Abstract
Description
Technology Field
[0001] The present invention relates to an electrode bending measuring device.
[0002] More specifically, the invention relates to an electrode bending measuring device capable of measuring the bending of an electrode that occurs during the rolling of an electrode. Background Technology
[0004] Recently, rechargeable secondary batteries are being widely used as an energy source for wireless mobile devices.
[0005] Furthermore, secondary batteries are attracting attention not only as an energy source for portable devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and camcorders, but also for electric vehicles and hybrid electric vehicles, which are being proposed as solutions to address air pollution caused by conventional gasoline and diesel vehicles that use fossil fuels.
[0006] Therefore, the types of applications using secondary batteries are becoming highly diversified due to their advantages, and it is expected that secondary batteries will be applied to many more fields and products in the future than they are now.
[0007] Here, the secondary battery has a structure comprising an electrode assembly having a structure in which a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator are alternately stacked, an electrolyte that moves ions to the electrodes, and a case that accommodates the electrode assembly and the electrolyte.
[0008] Meanwhile, the manufacturing process of a secondary battery largely includes an electrode plate process for manufacturing electrodes including a positive electrode and a negative electrode, an assembly process for manufacturing the positive and negative electrodes into an electrode assembly and inserting the electrode assembly into a case together with an electrolyte, and a formation process for activating ion movement of the electrode assembly.
[0009] Here, the electrode plate process includes a mixing process in which a conductive material and a binder are added to an active material and then mixed; a coating process in which the mixed active material is applied onto a current collector; a rolling process in which the active material is pressed onto the surface of the current collector; and a process in which the electrode manufactured by coating the active material onto the surface of the current collector is cut to size and processed to form an electrode tab.
[0010] At this time, the slitting process for cutting the electrode to the appropriate size and the notching process for shearing to form an electrode tab on one end of the cut electrode can be performed sequentially or simultaneously.
[0011] That is, electrodes provided continuously in standardized sizes are cut and processed to have a specific shape while passing through a slitting device and a notching device, and the slitting device and the notching device are configured to operate separately or simultaneously in a single device.
[0013] Meanwhile, the thickness of the electrode is determined by the pressure during the rolling process, but the high pressure during the rolling process causes elongation of the electrode, and depending on the direction of elongation, camber occurs in the electrode.
[0014] Here, if the degree of bending in the electrode is large, it causes a meandering defect during the jelly roll winding process or the notching process, which causes the gap between the anode, cathode, and separator in the jelly roll electrode assembly to become distorted or reversed, and the uncut portion and retained portion in the notching electrode to not be properly cut, thereby causing defects in the process.
[0015] In order to solve the problem described above, conventionally, as shown in FIG. 1, a worker at the site places a steel ruler (10) having a length of 1m or more at the end or edge of an electrode (20) of a certain length and then manually measures the maximum length of the bent portion protruding from the ruler (10).
[0016] However, when measuring the bending portion of the electrode, the length of the bending portion measured after placing a ruler at the end or edge of the electrode varies depending on the operator, and as a result, there have been cases where the degree of bending of the electrode is judged as normal even though it is defective, or judged as defective even though it is normal.
[0017] Therefore, there is a need for the development of electrode bending measurement technology that can prevent process interruption caused by defects in the electrode assembly during the process of manufacturing the electrode assembly by checking the degree of bending of the electrode in advance and removing defective electrodes in the preliminary process. Prior art literature
[0019] Republic of Korea Registered Patent No. 10-1795836 The problem to be solved
[0020] The present invention is designed to solve the problems described above and aims to provide an electrode bending measuring device capable of measuring bending that occurs in an electrode due to high pressure during a rolling process.
[0021] In addition, the purpose is to provide an electrode bending measuring device that can prevent the occurrence of defects in the electrode assembly in advance by removing electrodes with poor bending degrees.
[0022] In addition, the purpose is to provide an electrode bending measuring device that can prevent process interruption caused by defects by checking in advance whether there are defects in the degree of bending of the electrode and removing them in advance during the preceding process. means of solving the problem
[0024] To achieve the above-mentioned objectives, the present invention comprises: a base plate on which an electrode is seated and a plurality of through holes are arranged in a row on one side; and a light source that irradiates light onto the base plate; and is characterized by measuring the bending of the electrode according to the degree of transmission of light irradiated from the light source through the through holes when the electrode is seated on the base plate such that the side edge portion of the electrode is crossed over at least a part of the through holes.
[0025] As an example, at least one light source is installed on the lower surface of the base plate to irradiate light from the bottom of the base plate toward the through hole.
[0026] As a specific example, the through hole is formed in either an elliptical or rectangular shape.
[0027] As an example, an alignment member is provided on one side of the base plate to align the electrode to be placed thereon and determine the measurement position of the electrode.
[0028] As a specific example, the alignment member includes a guide portion formed protruding from one edge of the upper surface of a base plate and having a guide groove formed on one side facing the direction in which the electrode is seated, and a stopper having a rear end inserted into the guide groove, which moves along the longitudinal direction of the electrode and contacts the side edge of the electrode.
[0029] As a specific example, the stopper is positioned parallel to the through hole, and the tip of the stopper is extended to a certain position within the length area of the through hole, and when the side edge of the electrode contacts the tip of the stopper, the measurement position of the electrode on the base plate is determined.
[0030] As another example, a fixing hole is formed through the stopper in a vertical direction, and a plurality of fixing grooves are arranged at regular intervals on the upper surface of the base plate between the guide part and the through hole, and the stopper is fixed on the base plate by fastening a fastening member to the fixing hole and the fixing groove before and after the stopper moves.
[0031] As another example, a coupling groove is formed at the rear end of the stopper, and a plurality of coupling holes are arranged at regular intervals in the guide groove where the rear end of the stopper contacts, and the stopper is fixed on the base plate by fastening a coupling member to the coupling groove and the coupling holes before and after the stopper moves.
[0032] As another example, through holes and alignment members are symmetrically provided on one side and the other side of the base plate with respect to the center of the base plate.
[0033] As another example, a stopper is fixedly installed on one side of the upper surface of the base plate to determine the measurement position of the electrode by contacting the side edge of the electrode.
[0034] As a specific example, a stopper is provided parallel to the through hole on the outer side of the through hole located at the outermost of the through holes, and the tip of the stopper is extended to a certain position within the length area of the through hole, and when the side edge of the electrode contacts the tip of the stopper, the measurement position of the electrode on the base plate is determined.
[0035] As another example, through holes and stoppers are symmetrically provided on one side and the other side of the base plate with respect to the center of the base plate. Effects of the invention
[0037] According to the present invention, bending along the direction of elongation generated in the electrode due to high pressure during the rolling process can be measured.
[0038] In addition, defects in the manufactured electrode assembly can be prevented by removing the electrode with a defective degree of bending.
[0039] In particular, the error between measurements can be reduced by checking in advance whether there is a defect in the degree of bending of the electrode using a measuring instrument, and process interruption due to the occurrence of meandering defects can be prevented by removing them in advance during the preceding process. FIG. 3 is an enlarged diagram schematically showing a fixing structure in which a stopper is fixed to a base plate of an electrode bending measuring device according to the present embodiment. FIG. 6 is a schematic diagram showing a modified example of an electrode bending measuring device according to the present embodiment.
[0049] As illustrated in FIG. 2, the electrode bending measuring device (1) according to the present invention comprises a base plate (100) and a light source (300).
[0050] The above base plate (100) is formed as a plate body in the shape of a roughly rectangular parallelepiped, with an electrode (3) placed on its upper surface.
[0051] And, on one side of the base plate (100), a plurality of through holes (101) are arranged in a row at regular intervals.
[0052] That is, on one side of the width direction of the base plate (100), a plurality of through holes (101) are arranged in parallel at regular intervals in the length direction.
[0053] Here, the through hole (101) located at the outermost edge among the through holes (101) arranged on one side of the base plate (100) is positioned at a certain distance from both ends in the longitudinal direction of the base plate (100).
[0054] At this time, the through hole (101) is formed in the base plate (100) in either an elliptical or rectangular shape.
