Abstract

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing artificial turf (1000), comprising the steps of: - creating (100) a liquid polymer mixture (100, 400, 500), the polymer mixture being at least a two-phase system., a first (402) of the phases comprising a first polymer and a first colorant, a second (404) of the phases of the polymer mixture comprising a second polymer and a second colorant, the second colorant having a different color from that of the first colorant, the second polymer being of the same type or of a different type from the first polymer, the first and second phases being immiscible, the first phase forming polymer beads in the second phase; - extrude (102) the polymer mixture into a monofilament (606) comprising a marbled pattern of the first and second color; - soak (104) the monofilament; - heat (106) the monofilament; - stretch (108) the heated monofilament to deform the polymer beads into threadlike regions (800) and to transform the monofilament into an artificial turf fiber (1004); - incorporate (110) the artificial grass fiber into an artificial grass support (1002).<!--endfragment-->
