Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for administering low doses of algae to cattle to increase the level of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, including docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), in commercial cattle feeding environments. The method for increasing omega-3 fatty acid levels in cattle involves feeding them approximately 0.05 to 0.8 pounds of algae per day.
