbols
