TRIM ELEMENT FOR A VEHICLE

Abstract

A trim element (2) for a vehicle comprising a molded panel (4) having inner (6) and (8) outer sides; at least one one-piece support element (18) connected to the panel (4) and configured to pivot around the panel, optionally by a live hinge; said support element (18) being able to pivot from a first molded position into a second position in which it covers a portion of the inner side panel (6); and at least one trim clip (42) on the support element (18) for attaching the panel to the vehicle structure. The support element may be cut or heat-stamped in its second position. At least one trim clip (42) may be provided elsewhere on the inner face (6) of the panel for attachment to the vehicle.
