Abstract

The present invention relates to a passenger security screening installation (10) comprising a set of transfer trays and a conveying and screening track (14) having a receiving end (16) and a security end (18). The installation further comprises a return conveying track extending beneath the conveying and screening track (14) of the trays. The installation comprises a plurality of mechanically independent, juxtaposed modules (22), each module (22) comprising, on the one hand, a U-shaped cradle (24) defining a mean cradle plane, and on the other hand, an upper motorized roller assembly (36) installed above a lower motorized roller assembly (40) within the U-shaped cradle (24) in a direction substantially perpendicular to the mean cradle plane.<!--endfragment-->