[0055] Here, the through hole (101) is preferably formed to be long in the width direction of the base plate (100), but the shape and form of the through hole (101) are not limited thereto and can be modified in various ways.
[0056] The light source (300) is for irradiating light onto the base plate (100) and is installed at least one on the lower surface of the base plate (100) to irradiate light from the bottom of the base plate (100) toward the through hole (101).
[0057] By the structure described above, when the electrode (3) is placed on the base plate (100) such that the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) is positioned over at least a part of the through hole (101), the degree of bending of the electrode (3) can be measured according to the degree of transmission of light irradiated from the light source (300) passing through the through hole (101).
[0058] That is, the electrode (3) that has been elongated through a rolling process is placed on the upper surface of the base place (10) of the measuring device (1) according to the present invention, and the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) is placed so as to be positioned across the through holes (101) arranged in a row on the base plate (100), and light is irradiated into the through holes (101) through a light source (300) installed on the lower surface side of the base plate (100), and the degree of bending of the electrode (3) can be measured according to the degree of transmission of the light passing through the through holes (101).
[0059] In one embodiment of the present invention, six light sources (300) for irradiating light are installed on the lower surface side of the base plate (100), but the number of light sources (300) is not limited thereto and can be varied in many ways.
[0060] Meanwhile, on one side of the base plate (100), an alignment member (200) is movably provided to align the electrode (3) and determine the measurement position of the electrode (3).
[0061] Here, when the lengths of the electrodes (3) that are seated on the base plate (100) and measure the degree of bending are different, the alignment member (200) according to one embodiment of the present invention is configured to be movable on the base plate (100) so as to correspond to the length of the electrodes (3) so as to facilitate measuring the bending of the electrodes (3) having various lengths.
[0062] To this end, the alignment member (200) according to the present embodiment includes a guide portion (210) provided on a base plate (100), a guide groove (230) formed in the guide portion (210), and a stopper (250) inserted and installed so as to be movable in the guide groove (230).
[0063] The guide portion (210) is formed to protrude from one edge of the upper surface of the base plate (100). Here, the guide portion (210) is formed to protrude from one edge of the upper surface of the base plate (100), and is formed to protrude by extending in the longitudinal direction of the base plate (100).
[0064] The guide groove (230) is formed on one side of the guide portion (210), and is formed on one side of the guide portion (210) opposite to the direction in which the electrode (3) is seated.
[0065] The above stopper (250) is installed with its rear end inserted into the guide groove (230) so that it can move along the longitudinal direction of the electrode (3).
[0066] Here, the stopper (250) is formed in a bar shape and is arranged lengthwise in the width direction of the base plate (10) so that its tip contacts the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) which is seated on the upper surface of the base plate (10).
[0067] And, the stopper (250) is installed parallel to the through hole (101), and the tip of the stopper (250) is extended to a certain position within the length area of the through hole (101).
[0068] As a result, when the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) contacts the tip portion of the stopper (250), the measurement position of the electrode on the base plate (100) is determined.
[0069] Meanwhile, the length of the stopper (250) can be varied to correspond to the width of the electrode (3).
[0070] By the structure described above, one or more of the stoppers (250) inserted into the guide groove (230) corresponding to the length of the electrode (3) to be seated on the base plate (100) for measuring the degree of bending are moved horizontally on the guide groove (230), and the tip of the stopper (250) is made to come into contact with and touch the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) seated on the base plate (100), thereby allowing the degree of bending of the electrode (3) to be easily measured corresponding to the length of the electrode (3).
[0071] That is, when measuring various electrodes (3) of various lengths through a single electrode bending measuring device (1), there is a limit to measuring the bending of the electrode (3). Therefore, in order to determine the measurement position of the electrode (3) on the base plate (100), the stopper (250) that contacts the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) is moved on the base plate (100) to match the length of the electrode (3), thereby making it easy to measure the degree of bending of the electrode (3) of various lengths.
[0072] Meanwhile, as shown in FIG. 3, the stopper (250) has a fixing hole (251) formed through it in a vertical direction so that it is fixed by the connection of a fastening member (105) before and after movement on the base plate (100).
