Abstract

An illuminated microsurgical probe may include a handle, a diffuser, a suction conduit, and a fiber optic bundle. The diffuser may include a distal end, a proximal end, and an internal bore. The handle may include a distal end, a proximal end, and an internal bore. The suction conduit may include a distal end and a proximal end. The distal end of the suction conduit may be disposed within the internal bore of the diffuser, and the proximal end of the suction conduit may be disposed within the internal bore of the handle. The fiber optic bundle may include a distal end and a proximal end.The distal end of the optical fiber bundle can be disposed in the internal bore of the diffuser.
