Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a display device, and more specifically, to a display device equipped with a camera. Background Technology
[0002] In the recent information society, the importance of display devices as a medium for transmitting visual information is being increasingly emphasized, and in order to occupy a major position in the future, they must satisfy requirements such as low power consumption, thinness, lightness, and high image quality.
[0003] Displays can be divided into emissive types that emit light themselves, such as Cathode Ray Tubes (CRT), Electro Luminescence (EL), Light Emitting Diodes (LED), Vacuum Fluorescent Displays (VFD), Field Emission Displays (FED), and Plasma Display Panels (PDP), and non-emissive types that do not emit light themselves, such as Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs).
[0004] Among these various displays, liquid crystal displays are devices that represent images by utilizing the optical anisotropy of liquid crystals; they are gaining popularity as displays because they offer superior visibility compared to conventional cathode ray tubes, and not only do they consume less average power but also generate less heat compared to cathode ray tubes of the same screen size.
[0005] Such liquid crystal display devices can create images by placing a light source below the liquid crystal and controlling the arrangement of the liquid crystal by applying an electric field to the liquid crystal, thereby controlling the transmittance of light generated from the light source. Liquid crystal display devices are applied to various electronic devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs. In particular, the liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal panel placed below the cover glass, a backlight unit placed below the liquid crystal panel, and a cover bottom that houses or supports the liquid crystal panel or the backlight unit.
[0006] Recently, as displays have moved toward thin slim bezels and ultra-thin displays, the demand for thin and light display devices is increasing.
[0007] Recently, display devices in mobile devices and the like have gone beyond slim bezels to implement narrow bezels, which reduce the bezel width as thin as possible to maximize the visible area of the liquid crystal panel within the device.
[0008] However, when the liquid crystal panel is extended to the front of the device to implement a narrow bezel in a display equipped with a camera, it may extend into the area where the camera is installed. In this case, the liquid crystal panel, polarizer, and backlight unit in the camera hole area where the camera is installed must have through-holes or be configured to be transparent. The problem to be solved
[0009] The present invention aims to provide a display device capable of suppressing light leakage and the ingress of foreign substances occurring from the camera hole area in a narrow bezel display equipped with a camera. means of solving the problem
[0010] To solve the above problems, the present invention provides a display device comprising: a liquid crystal panel having a transparent portion; a lower polarizing plate disposed below the liquid crystal panel; an optical sheet disposed below the lower polarizing plate; a light guide plate disposed below the optical sheet; a reflector disposed below the light guide plate; a cover bottom disposed below the reflector; a camera hole formed through the lower polarizing plate, the optical sheet, the light guide plate, the reflector, and the cover bottom, and located below the transparent portion; a camera inserted into the camera hole; and a light-blocking tape attached to the lower polarizing plate and the liquid crystal panel located in the upper side area of the camera hole to prevent light leakage.

[0016] The above bottom joint can be joined to the side of the cover bottom.
[0017] The above insert mold can be manufactured integrally with the above cover bottom.
[0018] Meanwhile, the present invention provides a display device comprising: an upper polarizer; a liquid crystal panel disposed below the upper polarizer; a lower polarizer disposed below the liquid crystal panel; an optical sheet disposed below the lower polarizer; a light guide plate disposed below the optical sheet; a reflector disposed below the light guide plate; a cover bottom disposed below the reflector; a camera hole formed through the upper polarizer, the liquid crystal panel, the lower polarizer, the optical sheet, the light guide plate, the reflector, and the cover bottom; a camera inserted into the camera hole; a light-blocking tape disposed in an upper side area of the camera hole; and an insert mold coupled to the cover bottom and inserted into the camera hole.
[0019] The insert mold may include a bottom coupling portion coupled to the cover bottom; an upper support portion supporting the light-blocking tape; and a side connecting portion connecting the bottom coupling portion and the upper support portion.

