Abstract
A gelling compound with fibers and fly ash for low-temperature formations is used in the oil industry and is designed to isolate water influx in production wells, control the injectivity profile of injection wells, and increase formation coverage during waterflooding. The compound includes a water-soluble polymer, a cross-linking system, carbon fibers, a mineral additive, and water. The polymer used is polyacrylamide or a low-hydrolysis copolymer of acrylamide and acrylic acid. The crosslinking system is a combination of a phenolic compound, primarily resorcinol, and an aldehyde-containing compound. Carbon fibers with a diameter of 10-20 µm are used as fibrous filler. Aluminosilicate fly ash is used as a mineral additive. A distinctive feature of the composition is the combined use of a phenolic-aldehyde crosslinking system, carbon fibers and fly ash, which ensures the accelerated formation of a viscous gel at low temperatures of 25-30 °C - within 18 hours, a gel is formed with a strength corresponding to the EF codes on the Sydansk scale, which indicates the transition of the system to a slightly mobile or practically immobile state. The technical result consists of accelerating gelation, increasing the viscosity of the gel in low-temperature formations, reducing the loss of working fluid by reducing filtration into the formation matrix and increasing the efficiency of isolating highly permeable channels.
