Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a method for collecting images, and more specifically, to an image collection method and apparatus for collecting images of a road where an abnormal object has been detected through a vehicle terminal. Background Technology
[0002] Roads serve as major routes for vehicle traffic and are essential infrastructure in modern society. Numerous CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) cameras are installed on these roads, and a central control room analyzes road footage from these cameras to identify traffic congestion and accidents.
[0003] Meanwhile, falling objects may be present on the road, which can lead to traffic accidents or congestion. To prevent such congestion and accidents caused by falling objects, the central control center detects a falling object on the road, assesses its condition, and dispatches a work vehicle capable of handling the object to the location.
[0004] However, identifying falling objects through CCTV footage is a manual analysis based on the manager's visual inspection; this presents a problem in that the condition of the falling object cannot be accurately determined if the video quality is blurry or the object is small, which can affect the rapid removal of the object. The problem to be solved
[0005] The present invention is proposed to solve these conventional problems and aims to provide a road image collection method and device that automatically identifies abnormal objects within a road, and collects road images through surrounding vehicle terminals when abnormal objects are not properly identified through camera images.
[0006] Other objects and advantages of the present invention may be understood from the following description and will become more clearly apparent from the embodiments of the present invention. Furthermore, it will be readily apparent that the objects and advantages of the present invention can be realized by the means and combinations thereof set forth in the claims. means of solving the problem
[0007] According to the first aspect of the present invention for achieving the above objective, a method for collecting road images captured by a vehicle terminal by controlling a base station in an image collection device comprises: receiving images from a camera installed on a road and analyzing the images to detect an abnormal object; identifying the location where the abnormal object is detected and obtaining traffic flow information at the location where the abnormal object is detected; predicting one or more beam areas that a vehicle must pass through to pass around the location where the abnormal object is detected based on the traffic flow information; controlling a base station to transmit a message requesting image transmission to the one or more predicted beam areas; and receiving images from one or more vehicle terminals that have received the message.
[0008] The step of predicting one or more beam areas can predict one or more beam areas that the vehicle must pass through based on the traffic light status after confirming the traffic light status at the location where the abnormal object is detected in the traffic flow information.
[0009] The step of transmitting the above message may include: a step of checking the vehicle speed in the traffic flow information and determining whether the vehicle speed exceeds a preset threshold speed; and, if the result of the determination is that the vehicle speed exceeds the threshold speed, a step of controlling the base station to expand the size of one or more predicted beam areas and transmitting a message requesting video transmission to the expanded beam area.
[0010] If the image of the camera is analyzed and the abnormal object is not identified, a message requesting image transmission to one or more predicted beam areas may be transmitted.
[0011] The above base station is a base station of a 5G mobile communication system to which Massive MIMO (Multiple-input and multiple-output) technology is applied, and can form multiple beam areas. In this case, the step of transmitting the message may transmit a message requesting video transmission using one or more predicted beam areas among the multiple beam areas formed by the base station.
[0012] Any one of the methods described above can be implemented as a computer program recorded on a computer-readable recording medium.
[0013] According to a second aspect of the present invention for achieving the above objective, an image collection device for collecting road images captured by a vehicle terminal by controlling a base station comprises: an image receiving unit that receives images from a camera installed on the road; an image analysis unit that analyzes the images received from the camera to detect an abnormal object and identifies the location where the abnormal object is detected; and an image collection control unit that obtains traffic flow information at the location where the abnormal object is detected, predicts one or more beam areas that a vehicle must pass through to pass around the location where the abnormal object is detected based on the traffic flow information, and then controls a base station to transmit a message requesting image transmission to the predicted one or more beam areas.
[0014] The above video receiving unit receives a video from one or more vehicle terminals that received the message. Effects of the invention
[0015] The present invention has the advantage of automatically identifying abnormal objects on a road by analyzing camera images, and, in cases where the abnormal object is not properly identified through the camera images, acquiring images of the area around the abnormal object through a vehicle terminal driving on the road and analyzing the acquired images to accurately identify the abnormal object.