[0073] In addition, a plurality of fixing grooves (103) spaced apart at regular intervals are arranged on the upper surface of the base plate (100) between the guide part (210) and the through hole (101) so that a fastening member (105) can be fastened.
[0074] As described above, before and after moving the stopper (250), the fixing hole (251) of the stopper (250) is positioned on the same axis as the fixing groove (103) formed in the base plate (100), and then the stopper (250) can be fixed on the base plate (100) by fastening a fastening member (105) to the fixing hole (251) and the fixing groove (103).
[0075] Here, the fastening member (105) may be formed in the shape of a pin and fitted into the fixing hole (251) of the stopper (250) and the fixing groove (103) of the base plate (100) to fix the stopper (250) on the base plate (100).
[0076] In addition, it is possible to form a screw portion (not shown) on the outer circumference of the fastening member (105), the fixing hole (251) of the stopper (250), and the fixing groove (103) of the base plate (100) so as to be screw-coupled, but is not limited thereto and can be implemented in various modified ways.
[0077] As a modified example, as shown in FIG. 4, a coupling groove (253) is formed at the center of the rear end of the stopper (250), and a plurality of coupling holes (231) may be formed through the inner surface of the guide groove (230) to which the rear end of the stopper (250) contacts, spaced apart at regular intervals along the length of the guide groove (230).
[0078] Here, before and after moving the stopper (250), the coupling hole (231) formed in the coupling groove (253) of the stopper (250) and the guide groove (230) is positioned on the same axis, and then a coupling member (105') is fastened to the coupling hole (231) and the coupling groove (253) on the rear side of the guide part (210) in the opposite direction of the guide groove (230) to fix the stopper (250) on the base plate (100).
[0079] Meanwhile, as illustrated in FIG. 5, in order to prevent the stopper (250), whose rear end is inserted and coupled into the guide groove (230), from coming loose, the guide groove (230) is formed in a "┛" shape, and the rear end of the stopper (250), which is inserted and coupled into the guide groove (230), can be bent and formed in a "┛" shape corresponding to the shape of the guide groove (230).
[0080] With the structure described above, the stopper (250) inserted and coupled into the guide groove (230) of the guide part (210) moves along the longitudinal direction of the guide groove (230), and the bent portion bent upward at the rear end is coupled to the inside of the guide groove (230) to prevent detachment and separation to the outside.
[0081] At this time, the stopper (250) inserted and coupled into the guide groove (230) of the guide part (210) can be separated through both ends of the guide groove (230) formed in the guide part (210) in the longitudinal direction after moving along the longitudinal direction of the guide groove (230).
[0082] Meanwhile, when elongation occurs in the electrode (3) due to high pressure during the rolling process and bending occurs in the electrode according to the direction of elongation, bending may occur in the side edge portion (3a) and the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3), so there may be cases where the degree of bending must be measured in both the side edge portion (3a) and the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3).
[0083] Accordingly, as illustrated in FIG. 6, as another variation, the through hole (101) and the alignment member (200) may be symmetrically provided on one side and the other side of the base plate (100) with respect to the center of the base plate (100).
[0084] That is, in order to measure the degree of bending occurring not only on the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) but also on the other side edge portion (3b), through holes (101, 101') and alignment members (200, 200') may be provided symmetrically on one side and the other side of the base plate (100).
[0085] As a result, there is no need to change the position and arrangement, such as rotating the electrode (3) to measure the degree of bending of the other side edge (3b) after measuring the degree of bending of the side edge (3a) of the electrode (3).
[0087] (Second embodiment)
[0088] FIG. 7 is a schematic diagram showing an electrode bending measuring device according to another embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 8 is a schematic diagram showing a modified example of an electrode bending measuring device according to another embodiment of the present invention.
[0089] When measuring the bending of an electrode (3) having the same length repeatedly through the electrode bending measuring device (1) according to the present invention, it is more effective to measure the bending of the electrode (3) by fixing the stopper (250) on the base plate (100).