Specific details for implementing the invention
[0033] The embodiments will become apparent below through the attached drawings and the description of the embodiments. In the description of the embodiments, where each layer (film), region, pattern, or structure is described as being formed "on" or "under" of the substrate, each layer (film), region, pad, or pattern, "on" and "under" include both being formed "directly" and "indirectly" through another layer. Furthermore, the reference for the "on" or "under" of each layer is described based on the drawings.
[0034] In the drawings, dimensions are exaggerated, omitted, or schematically depicted for convenience and clarity of explanation. Additionally, the dimensions of each component do not fully reflect their actual dimensions. Furthermore, identical reference numerals indicate identical elements throughout the description of the drawings. Hereinafter, embodiments are described with reference to the attached drawings.
[0035] FIG. 1 is (a) a front view and (b) a front view of a device of a display equipped with a camera of an embodiment with the cover glass and upper cover removed, and FIG. 2 is a perspective view cut into the AA area of FIG. 1.
[0036] Referring to FIG. 1, the display device (1) of the embodiment is equipped with a camera (2) on the front and implements a narrow bezel in which the width of the bezel is reduced as thin as possible to maximize the visible area of the liquid crystal panel (200) covered with a cover glass (10).
[0037] The cover glass (10) may be provided with a protective film (not shown) on its upper surface. Additionally, the cover glass (10) may be provided with a touch panel (not shown). This touch panel may be applied in a pressure-sensitive type, in which a dense array of sensor lines responding to pressure applied to the surface is installed to determine the location as coordinates when pressure is applied, and in a capacitive type, in which a charge is charged on the surface of the cover glass (10), sensors are installed around it, and the degree of charge loss upon contact is detected to determine where contact is made.
[0038] Below the cover glass (10), an upper polarizing plate (110) is positioned as shown in (b) of FIG. 1, and a through hole (H) is formed in the upper polarizing plate (110) for the operation of the camera (2).
[0039] As shown in FIG. 2, the through hole (H) formed in the upper polarizer (110) may have a position and size corresponding to the camera hole (CH) where a camera (not shown in FIG. 2) is installed.
[0040] A liquid crystal panel (200) is located between the through hole (H) and the camera hole (CH), and the liquid crystal panel (200) may have a transparent portion (230) located between the through hole (H) and the camera hole (CH).
[0041] The liquid crystal panel (200) outputs an image with pixels arranged in a matrix form and includes a color filter substrate (210) bonded so that a uniform cell gap is maintained facing each other, an array substrate (220), and a liquid layer (not shown) in which a cell gap is formed between the color filter substrate (210) and the array substrate (220).
[0042] The color filter substrate (210) may be composed of a color filter consisting of a plurality of sub-color filters that implement red, green, and blue (RGB) colors, a black matrix that separates the sub-color filters and blocks light passing through the liquid crystal layer, and an overcoat layer formed on the color filter and the black matrix.
[0043] Gate lines and data lines are formed on the array substrate (220) in a vertical and horizontal arrangement to define pixel regions, and thin film transistors (TFTs), which are switching elements, are formed in the intersection regions of the gate lines and data lines. The thin film transistor consists of a gate electrode connected to the gate line, a source electrode connected to the data line, and a drain electrode connected to the pixel electrode.
[0044] In a liquid crystal panel (200) in which a color filter substrate (210) and an array substrate (220) are bonded, a common electrode and a pixel electrode are formed to apply an electric field to the liquid crystal layer, and the voltage of a data signal applied to the pixel electrode can be controlled while voltage is applied to the common electrode. Then, the liquid crystal in the liquid crystal layer rotates due to dielectric anisotropy according to the electric field between the common electrode and the pixel electrode, thereby transmitting or blocking light for each pixel to display characters or images. At this time, in order to control the voltage of the data signal applied to the pixel electrode for each pixel, a switching element such as a thin-film transistor is individually provided in each pixel.
[0045] The transparent portion (230) may have a shape and size corresponding to the camera hole (CH) and the through hole (H), and may maintain a transparent state so that the camera (2) can take a picture. For example, the transparent portion (230) can control a portion of the liquid crystal panel (200) to be transparent by adjusting the sub-filter of the color filter substrate (210) layer.
