The present invention relates to a household appliance, including a fluid transport zone, and a controller device designed for detecting a characteristic deposit value. The appliance comprises a measuring device, and the characteristic deposit detection value is determined by means of a surface acoustic wave. The present invention further relates to a method for cleaning such a household appliance.
