[0099] A wireless connection between a base station (12) and a terminal (11) can be implemented through a wireless air interface. The implementation form of the network management device (13) is not limited to the embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0103] In the embodiments of the present application, the entities involved include, but are not limited to, user equipment (UE) such as a terminal supporting sidelink communication and a base station for cellular mobile communication.
[0104] An application scene of an embodiment of the present application is as follows: in the related technology, a core network transmits positioning assistance information to a base station via an NRPPa message, and then the base station transmits it to a UE via a system message. Specific steps are illustrated in FIG. 2.
[0105] Through the information transmission mechanism illustrated in Fig. 2, the network side can transmit positioning auxiliary information to the UE, and positioning auxiliary information is provided in some broadcasted system messages, and the positioning auxiliary information includes information related to PRS placement, which is used by the UE to perform positioning measurements.
[0106] Additionally, the UE can request a positioning system message via an on-demand method; if the UE is in a wireless resource control (RRC) connection state, it can make a request based on the System Information Block (SIB) type, and if the UE is in an RRC free or inactive state, it can make a request based on the System Information Message (SI Message), and then the network transmits the positioning system message in accordance with the UE's request.
[0107] The PRS placement method of R16 is static; when a UE has a positioning demand, the network side transmits a fixed PRS placement to the UE for use in positioning. The UE cannot satisfy different positioning demands.
[0108] As illustrated in FIG. 3, the present exemplary embodiment provides an information transmission method, and in a base station of a wireless communication system, the information transmission method may include steps 301 to 303.
[0109] Step 301, receive first request information having a recommended PRS placement.
[0110] Step 302, based on the recommended PRS placement above, determine the target PRS placement.
[0111] Step 303, using the target PRS placement above, transmit the PRS to the user device.
[0112] Wireless communication systems include, but are not limited to, 5G cellular mobile communication systems. User devices may include mobile phone terminals, etc.
[0113] In cellular mobile communication, a user device can be positioned based on a Positioning Reference Signal (PRS). The user device measures the Time of Arrival (TOA) of the PRS transmitted by multiple base stations, and can be positioned using a method such as triangulation positioning by using the difference in arrival times of the multiple PRSs and the arrival side of each PRS.
[0114] The first request information is transmitted by a user device and can be used to request system information, and the base station can transmit system information based on the content requested by the first request information. For example, the first request information can request system information used for positioning.
[0115] PRS deployment may include the PRS period, the bandwidth occupied by the PRS, and the number of transmission and reception points (TRPs).
[0116] The positioning precision obtained by positioning based on different PRS configurations differs. For example, the shorter the PRS period and / or the denser the frequency domain, the higher the positioning precision. The overhead of positioning based on different PRS configurations also differs; for example, the shorter the PRS period and / or the denser the frequency domain, the greater the overhead.
[0117] The recommended PRS placement may be a PRS placement determined by the user device regarding positioning precision and / or load, etc. The user device may determine the required positioning precision based on its positioning scene and, furthermore, determine the recommended PRS placement. Alternatively, the user device may determine the acceptable positioning overhead based on its load situation and, furthermore, determine the recommended PRS placement. Here, different positioning scenes have different requirements for positioning precision. For example, pedestrian navigation has a higher requirement for positioning precision than vehicle navigation. Thus, the user device can transmit the recommended PRS placement that satisfies the current positioning demand to the base station. The recommended PRS placement may be selected from a PRS placement agreed upon in advance by the base station and the user device, or it may be determined separately by the user device.
[0118] The target PRS placement may be the placement determined by the base station that is ultimately used to transmit the PRS. The base station may determine the target PRS placement based on the recommended PRS placement. The target PRS placement may be the same as or different from the recommended PRS placement.
[0119] The base station can determine the target PRS placement by pre-setting PRS placement decision rules. The recommended PRS placement can be determined as the target PRS placement, or a PRS placement close to the recommended PRS placement can be preferentially determined as the target PRS placement. In this way, the base station can determine the positioning needs of the user device regarding positioning precision, etc., based on the recommended PRS placement, and the target PRS placement selected by the base station can best satisfy the different positioning needs of the user device.
[0120] In one embodiment, a target PRS placement is determined based on the recommended PRS placement of a user device. On the one hand, reporting positioning needs through the recommended PRS placement is implemented, and since the base station can dynamically select the target PRS placement, dynamic selection of PRS placement is implemented, and flexibility in selecting PRS placement is improved. On the other hand, the user device reports the recommended PRS placement based on its own positioning needs. Since the base station determines the target PRS placement based on the recommended PRS placement of the user device, the positioning needs of the user device can be satisfied, and the adaptability of the PRS placement to the positioning scene can be improved.