[0046] Polarizing plates (110, 120) may be attached to the outer upper and lower sides of the color filter substrate (210) and the array substrate (220), respectively. At this time, the lower polarizing plate (120) polarizes light passing through the backlight unit (300) toward the array substrate (220), and the upper polarizing plate (110) polarizes light passing through the liquid crystal panel (200).
[0047] The backlight unit (300) may include a light guide plate (320) disposed below the liquid crystal panel (200), a plurality of optical sheets (310) that improve the efficiency of light emitted from the light guide plate (320) and irradiate it onto the liquid crystal panel (200), and a reflector (330).
[0048] The light guide plate (320) receives light from a light source (not shown) and guides this light toward the liquid crystal panel (200). The light guide plate (320) may be made of a plastic material such as polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) or polycarbonate (PC).
[0049] The optical sheet (310) includes a diffusion sheet and a prism sheet, and a brightness enhancing film such as DBEF and a protective sheet may be added. The optical sheet (310) may be provided between the upper surface of the light guide plate (320) and the rear surface of the liquid crystal panel (200).
[0050] The reflector (330) is positioned between the cover bottom (400) and the back surface of the light guide plate (320). The reflector (330) reflects light emitted from a light source and light reflected from the light guide plate (320) toward the liquid crystal panel (200). Light emitted from the light source is incident on the side of the light guide plate (320) made of a transparent material, and the reflector (330), which is positioned on the back surface of the light guide plate (320), reflects the light transmitted through the back surface of the light guide plate (320) toward the optical sheet (310) on the upper surface of the light guide plate (320), thereby reducing light loss and improving the uniformity of brightness.
[0051] The backlight unit (300) including the above-described configuration is housed inside the cover bottom (400). The backlight unit (300) is not limited to the above-described structure, and any backlight unit (300) of any structure can be applied to the display device (1) according to the present invention.
[0052] The cover bottom (400) can house the backlight unit (300) and the guide panel inside and support the liquid crystal panel (200) described above. For example, the cover bottom (400) may be structured to consist only of a bottom portion and a side portion to minimize the bezel area and achieve a slim profile. That is, the cover bottom (400) may include a bottom portion in the shape of a square plate and a side portion protruding upward at a certain height from one side of the bottom portion. Of course, the cover bottom (400) described above is merely illustrative and can be applied to the display device (1) of the present invention while having various shapes as described below.
[0053] In the display device (1) of the embodiment, a through hole (H) is formed in the upper polarizing plate (110), and a camera hole (CH) is formed through the backlight unit (300) and the cover bottom (400) to which a camera (2) is installed. The transparent part (230) of the liquid crystal panel (200) is located between the through hole (H) and the camera hole (CH).
[0054] Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view of region "B" in Figure 2, showing light leakage occurring from the camera hole region.
[0055] As illustrated in FIG. 3, the camera hole (CH) is formed through the backlight unit (300) and the cover bottom (400) described above. More specifically, the camera hole (CH) is formed through the lower polarizer (120), optical sheet (310), light guide plate (320), reflector (330), and cover bottom (400), and may be located below the transparent portion (230) of the liquid crystal panel (200). Unexplained reference numeral 315 is a diffuser and is a component of the backlight unit (300), so the camera hole (CH) is formed together with it.
[0056] A camera (2) is mounted inside the aforementioned camera hole (CH) and can operate to capture images or video from below the transparent part (230) of the liquid crystal panel (200).
[0057] However, there is a gap between the camera (2) and the camera hole (CH), and as shown by the arrow in FIG. 3, light leakage may occur in which light passing through the light guide plate (320) from the light source of the backlight unit (300) leaks out through the gap to the upper side of the transparent part (230) of the liquid crystal panel (200). This light leakage may be perceived as a viewing angle through the camera (2), thereby degrading the shooting quality of the camera (2) and causing problems that degrade the display performance.
[0058] In addition, foreign substances such as dust may enter through the camera hole (CH), potentially degrading display quality by causing smudging or blurring.
