Abstract

This utility model relates to metallurgical equipment, specifically to tilt drives for induction crucible furnaces. The technical challenge is to eliminate shock loads when starting the tilt drive. The solution is achieved by introducing a soft starter (SST) into the asynchronous motor's power circuit. This SST is based on a three-phase thyristor voltage regulator consisting of six thyristors with an adjustable acceleration time from 1 to 30 seconds. This regulator ensures a smooth voltage increase through software control of the phase angle and smooth motor braking. The SST is connected between the power grid and the tilt mechanism's asynchronous motor. The mechanism includes a crucible tilt angle sensor, the signal from which is used to smoothly stop the motor when the set tilt angle is reached. The technical result: reducing the starting current to 2-3 times the nominal value, reducing the peak starting torque by at least a factor of 2, increasing the service life of the gearbox and bearings by at least 1.5 times, ensuring a crucible tilt speed in the range of 0.5-5° / s, and stabilizing the flow of liquid metal during casting.