[0016] In addition, the present invention has the advantage of being able to receive more accurate images from vehicle terminals passing near an abnormal object by identifying the base station beam area and road traffic flow around the abnormal object and selectively expanding the base station beam area according to the road traffic flow.
[0017] In addition, the present invention has the advantage of preventing base station overload that occurs during image collection by identifying the road flow around an abnormal object and then transmitting a message requesting image transmission only to vehicle terminals expected to pass around the abnormal object. [0019] The aforementioned objectives, features, and advantages will become clearer through the following detailed description in conjunction with the attached drawings, and accordingly, a person skilled in the art to which the present invention pertains will be able to easily implement the technical concept of the present invention. Furthermore, in describing the present invention, if it is determined that a detailed description of known technology related to the present invention may unnecessarily obscure the essence of the present invention, such detailed description will be omitted. Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the attached drawings.
[0021] FIG. 1 is a drawing showing a system for collecting and analyzing images according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0022] As illustrated in FIG. 1, a system according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a plurality of vehicle terminals (100-N), an image collection device (200), a plurality of base stations (300-N), a CCTV camera (400), and a traffic information server (500), and these components communicate with each other through a network (600). The network (600) includes a mobile communication network and a wired communication network.
[0023] A vehicle terminal (100-N) is a vehicle black box mounted on a vehicle that captures images of the vehicle's surroundings and can perform wireless communication directly or indirectly with a base station (300-N). When the vehicle terminal (100-N) receives a video request message from the base station (300-N), it captures images for a preset period of time and transmits the captured images to a video collection device (200).
[0024] The base station (300-N) is a device that forms service coverage in a mobile communication environment by utilizing Massive MIMO (Multiple-input and multiple-output) technology, such as 5th generation (5G) mobile communication, and performs beam scanning by sequentially beamforming multiple beams at different angles. Through beamforming, directivity in a specific direction increases, thereby improving the radio wave reach distance, and radio waves are hardly transmitted in directions other than the specific direction, so the impact on other terminals is significantly reduced. The base station (300-N) continuously transmits beam signals, and the beam signals include an index, a BRS (Beam Reference Signal), signal quality information (e.g., RSRP, RSRQ, RSSI, or SINR), and base station identification information. Here, the index indicates the order in which beams are transmitted from the base station (300-N). In addition, BRS refers to identification information for the beam signals transmitted from the base station (300-N). That is, the base station (300-N) forms a coverage consisting of multiple beam areas, and the BRS represents identification information of a beam signal to distinguish the multiple beam areas. The index is used to verify the transmission time at which the beam signal is transmitted, and the BRS is used to identify the beam area where the mobile terminal is located.
[0025] FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating an area formed by a beam signal transmitted from a base station, in which the base station forms a plurality of beam areas. Each beam area (i.e., a sub-coverage area formed by a beam signal) combines to determine the total coverage of the base station, and additionally, each beam area can be distinguished through a BRS.
[0027] Referring again to FIG. 1, the CCTV camera (400) is a camera capable of wired or wireless communication, and captures road images at designated locations and transmits them to the image collection device (200). The CCTV camera (400) can be installed and operated at each point on the road.
[0028] The traffic information server (500) checks the traffic flow of each road and transmits road-related information to the image collection device (200). The traffic information server (500) can obtain the location of the vehicle and the current driving status from the navigation system installed in each vehicle to calculate the average speed of each road. Alternatively, the traffic information server (500) can receive the vehicle speed from the information collection camera installed on each road and calculate the average of the vehicle speeds to determine the average speed for each road. In addition, the traffic information server (500) can check the location of each traffic light installed on the road and the current signal status of the traffic light (i.e., straight, left turn, stop, etc.).