[0059] The present invention provides the following embodiments to prevent light leakage and the ingress of foreign substances around the camera hole (CH) that degrade display performance.
[0060] FIG. 4 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the camera hole area in the display device of the first embodiment.
[0061] Referring to FIG. 4, the display device (1) of the first embodiment is provided with a light-blocking tape (500) mounted inside the aforementioned camera hole (CH). The light-blocking tape (500) is attached to a lower polarizer (120) located in the upper side area of the camera hole (CH) and a liquid crystal panel (200) to prevent light leakage and the ingress of foreign substances.
[0062] For example, if the cross-section of the camera hole (CH) is circular, the light-blocking tape (500) may have a ring shape that forms a concentric circle around the camera hole (CH). The light-blocking tape (500) may be divided into a lower adhesive portion (510), an upper adhesive portion (530), and a blocking portion (520) depending on the area in which it is located. Additionally, the light-blocking tape (500) may have a color capable of blocking light (e.g., black) and may have adhesive applied to both sides.
[0063] The lower adhesive portion (510) is positioned between the lower polarizing plate (120) and the optical sheet (310) and can be fixed by being adhered to the lower polarizing plate (120) and the optical sheet (310). That is, the lower adhesive portion (510) may refer to the outermost perimeter area of the light-blocking tape (500).
[0064] The upper adhesive portion (530) is positioned between the liquid crystal panel (200) and the camera (2) and can be fixed by being adhered to the liquid crystal panel (200) and the camera (2). That is, the upper adhesive portion (530) may refer to the innermost perimeter area of the light-blocking tape (500).
[0065] The blocking part (520) connects the lower adhesive part (510) and the upper adhesive part (530) and can serve to cover the upper side area of the camera hole (CH) on which the camera (2) is mounted. That is, the blocking part (520) can serve as a barrier to prevent light from leaking out from the upper side of the camera hole (CH) and to block foreign substances from entering.
[0066] At this time, the upper adhesive portion (530) of the light-blocking tape (500) has a higher position than the lower adhesive portion (510), and the blocking portion (520) can be positioned at an angle. Of course, the shape of the light-blocking tape (500) and the position where it is attached can be modified as needed.
[0067] The display device of the first embodiment including such a configuration has the effect of preventing light leakage around the camera hole (CH) and the ingress of foreign substances that degrade display performance by using a light-blocking tape (500).
[0068] FIG. 5 is a schematic cutaway perspective view of the camera hole area of the display device of the second embodiment, and FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of the main part of FIG. 5.
[0069] Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6, the present embodiment may further include an insert mold (600) in addition to the light-blocking tape (500) of the previously described embodiment.
[0070] As described above, the light-blocking tape (500) is positioned on the upper side of the inner side of the camera hole (CH) to prevent light leakage and the entry of foreign substances.
[0071] The insert mold (600) is combined with the light-blocking tape (500) and the cover bottom (400) and inserted into the camera hole (CH) to further enhance the aforementioned effect. The insert mold (600) may be made of plastic resin or metal material.
[0072] The insert mold (600) may include a bottom joint (610), an upper support (630), and a side joint (620). The insert mold (600) may have a shape formed by combining various types of rings, and may have a cross-section shape close to a 'Z'.
[0073] The bottom connecting portion (610) forms a part that is connected to the cover bottom (400). For example, the bottom connecting portion (610) has a ring shape that forms the lower region of the insert mold (600), and its upper surface may come into contact with the lower surface of the cover bottom (400). That is, the bottom connecting portion (610) may be a ring shape having a horizontal plane that extends outwardly from the camera hole (CH) toward the cover bottom (400).
[0074] The upper support member (630) forms a portion that supports the light-blocking tape (500). For example, the upper support member (630) has a ring shape that forms the upper region of the insert mold (600), and the upper surface may come into contact with the lower surface of the light-blocking tape (500). That is, the upper support member (630) may be a ring shape having a horizontal plane that extends inward toward the center of the camera hole (CH).
