CORK-BASED BOARD CUTTING MACHINE

Abstract

The present invention relates to a cutting machine (1) for cutting cork boards into strips of cork material of sufficient thickness for the production of cork stoppers. The machine (1) has a frame (2) comprising a support surface (3); a set of at least two parallel shafts (5), the shafts (5) being arranged in the same plane parallel to a cutting plane and also perpendicular to a cutting direction(s); at least one cutting element (6) mounted on each shaft (5), the cutting elements (6) being parallel to each other and misaligned with respect to each other in the cutting direction(s); and an upper board-holding device (7) that cooperates with a board-loading and holding device (4). The present invention has application in the cork industry.
