Abstract

A turbine that can be rotated about an axis of rotation xx, the impeller comprising a casing having opposite inner and outer faces and an outer peripheral edge portion distant from the axis of rotation, a plurality of pumping blades projecting from the inner face of the casing, a plurality of auxiliary blades projecting from the outer face of the casing, one or more of the auxiliary blades having an inner edge that is closer to the axis of rotation and an outer edge that is closer to the peripheral edge portion of the casing, the auxiliary blades extending in a direction from the axis of rotation towards the outer peripheral edge portion of the casing, one or more of the auxiliary blades having a front side and a rear side each extending from the inner edge to the outer edge with an upper side spaced from the outer face of the casing,and at least one projection extending from the rear side of one or more of said auxiliary blades, and preferably from each auxiliary blade.