[0075] The side connecting portion (620) forms a portion connecting the bottom connecting portion (610) and the upper supporting portion (630). For example, the side connecting portion (620) forms the side of the insert mold (600) and may have a ring shape. The side connecting portion (620) may be positioned vertically inside the camera hole (CH) so as to block the backlight unit (300), which includes the light guide plate (320), from the camera hole (CH).
[0076] That is, in this embodiment, since the light guide plate (320) and the camera hole (CH) can be blocked from each other through the insert mold (600), the light emitted from the light guide plate (320) can be blocked as shown by the arrow in FIG. 6, so that it does not enter the camera hole (CH).
[0077] The display device of the second embodiment including such a configuration has the effect of preventing light leakage around the camera hole (CH) and the ingress of foreign substances that degrade display performance more significantly by using a light-blocking tape (500) and an insert mold (600).
[0078] FIG. 7 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the camera hole area in the display device of the third embodiment. In this embodiment, the parts that differ from the previously described embodiment will be explained in detail.
[0079] Referring to FIG. 7, the display device of the third embodiment is similar to the second embodiment described above in that it is equipped with a light-blocking tape (500) and an insert mold (601).
[0080] However, there is a difference in that the bottom connecting portion (610) of the insert mold (600) in the second embodiment is located at the bottom of the cover bottom (400), whereas the bottom connecting portion (611) of the insert mold (601) in the present embodiment is connected to the side of the cover bottom (400).
[0081] Here, the insert mold (601) may be manufactured integrally with the cover bottom (400). That is, the insert mold (601) inserted into the camera hole (CH) may be implemented integrally with the cover bottom (400). That is, the insert mold (601) may be made of the same metallic material as the cover bottom (400).
[0082] In this case as well, the upper support portion (631) forms a part that supports the light-blocking tape (500), and the side connecting portion (621) forms a part that connects the bottom connecting portion (611) and the upper support portion (631).
[0083] In this embodiment as well, since the light guide plate (320) and the camera hole (CH) can be blocked through the insert mold (601), the light emitted from the light guide plate (320) can be blocked as shown by the arrow in FIG. 7, so that it does not enter the camera hole (CH).
[0084] The display device of the third embodiment, which includes such a configuration, has the effect of preventing light leakage around the camera hole (CH) and the ingress of foreign substances that degrade display performance more significantly by using a light-blocking tape (500) and an insert mold (601).
[0085] FIG. 8 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the camera hole area in the display device of the fourth embodiment. In this embodiment, the parts that differ from the previously described embodiment will be explained in detail.
[0086] In this embodiment, the camera hole (CH1) is formed deeper to penetrate the liquid crystal panel (200), which differs from the previously described embodiments. That is, instead of a transparent portion (230), a camera hole (CH1) is formed by perforating the color filter substrate (210) and the array substrate (220) of the liquid crystal panel (200).
[0087] Accordingly, the camera (2) is inserted up to the position of the camera hole (CH1) of the liquid crystal panel (200) and can be positioned up to the underside of the cover glass (not shown) located on the upper part of the liquid crystal panel (200).
[0088] In this embodiment, the insert mold (602) includes a bottom connecting portion (612) coupled to the cover bottom (400), an upper supporting portion (632) supporting the light-blocking tape (700), and a side connecting portion (622) connecting the bottom connecting portion (612) and the upper supporting portion (632).
[0089] Here, the light-blocking tape (700) differs from the light-blocking tape (500) of the previously described embodiment in that it is attached to a position extending from the upper part of the liquid crystal panel (200), that is, the color filter substrate (210), to the upper side of the camera (2). That is, the outermost region of the light-blocking tape (700) is in contact with the cover glass and the color filter substrate (210), and the innermost region is in contact with the cover glass, the upper support portion (632) of the insert mold (602), and the upper side of the camera (2).
[0090] Additionally, the upper support portion (632) of the insert mold (602) is positioned parallel to the color filter substrate (210) of the liquid crystal panel (200) so as to minimize encroachment on the area where the camera (2) is located, and may have the same thickness as the color filter substrate (210).
