Abstract

This invention relates to veterinary virology and biotechnology, and to methods for producing biopreparations against infectious animal diseases. It represents a method for producing a culture-based cowpox vaccine based on an attenuated strain of the cowpox virus, and can be used in the biological industry. The technical result of this invention is the expansion of the range and development of a method for producing an immunogenic, harmless vaccine that induces strong immunity against the cowpox virus. The said technical result is achieved by the fact that in order to obtain an attenuated culture vaccine for the prevention of cowpox, a method of culturing the virus in a primary trypsinized culture of PY cells is used, and for stabilization, a protective medium is used consisting of 5% peptone and 3% sucrose in a final concentration and the attenuated strain "CP-65K" VOK, which has high biological, antigenic and immunogenic activity before and after lyophilization, ensuring the production of a highly immunogenic and harmless vaccine that creates intense and long-lasting immunity in vaccinated calves for a period of at least 12 months (observation period).