[0121] In one embodiment, the information transmission method is,
[0122] The method further includes the step of transmitting system information, wherein the system information comprises one or more sets of preliminary PRS batches; and the user device selects the recommended PRS batch from one or more sets of preliminary PRS batches based on batch selection conditions.
[0123] A base station may pre-configure one or more sets of reserve PRS deployments based on at least one of its load conditions and the current network's support capabilities. Then, through system information, it transmits one or more sets of reserve PRS deployments to a user device. Different reserve PRS deployments may have different PRS cycles and / or bandwidths occupied by the PRSs and / or TRP quantities, etc.
[0124] The base station can transmit system information via broadcast. The base station can also unicast the system information to the user device via an RRC message based on a user's request.
[0125] After a user device receives one set or multiple sets of reserve PRS placements, if there is a positioning demand, it can select a recommended PRS placement from one set or multiple sets of reserve PRS placements and transmit it to a base station.
[0126] In one embodiment, placement selection conditions may be set according to positioning requirements. Positioning requirements may include different positioning precisions, etc. Different positioning precisions require different PRS placements.
[0127] In one embodiment, the base station determines the range of reserve PRS placements, and the user device selects from the range of reserve PRS placements, thereby reducing the situation where the user device blindly decides on a recommended PRS placement and improving the efficiency of determining the PRS placement.
[0128] In one embodiment, step 301 may include the step of receiving the first request information having a placement identifier of the recommended PRS placement.
[0129] The base station can identify the reserve PRS placements for each set. A unique placement identifier can be set for the reserve PRS placements for each set.
[0130] When a base station transmits a reserve PRS batch, it may simultaneously have a batch identifier for the reserve PRS batch.
[0131] For example, batch identifier 1 corresponds to a set of reserve PRS batches, including PRS period 1, PRS bandwidth 1, etc.
[0132] After the user device receives a reserve PRS batch and the batch identifier of each set of reserve PRS batches, it selects a recommended PRS batch from one or more sets of reserve PRS batches and transmits the recommended PRS batch. Here, the user device may transmit detailed batch information of the recommended PRS batch, such as the period, etc.; may simultaneously provide the recommended PRS batch; or may transmit only the batch identifier of the recommended PRS batch.
[0133] In one embodiment, if only the batch identifier of the recommended PRS batch is transmitted, the amount of data transmitted can be reduced to reduce overhead.
[0134] In one embodiment, the air interface downlink positioning reference signal auxiliary information of the air interface downlink measurement auxiliary information element of type 6-1 of the system information is provided with one or more sets of the aforementioned preliminary PRS placements.
[0135] The NR downlink measurement auxiliary information element (IE) of the positioning system's message type 6-1 (posSibType6-1): NR-DL-Measurement-AD, and the NR downlink positioning reference signal auxiliary information: nr-DL-PRS-AssistanceData may have one or multiple sets of spare PRS placements.
[0136] In one embodiment, the existing information is reused to provide a preliminary PRS batch, thereby improving the efficiency of using the existing information.
[0137] In one embodiment, the information transmission method is,
[0138] The method may further include the step of transmitting the target PRS placement to the user device in response to the first request information, and the target PRS placement is used to instruct the user device to receive the placement of the PRS.
[0139] If the base station has not transmitted a preliminary PRS deployment in advance, after the base station receives a recommended PRS deployment, the base station can determine a target PRS deployment in real time based on at least one of its own load conditions and the current network's support capabilities, and transmit it to a user device.
[0140] If the recommended PRS placement is selected by the user device from one or more sets of reserve PRS placements previously transmitted by the base station, after receiving the recommended PRS placement, the base station may select a target PRS placement from the reserve PRS placements that matches its load conditions and / or the current network's support capabilities. The target PRS placement may be the same as or different from the recommended PRS placement.
[0141] In response to the first request information being provided with a recommended PRS placement, the base station can determine a target PRS placement and then transmit the target PRS placement to a user device through a method such as providing the target PRS placement in RRC signaling.
[0142] After the user device receives the target PRS batch, it receives the PRS from the batch resources, such as the period and bandwidth indicated by the target PRS batch, according to the target PRS batch, and further implements positioning.
[0143] In one embodiment, the first request information is,
[0144] A first IE including the above recommended PRS placement; and
[0145] It may include a second IE that includes a request to trigger system information.
[0146] Here, the first IE is different from the second IE. The first IE may be a newly added IE, or, the first IE is an IE that has reserved bits excluding the second IE from the first request information and may have a recommended PRS placement.