[0091] Additionally, the insert mold (602) may be formed integrally with the cover bottom (400) or manufactured separately and combined with each other.
[0092] The display device of the fourth embodiment, which includes such a configuration, has a display having a camera hole (CH1) extended to a liquid crystal panel (200), and has the effect of preventing light leakage around the camera hole (CH1) and the ingress of foreign substances by using a light-blocking tape (700) and an insert mold (602).
[0093] FIG. 9 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the camera hole area in the display device of the fifth embodiment. In this embodiment, the parts that differ from the aforementioned fourth embodiment will be described in detail.
[0094] In this embodiment as well, the camera hole (CH2) is formed deeper to penetrate the liquid crystal panel (200) and is similar in that it is equipped with a light-blocking tape (701) and an insert mold (603).
[0095] However, the light-blocking tape (701) differs from the light-blocking tape (700) of the aforementioned embodiment in that it is attached at a position extending from the upper part of the liquid crystal panel (200), that is, the color filter substrate (210), to the upper support part (633) of the insert mold (603). That is, the outermost region of the light-blocking tape (701) is in contact with the cover glass and the color filter substrate (210), and the innermost region is in contact with the cover glass and the upper support part (633) of the insert mold (603).
[0096] In addition, unlike the above-described embodiment, the insert mold (603) has a shape in which the cross-sectional area of the side extension (623) gradually increases from the bottom joint (613) to the upper support (633) and can protrude into the camera hole (CH2) area.
[0097] The shape of the insert mold (603) is shown as an example of being modified to correspond to the shape of the camera (2), and by making the upper region of the camera hole (CH2) form a narrower space than the lower region, a structure can be provided that more effectively prevents the inflow of foreign substances and light leakage.
[0098] The display device of the fifth embodiment, which includes such a configuration, has a display having a camera hole (CH2) extended to a liquid crystal panel (200), and has the effect of preventing light leakage around the camera hole (CH2) and the ingress of foreign substances by using a light-blocking tape (701) and an insert mold (603).
[0099] FIG. 10 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the camera hole area in the display device of the sixth embodiment. In this embodiment, the parts that differ from the previously described fifth embodiment will be explained in detail.
[0100] In this embodiment as well, the camera hole (CH3) is formed deeper to penetrate the liquid crystal panel (200), and the light-blocking tape (701) is attached in the same position as in the fifth embodiment.
[0101] However, unlike the previously described embodiment, the upper support portion (634) of the insert mold (604) has a thickness extending from the upper part of the light guide plate (320) to the liquid crystal panel (200). Additionally, there is a difference in that the upper support portion (634) protrudes inward toward the camera hole (CH3) area so that the cross-sectional area gradually increases toward the liquid crystal panel (200).
[0102] This shows another example in which the shape of the insert mold (604) is modified to correspond to the shape of the camera.
[0103] The display device of the sixth embodiment, which includes such a configuration, has a display having a camera hole (CH3) extended to a liquid crystal panel (200), and has the effect of preventing light leakage around the camera hole (CH3) and the ingress of foreign substances by using a light-blocking tape (701) and an insert mold (604).
[0104] FIG. 11 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the camera hole area in the display device of the seventh embodiment. In this embodiment, the parts that differ from the previously described sixth embodiment will be explained in detail.
[0105] In this embodiment as well, the camera hole (CH4) is formed deeper to penetrate the liquid crystal panel (200), and the light-blocking tape (701) is attached in the same position as in the sixth embodiment.
[0106] However, unlike the previously described embodiment, the upper support portion (635) of the insert mold (605) has a thickness extending from the lower polarizer (120) to the liquid crystal panel (200). Additionally, the upper support portion (635) differs from the side connection portion (625) in that it protrudes inward toward the camera hole (CH4) area.
[0107] This shows another example in which the shape of the insert mold (605) is modified to correspond to the shape of the camera.
[0108] The display device of the seventh embodiment, which includes such a configuration, has a display having a camera hole (CH4) extended to a liquid crystal panel (200), and has the effect of preventing light leakage around the camera hole (CH4) and the ingress of foreign substances by using a light-blocking tape (701) and an insert mold (605).