[0029] The video collection device (200) analyzes the video received from the CCTV camera (400) and the vehicle terminal (100-N) to determine whether there are abnormal objects, such as falling objects, smoke, or fire, on the road. In particular, the video collection device (200) analyzes the video received from the CCTV camera (400) and, if an abnormal object is detected on the road but accurate identification of the abnormal object is impossible, transmits a video request message to one or more vehicle terminals (100-N) capable of photographing the abnormal object, and analyzes the video received from the vehicle terminal (100-N) to identify the abnormal object.
[0031] FIG. 3 is a diagram showing the configuration of an image acquisition device according to one embodiment of the present invention.
[0032] As illustrated in FIG. 3, an image acquisition device (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention includes an image receiving unit (210), an image analysis unit (220), an image acquisition control unit (230), and a database (240), and these components may be implemented in hardware or software, or through a combination of hardware and software.
[0033] Additionally, the image acquisition device (200) may include one or more processors and memory, and the image receiving unit (210), image analysis unit (220), and image acquisition control unit (230) may be loaded into the memory in the form of a program executed by the processor. In another embodiment, the image acquisition device (200) may be loaded into a cloud computing system in the form of a virtual machine.
[0034] The database (240) is a large-capacity storage means, such as a disk device, and stores location information for each beam area formed by the base station (300-N). As location information for the beam area, coordinate and range information may be stored. Additionally, the database (240) stores identification information (i.e., BRS) of the beam area and the beam signal transmitted to the corresponding beam area by mapping them. Furthermore, the database (240) stores image data for one or more abnormal objects. The abnormal objects may be image data for smoke, falling objects, fire, etc. Moreover, the database (240) stores location information where each CCTV camera (400) is installed, and additionally stores the installation height and shooting angle of the CCTV camera.
[0035] The video receiving unit (210) receives video from each of the CCTV camera (400) and the vehicle terminal (100-N) through the network (600).
[0036] The image analysis unit (220) performs the function of analyzing an image received from a CCTV camera (400) or a vehicle terminal (100-N) to determine whether an abnormal object exists on the road and to identify whether the abnormal object is a falling object, fire, smoke, etc. The image analysis unit (220) can separate one or more objects from the road background using an object detection technique such as a known foreground separation technique, and by comparing each separated object with the image data of an abnormal object stored in the database (240), it can determine whether an abnormal object exists on the road and, furthermore, identify the abnormal object. In addition, to examine the image more closely, the image analysis unit (220) may provide the manager with a function (e.g., an interface) that allows the manager to directly view the image, identify the abnormal object, and display it. To detect abnormal objects, the image analysis unit (220) may use a known image analysis technique using machine learning. The image analysis unit (220) can estimate the location of an abnormal object when an abnormal object is detected in the image received from the CCTV camera (400). At this time, the image analysis unit (220) can estimate the location of the abnormal object (i.e., actual coordinates) by using the location information, shooting angle, and height of the CCTV camera (400) to estimate the actual coordinate range of the image captured by the CCTV camera (400), and then confirming the location corresponding to the area represented by the abnormal object within the actual coordinate range. The image analysis unit (220) can identify falling objects, smoke, fire, etc., as abnormal objects.
[0037] Meanwhile, the video analysis unit (220) detects that an abnormal object exists on the road, but may not be able to accurately identify exactly what kind of object the abnormal object is.
[0038] The image acquisition control unit (230) obtains traffic flow information at the location where an abnormal object is detected by linking with the traffic information server (500), predicts a beam area through which vehicle terminals (100-N) capable of photographing the abnormal object pass based on this traffic flow information, and then controls the base station (300-N) so that an image request message can be transmitted to the vehicle terminals (100-N) passing through this beam area. Specifically, the image acquisition control unit (230) requests and receives traffic flow information at the location where an abnormal object is detected from the traffic information server (500). At this time, if a traffic light is installed around the location of the abnormal object (e.g., within a radius of 5m), the image acquisition control unit (230) can receive traffic flow information including the status of the traffic light and the average road speed from the traffic information server (500). The image acquisition control unit (230) checks one or more of the average vehicle speed and traffic light status included in the traffic flow information, and predicts one or more beam areas through which vehicle terminals capturing abnormal objects pass based on the confirmed information. At this time, the image acquisition control unit (230) can identify beam areas located around abnormal objects based on location information for each beam area stored in the database (240). In addition, the image acquisition control unit (230) controls the base station (300-N) so that an image request message is transmitted to the predicted one or more beam areas.