[0147] The user device may have a recommended PRS batch by newly adding IE to the first request information. Here, the recommended PRS batch may also be characterized by a batch identifier.
[0148] For example, the user device may have a batch identifier of a recommended PRS batch by adding one IE to the first request information. For example, it has a set of PRS batches represented by a batch identifier (identifier 1), such as PRS period 1 and PRS bandwidth 1.
[0149] or,
[0150] The user device may have detailed deployment information for the recommended PRS deployment by adding one IE to the first request information. For example, a new IE is added, and said IE includes information such as the PRS period and PRS bandwidth.
[0151] Since the recommended PRS placement is provided in the newly added IE, the amount of information provided in the existing information can be improved, and the usage efficiency of the first request information can be improved.
[0152] In one embodiment, step 301 is,
[0153] The method may include the step of receiving the first request information having the recommended PRS batch transmitted by the user device via an on-demand method.
[0154] In one embodiment, the on-demand method may be a method of receiving one set or multiple sets of reserve PRS placements only when there is a positioning demand from a user device, selecting a recommended PRS placement from one set or multiple sets of reserve PRS placements, and transmitting it to a base station.
[0155] By using an on-demand method, the user device can perform one of receiving system information on the reserve PRS batch only when there is a demand, and interpreting the reserve PRS batch of system information, thereby saving overhead for the user device.
[0156] In one embodiment, the step of receiving the first request information having the recommended PRS placement transmitted by the user device via an on-demand method is:
[0157] A step of receiving a Dedicated SIB Request having the above recommended PRS placement; and
[0158] It includes one of the steps of: receiving a dedicated wireless resource control system request (RRCSystemInfoRequest) having the above recommended PRS arrangement.
[0159] If the user device is in an RRC connection state, the DedicatedSIBRequest message may be equipped with a recommended PRS placement.
[0160] If the user device is in an RRC connection state, the RRCSystemInfoRequest message may be provided with a recommended PRS placement.
[0161] In one embodiment, since the recommended PRS placement is provided for different messages, it can adapt to the state of different user devices. This improves the adaptability of the recommended PRS placement uplink.
[0162] As illustrated in FIG. 4, the present exemplary embodiment provides an information transmission method, and in a user device of a wireless communication system, the information transmission method may include steps 401 to 402.
[0163] Step 401, first request information having a recommended PRS placement is transmitted, and the recommended PRS placement is used by the base station to determine a target PRS placement.
[0164] Step 402, using the target PRS placement above, receive the PRS transmitted by the base station.
[0165] Wireless communication systems include, but are not limited to, 5G cellular mobile communication systems. User devices may include mobile phone terminals, etc.
[0166] In cellular mobile communication, a user device can be positioned based on a Positioning Reference Signal (PRS). The user device measures the Time of Arrival (TOA) of the PRS transmitted by multiple base stations, and can be positioned using a method such as triangulation positioning by using the difference in arrival times of the multiple PRSs and the arrival side of each PRS.
[0167] The first request information is transmitted by a user device and can be used to request system information, and the base station can transmit system information based on the content requested by the first request information. For example, the first request information can request system information used for positioning.
[0168] PRS deployment may include the PRS period, the bandwidth occupied by the PRS, and the number of transmission and reception points (TRPs).
[0169] The positioning precision obtained by positioning based on different PRS configurations differs. For example, the shorter the PRS period and / or the denser the frequency domain, the higher the positioning precision. The overhead of positioning based on different PRS configurations also differs; for example, the shorter the PRS period and / or the denser the frequency domain, the greater the overhead.
[0170] The recommended PRS placement may be a PRS placement determined by the user device regarding positioning precision and / or load, etc.
[0171] The target PRS placement may be the placement determined by the base station that is ultimately used to transmit the PRS. The base station may determine the target PRS placement based on the recommended PRS placement. The target PRS placement may be the same as or different from the recommended PRS placement.
[0172] The base station can determine the target PRS placement by pre-setting PRS placement decision rules.
[0173] In one embodiment, a target PRS placement is determined based on the recommended PRS placement of a user device.
[0174] In one embodiment, prior to step 401, the information transmission method is,
[0175] Step of receiving system information - said system information comprises one or more sets of reserve PRS batches -; and
[0176] The method may include the step of selecting the recommended PRS batch from one or more sets of the preliminary PRS batches based on batch selection conditions.
[0177] A base station may pre-configure one or more sets of reserve PRS deployments based on at least one of its load conditions and the current network's support capabilities. Then, through system information, it transmits one or more sets of reserve PRS deployments to a user device. Different reserve PRS deployments may have different PRS cycles and / or bandwidths occupied by the PRSs and / or TRP quantities, etc.
