Abstract

The invention relates to an apparatus for storing, reducing, cutting, and distributing preform layers, comprising a device for storing the wound lengths of the preform layers and a mechanism for receiving the wound lengths of the preform layers. The mechanism includes a grinding mechanism for grinding portions of the preform layers of material and a cutting device for cutting the ground portions of the material. A programmable controller is configured to control the operations of at least one of the device and the mechanism.