[0090] To this end, as illustrated in FIG. 7, an electrode bending measuring device (1') according to another embodiment of the present invention has a plurality of through holes (101) arranged in a row at regular intervals on one side of a base plate (100), and a stopper (250) may be fixedly installed on the upper surface of the base plate (100).
[0091] Here, the stopper (250) is provided parallel to the through hole (101) on the outer side of the through hole (101) located at the outermost of each through hole (101).
[0092] And, the tip portion of the stopper (250) is extended to a certain position within the length area of the through hole (101), and when the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) contacts the tip portion of the stopper (250), the measurement position of the electrode (3) on the base plate (100) is determined.
[0093] Meanwhile, in this embodiment as another variation, as shown in FIG. 8, the through hole (101) and the stopper (250) may be symmetrically provided on one side and the other side of the base plate (100) with respect to the center of the base plate (100).
[0095] Hereinafter, a measurement process for measuring the degree of bending of an electrode using an electrode bending measuring device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be briefly explained with reference to FIGS. 9 and 10.
[0096] First, we will explain the case of measuring the degree of bending of electrodes (3) of different lengths.
[0097] An electrode (3) that is elongated by high pressure during a rolling process and has a camber in the direction of elongation is placed on an electrode camber measuring device (1) according to the present invention.
[0098] Here, one or more of the stoppers (250) of the alignment member (200) are moved to correspond to the length of the electrode for measuring the degree of bending, thereby adjusting the spacing between each stopper (250).
[0099] Then, the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) is placed over a part of the through holes (101) arranged in a row at regular intervals on one side of the base plate (100), and the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) is placed so as to contact the tip of the stopper (250).
[0100] Meanwhile, before and after moving the stopper (250), the fixing hole (251) of the stopper (250) is positioned on the same axis as the fixing groove (103) formed in the base plate (100), and then the fastening member (105) is fastened to fix the stopper (250) on the base plate (100).
[0101] In this way, after placing the electrode (3) on the base plate (100), light is irradiated into the through hole (101) of the base plate (100) through a light source (300) installed on the lower surface side of the base plate (100).
[0102] At this time, the degree of bending of the electrode (3) is measured according to the degree of light transmission coming out through the through hole (101).
[0103] Here, as shown in FIG. 11 (a), if a certain amount of light is transmitted through all through holes (101) that are seated so that the electrode (3) is crossed, the degree of bending of the electrode (3) is determined to be a normal electrode that is included within a preset range of bending degree.
[0104] Meanwhile, as shown in FIG. 11 (b), if light is not transmitted through a specific position of the through hole (101) in which the electrode (3) is seated so as to be crossed, or if a very small amount of light is transmitted, the degree of bending of the electrode (3) is determined to be a defective electrode that is not included within the range of the predetermined degree of bending.
[0105] Here, in order to measure the degree of light transmission transmitted through the through hole (101) of the base plate (100), the electrode bending measuring device (1) of the present invention may further include a vision device (not shown).
[0106] The above vision device is provided at least one on the upper side of the base plate (100) and captures the degree of light transmission transmitted through each through hole (101), and then determines whether the bending of the electrode (3) falls within a preset range of bending degree through the captured image, thereby determining whether it is a normal electrode or a defective electrode.
[0107] And, through the captured image, the distance of the through holes (101) through which light passes and the distance of the through holes (101) through which light does not pass can be measured to determine the degree of bending of the electrode (3).
[0108] In addition, after measuring the number of through holes (101) through which light is transmitted or the number of through holes (101) through which light is not transmitted, the degree of bending or the level of bending of the electrode can be determined and measured through the measured distance or the measured number.
[0109] In addition, it is possible to determine whether the distance, number, etc. of the through holes (101) through which light is transmitted or through holes (101) through which light is not transmitted are included within a preset range of bending degree, and thereby determine whether it is a normal electrode or a defective electrode.
[0110] Here, if the number of through holes (101) arranged in a row at regular intervals on one side of the base plate (100) is large or the spacing between the through holes (101) is narrow, the accuracy of measuring the bending of the electrode (3) is improved.