[0039] Meanwhile, the image collection control unit (230) checks the average road speed in the traffic flow information and, if the average road speed exceeds a preset threshold speed, controls the base station (300-N) to temporarily expand the size of the beam area. To elaborate, if the average road speed is fast, the vehicle terminal (100-N) may pass quickly around the abnormal object, so the amount of data for the image captured around the abnormal object by the vehicle terminal (100-N) may be small. Taking this into account, the image collection control unit (230) according to the present invention, when the average road speed exceeds the threshold speed, expands the size of the beam area and increases the number of vehicle terminals (100-N) used to collect images, thereby increasing the number of captured images around the abnormal object.
[0041] FIG. 4 is a flowchart illustrating a method for collecting additional images through a vehicle terminal in an image collection device according to an embodiment of the present invention.
[0042] Referring to FIG. 4, the CCTV camera (400) continuously captures road images and transmits them to the image collection device (200), and the image receiving unit (210) of the image collection device (200) stores the received images in the database (240) (S401).
[0043] Next, the image analysis unit (220) of the image collection device (200) separates the road image received from the image receiving unit (210) into background and objects using an object detection technique such as a foreground separation technique, and analyzes whether an abnormal object exists on the road by comparing each separated object with the image data of an abnormal object stored in the database (240) (S403). Next, the image analysis unit (220) can detect an abnormal object within the road image based on the analysis results of the abnormal object (S405). At this time, the image analysis unit (220) can determine that an object on the road, excluding vehicles, is an abnormal object. In this case, the image analysis unit (220) identifies whether the abnormal object corresponds to smoke, fire, falling objects, etc. by checking the match rate between the image data of the abnormal object stored in the database (240) and the abnormal object confirmed in the image. Meanwhile, if the image analysis unit (220) fails to recognize an object, it estimates the actual coordinate range of the image captured by the CCTV camera (400) using the location information, shooting angle, and height of the CCTV camera (400), and then estimates the location of the abnormal object by confirming the location corresponding to the area represented by the abnormal object within the actual coordinate range. Then, the image analysis unit (220) requests image collection from the image collection control unit (230). That is, if the image analysis unit (220) detects an abnormal object on the road as a result of analyzing the image of the CCTV camera (400) but fails to identify the abnormal object, it may request image collection from the image collection control unit (230).
[0044] Then, the image acquisition control unit (230) checks the location of the abnormal object estimated by the image analysis unit (220), requests traffic flow information including the location of the abnormal object from the traffic information server (500), and receives traffic flow information corresponding to the location (S407). To elaborate, when the traffic information server (500) receives the location of the abnormal object from the image acquisition device (200), it checks the average speed of the road corresponding to the location of the abnormal object, and additionally, if the location of the abnormal object is located near a traffic light, it additionally checks the current state of the traffic light installed nearby, and transmits traffic flow information including one or more of the average speed of the road and the current state of the traffic light to the image acquisition device (200).
[0045] Next, the image acquisition control unit (230) checks one or more of the current traffic light status and road speed included in the traffic flow information, and predicts one or more beam areas through which vehicle terminals capturing abnormal objects pass based on the checked information. At this time, the image acquisition control unit (230) can identify beam areas located around abnormal objects based on the location information for each beam area stored in the database (240).
[0046] FIGS. 5a to 5c are drawings illustrating a plurality of beam areas set up at an intersection.