[0178] The base station can transmit system information via broadcast. The base station can also unicast the system information to the user device via an RRC message based on a user's request.
[0179] After a user device receives one set or multiple sets of reserve PRS placements, if there is a positioning demand, it can select a recommended PRS placement from one set or multiple sets of reserve PRS placements and transmit it to a base station.
[0180] In one embodiment, placement selection conditions may be set according to positioning requirements. Positioning requirements may include different positioning precisions, etc. Different positioning precisions require different PRS placements.
[0181] In one embodiment, the base station determines the range of reserve PRS placements, and the user device selects from the range of reserve PRS placements, thereby reducing the situation where the user device blindly decides on a recommended PRS placement and improving the efficiency of determining the PRS placement.
[0182] In one embodiment, step 401 is,
[0183] It may include the step of transmitting the first request information having a placement identifier of the recommended PRS placement above.
[0184] The base station can identify the reserve PRS placements for each set. A unique placement identifier can be set for the reserve PRS placements for each set.
[0185] When a base station transmits a reserve PRS batch, it may simultaneously have a batch identifier for the reserve PRS batch.
[0186] For example, batch identifier 1 corresponds to a set of reserve PRS batches, including PRS period 1, PRS bandwidth 1, etc.
[0187] After the user device receives a reserve PRS batch and the batch identifier of each set of reserve PRS batches, it selects a recommended PRS batch from one or more sets of reserve PRS batches and transmits the recommended PRS batch. Here, the user device may transmit detailed batch information of the recommended PRS batch, such as the period, etc.; may simultaneously provide the recommended PRS batch; or may transmit only the batch identifier of the recommended PRS batch.
[0188] In one embodiment, if only the batch identifier of the recommended PRS batch is transmitted, the amount of data transmitted can be reduced to reduce overhead.
[0189] In one embodiment, the air interface downlink positioning reference signal auxiliary information of the air interface downlink measurement auxiliary information element of type 6-1 of the system information is provided with one or more sets of the aforementioned preliminary PRS placements.
[0190] The NR downlink measurement auxiliary information element (IE) of the positioning system's message type 6-1 (posSibType6-1): NR-DL-Measurement-AD, and the NR downlink positioning reference signal auxiliary information: nr-DL-PRS-AssistanceData may have one or multiple sets of spare PRS placements.
[0191] In one embodiment, the existing information is reused to provide a preliminary PRS batch, thereby improving the efficiency of using the existing information.
[0192] In one embodiment, the information transmission method is,
[0193] In response to the failure to receive the above system information, the method may further include a step of determining a preset PRS placement as a recommended PRS placement.
[0194] If the system message transmitted by the base station does not include a reserve PRS placement, or if the base station does not broadcast the positioning system message currently required by the user device, the user device may directly transmit a recommended PRS placement according to different positioning needs.
[0195] The user device can set multiple preset PRS placements for different positioning needs, and if it does not receive system information containing reserve PRS placements, it selects one preset PRS placement from the multiple preset PRS placements and determines it as the recommended PRS placement.
[0196] In one embodiment, step 402 is,
[0197] The method may include the step of receiving the target PRS batch transmitted by the base station in response to the first request information, and receiving the PRS transmitted by the base station using the target PRS batch.
[0198] If the base station has not transmitted a preliminary PRS deployment in advance, after the base station receives a recommended PRS deployment, the base station can determine a target PRS deployment in real time based on at least one of its own load conditions and the current network's support capabilities, and transmit it to a user device.
[0199] If the recommended PRS placement is selected by the user device from one or more sets of reserve PRS placements previously transmitted by the base station, after receiving the recommended PRS placement, the base station may select a target PRS placement from the reserve PRS placements that matches its load conditions and / or the current network's support capabilities. The target PRS placement may be the same as or different from the recommended PRS placement.
[0200] In response to the first request information being provided with a recommended PRS placement, the base station can determine a target PRS placement and then transmit the target PRS placement to a user device through a method such as providing the target PRS placement in RRC signaling.
[0201] After the user device receives the target PRS batch, it receives the PRS from the batch resources, such as the period and bandwidth indicated by the target PRS batch, according to the target PRS batch, and further implements positioning.
[0202] In one embodiment, the positioning request message is,
[0203] A first IE including the above recommended PRS placement; and
[0204] Includes a second IE that includes a request to trigger system information.
[0205] In one embodiment, the first IE is different from the second IE. The first IE may be a newly added IE, or the first IE may be an IE that has a reserved bit excluding the second IE from the first request information and has a recommended PRS placement.
[0206] The user device may have a recommended PRS batch by newly adding IE to the first request information. Here, the recommended PRS batch may also be characterized by a batch identifier.
