Abstract
Scope. This utility model relates to air cooling and ventilation and can be widely used to create an artificial microclimate in energy-efficient cooling systems at industrial facilities, agricultural buildings, and residential and public facilities. The objective of the utility model is to improve the efficiency of the cooling process by increasing the surface area for heat and mass transfer between air and water. Essence of the utility model. To improve the efficiency of the evaporative cooling process, evaporative cooling units with hollow fiber membrane packings with an expanded central section utilize hollow fiber membrane packings with an expanded central section in the evaporative cooling chamber. These packings significantly increase the surface area for heat and mass transfer, which in turn enhances the interaction between the incoming air and water. All heat-exchange surfaces of the hollow fiber membrane packing with an expanded central section are moistened with water vapor, with water evaporation occurring due to the latent heat of vaporization. As a result, the incoming air becomes saturated with water vapor. Due to the evaporation process, the temperature of the dry air decreases and its relative humidity increases. Hollow fiber membrane packing with an expanded central section enhances airflow turbulence as it passes through the packing, intensifying heat and mass transfer between the air and water. This increases the efficiency of evaporative cooling units with hollow fiber membrane packing with an expanded central section, resulting in efficient air cooling and energy savings.