[0109] FIG. 12 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the camera hole area in the display device of the eighth embodiment. In this embodiment, the parts that differ from the previously described embodiments will be described in detail.
[0110] This embodiment is a case where, as in the first to third embodiments described above, a camera hole (CH) is not formed in the liquid crystal panel (200), and a transparent part (230) is formed.
[0111] However, unlike the first to third embodiments described above, this embodiment differs in that the insert mold (606) is inserted into the camera hole (CH) without using a light-blocking tape (500).
[0112] That is, as illustrated, the insert mold (606) may include a bottom coupling part (616) coupled to the lower part of the cover bottom (400), and a side extension part (626) that extends vertically from the bottom coupling part (616) and is inserted into the side of the camera hole (CH). However, since the present embodiment does not include a light-blocking tape (500), it may not include an upper support part (630~636) that supports the light-blocking tape (500).
[0113] The display device of the eighth embodiment including such a configuration has the effect of preventing light leakage around the camera hole (CH) and the ingress of foreign substances that degrade display performance by using an insert mold (606).
[0114] FIG. 13 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the camera hole area of the display device of the ninth embodiment, and FIG. 14 is a simulation result showing the distribution of light emission lines according to the inclination angle of the light guide plate (320) of FIG. 13. In this embodiment, the parts that differ from the previously described embodiment will be explained mainly.
[0115] This embodiment differs from the previously described embodiments in that it includes a light leakage blocking part (607) that blocks light leakage by cutting the side of the light guide plate (320) adjacent to the camera hole (CH) downward at a predetermined angle. That is, in this embodiment, the light-blocking tape (500, 700, 701) and insert mold (601~606) of the previously described embodiments are not used, and instead, a light leakage blocking part (607) is formed on the light guide plate (320).
[0116] The light leakage blocking part (607) has the characteristic of reflecting the light emitted from the light guide plate (320) by an inclined surface so that it is not exposed to the outside.
[0117] To this end, the above-mentioned predetermined angle may have an inclination angle (θ) formed on the upper side of the light guide plate (320) on a vertical line ranging from 30° to 60°, and a light leakage blocking part (607) may be formed by cutting the side of the light guide plate (320) at a predetermined angle.
[0118] Referring to FIG. 14, when the light guide plate (320) includes a cut surface with various sizes of inclination angles (θ), it can be seen that the distribution of light emission lines according to the inclination angle (θ) appears differently.
[0119] In other words, it can be seen that light leakage is least observed when the inclination angle (θ) is in the range of 30° to 60°. In addition, simulation experiment results show that the optimal effect is achieved when the inclination angle (θ) is 45°.
[0120] Here, the cover bottom (400) adjacent to the camera hole (CH) may have a width parallel to the lower surface of the light guide plate (320) forming the light leakage blocking portion (607). Of course, the reflector plate (330) located above the light guide plate (320) may also have the same width as the cover bottom (400).
[0121] In addition, although not illustrated in this embodiment including a light leakage blocking portion (607), it may further include a lower polarizing plate (120) located in the upper side area of the camera hole (CH) and a light-blocking tape (500) of the aforementioned embodiment attached to the liquid crystal panel (200) to prevent light leakage.
[0122] The display device of the ninth embodiment, including such a configuration, has the effect of preventing light leakage around the camera hole (CH) that degrades display performance by using a light leakage blocking part (607).
[0123] The display device according to the embodiment of the present invention described above can be applied to various electronic devices such as TVs, smartphones, and tablet PCs.
[0124] The features, structures, effects, etc. described in the embodiments above are included in at least one embodiment of the present invention and are not necessarily limited to only one embodiment. Furthermore, the features, structures, effects, etc. exemplified in each embodiment may be combined or modified and implemented in other embodiments by a person skilled in the art to which the embodiments belong. Therefore, details regarding such combinations and modifications should be interpreted as being included within the scope of the present invention. Explanation of the symbols