[0111] Accordingly, it is desirable to vary the number and spacing of the through holes (101) according to the standard value of the degree of bending of the electrode (3) required at the work site, but is not limited thereto.
[0113] Meanwhile, when measuring all bending occurring in the side edge portion (3a) and the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3) through the electrode bending measuring device (1) according to one embodiment of the present invention, as shown in FIG. 6, the degree of bending of the side edge portion (3a) and the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3) can be measured through the through holes (101, 101') and the alignment member (200) respectively provided symmetrically on one side and the other side of the base plate (100).
[0114] Light is irradiated into each through hole (101) formed on one side of the base plate (100) through a light source (300) provided on the lower side of the base plate (100), and the degree of bending of the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) is measured according to the degree of transmission that comes out after passing through each through hole (101).
[0115] And, simultaneously or individually, any one of the stoppers (250') or both of the stoppers (250') inserted into the guide groove (230') of the other guide portion (210') of the base plate (100) are moved along the longitudinal direction of the guide groove (230') to be positioned corresponding to the length of the electrode (3).
[0116] Next, the fixing hole (251') of the stopper (250') is positioned on the same axis as the fixing groove (103') on the base plate (100), and then the fastening member (105) is fastened to fix the stopper (250') to the other side of the upper surface of the base plate (100).
[0117] Then, the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3) is brought into contact with the tip portion of the stopper (250'), and the electrode (3) is placed on the base plate (100) so as to be positioned over a portion of the through holes (101') arranged in a row at a certain distance apart on the other side of the base plate (100).
[0118] Next, light is irradiated into each through hole (101') formed on one side of the base plate (100) through a light source (300) provided on the lower side of the base plate (100), and the degree of bending of the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3) is measured according to the degree of transmission of the irradiated light passing through each through hole (101').
[0120] Meanwhile, when repeatedly measuring an electrode (3) having the same length, the degree of bending of the electrode (3) can be measured through an electrode bending measuring device (1') according to another embodiment of the present invention, and at this time, the stopper (250) is fixedly installed on the base plate (100).
[0121] As shown in FIG. 7, the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) is brought into contact with the tip portion of a stopper (250) provided on one side of the base plate (100), and the electrode (3) is placed on the base plate (100) so that it is placed over a part of the through hole (101) arranged in the base plate (100).
[0122] Then, light is irradiated into each through hole (101) formed on one side of the base plate (100) through a light source (300) provided on the lower side of the base plate (100).
[0123] In this way, the degree of bending of the side edge portion (3a) of the electrode (3) can be measured according to the degree of transmission of light irradiated into each through hole (101) and passing through each through hole (101).
[0124] In the electrode bending measuring device (1') according to the present embodiment, all bending occurring on the side edge portion (3a) and the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3) can be measured.
[0125] That is, the degree of bending of the side edge portion (3a) and the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3) can be measured through through holes (101, 101') and stoppers (150, 250') that are symmetrically provided on one side and the other side with respect to the center of the base plate (100).
[0126] Referring to FIG. 8, the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3) is brought into contact with the tip portion of a stopper (250') provided on the other side of the base plate (100), and the electrode (3) is seated on the base plate (100) so as to be placed over a portion of a plurality of through holes (101').
[0127] Then, light is irradiated into each through hole (101') formed on the other side of the base plate (100) through a light source (300) provided on the lower side of the base plate (100).
[0128] In this way, the degree of bending of the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3) can be measured according to the degree of transmission of the light irradiated through the light source (300) passing through each through hole (101').
[0129] With the structure described above, the degree of bending of both the side edge portion (3a) and the other side edge portion (3b) of the electrode (3) can be measured.
[0130] Here, the electrode bending measuring device (1, 1') according to the present invention can measure bending according to the direction of elongation that occurs in the electrode (3) due to high pressure during the rolling process, and prevents defects in the manufactured electrode assembly by removing the electrode (3) with a poor degree of bending, and prevents process interruption due to defects by checking in advance whether the degree of bending of the electrode (3) is poor and removing it in advance during the preceding process.
[0132] Although the present invention is illustrated and described above in relation to specific embodiments, it will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and changes are possible without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as set forth in the appended claims.