[0047] As shown in FIG. 5a, when multiple beam areas (51a to 54b) are set at an intersection where four directions intersect and an abnormal object (55) is detected near the center of the intersection, the image acquisition control unit (230) can receive traffic flow information including the current traffic light status at the four-way intersection from the traffic information server (500). As shown in FIG. 5b, when the current signal status is an up-and-down two-way straight signal, the image acquisition control unit (230) can predict that the area where the vehicle terminal (100-N) must pass before passing around the abnormal object (55) according to the up-and-down two-way straight signal is the beam area of reference numeral 51a and the beam area of reference numeral 53a. In another embodiment, the image acquisition control unit (230) can predict that, as shown in FIG. 5c, when the current signal state is a straight and left turn signal at the 6 o'clock position, the area through which the vehicle terminal (100-N) passes before passing around the abnormal object (55) according to the signal is the beam area of reference numeral 53a.
[0048] When the prediction of the beam area is completed, the image acquisition control unit (230) checks the BRS corresponding to the predicted beam area in the database (240) (S409). Next, the image acquisition control unit (230) generates collection control information including one or more BRSs and transmits the generated collection control information to the base station (300-N) (S411, S413). At this time, the image acquisition control unit (230) checks the average road speed in the traffic flow information and checks whether the average road speed exceeds a preset threshold speed. If it exceeds the threshold, it optionally includes a command in the collection control information to temporarily expand the size of the beam area (e.g., for the duration of the time during which the image request message is transmitted). Additionally, the image acquisition control unit (230) identifies the base station (300-N) that manages the identification information of the BRS and transmits the collection control information to this base station (300-N). That is, the image acquisition control unit (230) transmits the acquisition control information to the base station (300-N) responsible for the predicted beam area among the plurality of base stations (300-N).
[0049] Then, the base station (300-N) checks one or more BRSs in the collected control information (S415) and transmits a video request message only to the beam area corresponding to the BRS among the multiple beam areas it is responsible for (S417). If the collected control information includes a command instructing area expansion, the base station (300-N) can transmit the video request message after expanding the beam area corresponding to the BRS for a preset time.
[0050] Thus, a vehicle terminal (100-N) located in the beam area corresponding to the above BRS receives a video request message from a base station (300-N), and after capturing a video during a pre-set shooting time (e.g., 30 seconds) based on the time of receiving the video request message, transmits the captured video to a video collection device (200) via the base station (300-N) (S419, S421).
[0051] Then, the image receiving unit (210) of the image collection device (200) receives an image captured by the vehicle terminal (100-N) and stores it in the database (240), and the image analysis unit (220) separates the image into background and objects using a foreground separation technique, and by comparing each separated object with the image data of an abnormal object stored in the database (240), it identifies an abnormal object that is not identified through the image of the CCTV camera (400) by analyzing the image received from the vehicle terminal (100-N) (S423). To elaborate, the image analysis unit (220) identifies an abnormal object that is not identified through the image of the CCTV camera (400) through the image captured by the vehicle terminal (100-N).
[0052] As described above, the image collection device (200) according to an embodiment of the present invention automatically identifies abnormal objects on the road by analyzing CCTV camera images, but if the abnormal object is not properly identified through the CCTV camera images, it can accurately identify the abnormal object by acquiring images around the abnormal object through a vehicle terminal (100-N) driving on the road and analyzing the acquired images. In addition, the image collection device (200) according to an embodiment of the present invention can prevent overload of the base station during image collection by transmitting a message requesting image transmission only to the vehicle terminal (100-N) expected to pass around the abnormal object.
[0053] Meanwhile, in the above-described embodiment, the image acquisition device (200) is described as controlling the base station (300-N) to acquire an image from the vehicle terminal (100-N) when it fails to identify an abnormal object in the image of the CCTV camera (400). However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and in order to analyze the already identified abnormal object more closely, it may also control the base station (300-N) to acquire and analyze additional images from the vehicle terminal (100-N).
