Abstract

The invention pertains to wind energy, specifically to vertical-axis wind turbine (VAWT) designs, primarily troposkino turbines, and concerns technologies for preventing ice buildup, providing thermal protection, and improving the operational reliability of the blades of such turbines. The invention aims to prevent the formation of ice deposits on the outer surface of the blade profile by supplying heated air to the internal cavities of the blade elements and uniformly distributing the heat flow along their length. The objective of the invention is to create a method and device for thermal protection of a vertical-axis wind turbine with a troposkino system, preventing blade icing, improving the uniformity of their heating, reducing heat loss, and enhancing the operational reliability of the turbine in low-temperature conditions. The technical result consists in increasing the efficiency of thermal protection of hollow blades due to the organized supply of heated air to the root section of each blade, the distribution of heated air through internal longitudinal arcuate and transverse distribution channels and the discharge of heated air to the outer surface of the blade through outlet microperforations, as well as due to automatic regulation of the temperature and / or flow rate of heated air depending on signals from temperature, humidity and / or icing sensors. The said technical result is achieved by the fact that in the method of thermal protection of a wind turbine with a vertical axis of rotation of the troposkino system, heated air is supplied to the root part of each hollow blade from below through a distribution manifold, then directed through longitudinal arc-shaped channels made inside the blade, connected to transverse distribution channels, and discharged to the outer surface of the blade through outlet microperforations made in the walls of the blade, ensuring heating of the blade along its length.
