Abstract
Within the framework of the joint project between Engineer Jana Ramal, PhD student in Environmental and Earth Sciences at the Lebanese University, student Lilian Al-Ghoul at the Lebanese University, Professor Akram Hijazi at the Lebanese University, Dr. Ismail Hijazi from Al-Maaref University - Faculty of Health Sciences, and Dr. Muhammad Rashaini from the Islamic University, this patent was submitted for a sustainable and biodegradable hydrogel, made from cellulose extracted from agricultural waste. Hydrogel is used to remove organic and inorganic pollutants from water. It is effective at separating oil from water, reusable, and cost-effective. This innovation is an environmentally friendly solution suitable for areas with limited resources.