[0207] For example, the user device may have a batch identifier of a recommended PRS batch by adding one IE to the first request information. For example, it has a set of PRS batches represented by a batch identifier (identifier 1), such as PRS period 1 and PRS bandwidth 1.
[0208] or,
[0209] The user device may have detailed deployment information for the recommended PRS deployment by adding one IE to the first request information. For example, a new IE is added, and said IE includes information such as the PRS period and PRS bandwidth.
[0210] Since the recommended PRS placement is provided in the newly added IE, the amount of information provided in the existing information can be improved, and the usage efficiency of the first request information can be improved.
[0211] In one embodiment, step 401 is,
[0212] It may include the step of transmitting the first request information having the recommended PRS placement through an on-demand method.
[0213] In one embodiment, the on-demand method may be a method of receiving one set or multiple sets of reserve PRS placements only when there is a positioning demand from a user device, selecting a recommended PRS placement from one set or multiple sets of reserve PRS placements, and transmitting it to a base station.
[0214] By using an on-demand method, the user device can perform one of receiving system information on the reserve PRS batch only when there is a demand, and interpreting the reserve PRS batch of system information, thereby saving overhead for the user device.
[0215] In one embodiment, the step of transmitting the first request information having the recommended PRS placement through the on-demand method is,
[0216] The step of transmitting a dedicated system information block request (DedicatedSIBRequest) having the above recommended PRS placement; and
[0217] It includes one of the steps of: transmitting a dedicated wireless resource control system request (RRCSystemInfoRequest) having the above recommended PRS arrangement.
[0218] If the user device is in an RRC connection state, the DedicatedSIBRequest message may be equipped with a recommended PRS placement.
[0219] If the user device is in an RRC connection state, the RRCSystemInfoRequest message may be provided with a recommended PRS placement.
[0220] In one embodiment, since the recommended PRS placement is provided for different messages, it can adapt to the state of different user devices. This improves the adaptability of the recommended PRS placement uplink.
[0221] Hereinafter, specific examples are provided by combining any of the aforementioned embodiments.
[0222] A base station transmits a positioning system message required for the positioning of a user device, and said positioning system message includes placement information of a downlink positioning reference signal (PRS) currently applied to the network, and the network can support various reserve PRS placements.
[0223] A reserve PRS deployment represents different PRS deployments that the network can support to satisfy different positioning needs, such as different PRS periods, PRS bandwidths, and different TRP quantities. Specifically, each set of reserve PRS deployments can be identified, that is, each set of reserve PRS deployments has one deployment identifier. For example, identifier 1 corresponds to one set of reserve PRS deployments—RS period 1, PRS bandwidth 1. In the NR downlink positioning reference signal auxiliary information: nr-DL-PRS-AssistanceData of the NR downlink measurement assistant IE: NR-DL-Measurement-AD of the positioning system message type 6-1 (posSibType6-1), the network may have multiple sets of reserve PRS deployments that it can support.
[0224] When a user device requests a positioning system message via an on-demand method, the request message may include the user device's recommended PRS placement. The recommended PRS placement may include content such as PRS bandwidth and PRS period.
[0225] The recommended PRS placement for the user device may be one of multiple sets of reserve PRS placements broadcast by the base station; that is, the user device obtains the reserve PRS placements currently supported by the network through a positioning system message, and by combining the positioning type, positioning precision, and different positioning needs, selects and reports one set of recommended PRS placements from the multiple sets of reserve PRS placements supported by the network.
[0226] If the positioning system message does not include a reserve PRS placement that the network can support, or if the network has not broadcast the positioning system message currently required by the user device, the user device may directly transmit a recommended PRS placement according to different positioning needs.
[0227] When a user device transmits request information requesting a positioning system message, it can be implemented by adding one IE to the request information. Different values of the said IE correspond to a set of recommended PRS batches. For example, 01 corresponds to PRS period 1 and PRS bandwidth 1, which are a set of recommended PRS batches represented by identifier 1.
[0228] In situations where a placement identifier is not set, each placement of the recommended PRS must be clearly indicated when the user device requests a positioning system message. For example, a new IE is added, and said IE includes content such as the PRS period and PRS bandwidth.
[0229] For user devices in an RRC connected state, PRS placement can be recommended in the DedicatedSIBRequest message; for user devices in an RRC free or inactive state, PRS placement can be recommended in the RRCSystemInfoRequest message as an additional step.
[0230] After the network receives a positioning system message request transmitted from a user device, it can transmit an updated target PRS placement to the user device based on the user device's recommended PRS placement. The target PRS placement may be the same as or different from the recommended PRS placement.
